Very good tavern. Good grub and definitely reasonably priced drinks. Staff is pleasant and engaging. Close to me and I definitely recommended.

SOO, me Cute- E -Bear & I , wish to have a spectacular drink. I live in Manhattan, & lucky him, lives here in Manhassett. We both Nod & know where to go. Cute -e - Bear loves a good MANHATTAN, & I , well, I"ll drink anything. We found parking easily, & there was plenty of good car parks , which IS important. " ADAM, thee Barkeep "was already busy, & he had just opened at 5PM. As always a smile n his face. I had a "Reisling" & it was a beautiful pour, for a good price. Thee ' Manhattan drink" was wonderful, & since I drank a lot of that as well, , we ordered another, & then the food began. Thee chef " Shawn " knows his food. We had octopus salad. Soo tender! PEREFECT!, thee pork dumplings were succulent with real sea weed on the bottom. Thee mussels were outstanding & large , AND thee Special burger , rare. was wonderful. Chips were added , & they were salty, crispy, & I didn't ask for ketchup, & gravy, the " British Way " I like. These were way too good for anything. For desert I had a "WHITE RUSSAN, " & Adam made it with REAL cream . THEE way it's supposed to be made! Thee last time I was there I had the french Onion soup for dessert. DON"T Judge . I've had stranger than that. This is a Cozy, place, Great for romantic dates, & the chairs at thee pub , where I love to sit , were comfortable, which to a lady ( me) who has GREAT taste ( sigh ) it was a pleasure. The lovely waiter Patrick, who really didn't know us , was very pleasant & when we entered was soo friendly. NOW...... about thee people that come here! I LOVE THEM! Quite a few regulars , soo funny, captivating and very friendly and understand British Humour . ( thank you ) . We stayed there for hours watching , chit chatting, ordering more & more, & we stayed for thee warmth of this place. By the way... if you wish to " Hide Away from wife, hubby, work, parole officer, etc THIS is the place to go. No-one can see through the WINDOWS! brilliant! BRILLIANT! Cheers all. Fish tacos and lamb skewers

Schout Bay Tavern was a pleasant surprise! How great to know that such good American food exists right around the corner from my house. The service was sophisticated and made me feel like I was in the city. Atmosphere was cool. It's dark, spacious, and has both tables and bar stools. It's a bar for older people though, so don't expect it to be poppin with 20-somethings. Lots of cougars! We ordered the fish tacos and the Aussie lamb skewers. Everything were great. The fish tacos were just small filet of fried fish (cod, I think), and didn't have much more in them besides that, but left me satisfied. The lamb skewers were lovely. However, the portion was a bit small for the price. Go with a date or with your family. Homey little gem in Manhasset. I wanna check it out for brunch!

Swordfish Special

My dad and I came here for dinner one Friday. They were able to accommodate us although we didn't have a reservation. We were seated in the back, the decor was very interesting and I liked it. Where we were seated there was a direct blow of cold air which was annoying during our dinner. Our waitress came to take our order, she was very nice and bubbly. We started with the tuna carpaccio special, which was very good but more of a tartare then a carpaccio. The tuna tasted very fresh. My dad and I shared the swordfish special and the lamb for our entree. The swordfish was cooked well and the flavors of the dish were mellow but it worked. The lamb was very good, it was not chewy at all and the olives in the salad underneath it were a nice addition. We also got the kung pao broccoli as a side. It was okay, I would've liked it better if the peanut flavor was more pronounced. After that we were finished. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant! The service was pretty quick and the portions were decently sized.

The total amount of Andouille sausage in the rice and beans. I find this insulting. You could fit all of that on a $.25 quarter.

Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. From family gatherings and office parties to intimate date nights, The Harrison offers an ambiance and menu designed to satisfy both the casual diner and the most discerning palate.

For desert, lava cake apparently good but the apple crisp wasn't crisp at all, just a mushy oatmeal covering over cooked apples. A sad end to a meal that cost almost $360. Won't be back.

We were full by the time it came to dessert, so we didn't order anything, but menu looked tempting. While we were there we saw a ton of take-out orders being picked up, so obviously a local favorite. If we lived closer would definitely get take out from here as well.

I'm sure glad we chose to come here. Since I'm perpetually early, I went to have a beer at the bar while waiting and had a chance to peruse the happy hour menu. Lots of good stuff here including many beers and cocktails. This menu is available until 6 pm during the week. Bartender was a doll and gave me the skinny on all her favorites for both the happy hour and regular menus. Bar seats maybe 15 people and a tv above will keep a solo flyer busy for a bit. Once my buddy arrived, we were seated in the dining room toward the back. A great space able to seat many patrons. Larger groups can easily be accommodated. Our server Zack was awesome and came by just often enough. He also did a great job spacing out our courses so as not to overload our table. We started with soup and then had one of the starts of the evening- sliced seared tuna. This was a reco from the earlier mentioned bartender and it was a super home run. So were the Bang Bang Tacos. ( another reco from our great bartender food guru.) My friend said his salmon was good but not great and I had a burger that Zack recommended. Cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, this was an incredible burger and I could have taken at least half home. I didn't because it was so good and I felt stuffed when it was finished. We didn't stop there though - the dessert menu looked awesome and I wasn't going to miss it. Coffee and snifter of Chambord matched with the cinnamon apple explosion was the "icing on the cake" Great meal and service. Will definitely come back and the sooner the better.

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.
