Amazing pricey drinks' worth it! Lychee martini w st
    Cary R.

Previously dined at their city location and had a great experience, so we decided to try this one since it's closer. Beautiful space and valet is a plus. Drinks are pricey but delicious and worth it. Calamari and octopus were excellent. Unfortunately, the Chilean sea bass special was disappointing. Very small portion, not cooked properly, and lacked flavor especially surprising for an upscale restaurant at that price point. The sides were great, but I came for the fish. Also surprised no one checked in to see how everything was. If I return, it would likely just be for drinks.

I went to Kyma for a brunch party on a weekend. The valet parking situation threw me off a bit because I arrived early and the parking lot seemed spacious and empty, but I could see it get fuller and busier at times. There's also street and town parking available though it is a little bit of a trek as Kyma is separated from the Main Street establishments. I did hear that this is a dressier place with DJ and people dancing, but the volume of the music felt a tad loud. I had the Greek 75 which was lemony and surprisingly very herbal. The cocktails here are not in-your-face strong, which is not bad for brunch as I didn't want to be totally wasted during the daytime. We had a whole spread of shared appetizers for the table. The famous Kyma chips were okay, but I honestly enjoyed the spreads and the grilled octopus better. The highlight of the brunch was a bongo player coming out periodically during the brunch, encouraging the crowd to get up and enjoy the music. There's that fun party vibe throughout the meal with sparklers being handed out and napkins being thrown up in the air. But this makes the dining room area an absolute chaos with waitstaff and other patrons bumping into each other. I wish they would clear an area of the hall for people to dance and enjoy themselves without being on top of other diners who are trying to enjoy a meal and a conversation. For my entree, I had the Lavraki "brozini" white sea bass that was filet opened and grilled with copious herbs. I did enjoy how flaky yet meaty the fish was, but the fish bones and insides were not removed meticulously and I had to keep picking out big and small bones. Not a big deal for me, but it's not something everyone wants to do when they're on a nice dinner out-- definitely not a date food. I tried a little bit of the shrimp linguine pasta and thought it was delicious. I have mixed feelings about Kyma because it is a good time if you are going for some drinking and dancing but the food and service was a little lacking compared to how expensive it is. It's a good time, but it is not a bargain. I would go if I was invited to a gathering there, but I would not go on my own.

Delicious food! So rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. I came here on a Saturday night and had a reservation for 2 at 8:30pm and was not seated until 9:15pm. Beautiful decor inside, valet parking, decent size restaurant, attentive staff. It was very loud and the tables were extremely close together where the wait staff was reaching over our table to serve other tables, which is not ideal. I would suggest coming here on not such a busy night for a better experience because the food was absolutely amazing so don't miss out on this spot!!

This was my third visit to Kyma, and unfortunately, it will likely be my last. My previous experiences were great, but this time was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The appetizers are usually a strong point, and they started off well again -- we had the zucchini and eggplant chips, which are always delicious, especially with the garlicky sauce. I also tend to order the watermelon salad, but this time it really missed the mark. The watermelon wasn't ripe at all, which made it unappetizing. Honestly, if ripe fruit isn't available, it might be best to take that dish off the menu. The real problem was the entrée. I specifically ordered the Fagri, a fish I've had and enjoyed here before. What I received was not Fagri. It was bland, the skin was grey and thin, and it looked and tasted more like branzino. When I questioned it, the waiter insisted -- repeatedly -- that it was Fagri, which felt dismissive and insulting. If the fish wasn't available, I should have been told upfront. Instead, I was served something else, passed off as what I ordered, and expected not to notice. On top of that, it wasn't even properly prepared -- despite being filleted, it was full of long, thin bones and basically inedible. I've included a photo of the actual fish I was supposed to be served, but NOT. The service made the experience even worse. My second drink took far too long, and the waiter barely checked on us the entire night. I used to recommend Kyma, but after this visit, I cannot. Serving the wrong fish, denying it when questioned, and delivering poor service is unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber.

Yum yum . Good service. Came here to celebrate my friends bday and we enjoyed everything. I enjoyed being told the specials but I knew what I wanted. The charred octopus amazing. I do not like octopus but this didn't make me think I was eating octopus. The wedges were very lemony. I loved the pits chips and hummus. My pornstar martini was delicious. Cheesecake amazing. The sunset was gorgeous. I would sit outside next time & they have valet.

