I came here for an engagement party so it was a private event. It is great for private events, you get an entire private hall and people eat buffet style. You can have a DJ so there is music and dancing. The food was delicious. read more

I'm from LA and come to NY often. I have to say I was delighted that my family took me out to Chattanooga instead of Colbeh. When I used to go to Colbeh 10 years ago the food was good. Bows it's straight MSG and you're burping Kabob for the next day. Chattanooga had amazing Barg. Soft on the inside crispy outside. Koobideh just the right consistency. Everything super fresh. Just wanted to keep eating lol. I'm not Kosher but my wife is so when I'm with her I always go for kosher options. So I have a larger base of comparisons. I can easily say this is up there with Rafi's place in LA which is the highest rated place in LA. This place is a no thrills of frills kind of pace. Not there for the ambiance. Chattanooga's food is outstanding, and some of the best I have ever eaten. My family loves going here. I always enjoy the jujeh kabob and my parents love the barg and the kabob. They bring taadig and pickles on the house so you could enjoy that before your meal comes out. The tables have white tablecloths and there is a lot of space. For dessert we love getting zooloobia, baklava, fruit pieces, and tea. i've gone here for family birthdays and they bring out a large of delicious cake for you and play a birthday song which is nice. The music is traditional Persian music. Fyi, everyone in the restaurant is going to be Persian, and with their families. Service is wonderful. Enjoy!!! read more

Very good Persian food, all the times that I've been, except my most recent (which is why I knocked it down to four stars)... I've found the food to be rather salty especially the split chickpeas dish surrounded with the red sauce/broth. I've noticed that when food is very salty I have a higher risk for food poisoning... not good! I hope that Chatanooga Restaurant will see this review, and consider checking their ingredients for freshness! Other than the above, I strongly recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for good eats! read more

This is a place we have been going to for years when we eat out with friends and family who are kosher and like Persian food. I personally love Persian food and feel that this is a good option for those who like Persian and one kosher.that said, I think that it is not the best value and not the tastiest Persian option. I much prefer Persian Grill in Roslyn Heights which has authentic lamb dishes that this place does not. Not serving lamb is a big negative for me not to mention the hefty prices. It's also very often a quiet if not dead spot and doesn't have a fun atmosphere inside. Little things are also off with this place. There eggplant stew is very sour and the portions were scant. That said, we still couldn't finish it because of the taste whereas we regularly get the dish and other Persian restaurants.The most important dish is of course the rice and they do the race very well here. It was a different style than I am used to, but it was very good.we will continue to come back here when Kosher is required but I hope that is not anytime soon read more

The restaurant needs a complete renovation inside & out. The food was mediocre. We ordered the sea bass & it was terrible. It didn't taste like sea bass. The salmon kebab wasn't great either. Great across the board experience. This restaurant and it commitment to excellence is so far ahead of the rest of the Persian restaurants its not even funny. The food quality and flavors are fantastic. The spices preparation could not be any better . I suspect that several phony yelp reviews have lowered the yelp ratings. Don't believe any bogus negative review. They are plants and unfortunately have not been removed. The husband and wife that own this meca of great Persian food are top notch and deliver everyday. You will really enjoy every item on the menu. We had a takeout order recently and the food was finger licking great for 2 days . 5 plus stars for food service and value. This restaurant is the perfect example of reasons why you should not be spontaneously reserving a party without checking out the food on the menu: Food was salty Kabob was without flavor and meat was rough...if you have dentures - would recommend they put it in a blender for you... The chicken kabob was dry. Great fries and rice - both of which I can make at home. Cake was good.... thank goodness for the good old microwave (yes, it was rock solid) The manager did mention everyone likes it like ice-cream. Think Kosher and Persian when you hear Chatanooga! The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was beyond my expectations. I ordered food for my synagogue's Friday night dinner to be held at the shul just before Purim. I expected the food to arrive in containers and had set aside time to prepare it for the buffet tables. What an amazing surprise to have everything table ready! Manny, the owner, sent all the cold appetizers on beautifully prepared platters, and the hot main course came in foil pans ready for the heating racks. I came here with my boss during passover and was really disappointed. The staff seemed overwhelmed and totally out of it despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't even half full. The appetizers we ordered never arrived, and the steaks we ordered, although relatively tasty, were way, way overcooked. To make matters worse, it's pretty expensive (Great Neck...). On 09/17/2020 from 7:32 PM till 9:43 PM I was there throwing a Birthday Party for an Amazing person and her family and we had the best time laughing and talking and Joking and Giving Presents, the 2 Waiters were Excellent and brought out 8 different desserts after dinner from the menu...ALL OF THEM (on the house by Manny!) and we lit up 11 candles and sang Happy Birthday so loudly (we were outside on the middle table). Manny the Owner was the BEST!!! Thank you Manny and the Amazing waiters for the Amazing food, experience, and adventure, we will remember it forever and we will watch the video and audio of course all the time. read more

