I had a glass of Bordeaux to accompany the meal He got Poulet Chardonnay which impressed him with the tenderness of the chicken and how everything came together. I got the plat du jour of cote de boeuf, of these rich short ribs over the creamy risotto, which had a finely braised, umami mixture of robust and creamy textured. We came here on Easter Sunday (my birthday.) Super delicious brunch! I ordered the snails which were garlicky and buttery. I could not stop tearing off bits of bread to finish off the garlicky goodness. Next, I had the Frisee salad with a poached egg and lardons. The egg was perfectly cooked and there were lots of lardons. The salad satisfied my bacon craving.The salad was plentiful and I ate every last bit. I toasted my birthday with a nice glass of Chardonnay. My husband had the apple stuffed French toast. He said it was the best French toast if ever had. I had a bite. It's quite decadent. Myself and my significant other decided to stop by here after seeing a post on instagram. We walked in on a Tuesday afternoon. We made reservations the day prior because we didn't know if it would be busy. We were here at 12:08 and got seated before our reservation time (12:15). We started off with a bottle of Acqua Panna, which was served in a wine glass (BONUS POINTS.) and a Belgian chocolate hot chocolate. WOW. It was absolutely delicious extremely RICH and came with a side of house made whipped cream, which definitely hit the spot. It was thick and dense. (Non dairy options are not available). We also were served bread to start. For appetizers we had a Nutella crepe, however there were no bananas at the moment so I had extra strawberries in mine. The Tarte a L'oignon, which was a cute play on Soupe a L'oignon. It was delicious, and served hot. We had the Sole Meunière Traditionnelle which was a filet of sole, with noisette potatoes, French string beans and lemon brown butter sauce. The fish easy to cut through with just the side of the fork. There wasn't too much lemon, but it was buttery and full of flavor. We also had the Sandwich Bouchere which had sliced filet mignon, mozzarella, on a baguette (without pickled red onions). The filet was tender, beautifully cooked au jus. You can tell everything is fresh, and food was well executed. Everything was vibrant, and flavors popped. Fantastic dinner at LPF. The hostess, the owner Alessandra was so gracious. She kept coming over to our table to make sure everything was ok. Our server Jackie was friendly, attentive and accommodating. We started with traditional French appetizers, escargot and onion soup. Some of the best we ever had. For entrees we had the coquilles et crevettes, shrimp and scallops with leeks, mushrooms and corn in a truffle cream sauce which was so flavorful and the hanger steak with bordelaise sauce, chive mashed potatoes and asparagus. Such a beautiful cafe to visit. I watched an Instagram reel and that's how we got there. My best friend made reservations for my birthday yesterday at 1 and we were seated promptly. The server was good but we waited a very, very long time for our food and then waited again for the hot chocolate for even longer. They came to apologize a few times, explaining that they ran out but it ruined the moment as our desserts were there before the Belgian hot chocolate. These should have been comped, that's how long we waited. The ambiance was beautiful but not the wait for everything. I used to come here 15 years ago more during the previous ownership. In my opinion it was better then. The food was good but not great and I don't feel a need to come here again anytime soon. I had the permetier and it was good but nothing special. That was true for all of the food we tried: the tagliatelle beef borboignon, the cote de beuf, the garlic soup, the French onion soup. We came with another couple and I also forgot how small the restaurant is and how often you hear sirens go by on a Saturday night. They decorate it well with the mirrors and decor to try to hide it but it's very small and the parking situation isn't that convenient. The service is very friendly though and they were cool with how we lingered until closing catching up. The wine pours were also decent. My friends said they enjoy the brunch a lot more. read more

