I came across this bbq spot from Yelp. It's a small takeout with two small tables to eat in. The service is a little slow, the owner works alone during slow hours as stated to me. The turkey wings were seasoned well, you get two wings with your meal. Other places I've eaten at give you one wing so, that's a plus for me. The candied yams were tasty. The rice and beans were ok along with the collards. The brisket was really good, tender, seasoned well and juicy. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu. Two dinners cost me $40, a lil pricey

For my Leap Day review, I'm happy to mention the uniquely wonderful Village BBQ. To sum it up - they offer AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS BBQ! Since I love ribs, for my first visit I got both kinds - the pork baby backs and beef ribs - plus various sides including baked beans, mac n cheese, sweet potato fries and green beans. The huge beef rib was so flavorful and fall off the bone tender, I never knew beef ribs could be so moist and good. Oh my my. Baby backs were coated in yummy BBQ sauce, tasty and not overly sweet. Of the sides I liked the sweet potato fries and baked beans best. The owner/chef (Randy?) is a very nice person, and my order was ready on time. Can't wait to return for his jerk chicken and other items. Village BBQ - sinfully scrumptious, a must try!!

I ordered delivery. 1 Turkey Wing, Mac 'n Cheese & Green Beans OMG!! Absolute PERFECTION! Everything was seasoned beautifully. The Turkey was extremley succulent, the Mac 'n Cheese was the BEST I've EVER tasted and the Green Beans were highly seasoned & OFF THE CHAIN. I just read about Village BBQ on FB the other day. I never knew they existed!! The GREAT part is...they are only 5 minutes from my home!! You better believe, I'll be spreading the word!!

A great addition to our area. I ordered the four piece chicken dinner and got four enormous drumsticks and thighs. The sides of macaroni and collard greens were A+ as well. We can't wait to move on to their wings and brisket. A fine first impression.

This is basically home soulfood / Southern cooking in a small restaurant setting. In fact the stove and refrigerator are right behind the front counter. The food is mostly very good. I grew up eating this kind of food, so I tend to be very picky. The ribs passed muster, even though they were not super tender but they were flavorful. The sauce was serviceable. The fried whiting fish sandwich could have used a little more fish and less bread and a few more pickles, but wasn't bad. The baked beans, and the beans and the rice side dishes were good and flavorful. The mac and cheese was good but not great. Still better than 90% of that I have tried at other places in this area. The cornbread was disappointing to me, in that it was more like a cake, too soft and too sweet. I guess that is why it is listed under desserts on the menu. Overall, worth coming to and returning to, once you sort out the best dishes.

Seriously good food. The brisket is delicious. The ribs and corn bread are also great. Try it and you will not be disappointed.

I will preface this by saying I consider K-city a 5/5 for Long Island - probably a 4/5 if K-city was in Queens tbh. If i was in the Nassau area I default to K-city vs. Kpot! I mainly go to K-city for the hotpot vs. the kbbq/hot food selection. The bbq is okay but the grill itself is pretty small. The prepared food selection is also okay, includes both hot food & sushi but I mainly consider it as food to eat while my hotpot is getting ready (lol). The broths are very legit with the variety offered being spicy (mala with the Szechuan peppercorns), mushroom, pork bone, herbal ( I believe is a mix of pork & chicken + herbs), tomato and mushroom. My favorite thus far have been the spicy & herbal! I appreciate that the meats are also included in the buffet section as well so I can control the quantity as opposed to some other hotpot/bbq places where the meats come pre-portioned. I think the main drawback of K-City as opposed to Spring Shabu (my personal 2nd favorite choice in nassau) is definitely the veggie selection & quality. Having said that, the veggie selection is okay and has the main things I get like the enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, broccoli and noodles.

The hot buffet line was ok, and the sushi was alright. There was nothing spectacular but at the same time the food wasnt bad. I would have normally rated this probably a 3 star. Why a 2 star? Because the money items, the salmon sashimi and oysters took forever to be refilled. I had to ask the staff when they bothered to look my direction. Other buffets constantly stock their food, this one didn't. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and I had the chance to meet the owner, Bobby, who was very approachable and took the time to introduce himself. My interactions him and his team I would rate 5-stars. I value supporting Black-owned businesses, which made the visit even more meaningful. One piece of constructive feedback: I ordered fried whiting, and the fish I received did not appear to be whiting. The fish was okay overall, but I would have appreciated being informed if it was unavailable so I could have chosen something else. I'm currently avoiding red meat, chicken, and pork and eating fish only during this Lenten season, so I'm especially particular about my food orders. Because of that, not receiving what I requested was disappointing. For that reason alone, I'd rate the food 3 stars. Because the overall experience was pleasant, I will give a 4 star rating--as I do plan to return to explore other items on the menu. I might order the whiting again, but will confirm the order before leaving and will return to sample more of the menu, especially since my parents love barbecue.

I still get the mixed kebab because the all you can eat is way too much for me. Don't sleep on the collard greens. I would order an extra serving so you can mix them with eggs in the morning. Did we wait an hour for our table? Yes, but it was well worth it. There was a spot at the bar where we can chill and all catch up with the peeps we hadn't seen in a min. It was nice to have that time because there was silence when we sat and got our food. We were hungry. One thing I will say, they took away the bowls of olives. I mean I was probably the only one that looked forward to them, so I get it. But holla at me if you feel the same way. Until next year Carvalhos

They do not take reservations on the weekends so be prepared to wait 35-40 minutes for a table since it tends to get packed in the evening. They do have a big bar to have a drink and wait in the meantime. The staff is very friendly and attentive which I loved, they made sure our table was clean and our drinks were filled. Now the food, their appetizers that they bring to the table were just ok; the sweet plantains, rice and beans were pretty good. The French fries were undercooked which no one at the table touched. The salad could have used a little more color but the dressing was really good. The meats themselves were good but could better. I really enjoyed their picanha; it was cooked a perfectly medium. It was juicy and flavorful. The chicken legs and turkey wrapped in bacon were so delicious and well seasoned. When it came to the skirt steak, short ribs and other cuts of meat, I felt like they were on the drier side and not as tasty. They never asked how we liked it cooked (medium or well done) so we just got whichever temperature they were served. I was also disappointed they didn't have chicken hearts since I always look forward to those when I go to a rodizio. Each person rodizio is $54 which is definitely on the higher end and the prices on their website are outdated. I would probably not return; there are more affordable rodizio with higher end cuts.
