Lamb Kofta Kebab Side of Kabuli
Rohini G.

Tried the aushak previously as a take out order and ordered the lamb kebab plate with kabuli rice subbed in for dine in more recently. Portions are large and extremely filling. Barely finished half of the lamb kebab plate. Meat was tender, well seasoned, juicy, and lightly aromatic with the sumac seasoning on onions. The green sauce and white sauce were great and combined with the kabuli, cut the meat nicely. I prefer slightly thicker julienned carrots in the kabuli for the texture but the flavors were spot on. Aushak order came with six generously filled dumplings which easily served as a full meal for me despite being an appetizer. Definitely a local favorite!

My friends and I dined here recently and it was an absolute pleasure. We ordered the family platter and samboosas to share and were very impressed. Meat was succulent and juicy, rice was super fresh and not very greasy which I loved very much. Their white sauce is really the star of the show. Salad was fresh and light as well. Service was super attentive and friendly. They took good care of us and were so concerned when I almost tripped on the floor. This is a great family restaurant in Hicksville dishing out amazing food. The vibe is very casual and they have big booths/tables which can accommodate large parties. In the background you can hear a faint trill of Pashto songs, which sets the mood right. I do think they could spice up the place a little bit with some decor but the excellent food more than makes up for ambiance. Do come here and check them out!!

Great afghan/Pakistani kebob restaurant. Unique flavors, expert grilling, savory meals, amazing basmati rice. They don't do alcohol here, it's Haram. Respect the culture enjoy the food. Place gets busier as it gets later, guess it's the culture. Big parking lot in front.

Currently obsessed with their chicken kofta kebab! I personally feel like the meat is the softest in this particular dish. Can't do without their white and green sauce as well. Good stuff! :)

Decent food not best. If you are hungry and in the neighborhood stop over. It's not a place you should go out of your way.

We got the magnificent wings, the silky hummus, the fantastic mixed salad, the hot bread, the delicious dumplings, off the bone lamb chops, and gorgeous chicken kebabs. The Afghani brown rice was a big hit. We made sure we had room for the stupendous baklava served warm with the Afghani coffee and cardamom tea. The inside is warm, inviting and decorated with lovely mementos and souvenirs & great music playing in the background. We got to know a very sweet mother and daughter ( patrons) who also found this gem Kabul Grill on Yelp and loved their lunch. Can't wait to be back!

My friend and I got the barg kabob with naan and the Sabzi palak (beef with spinach) that we got with rice. Both were good, but I enjoyed the texture of the meat and spinach dish more. The rice was flavorful. I overheard Rafi explaining to the other table and folks that got takeout that it would be an extra charge, but he could customize their orders, which I thought was nice that he was very transparent with them upfront and willing to work with the customer so that they could order the items that they want. I also appreciated him explaining to my friend that Turkish coffee comes with sugar and not milk and clarifying if she was OK with that before he made the coffee. We were given free firnee. Rafi was kind to check if we are allergic to dairy before offering it to us. Overall, the food was good. Service was fine and there was free parking in the back.

Updated review! Still going after all these years!…read more This time for dinner. We got an appetizer platter which was fantastic but very pricey, if I'm remembering right it was $36ish and just because of the price I would not order it again. We also ordered the obligatory kebabs and cherry rice. Of course we loved them. For the first time ever we tried some desserts. I just ordered the oddest sounding thing. Falooda. Now I'm dreaming of eating it again! Rose/Lemon ice with little noodles! There was also some tart cherries in juice on the side and a lemon wedge. The waitress was so nice, she had to explain how to eat it. Just dump the cherries on top of the ice & noodles and a squeeze of lemon. It was delicious. Best dinner I've had in a while!

