PeriPeri in Hicksville NY in shopping center - interest experience. Robot server. Chicken under cooked - ( see pix) was told by manager- it's a vain - like that fixed it. She made 1 new piece that I didn't end up eating. Nothing else worth mentioning here. Except I don't plan on going there again.

    Peri-Chicken Sandwich

I visited this place because I like to support halal businesses but this was a big disappointment. I don't like to give negative reviews because it impacts a business a lot but I also don't want anyone else to have a bad experience like I did. I ordered the Peri Peri chicken over rice and asked if it would be boneless while ordering because I wanted something easy to eat with a spoon. As you can see in the picture that my chicken over rice had HUGE pieces of undercooked chicken and to make it worse, the chicken had a very unpleasant stench to it. As soon as the girl brought the food to me I told her please take it back as I can not eat or digest such big pieces of chicken and it's very unappealing. I didn't even TOUCH the bowl. She said she would have to ask the chef/cook-who said no exchanges. I went to speak to this chef and told her my situation but she was not open to any negotiations and told me to pay and buy something else if im not happy with it. However, after a lot of going back n forth she agreed to make me something else. I asked for the King Burger specifically which my sister had ordered and it was wayyy better in taste. The cook again tried to play me for the second time and gave me a different sandwich instead of what I asked- which was ALSO undercooked as you can see in the photo below. But by now my appetite was gone and I no longer wanted to speak to this chef any more. Very disrespectful and horrible experience. I will not be coming back nor will I suggest anyone to try their food.

The KING Chicken Sandwich (lemon and herb)

Saw the raving reviews and thought we would try this place. However, I do agree with all the lower reviews. The place is very overpriced for what they offer. Everything you order will need sauce to make it decent. We had the king with lemon and herb, 10 peice wings with mild, and chicken skewer tights with mango and lime. The mild has a nice kick to it. The lemon and herb was barely noticeable in the sandwich. The mango and lime was the worst. There was this odd artificial taste to it. The fries was good and onion rings was a tad better than burger kings. The sides are small fyi. Plus, a can of soda for 1.75. Overall, $52 could be better spent elsewhere. Nothing blew our mind. Probably just a place to try but won't be back, our preference.

The customer service was awful and the food was burnt, tasteless and looked sloppy. Ordered wings, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The wings were brunt, undercooked and bitter. Likewise, the mashed potatoes was super runny with weird taste. The mac and cheese was similar to the mashed potatoes with crumbled stuff on top. It was downright awful. I can't express enough how disappointed I was with everything and to add I had company I fed it to. They too were disgusted. We ended up throwing it in the garbage. I will call the store, but I already know what they are going to say - "let us make it up to you" No thank you! Very Disappointed patron.

Food is pretty good but I expected better quality and quantity. The side corn in the cob was dry and not well flavored. The peri peri fries were only lightly seasoned that too just a sprinkle on top. I got the crispy chicken wrap. It tasted good but again the quality and quantity of the wrap wasn't sufficient.

When we sat down it was kind of annoying because the sun was in our eyes from the window. They offered to move our seats, but the other table also was in the sunlight. We ordered a chicken kebab as an appetizer and got the mix grilled plate as an entree and goat Karahi. The mix grill plate was huge and came with like 5 different types of meat dishes cooked various ways of chicken and lamb. My favorite thing from the grill platter was the green chicken and the red chicken. It comes with tomatoes, and red onions as well. The goat karahi was good too the sauce was very flavorful and went well with the garlic nann. We also got a mango lassi, we found out half way through our meal that they forgot it and when we got our bill they charged us for 2 so they gave us a cash refund. Overall it was a nice place lots of families were there with their kids.

Friendly service and a lovely ambiance top it all off. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is medium sized, lots of booths, and was decorated for Valentine's Day. They take reservations and were pretty busy. Service was good, although a little slow at the beginning. I tried the following dishes: Cauliflower Manchurian (3/5): This dish was pretty good, but not amazing. I did enjoy it. Garlic Chili Noodles (3.5/5): Pretty good noodles, not very spicy but good flavor and consistency. Hakka Chili Chicken (4/5): I liked this chicken, but my dining partner did not. The chicken was boneless dark meat, which I really like. You can get it with no, light, or full gravy. We did full and had it with rice. I did enjoy this dish. Overall, I had a pretty good experience at HAKA. No dishes were real standouts, but they were all decent. It is not a bad option for Indo-Chinese in the area.

The menu has both indian and chinese dishes. It's not fusion just two different cuisines being sold. We ordered a roll that came with shrimp tempura, mango and salmon. It was very good, a warm grill that felt like a sandwich. The side galore noodles we ordered were dry and not very flavourful. We ordered shrimp with then and they came with fried/tempura shrimp, which we found odd. There was also egg on the dish but it did nothing for the noodles. We ordered the noodles regular so they should have had some sauce but there was none. The chicken dishes were both really good. The chicken wasn't overly fried or breaded. It tasted fresh and had a good bite to it. I like the spicy garlic chicken a bit more because of the spice. The haka chicken was more of a sweet and salty flavor. Both were tasty. If I'm in the area I'll come back here.

Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn when we found what appeared to be a bug in the food. We contacted the restaurant to explain what we found and hoped they would handle the situation professionally. Instead, the conversation quickly became hostile. After some back and forth the owner ultimately became very aggressive and said "if you want me to deal with this issue personally you can come in person and we can handle it like men" to my older brother which felt threatening. We left the interaction feeling disrespected, intimidated, and completely disgusted with how our concerns were handled. We were unable to reach a resolution or receive a refund despite raising what we believed was a serious food safety issue. Finding a literal insect in a meal is concerning enough, but what made this experience especially disappointing was the way we were treated afterward. From one Muslim person to another- that man had no kindness in his heart. I truly hope the restaurant shuts down or that man ends up on the street bc he's not taking food safety concerns seriously.

I ordered the mixed chicken and lamb over rice with a side of French fries, loaded with both white sauce and barbecue sauce. The platter was massive and beautifully layered. The chicken was tender, juicy, and packed with warm spices, while the lamb was perfectly seasoned, thinly sliced, and had that rich, savory flavor that pairs so well with the fluffy, flavorful rice. The French fries were crispy and mixed right in, adding great texture. I loved the contrast between the cool, creamy garlic white sauce and the smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. They complemented the meat perfectly and I ended up drizzling extra on every bite. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, but it made for an amazing lunch the next day too. I also got the lamb gyro with white sauce on the side. The pita was soft and warm, stuffed generously with thinly sliced, marinated lamb that was crispy on the edges and super flavorful. Fresh tomatoes, onions, and lettuce added a nice crunch, and that signature creamy white sauce tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was juicy, savory, and downright addictive. Everything tasted fresh, made to order, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. This is my new go-to spot for halal food on Long Island.
