Proof of the way they charged us, when they said we'd be charged for the 16 piece at $29.25. Not the way to do business!

We've been coming to this establishment for the past 3 years on occasion and had never been disappointed. Most recently, we came here on New Year's Eve. The girl at the register is clueless and doesn't know how to work the register. (She's NOT new. The last time we were here, which was at least 9 months ago, she was the one who took our order, and it was the same thing back then.) We wanted to order the 16 piece chicken. We asked if we could do 8 pieces original and 8 pieces spicy. She couldn't, for the life of her, figure out how to do that on the register. She called over the manager/owner. He didn't know how to do it either. (We were very surprised that this request isn't made enough by customers for them to not know how to do this.) Then he said, "Oh, do it this way. Put it in separately, 8 pieces original and 8 pieces spicy." We immediately questioned if there would be a price difference because 8 pieces cost $16.30 (x2 = $32.60) and 16 pieces cost $29.25. Now, $3.35 isn't really a lot, but again, it kind of is... And most importantly, it's the principal. The manager/owner immediately said, "No, there won't be. I'll take care of that." He punches in the chicken portion of our order and goes away. We place the rest of our order with the girl, which took a VERY long time to do, because she just simply doesn't know their menu and how to use their register. We had to correct her and repeat our order at least 3 times for her to get it right. We paid and stepped to the side to wait for our food. While waiting, we decided to look at our receipt. Lo and behold, we were charged 2 8-pieces at $16.30 each! (Not sure why simply putting in one order of 16 pieces in the register and if you can't specify what kind of flavor/style, then just write it on the receipt so the person putting the order together will know!) We were going to mention it to the manager/owner to see if he would make the situation right, but he was busy in the back and the place was so unorganized. The counter that appeared to be the pick up area was not being used at all. Instead, they were using the small counter where the register is, to give people their order and everyone crammed there. GrubHub/Uber pickups were also confused where to go and it just made the whole place chaotic. While the food itself is edible and even enjoyable, the service and the straight up lying to customers are what could make them lose (my) future business.

Chicken Sandwich lunch special. Don't get it.

I hate giving out bad reviews but I had a pretty horrible experience when I came to Chicken Delight in October. I had been here once prior to this and had ordered the chicken sandwich lunch special combo. I thought it was pretty good, so I stopped by again in October. The interior of the place is a bit dated but it is adequate; there are enough seats and it's not completely dirty or anything. They don't take credit card for orders under $10, so that was kind of a bummer. So I ordered the chicken sandwich combo again ($6.52 with tax included). Kudos for having a cheap lunch special, but when I tasted the sandwich I felt like they changed the chicken cutlet they used from my previous visit. The chicken in the sandwich was the cheapest, most processed piece of garbage I've ever tasted. I felt like it was one of those processed chicken patties that come in packages of 20 that you can buy for $1 at a no name dollar store somewhere. After I took one bite I immediately threw out my meal. The fries were fairly decent and I noticed that the ketchup and barbeque sauce I got here were both pretty low quality. Even the bun on the chicken sandwich was pretty bad. I left after throwing out my meal and went to Taco Bell. I acknowledge that my experience was for the chicken sandwich lunch special combo only. Maybe the other items here are good, but I'm never stepping foot in here again after my last experience.

    Excellent, crispy fried chicken.

Since we were dining in, they gave us a table number and we placed it in the holder so staff know where to bring the food. Our order didn't take very long to arrive to our table, just about 10 minutes. After finishing your meal, you bus your own table. The menu has options for burgers, hot dogs, fries, salads, shakes, floats, and desserts. I ordered a Yellow Label Burger ($13.45) and a Strawberry shake ($6.75). My husband and I shared a Farm Salad ($9.75). The Yellow Label Burger comprises of USDA Prime Beef, homemade fried mac n cheese patty, lettuce, tomato on a potato bun. This was delicious! I liked how after biting into the crispy, breaded exterior it gives way to a hot, molten cheese center that oozes perfectly over beef. The Farm Salad which consisted of spring mix, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette on the side was also very very very tasty, fresh, and a good portion. The strawberry shake was also very good and had pieces of strawberries. Black Label Burgers pride on only using USDA Prime Angus beef that comes from a single source, Double R Ranch, located in Washington State, a family-owned farm known for its responsible practices and superior beef. You can definitely taste the richness and juiciness of the beef. My husband had the Red Label Burger ($13.25) and the PB&J shake ($7.75). He really enjoyed his meal as well. I really liked the inside decor and the laid back vibes. Black Label Burgers is great for a quick lunch, a night out with friends, or a family dinner. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy, always a good sign. I liked the local (Long Island) themed decor, friendly service, spacious parking lot, wide variety of self-serve beverages (tangy lemonade - yay!) and nicely padded booths. Definitely a cut above competitors like Shake Shack in that regard. I chose the signature black label burger made with dry aged beef and regular fries. While the hand cut fries were wonderfully crispy and flavorful, the burger was kind of disappointing - not terrible, but the bun tasted stale and the meat was very bland. Also I ordered the burger cooked medium but it came out pink in the center, not my preference for chopped meat. Maybe I ordered the wrong item? I plan to try other menu items in the future to see if they hit my taste buds differently.

Sometimes it's really good, and other times it's like they forgot to season anything. But also now, on our most recent visit, we noticed the portions seemed to have gotten smaller. The positives are that the interior is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated with high ceilings. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside, where there's even a putting green to enjoy while you wait for your food or after you're finished eating. The waitstaff has always been friendly and happy to offer recommendations. Over the years, we've tried quite a variety of their menu: pancakes, several burgers, the biscuit benedict, the Shegg sandwich, avocado toast, chicken and waffles, fried pickles, and more. So what's been inconsistent? How do you serve unseasoned ground beef? It's not pleasant. Have you ever had breakfast sausage with almost no seasoning? We have--and it was here. What about the portion sizes? Just compare my photos of the fried pickles from different visits, and they'll tell the story (the outside one was the most recent). Or if you've ordered a Bloody Mary recently, you might be wondering what happened to the mountain of slaw that used to come with it. The Shed isn't a cheap restaurant, so with the premium prices, I'd expect a lot more consistency when it comes to the food.

(Which should have been a very simply resolution). I had placed a rather large order. A holy mess! I had placed the order on their app and contacted customer service 4 separate times, with no resolution. I just submitted a 5th request, but honestly, am expecting to be ignored again. Why is something so simple not resolved quickly? Just give me a refund or credit for the large order of rice and beans! What's the damn problem?!?! Lmaooo And why are they so cheap with their sauces? I didn't even ask for extra sauce. I was asking for the sauces that came with the menu items! This is a great way to lose customers.
