Cute little restaurant in Great Neck. We had an aberrant experience- the restaurant was totally overwhelmed for Mother's Day. The kitchen was really backed up, they served us at different times and then mixed up part of our order. It took them a while, but they did the right thing by giving us some spreads and comping us for the screwed up entree. Having said that, the staff were lovely and the food was amazing. The dips were great. The entrees were awesome. I had possibly the best shawarma ever. The shakshuka and falafel were excellent. If not for the miscues, this is a five star restaurant. Went here this week as it was Kosher for Passover. It's a tight squeeze in the restaurants, tables very close together. Service was good. It is a little pricey for sure, but that said , the food was excellent ! My shawarma over arugula and cabbage was amazing! Was disappointed that during Passover they wouldn't put some matzah on the table. They would only give you matzah if you got an appetizer , which we really didn't want. Kinda thought that was cheap. Parking is on the street, with meters 25 cents for 1/2 an hour, not bad. After 6 you don't need to pay a meter. read more

We tried calling the restaurant to place an order, which sends you to their app. We ordered on the app and came half an hour later for a pick up. Nothing was ready & part of the order was not available which they blamed us for .( picked from the wrong menu) We gave up after 45 minutes of waiting in the restaurant. I came here with some friends after work and service is warm and friendly, although not always knowledgeable. The food is excellent: the chicken shawarma is warm and you can choose the spice level! The falafel hummus is delicious! The cold appetizer mixture is very nice. Interesting dish of stuffed schnitzel - my friend liked it. Atmosphere is nice and gregarious. Come earlier because as the night goes on, it can get very noisy! Overall I do recommend. read more

TLDR: I've only been for brunch but I now no longer need to trek to the city for an Iraeli-ish cafe. If you like middle eastern food, complimentary dips! Arayas, shakshuka. So good. I'm not sure how we ended up here but I really like this place. In fact, I find myself craving this pretty often. Typically I'd have to head into the city to get this type of food but now - I can pop over to Great Neck! I appreciate the massive complimentary bread with the miniature salatim you get. The arayas are awesome. Stuffed pita with kebab that's been grilled over. Pickled onions, sauce, what's not to love. I've also grown quite fond of the shakshuka with the merguez sausage. It's spicy, it's tangy, savory, the eggs with all that sauce are super delicious. The smoked eggplant wasn't too shabby either. Seriously - if you're into this type of cuisine, look no further. This place is a must go!! Just went for the first time last night and was floored! Everything was so tasty, from the simple (falafel, humus, babaganoush), the apps (charred cauliflower in a beet sauce, meat pita bites called arays), the entrees (chicken shawarma, lamb cubes over couscous), and the desserts (halava pudding-ish thing, walnut baklava & chocolate babka). My friend and I get to meet up only once every few months to catch up and since we are foodies, we always try new restaurants. I had high hopes for Paprika based on the pictures and reviews here on Yelp. That's why we were so shocked at the service we received. Food was fine - the Israeli salad definitely was not fresh FYI. I initially walked in to an empty restaurant and the supervisor/host wanted to seat us at a table in the middle of the restaurant. I asked for a table near the window and he showed me to the table and it was quite confusing if we were getting both tables (set for 4) or if he wanted me to move the table for 2 myself. He then called a server over and spoke in another language that they will take 2 of the place settings away. Not awful but quite confusing. Overall, the wait staff was disengaged and gave no direction on how to the menu is a tablet menu and that we should place orders through him and was difficult to get water to our table. Our appetizers came out extremely quickly and as we were eating the apps, they wanted to take our plates away mid-bite. Of course the entrees came out when only a few minutes after our app and they tried to put all the dishes on 1 table when there was a second table attached to ours. We called the host over and explained to him what just happened and he explained how it was only his 3rd day and then said "How would you like me to resolve this?". We just had lunch at Paprika in Great Neck. The service is professional and friendly. The food was delicious. Upon arrival we were promptly seated we were brought an assortment of salatim. There was hummus, eggplant salad, tabouleh, pepper salad, pickled red cabbage and of course Flat bread. It was all so fresh tasting. We ordered a Schwarma sandwich that was very large , which we shared, and an appetizer of like an Israeli taco, which we also shared, there was more than enough food. Every single detail of the restaurant from the soap to the decor and food is 5 stars. The hospitality 10 stars!!! They sent over this and that on the house with big smiles and they just love what they do. You will truly enjoy this place the vibe feels like your on vacation somewhere or in the coolest spot in Manhattan.......really really impressed!!!! Having tried Paprika last night, I believe that it has a long future ahead of it in Great Neck. Restaurants that survive and thrive in Great Neck must be able to cater to a broad spectrum of patrons as well as provide a unique experience and terrific food. Paprika has that in spades. Review of Paprika Restaurant 8 Bond St, Great Neck, NY 11021 The other night, my girlfriend and I decided to go to dinner at the relatively new kosher restaurant in Great Neck--featuring Mediterranean and Moroccan food. When we entered at 6 p.m., there were perhaps three or four diners already there. But we were told that if they seated us, we would have to leave in an hour-and-a-half because of the reservations they had committed to. The restaurant was physically attractive, with good, muted lighting, and a menu offering many delectable dishes. We decided to split an Israeli salad, which was delicious but could have served four truck drivers--very ample portions. My lamb chops and mashed potatoes were delicious, and my friend enjoyed her chicken dish as well. But before we could order dessert or coffee, the waiter told us we had to leave! Our time was up! We looked around at well over a dozen empty tables and chairs in our room alone (and many empty seats in the adjoining room), but he stood over us as if we were criminals and would not move until we paid the bill and left. My friend is a medical doctor who has traveled the world for decades delivering lectures and demonstrations in her specialty. She has literally eaten in the finest restaurants in Europe, Asia, South America, and America...and has never ever been kicked out of a restaurant before. I don't have the same pedigree, but I have eaten in my share of wonderful restaurants and, like her, have never ever been literally kicked out of a restaurant before. When I spoke to the icy manager of the restaurant, and pointed out the dozens of empty chairs, he told me the equivalent of "I'm just following orders." Great Neck has many excellent kosher restaurants-- Café Kriza, Chattanooga, Cho-Sen Village, Colbeh, Dagim, Elite Pizza, Grill Time, Shiraz--and I have been to enough of them to attest to the fact that not one of them ever kicked out a customer! Went to Paprika for dinner, not realizing we needed a reservation. Luckily a couple no-showed so we got their table and I'm so glad we did! Everything we had was amazing. We ordered the cauliflower over beet techina , the arayes and majnuna for apps. Then the shimdura came out and we were wowed. Each dish was special and unique in its own way and all were delicious. For dessert we had the babka, which was another winner. The place is beautiful, music is great and the servers are attentive and warm. From sitting us to the food, service and ambience, I was disappointed, somewhat angry but mostly disappointed. I was sited by the bathroom when specifically asked over the phone to be sited a way from the bathroom or the door. When asked the manager for a different table was answered there are none, the restaurant was empty, except two tables. Terrible side table manners, not a client friendly. The manager was not fazed, when we decided to leave. As a matter of fact he was relieved. Say the least, we will not visit this restaurant again. -0 stars. read more

