My friends and I came in for late lunch after playing pickleball one weekend. What a pleasant surprise and good find, the food was pretty good. We ordered Tsouteki French Toast(meh), Kataifii Salad(pretty good) and Fave w/ Pita(love) for starters. The Kontosouvli (Marinated Pork) Skillet entree was tasty, and Chicken Haloumi Sandwich was good as well. We all left with a happy stomach! read more

Almost three years ago, I decided to take the LIRR to Manhasset and came across this place. I was greeted by Georgios who also was my server. The restaurant was small and a portion of this place is also a store. It's a great lowkey place to hold a party up to 20 people at most. The service was personal and great (there were only two diners when I was there). I had a glass of Greek white wine and it paired well with the trio of dips, salmon with spinach orzo and galaktoboureko. Portions were generous because I definitely took leftovers home. Service is fabulous. We got an appetizer and one entree to split during the lunch. Its quiet and chill. The server suggested the fava bean with the pita bread as appetizers. It's so creamy and flavored with good olive oil. The pork skewers was so tender The grilled vegetables are well charred and juicy at the same time. We end up order one more side order for that. I love greek cafes and this one is one of them. They have all sorts of greek treats on the menu. I only tried the baklava and frappe. Loved both of them. Next time I am going to try the breakfast. Yum! We loved Herb & Olive. The fresh, warm homemade pita bread is true comfort food. Perfect texture and flavor. I could eat it all day. It was delicious with the tzatziki dip and shakshuka for brunch. The tzatziki dip was creamy and had the perfect blend of yogurt, cucumbers and herbs. The shakshuka hit the spot. The sauce was well seasoned and the eggs were runny which is perfect for dipping the pita bread in. The venue is very inviting. There's some small tables and a wall of goods for sale when you walk into the restaurant. Towards the back are larger tables for sitting large groups. The modern design is fresh and clean. I enjoyed my leisurely dinner on a beautiful early summer Friday. We were able to share a meal, drink some wine and have great conversation without feeling rushed. It was a very enjoyable meal. We ordered a couple of glasses of Greek white wine (I don't remember exactly but it was really good). We ordered from dishes to share. Horiatiki salad is must when getting Greek and they do a solid version here - very fresh veges. The shrimps with orzo was fantastic - the creamy tomato sauce coating perfect risotto left quite an impression. The papoutsakia was a nice nostalgia dish that we enjoyed. The grilled veges side were a perfect accompaniment which I am glad we added. For dessert, we shared the galaktaboureko which was a great version. There was plentiful parking in the back. The only possible drawback that some people might have is that it can be on the pricey side, but it is cheaper than a plane ticket to Greece. read more

We had a delicious lunch at Herb & Olive, our first time there. The ambiance is so comfortable and inviting. George the owner is a wonderful host with such a gentle soul. He's so pleasant and accommodating. The food is fresh and flavorful. We had the veggie chips which are fried, not greasy with a tasty tzatziki sauce. The beet salad was very good, we added falafel. We had grilled cheese and added the Greek sausage and truffle spread. It was an explosion in your mouth. For dessert we had the Galaktoboureko which was made fresh. It might have been the best dessert I ever tasted. They have a nice wine and cocktail menu. You can purchase Greek products too. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Nice little Greek restaurant in Manhasset - modern interior with a solid menu of small plates. Service is quick and friendly. Their appetizer pita bread is very fresh and comes with a fava bean hummus that's different and delicious. I had the french toast with a side of sausage, as it was brunchtime, and it was hot, fluffy and tasty. The chicken mini pitas were more substantial and were quite tender (so easy to overcook!). For dessert, we had the galaktoboureko (custard cinnamon pie) that was very good. This is a restaurant we will definitely add to our rotation in this area! read more

A friend and I ate at Herb and Olive for only the second time last night which is unusual considering I live down the block and it gets rave reviews! I guarantee I will be back before too long! The service was very friendly and helpful. We shared hummus with warm pita and Shrimp Youvetsi which was ample for our appetites but when the waiter described the dessert - Galaktoboureko, a custard cinnamon pie - we could not resist. The ambiance was loud but that is not the norm for this restaurant. They had a live band last night which we were told only happens every "month and a half." We loved the band although we really expected to be able to talk and catch up with one another. But the band was fun (80s music so our style!). Definitely a five star restaurant. Overview: Herb&Olive is a lovely restaurant with a modern setting and pretty tasty dishes. The service is pretty good. I would say that this place is on the pricey side but you should definitely consider trying it. However, beware that the appetizers and desserts are not super worth it for their prices. Space: The space was nice with a modern feel and a lot of little plants. They also are a cafe and market too based on what I saw. Fava: We ordered the fava because it was recommended by the waiter and the waiter made it seem like a "must try." It was not spectacular and very expensive for what it was. $12 for dip and pita. We finished the pita but still had leftover dip so when the waiter asked us if we wanted more pita we said yes. We were not aware or notified that it would cost another $2, and there was no mention of this on the menu either. Was pretty disappointed with this dish and don't recommend it. Pasta Garides: Was already leaning towards ordering this but the waiter also recommended this. This was amazing. It was delicious. If you go, I kid you not - you have to order this. It was very heavy however, so if you're looking for something light this might not be it. Try their branzino instead! Solomos (Salmon): This dish was okay but wasn't great. Pan-Seared Branzino: Delicious! Pretty light and healthy. Would recommend. There was also a dessert that the waiter told us was "fresh out of the oven" and he said it was pretty good so we tried it - I'm not sure of the name - but it wasn't all that great and on the sweet side. I came here for lunch with my mom. It is very pricey for a salad with salmon. It's suppose to be more of a casual, quick take out type place although you can sit and be served. The food was delicious, however, because of the prices, I wouldn't be back. I have eaten out at fine dining places for lunch and didn't even spend this much. The owner was really lovely and spoke with us at the end and heard how we felt about the pricing. The food is all high quality and organic. read more