This is one of my favorite places in Huntington!…read more The quality of the food is top tier, and it's obvious the food is made fresh to order. The pita is always so warm and fresh. The combination platter is a great way to get a taste of a variety of meats. The barg is marinated beef that is so soft and tender, it's truly delicious, the jujeh is chicken that is big pieces and is so juicy, and the Koobideh is ground beef that has so much flavor. The albaloo polo rice is my absolute favorite. The sweet and sour cherries, almonds, and pistachios compliments the basmati rice so well. It is my favorite rice hands down! I can eat a whole plate for myself, since it's so light and fluffy. Service is great, the wait staff is accommodating, and the food comes out quickly. The ambiance is nice as well. Plenty of seating, and has a nice view of Main Street. I always enjoy eating at Ravagh. Plenty of food, and I never leave hungry!

I had the absolutely pleasure of finding Eyval while I was roaming Bushwick one Saturday afternoon…read moreafter I had gone plant shopping. And might I say this from the start of this review ; it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. Reserving a table here was very simple and Thorough to book, nothing complicated; completely straightforward through resy. But I will have to say that you should keep in mind to try to book a day or two before, usually the eatery is quite packed, as I can imagine no one can get enough of their amazing dishes I headed here again on a very heavy raining Thursday, it was a day before the flood in September happened but I was hoping to meet a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a while and we wanted to head somewhere nice. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere with soothing , warm dark interior that instantly connected with my heart and brought me back to the heart of Persia. riendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. I always tend to judge a place and how close to the home version of food is based on who is eating at the restaurant and when you walk through the door the entire place is filled with people eating of middle eastern/Persian decent, this tells me this place is gonna be pretty good. If there were ten stars, I wouldn't hesitate to give them. Amazing Iranain cuisine, full with authentic traditional dishes. I go to this restaurant and their other locations many times and I can't get enough of it. I am middle eastern and I appreciate a really authentic food. The first time I was here, I didn't really have anything but their persian tea, since I already ate After finally scavenging around with the waitress to finalize our order, we settled on getting : We started off with the lime rose and cucumber mint cocktails, very enriching and sweet. Nothing too light nor heavy, just in between that way it have the perfect opportunity to devour our meals in peace without feeling completely full. I'll have to say one of the of the tastiest and lightest cocktails i've had in recent memory. First plate we shared was the Komaj Bread with the Carrot Borani. The minute I saw on the menu that, my eyes dropped right to the dish infused with zaffron youghrt, my heart melted ever so softly and knew zaffron yoghurt was definitely something I wanted my taste buds to revisit. The sweet warm honey with olive oil and zaffron yoghurt really balanced each other in a world ___, brought an interesting twist to the carrots, espousing eating it with the Komaj Bread. The kebab koobdieh had the best texture, very sweet and tender that just melted it's juices into your mouth, honestly one of the best kebabs i've had in New york. We also ordered the Half Chicken Zereshk Polo, very tasty and nourishing, really did meet my every expectations to the fine making of persian rice dishes, the taste is still can remember it to this day. I really would recommending going with these two meals. Overall, I cannot recommend Eyval enough - the atmosphere, the food, and the service were all top-notch. If you're looking for a taste of great Persia in Brooklyn, look no further than Eyval! It's a must try. Lastly I'd like to highlight our friendly waitress, truly she was the sweetest: very positive and polite lady, helped with recommendations, personal drinks and meals she enjoyed, and everything! Was very talkative and welcoming to Eyval, I really enjoyed having her as our waitress. I completely forgot to get her name, but she was an Afghani girl, very accommodating would definitely ask for her when I come back again! I've been to Eyval thrice now, and I can't emphasize this enough when I say they never fail to astonish me. Each time they have stunned me with their terrific service and mouthwatering menu. I'm coming back again and again for sure!

It was such a great starter. Eggplant was okay, not bad but not our favorite. Kabob koobideh i enjoyed a lot. The saffron chicken was great too. Overall, all the food was very great here. I think you really cant go wrong with any of the options which is rare to find in a restaurant. Will definitely be back to enjoy with friends and family.