I ended up at La P'tite Framboise after leaving a disappointing experience nearby -- and what a blessing in disguise. This cozy, family-owned French spot turned everything around. Even though it was busy, we were warmly greeted and seated at the bar. From the start, the service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They brought out warm baguette with butter and the most delicious chicken liver mousse -- I was hooked. Then they surprised us with a complimentary little plate of olives and freshly scooped cheese (straight from a giant cheese wheel!) as a snack with our drinks. Like... how thoughtful and charming is that? We had escargot and clams for apps, then halibut and duck breast for mains. The portions were generous, the duck was perfectly medium rare and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Everything was flavorful and beautifully done. The drinks were also on point -- simple, balanced, and consistent. Honestly, this place rivals -- if not beats -- some of the French restaurants I've been to in Manhattan. This was my first visit with my mom and partner, and we left very pleased with the service and the food. Our server was Cameron, and she was so attentive, polite, and good humored. We started with the SALADE CHÈVRE which was delicious! Following that we had French onion soup and escargot. Exquisite! For our main courses we had pork chops (no applesauce for those familiar with the Brady Bunch), POULET FARCI D'ÉTE and, TAGLIATELLE AU BOEUF BOURGUIGNON. It's been too long since I've been back. I'm glad it's still as good as I remember. Complimentary warm baguettes with butter and pate when you settle in. Menu remains unchanged for the most part... Think PEI mussels, French onion soup, escargot and steak tartare just to name a few favorites. Entrees such as Duck l'orange and steak au poivre are classics. They offer daily specials and on Sunday's, they feature the cassoulet. I'm going to have to return to try; it's a heavy dish so it's best during the colder months. Jacqueline was our waitress for the evening. She was attentive and checked on us often even as we waited for our food throughout the evening. The kitchen was running a little behind we noticed from the surrounding tables still waiting on entrees. Good thing we ordered appetizers (and we were never rushed to finish eating those) - because there was a bit of a wait for the entrees for everyone that night. It was a pretty packed house. When you're dining in French cuisine, Escargot seems to be a must, this one didn't disappoint. Butter and olive oil was the base. Sinfully good. Also we ordered the burrata with a delightful butternut squash. It was excellent! Onion Tart was a classic and great for sharing. Onto the entrees, I thoroughly enjoyed my hangar steak. The surprise was the "green" mashed potatoes... Sweet and buttery. Funny because it was green. Duck L'Orange was a favorite at the table, tender and juicy. The hearty paella was the perfect entree for the seafood lover; quite the generous portion too. It was a lot. I don't know how but we somehow managed to pack in dessert after all that food. Profiteroles, sorbet and lava cake - all were good. I totally recommend the lava cake if you want to indulge. The staff here are incredible! It's a really cute location too. I was here the other day and really enjoyed everything we ordered from appetizers to mains with one tiny exception. One of the dishes (on special) had amazing flavor, but the protein in it was just cooked a little too much and a little dry. Which was a shame as we loved the dish otherwise. Finally got to come in for brunch after following them on Instagram a bit ago and it was everything I didn't know I needed and more!! Was greeting by the owner and shown to our table right away. The place is so cute inside. Our server Sarah was so great and helpful with the menu and recommendations. We decided to get a smorgasbord of things. Framboise martinis were the best! They leave the shaker so you get almost another full glass. We had the French onion soup with was everything I think of when I think of French Onion soup! So much delicious Gruyère cheese and the broth was flavorful. Escargot was seasoned beautifully and full of flavor too. Moved on to the Crepe with mushrooms and goat cheese. They pack it to the max with cheese Ave mushrooms. The apple stuffed French toast was to DIE for!! So huge and tasty with the crème patisserie. Short rib Benedict was out of this world! I have been a patron of La P'Tite Framboise for years now. My love affair with their cuisine was confirmed after my first taste of their nutella stuffed French toast. Situated in a cozy spot in the heart of Port Washington, this is my favorite place to dine for French food on Long Island. I go there for brunch, to scratch my itch for French food, or for their Mussels Monday. Most recently, I was there to enjoy their Mussels Monday special. For $39, you get a glass of wine or beer and a huge pot of mussels, prepared one of at least 8 ways, with fries. I selected the gorgonzola version and was blown away. My friend had the one with chorizo, which I was able to sample as well. Mussels are tough to prepare--not