    Bosphorus Gyro Cheese Steak Sandwhich

Picked up some takeout and was pleasantly surprised. They had a very reasonable lunch menu for Sunday afternoon and we got the lentil soup (fantastic, love it), the gyro cheesesteak sandwich (good, probably better in person), the Adana kebab lunch (my husband was raving about the skewer for 2 days), and the chicken wrap which I really enjoyed - tender pieces of chicken with cheese and veggies! They had the pistachio Halva dessert which I've been looking for and it was soooo good. Service was friendly as well! Will definitely be back!

Turkish comfort food, like a whole afternoon of piping fresh lavash, hummus, baba ganoush, quinoa, spicy feta ... pide, washed down with a crisp Efes. With us being vegetarian this is our GO TO almost every time. And we also had enough room once to add in a falafel sammy. If you are a meat eater you also will not be disappointed ... friends and fam have never complained about it for sure, haha! The crew is very pro, polite, friendly. You're never rushed here - another biggy for a good stretch of comfort food day out in my book. Love coming back here at least once a year. Kick back, relax under their wicked lamps. Then I guess eventually head home.

I was looking for a new place to take my husband for his birthday and hit the jackpot with Bosphorous Cafe! The decor is charming with fantastic lighting fixtures. I had a Cucumber Crisp for a beverage and it was amazing. And then the food came. Everything we ordered was fantastic. My husband had the lentil soup which was puréed and had a lovely flavor. We also had the gyro pide which was great. For our main course we shared the Fish and Chop and Mixed Grill. All the meat had amazing flavor and was so tender. We didn't have room for dessert, but hopefully next time. Special shout out to the great staff. One of the waitresses even ran out to the parking lot with our leftovers. Thanks for a great night!

What a hidden gem! Bosphorus Cafe Grill in Port Washington, NY blew us away--authentic Turkish flavors, warm atmosphere, and beautifully presented dishes. The Lamb Combo was perfectly seasoned and cooked to tender perfection--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. We absolutely loved the Bosphorus Salad--bright, fresh, and packed with bold, zesty flavors that danced on the palate. The Lava Bread is a must! Fun to eat, light as air, and simply addictive--don't miss it! Truly a special dining experience--delicious food, cozy vibe, and outstanding service. Can't wait to return!

Just discovered Bosphorus Cafe Grill, and I'm so glad I did! We had the authentic fried liver (so good!), delicious moussaka, perfect Turkish pizza, and a super fresh salad with perfectly grilled salmon--moist and flavorful, not dry at all like it often is elsewhere. Cetin was an excellent maître D, making us feel right at home and even putting on French music for us, which made the event extra special. I can't wait to go back and try more of their best dishes! This place is a real find for Mediterranean food lovers.

The freshest most consistently delicious Turkish/Mediterranean cuisine I've had on Long Island. Been coming here for about a year & have not ever been disappointed. Restaurant is clean & the inside is nicely decorated with beautiful lights & modern touches. There is bar, booth, table, & outdoor seating. Currently igloos but in the summer, tables & umbrellas. Menu is vast, portions are large, prices are fair (the lunch menu is slightly cheaper.) Ive had everything on the cold appetizer menu, eggplant is to die for, my favorite tabouleh, the fresh bread is a must for dipping. Turkish tea is an absolute must and if you save room for dessert you cant go wrong with any of their offerings. Beer, liquor, wine available. Service is amazing. Attentive, great at giving suggestions. Owner or manager is sweet & likes to ensure you have a great experience. Parking lot located in the back, not very big. Huge speed bump so if your car is very low, do not even attempt. Additional free street parking out front.

Great Mediterranean spot. Lava bread is a must. Honestly all the food was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Mixed grill with lamb ,and chicken varieties is great to sample. Service was quick and friendly but I felt a bit rushed when they asked if we were still enjoying our meal and they asked if we wanted to pack anything to go. Overall solid place for Mediterranean.

