They're very proud of their food preparation and rightfully so. The menu has all the classics with their own twists. The saganaki, which is usually made with one of a few semi-hard Greek cheeses, is made perfectly with a mozzarella cheese. Very different and delicious. The falafel was also differently shaped. The falafel was served as perfectly fried rectangles giving lots of surface space for their tahini sauce. The iskender, my personal favorite, served in a big dish with loads of doner(gyro meat) on top of the perfect proportion of yogurt and tomato sauce. The rice and green peas on the side were ok. To finish off a wonderful meal was the homemade baklava. There's not a lot of tables inside to dine and they have a large takeout menu also. A wonderful place to enjoy authentic Turkish food that's very reasonably priced making it a GREAT value for a superbly cooked meal. We will return for more!

We had sigara borek and hummus as appetizers, and the hummus in particular was so fresh and flavorful - definitely the best hummus I have ever had. We ordered a couple of entrees and unfortunately the wrong food came out. We didn't initially realize and thought they had put out two meals on the platter (and they were just small portions) and included some extras as well, until our waiter came over a few minutes later and apologized. Unfortunately, because we received the mixed grill instead of our two chicken entrees, the solution of charging us the price for the mixed instead of our two meals only took roughly $10 off the bill but resulted in us having less than half of the food we otherwise would've had. That aside, the food was delicious enough that Kebab House still warrants five stars and we will be back, just more aware of what to expect as far as portions.

For our main course, we ordered the Mixed Grill Combination, which included lamb tikka, lamb kebab, jujeh, and chicken tikka. The portion was generous--perfect for sharing and even better for leftovers. It happened to be my aunts birthday and we were offered a traditional Afghan dessert, Firnee. It was a pudding topped with pistachios. It was creamy and sweet. Such a thoughtful gesture. By the way they also offer BYOB, which is a nice bonus. Ali the owner and his talented staff always make the experience great no matter how busy the restaurant is. I came here with very good friends of mine that I knew loved Turkish food. We came here on Saturday night and when I arrived the restaurant was packed. Despite that we never felt rushed, they were well staffed and worked together as a well oiled machine to make the experience flawless. The weather was perfect so we sat outside, there is ample parking either in their parking lot or across the street. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with hand blown glass chandeliers from Turkey. For the sake of brevity I'm going to list all the dishes we had. Each one had its own unique flavor down to the Lavos Hollow bread with its slightly buttery flavor. You have to try each one. Prices are very fair and portions are great. We had the eggplant with tomato sauce, Turkish Ezme, Calves liver cubes, a large Shepherd salad, for appetizers. For entrees we had two of the Bronzino, the Shrimp Shish, and the Lamb Shish. For desert we had the Chocolate Baklava, the Kunefe, the Turkish coffee, and a of the Apple tea. Ali made a couple of special dishes including an eggplant dish and home made hot Halvah for desert. It's amazing how small the world really is. My friends thought they knew the owner Ali but could not pinpoint from where. After talking for a while they realized they knew him from when he worked at another Turkish restaurant in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn called Liman. It has since moved to Coney Island. Ali opened Bosporus Cafe Grill in Port Washington in 2014 and I'm am glad he took the risk to go out on his own. His business partner is the chef and is also a butcher. They've combined their talents to provide one of the best restaurants experiences you will ever have. I've been coming here for several years and it never gets old. Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn when we found what appeared to be a bug in the food. We contacted the restaurant to explain what we found and hoped they would handle the situation professionally. Instead, the conversation quickly became hostile. After some back and forth the owner ultimately became very aggressive and said "if you want me to deal with this issue personally you can come in person and we can handle it like men" to my older brother which felt threatening. We left the interaction feeling disrespected, intimidated, and completely disgusted with how our concerns were handled. We were unable to reach a resolution or receive a refund despite raising what we believed was a serious food safety issue. Finding a literal insect in a meal is concerning enough, but what made this experience especially disappointing was the way we were treated afterward. From one Muslim person to another- that man had no kindness in his heart. I truly hope the restaurant shuts down or that man ends up on the street bc he's not taking food safety concerns seriously.

Multiple sections of seating so you can specify if it's open. The food: portions are huge. Definitely shareable appetizers and a great variety to choose from. We wanted the taramasalata but unfortunately it was not available. So we got the grilled octopus, eggplant appetizer and the American Saganaki. The octopus was quite good and paired with a sprinkling of cut cucumbers and tomatoes. A favorite was the lentil soup. That bowl was quite large and it was very good. Even my picky one asked for some. Dinner entrees were more impressive in size. I ordered the fork tender lamb shank. Well seasoned and not gamey. Sauce was on point, definitely a bit heavy for a summer night dinner but I didn't mind. We opted for the Bulger wheat instead of rice. Great choice as it added another level of flavor to my stew-like sauce. Very enjoyable. My friend ordered the grilled Pompano, white flesh but lots more bones than the branzino.