First time eating at Paprika. It will certainly be the last time. The service was awful -- to say I was rushed through the meal is an understatement. I still have indigestion an hour after my wife and I left the restaurant. My entree was served about 5 minutes after the appetizer. We had barely eaten half the appetizer at that point. WhenI told the waiter to talk the entree back until I had finished the appetizer I was informed the meal would get cold. Does the chef have any idea how to pace the cooking? I think not. Then, later, when the entree was served, it was quite warm -- and dry and hard. It clearly had sat under the heat lamp waiting for me to finish my appetizer. For $38 I expect better, much better. Of course, once we had finished our entree the waiter immediately cleared our plates and, under claim of cleaning our table for us, took away the paper lining the table. Of course, the table itself was quite messed but the waiter never even tried to clean it. Clearly, they just wanted us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible to seat another group of unwitting patrons. Fool me once shame on you. Fook me twice shame on me. I won't make the same mistake again. This restaurant is definitely not for me. read more

Let's start with the good. If based on food, this would be 5 stars. The food was excellent. It's pricy but the portions were generous, and the food was prepared extremely well and very fresh. Everything is plated beautifully and it's just very good. I can't stress this enough, it's very good. The decor is nice, it's a mix of Moroccan and Mediterranean. Lots of mosaic work, gold, blues, and candles. Overall, very pretty. The service is good too. The servers are all friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend that the restaurant have the staff taste all the foods. We asked about the special rice, and they said it was sweet but it was not sweet at all. It was very delicious but not sweetened with orange juice like our server thought. Now for the bad... We went on a Monday night, we made reservations and were seated next to an influencer's table and another large table that was there for a birthday party. When they seated the larger party, they blasted the music. It was beyond loud and obnoxious. We asked them to turn down the music several times and they did but it kept creeping back to full obnoxious volume eventually. On top of the music, we were seated by the bar and every few minutes they made blended drinks like 6 feet away from our table. It really ruined the experience of the place. When I spoke to the manager, he said well this is the "vibe" of the place, like I was wrong and the obnoxious noise level was right. It's not a night club or the beaches of Tel Aviv, it's suburban restaurant. I wasn't expecting a quiet place, I wanted the music and vibes but this was on another level loud and the way the manager dismissed our tables complaints like we were unreasonable did not sit right with me. Maybe feeling like you are sitting next to jumbo speakers at a concert is your vibe but if most of the people in your restaurant don't want it, you can accommodate them and turn it down. read more