Been here so many times and they are always great. You can read any of my previous reviews. I like to use words like consistent, courteous, clean, flavorful, authentic and conscientious. What's great is that the owner Ali is on vacation and the staff, food, service and everything was on point. It's Labor Day weekend so the town is a little slower. The staff was never standing around and was constantly cleaning and making sure everything was ready for the next set of customers. We had the Lavas Hollow bread with the Turkish Ezme, grilled salmon, grilled shrimp, Turkish tea and ended the dinner with chocolate baklava. Everything was great as usual and the flavors and spices they use are great. They have plenty of indoor outdoor seating. It's a good idea to make reservations as they fill up quickly. Port Washington is a great place to visit. Don't miss taking a walk down by the water. There's plenty of free parking on Main Street in the lot by the docks. Don't miss coming to Bosporus Grille, it won't disappoint.

This is a great addition to the Port Washington culinary scene! We didn't do the outdoor dining but did takeout instead. The outdoor dining looked nice though and very popular. For the food, my favorites were the hummus and the baklava, so good! I wish the hummus came with pita instead of the bread but the bread was good. For the entrees we tried the salmon and shrimp. I liked how the shrimp came with grilled vegetables and were well seasoned. The salmon was a little dry and over cooked, and came with a sizeable salad. I wish they had more of a lemon garlic sauce option, as that is usually my go to at Mediterranean restaurants. Overall though it was very good! Will be back to try the chocolate baklava.

Lamb combo: shish and Adana style

3.5 stars overall. Lovely spot for Turkish and Mediterranean style eats. Conveniently located near a few shopping plazas and they have parking! The front section normally for parking, is currently for the outdoor dining pods. There are a few four seaters but mainly the pods are made for two. They run snug. Restaurant said they have to be reserved but I didn't have an issue as I went early (6pm on a Friday) and they accommodated us. There are plenty of outdoor tables without the pod but we wanted to be away from the crowds. Saw so many pics of the recommended Lavas Hollow Bread. It is indeed a must try but it didn't come with anything. So we had to order dips/spreads separately (hummus and tzatziki) to accompany that. We ordered the zucchini cakes - skip. Not flavorful or memorable, just plain. For Entrees we had the lamb combo (comes with two types of lamb: Adana and Shish). The Adana was more tender and the shish was a little dry. But good flavors (spices) and the portion was good. And we tried the Fish Delight, which was St. Peter fish. The wait staff couldn't describe it well but we gathered it was filet and white fish. Again, a little on the dry side. My friend didn't care for it. Skipped dessert as it was early and I was on a mission to go somewhere else. We did get to see the inside (main dining room), at a quick glance it was nice and clean. Pretty lamps and fixtures. We came for the Turkish experience but left with mixed reviews.

They put out a little pita and two little dips: very plain pasty humus and even blander babaganoush. My wife and son each ordered crab cake and white lima beans appetizers, but the kitchen put them on the same plate. They both agreed it was delicious and that it was smart they got two orders of crab cake ($32 each) because there wasn't enough for two adults to split one crab cake, which was about the size of two stacked knock hockey pucks. They both ordered the halibut ($46 each), but I got the bargain swordfish ($45). All of us agreed the fish dishes were top quality, very well prepared including the accompanying veggies. I can't name another restaurant that prepares fish better. Two out of the three desserts were winners: my pistachio cake ("portokalopita") and the "chocolatina" (chocolate cake filled with hot fudge ("volcano"), etc. The loser was "milopita" (apple cake), which wasn't cake at all, but more like a flatbread with powdered sugar and a few super thin slices of overcooked, tasteless green apple. The bus boys were attentive, but the waiter was snippy and didn't seem to have time for us. The bill for the three of us with tip was over $300 and the only drink we ordered was my wife's tea.

Went for a work dinner. Lots of nice spaces to hold meetings. Service was quick and refilled water…read morepromptly. Apps were amazing and entrees came out quickly. Lots of dessert options as well- overall everything tasted great and lots of options for every palette.