Came here for Father's Day dinner. We had reservations for 6 at 5:30pm. Reservations were easy to make via OpenTable. They valet parking in the lot or you can park in the metered lot half a block down. We were seated at our reservation time. Ambiance was nice with a Mediterranean feel. Servers were attentive. The restaurant did get pretty loud and lively after 7. What was disappointing to me was when the server told us a list of things they were out for night and we had early reservations. I can't imagine what it was like for ppl who had reservations at 7 and on. They were out of the pink snapper, dorado, bronzini and watermelon salad. I usually order the dorado when going to a Greek restaurant so I was a bit disappointed. But I decided to order the red snapper and the waiter comes back and says that was sold out also and the only fish they have left is the 2lb red snapper. We went with it and shared with the table. The fish was cooked perfectly, very tender and moist. The appetizers were also amazing. We ordered the zucchini/ eggplant chips and the grilled octopus. My daughter who is a picky eater loved the zucchini chips and kept asking for more. We were stuffed from dinner and didn't order dessert. I would come back again to try more things and hopefully on our next visit, they wont be out of everything.

We love the ambiance. The space was open and calm and not busy. Our waiter was the nicest old man, clearly old though. We had one too too many cocktails and drinks all good but nothing especially stood out. We ordered tuna, octopus, a Greek fish the nice old waiter recommended, oysters raw, and the lemon chicken soup. Every single bite was delicious. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the soup, but I need to come back and not drink so much so I can order the rest of the menu

The Long Island outpost of the flatiron fave lives up to the name. Was as much as a scene complete w dj, great food and great people to see and be seen! Service was impeccable. Attentive, personal and not intrusive at all. The hummus and pita bread was great. Greek salad for 2 a must. Fresh and drizzled with evoo does the trick. The sesame fried feta was a great play on baked Brie. It is topped with a fig compote sorta kinda thingamajiggy. Ex-Cell-ent. Sweet savory and nutty: absolute decadence. Tuna tartare was great too. And we also tried the pink snapper grilled. The kymatini was a great play the classic martini. The walnut cake was great as well similar to a carrot cake In flavor and texture. Both too sweet but very flavorful. If you're in Roslyn and looking for a great spot on the wkd highly encourage you hit up Kyma for a fun and flavorful night.

We have been coming here past few years for friends birthdays I guess it's a price fix birthday thing with unlimited drinks I don't really like the drinks because it taste like cheap alcohol in it and menu is limited it was $180 for a cheeseburger and the unlimited drinks (only had 2) although this is an occasional thing I just don't see the price being worth it even with the DJ etc. I feel like if we came not for a party type thing g the food selection may be better but this was my last year I will most likely not be back but a fun vibe. Service is good the waiters are definitely attentive

Planning on coming on a Friday night with a college friend I haven't seen in a few years. We have so much to catch up on so we don't want loud music / party vibes. Is Friday night a good day ? I know Thursdays and Sundays are known for their parties

Friday is a good night to go, but go earlier if you don't want a crazy crowd.

Ultimately, our experience ended up right in the middle--some hits, but a few noticeable misses that kept it from being a stellar meal. The Highlights: The Coffee: Easily the absolute star of the morning! Rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection--it was easily the best part of the entire visit. The Atmosphere & Service: The overall setting is lovely, and the staff kept things polite and attentive throughout our meal. Where It Fell Short: The Drinks & Food: We ordered virgin mojitos, but the orange juice base tasted surprisingly flat and off, almost like it had been sitting out too long. The Omelette: I ordered a classic omelette, and while the presentation was decent, the execution was just plain bland. It felt like it was lacking key seasoning or fresh herbs to give it life, making the whole dish feel pretty uninspired. All in all, it felt a bit sub-par compared to the usual Roslyn dining standards. That said, brunch can be hit-or-miss depending on the day, and I'd still be open to coming back to give their dinner menu or other options another chance.

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Like most three-course special menus, there are upcharges for various selections. Sometimes in retrospect I regret ordering three courses because a single entrée is sufficient. That was the case here because I was almost full after eating their chopped salad appetizer and the heated Italian bread and butter that preceded the entrée. I was surprised because an appetizer salad is often a small or medium sized plate, but here it's a full sized platter. Also, I ate it all, when I could've taken home half. Ditto for my entrée, their chicken marsala. I know that some of our friends purposely take home half of everything, so they get two meals out of one order. My decision, however, piggy as sounds, was that one of their included desserts was the tiramisu, which I have trouble resisting ... to the point where I try to sample them in as many restaurants and bakeries as possible, as if someday, somewhere, I'll submit an article on the subject ... "Tiramisus of Long Island and NYC." The food and service were very good, we had a large round table in the back, that made it easy for us to talk, a nice tablecloth and thick napkins, but I've had better tiramisu. A free glass of white or red wine came with the special, but I didn't like mine and should, like my son, have gotten a diet Coke instead (a permissible substitution). The parking situation was a minor hassle in that there was no valet, and while a sign in front of the restaurant suggested parking in the lot across the street, when we went there, the signs said that after 5:30 PM they'll tow you away, so we found a spot in the neighborhood and walked a few blocks. We'd be happy to go back, although there are Italian restaurants just as good that are closer to where we live. This Matteo's was half way between where we five reside, and convenience matters, especially on a weekday night.