Had a reservation for over 30 people for a Holiday Dinner party for a doctor's office. My boss called 2 days before to confirm, which they did. Showed up to the restaurant 20 minutes before the start of the party and the hostess/manager or owner ushered us to a table set for 6. When I told her we had a reservation for over 30 people she then told us our party was across the street at the Great Neck Inn. I told her that is not accurate. We had a reservation for here, for a doctor's office Holiday party. I showed her the informal invitiation we made for the office that was printed over 2 weeks ago. She then proceeded to ask me who made the invitation, when was this given... etc? I told her it doesn't matter, my office manager called to confirm in which it was 2 days ago. She then got nasty with me and denied any confirmation. She said the reservation was for 6 doctors, and I corrected her that it was 6 doctors, plus 30 staff. I called my office manager to tell her what was happening and the woman took the phone out of my hand. She came back white as a ghost without my phone and told us she would be setting us up in the back room. My office manager and office administrator showed up right away and had an all out scream and yell fest with the manager who was very rude and unprofessional. She was completely unapologetic and offered no remorse whatsoever. When everyone else started to arrive they were still setting up the tables. Long story short, everything was delayed. They had to set up the bar, rush all of the appetizers and food orders, we were missing forks, drinks, plates and glasses. I know it was last minute for them because they clearly made a mistake but couldn't admit it and wouldn't even sympathize. The food wasn't that great. The chicken was pink and when I told the waiter he came over to inspect the pieces on the plate. He picks up a charred piece and says, "Look, it's cooked". I explained that just because it's charred on the outside doesn't mean its cooked on the inside. I then showed him the pink piece of chicken on my co-workers plate. When dessert came, they gave us tiny plates of pastries not enough for 30 people and a huge platter of fruit. One of the platters had a dark black hair as soon as they put it on the table. Not one staff member was nice or even cracked a smile. A very unfortunate experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you want sloppy-plated mediocre Persian food and an unpleasant, unorganized staff. I prefer Ravagh Persian Grill in Roslyn IMPO. The food and staff are outstanding there. read more

I had my mom's 80th birthday here last Sunday, and I can't begin to praise this place enough. The owners were such a pleasure to deal with from the very beginning and were beyond accommodating. The food is plentiful (the prefix family style) and delicious. I have had leftovers so far 3 nights this week, and I only brought half of them home! The prices are reasonable too - especially for a glatt kosher restaurant. Thank you, Chatanooga. It was truly an incredible and heartwarming experience - a day my mom will cherish forever. read more

I use to come here when I wasn't a pescatarian and enjoyed their kebab so so much! I still come as a pescatarian and I get their salmon which is honestly so delicious. The owner is very kind, they have good service, and the inside is clean and welcoming for a nice family dinner, or a catch up meal with friends. Stopped in here with a friend who was staying at the hotel across the street. It was 6 PM on a Tuesday and kind of empty (which almost scared us off), but the menu looked so good we decided to stay. Service was great and the food was amazing. We ordered a few appetizers and then split a stew, which was a lot of food and we got to try everything. The eggplant and tomato appetizer is sooooo delicious. Definitely recommend. Will stop by here again when in Great Neck. read more

I have never eaten at this store but that does not mean I haven't tried. On one occasion, my wife and I show up at the restaurant around 5:30 on a weekday. There was 1 table being used at the time. We wait in the doorway for 5 mins to be greeted by a waiter which refused to seat us, give us a menu or anything of the sort. Eventually we got a menu to see what they offered and just like their service, everything looked like crap. On a second occasion I called the restaurant to try and get a sandwich to go at 12:00 on a friday. My conversation went as follows: me: hi, what time do you close? restaurant: 3:00 me: can I get a schwarma? restaurant: no, and they hang up. On a side note: The restaurant looks dated and has carpeting you would expect to find in grandma's house. don't bother with this crap shack. read more

Delicious, amazingly delicious. The date and walnut chicken fesajoon is amazing super sweet, filling. The kabobs are fantastic too, cherry, orange, and green rice are all spectacular my kids like all of them! The waiters know their menu and I love getting the freebie appetizer Tadig dish. read more

If you are looking for good service in a high end Kosher restaurant, keep looking, The waiters will ignore any allergy specifications you make clear to them and will request a tip regardless of their surly attitude. Horrible service, mediocre food, and boring atmosphere. Save your money and go elsewhere. I don't know whether to laugh or be offended. I had a bad feeling as we entered the place. Let me start from the beginning. As we enter the restaurant, we notice the place is completely empty. Not a single soul. We are seated down to a table and were not even given a smile. It seemed like their employees were zombies not wanting to even greet their customers. Nonetheless, we perused the menu and had a couple questions. We were given a dry look with dry answers. Again, nonetheless we placed out order of the roasted eggplant and beef/chicken koobideh. Eggplant was good; however, chicken was like eating rubber. Beef was alright. Anyhow, the worst part of it all was when I ate one end of the beef koobideh and had a piece of white hair come out of it. Now, myself and my dinner guest have dark brown hair and no white. At this point we call the server over and explain to him what has happened. He denies it immediately without even looking at it. We stressed that it is hair that came OUT OF the meat and he still denies it. The owner/manager comes over and moves our plates around looking for the piece of white hair while denying that no one in the kitchen had grey hair. Who does that? Did he want to take the hair back and place it in someone else's food? The server moves my plate aside (even though we had shown him the hair before) and starts searching for the hair on the white tablecloth. They never once apologized or offered to bring us another plate. Just kept denying. What kind of customer service is this? Now, I don't know about you, but I was pretty disgusted. I asked for the check immediately and left. Needless to say, our evening was ruined. HORRIBLE SERVICE SAVE YOUR MINEY AND GO ELSEWHERE. read more

My friend and I chose to eat at Chatanooga, based on the recommendations from others on Yelp. We were terribly disappointed. The restaurant was so cold I had to keep my jacket on. The service was terrible - we waited a full half hour or more before the waiter reappeared to take our order. In fact, my friend had to get up and approach the manager to complain, at which point the manager went outside to find the waiter. We were also disappointed in the food. We each ordered a stew. Suffice it to say that we have had MUCH better Persian food elsewhere. read more