Herb & olive is definitely an amazing Greek restaurant. The food is so rich and punched with flavor . Unfortunately I never sat inside to eat I have only ever gotten it delivered via door dash but I can say any time I would def it I would be so happy . My typical meal with chops with mashed potatoes or some times I would get the shrimp with rice . Any time I drive by them the ambiance from outside is really cute , it's decorated really classy and well. There's plenty of street parking so that wouldn't be an issue . read more

Great restaurant for Greek and Mediterranean food. They have a nice set up with the front of the store that opens up to let in a nice breeze. There is a small market where you can buy an array of items that won't be found elsewhere. It's great to experience the variety of flavors that they have. The food was really good and nicely flavored. It's a bit more upscale than some other Greek restaurants in Queens and Long Island. The price was a bit high though for what you get. The service was good. The restaurant looks really nice and has nice decor. Parking is street parking out front and on the sides, no parking lot available. read more

Beautiful open space with a small store in the front. We came with a large group with reservations and the food and service was superb. We had a bunch of apps to share including the Tzatziki, falafel, and cheese croquette. For main, we had the salmon, Konstosouvli (marinated pork skewer) and shared the mushroom risotto. HIGHLY recommend the pork skewer. It's a pretty hefty portion, and it's delicious with the accompanying grilled veggie sides. They also have an extensive wine list but i'm currently not drinking. The host of the party bought us a selection of homemade baked goods from the front of the store and it was super tasty, not too sweet! Will be back! read more

Wow I expected a lot better quality food for what i paid for. The staff was very nice and attentive and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. But the mushroom risotto i ordered was horrible. It was like a soup and the risotto tasted like stale rice instead of actual risotto. The beet salad had beets prepared in overly large chunks that was hard to eat with the salad greens, which were also in large chunks rather than chopped. To top it off the 10dollar baklava was dry...dry! I couldnt believe it. It tasted like frozen dessert that was microwaved. read more

My husband and I brought another couple here for dinner. It was their first time. The food and service could not have been better! The calamari, humus and Greek salad and the 'cheese balls' (sorry forgot the Greek name) were amazing appetizers! The lamb chops and lemon potatoes were beautifully presented and excellent! My bronzino was fabulous along with the tasty salad! The desserts were fabulous! All this was served with the most friendly and accommodating service! George, the owner, and Stella, our waitress were so genuine and gracious, as if we were visiting their home! It was the perfect atmosphere; we were able to carry on a conversation without the buzz of noise around us. We visited Herb & Olive a few days ago as the reviews were pretty good. The lamb chops were fatty and greasy, well done when ordered medium pink. The Salmon steak was too oily, but the accompanying Rice with Spinach was delicious. Two orders of Country type salad with a side of grilled Chicken were very tasty. We also had the fried eggplant with dip which was different and delicious, and nice the Honey cake dessert was fantastic. The prices were high for the food and place, as this is an upscale Greek Coffee Shop. Amateur service, bare table with tools wrapped in a napkin. Herb is in a great local, with parking in the rear, modern clean look and the offerings are vast and just OK. The staff were all very pleasant. read more

Across the two visits we had a few different sandwiches (grilled cheese, chicken & halloumi and prosciutto) and salads (beet and horiatiki) - everything was really well prepared, fresh and enjoyable. Our servers each time were really friendly and helpful in addressing any questions we had about the menu and the service was efficient even though both times we were there it was pretty crowded. I don't get the hype. Maybe it was the options I ordered? Perhaps I came on an off day? My family and I came here on a Sunday night for dinner. This is a casual eatery with Greek and Middle Eastern fare. When you walk in, the restaurant looks like a mini market with Greek goods, but there's a couple of tables in the back for dining. They also have an outdoor patio. For our appetizers, we ordered the Falafel Sliders and Kefte Sliders. The Falafel Sliders were tasty but the Kefte Sliders were a bit on the dry side and slightly overcooked. For my main course, I ordered the Mini Pita with Pork- comes with French fries on the side. The tzatziki was good but the pork tasted very dry and mediocre. $18 for 2 small gyros also wasn't really worth the price point when you can get a large gyro for the equivalency of $3 in Greece. The menu states that there's smoked paprika inside of the pita, but I couldn't taste any. The French fries were decent though. My mom ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast for her main course, which was also very dry. My sister ordered the Pesto Gnocchi, which was probably the best dish out of everything ordered - had a nice pesto taste. Kudos to the friendly and attentive server. However, I felt as if we got food from a different restaurant than everyone else. Hope they make the food more authentic and flavorful so I could make a return visit. read more

What a cute place! Had my birthday dinner here a couple nights ago, and everything was outstanding. I love Greek food and nothing disappointed. The dip trio was to die for, especially their homemade pita. I ordered a "Beautiful Me" prosecco and Curacao drink which was refreshing and vibrant. For dinner I had the strawberry salad and added beets. Everything was so fresh, and the portions were huge. We also ordered the pulled pork and mac and cheese which was so good and so cheesy, and the bifteki, which may have been my second favorite after the dip. The beef had such a good flavor. They have different menus depending on the time you go, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try the sandwiches they have available until 4pm. For dessert I tried the Bougatsa which was so good and HUGE! It came with two huge squares. Our waitress, Aphrodite, was also very nice and attentive, and put together a plate of various Greek desserts and cookies. I left stuffed!! This restaurant also doubles as a Greek grocery.