as easy as you'd think. All of our mussel entrees included fresh mussels that did not have that lousy fishy taste that some venues with lower quality ingredients serve. The fries were hot, crispy and salted appropriately. I enjoyed the first moments of the meal while sipping my glass of white wine, appreciating the French bistro music playing overhead and people-watching the stream of regulars and newbies alike walking through the front door. We ended our meal with their stuffed croissant. It was HUGE! I'd say I'd share it the next time I get it, but then again, it was one of the freshest and best desserts I've had in a while, so maybe I won't. :-) For consistent, authentic, and moderately priced French cuisine, I HIGHLY recommend La P'Tite Framboise. read more

My family from CT came to visit us for the Fourth of July and we had brunch this morning at La Petite Framboise. Earlier in the season I saw posts for their new stuffed French toast (lemon ganache and chantilly cream) and I knew I needed to try it. I previously have tried their crème brûlée and Nutella stuffed French toast and I always walk out feeling pleasantly full or taking leftovers. The lemon ganache and chantilly cream is much lighter and a perfect balance for the fluffy brioche. We had a double dinner date here on Friday evening and it was an excellent experience, all in all. We arrived on time and our table was ready. It was a full house, so we were happy that we didn't have any waiting time. Our server, Tehya, promptly greeted us and she was timely and pleasant throughout the evening. She also gave solid recommendations and we never had to wait long for anything. For an hors d'oeuvre, I shared the Escargots persillée with my buddy. To be honest, it was my first time having escargot so I didn't know what to expect. Any apprehension I may have had quickly disappeared and I enjoyed it very much. For my entrée, I went with Coquilles Et Crevettes (Seared shrimp and scallops, oyster mushroooms, leeks, sweet corn fricassée, true cream sauce) and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection and tasted very fresh. The vegetables were also assembled well and were well balanced. The dish was hearty but without making me feel too full or guilty afterwards. For dessert, I had Profiteroles Au Chocolat, and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The cream puffs were of perfect consistency and the ice crem a perfect companion. The owner was a sweet lady and she was kind enough to take a few pics of our party to close out the evening. She invited us back with a smile and told us about the specials they have throughout the week. We will most certainly be happy to return. A few closing thoughts: - The space is not huge, but they don't pack you in like sardines - The menu is diverse enough to accommodate a variety of palates - They have a bar area with several seats that were also fully occupied - There is no parking lot that we noticed and it took us a few minutes to circle back around on the street but we were not too far away (for our 7:15 PM reservation) - We love supporting small & family-owned businesses and this place checked all the boxes for us - They have a fantastic looking weekend brunch menu so the debate is if we come back next time for brunch or another dinner. I've wanted to try La P'tite Framboise for a few years. I was skeptical because of the mixed reviews. I'm happy to say that this restaurant didn't disappoint and exceeded my expectations! The brasserie ambience is charming, the wait staff very attentive, and everything we ate was delicious. My friend and I shared the fondue, which I thought would just be so-so... but it was so tasty and came with steak, brussel sprouts, and bread for dipping. The warm rolls and pate served at the beginning are so good. I ordered the salmon with a mustard crust served over lentils - I was surprised how much I enjoyed it and it was cooked exactly how I asked. Let's not forget our dessert... was out of this world! We shared the profiteroles, which came with ice cream. Each bite was decadent and perfect. We didn't leave any of the cream or even a crumb, that's how good it was! Cute little restaurant in town. The bar has about 10 seats with high stools that make eating and sitting at the bar extremely comfortable. The bloody Mary's are horseradish forward which I love. But it has a kick so be prepared. The mimosas are strong and delicious. Food was served fast and hot. They start you with some pieces of warm baguette along with a perfectly salted butter. You get a small croissant as well. The onion soup was exactly what you would expect. Piping hot and delicious. The mussels were amazing. We finished off with a creamy custard crème brûlée.
