It's that time again! When it's Hubs' birthday, we gather the boys and have a feast of meat. Just days before, my friend sent me the picture I posted from us 10 years ago when we started the tradition. The meats hit the same. I still get the mixed kebab because the all you can eat is way too much for me. Don't sleep on the collard greens. I would order an extra serving so you can mix them with eggs in the morning. Did we wait an hour for our table? Yes, but it was well worth it. There was a spot at the bar where we can chill and all catch up with the peeps we hadn't seen in a min. It was nice to have that time because there was silence when we sat and got our food. We were hungry. One thing I will say, they took away the bowls of olives. I was really excited about trying this spot since it was recommended by a friend. The big plus is that they have a private parking lot. They do not take reservations on the weekends so be prepared to wait 35-40 minutes for a table since it tends to get packed in the evening. They do have a big bar to have a drink and wait in the meantime. The staff is very friendly and attentive which I loved, they made sure our table was clean and our drinks were filled. Now the food, their appetizers that they bring to the table were just ok; the sweet plantains, rice and beans were pretty good. The French fries were undercooked which no one at the table touched. The salad could have used a little more color but the dressing was really good. The meats themselves were good but could better. I really enjoyed their picanha; it was cooked a perfectly medium. It was juicy and flavorful. The chicken legs and turkey wrapped in bacon were so delicious and well seasoned. When it came to the skirt steak, short ribs and other cuts of meat, I felt like they were on the drier side and not as tasty. They never asked how we liked it cooked (medium or well done) so we just got whichever temperature they were served. I was also disappointed they didn't have chicken hearts since I always look forward to those when I go to a rodizio. Each person rodizio is $54 which is definitely on the higher end and the prices on their website are outdated. My wife and I have been coming here for years now...and Carvahlos NEVER EVER, EVER DISAPPOINTS!!! Came here last night for New Years Eve dinner. My wife had her go to meal...the full grilled whole Bronzino...and I had my usual go to...the Rodizio!!! My favorite cuts of beef are the Picanha, Short Ribs and the Skirt Steak. They're ALWAYS INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!!! If you have a big appetite...the Rodizio will satisfy your cravings. And make sure you order the collard greens to go along with your Rodizio. Soooo DELICIOUS!! After dinner for dessert, my wife and I shared a cappuccino and an order of Heavenly Whites. The service here is always GREAT!! The young man who was my server was excellent. He kept coming by with skewers of BBQ meats. Even I was having a hard time keeping up with all the meats that were coming to the table. My birthday is coming up in February. I got the rodizio. The steak was very greasy and fatty to the point there was a puddle of grease on my plate. However it was well seasoned and tasty. The service was outstanding, waiters very friendly. They kept the meat coming. For $42 plus change, I would always get takeaway with two grilled chickens and two sides. I was billed $52 plus change for the same takeout order as of today, August 3, 2025. The customer service representative handling my transaction informed me that the pricing had increased this week when I asked about it. The price of two grilled chickens on their website is still $42 with tax instead of $52 with tax. This made me think that the restaurant is taking advantage of the tariff rise for both domestic and imported goods by raising the prices of their food. read more

Tried this spot for the first time. I'm not really into the whole Rodizio style but my husband is. The place is small and it's feels so crowded. Hubby went for the rodizio and I decided to try the shrimp kebab, the prize for ONE kebab is $40 four shrimps, onions and peppers. Disappointed, overpriced, crowded and the food not worth the price. Favorite churrasqueira in long island hands down. This place gets super busy everyday they are open. Just so you know what you're getting into. This joint is tightly packed with tables full of people. Don't expect personal space. But it's part of the experience. Expect there to be a wait, they don't take small reservations. But if you get there towards the end of the night or right at the beginning there's no real wait time. If you're itching for real good food and can't stand the wait. Head over to the bar. There's usually always sitting there. And they serve the full menu there too. But if you perfer a table, make sure to head to the hostess stand and put your name and number with her immediately to get on the waiting list. trust me the wait is worth it!! Staff had masks & they brought us water, bread, and salad after we were seated. We always get the Portuguese sausages as starters and i must say these were great! Came out for my birthday last week with my wife and some friends. Ive been here before and love some rodizio. My advice would be to come hungry. Also dont fill up too much on the sides. They will start you with salad and olives then strap in for meat galore. Sides will be rice, fried banana, french fries, veggies and a sauce that is super hot. Turkey wrapped in bacon is my absolute favorite. Everything has a wonderful flavor. The heavenly whites is an absolute for dessert. I:30hr into our wait they kept saying they are waiting for a round table to fit us but every time a round table left another group was seated before us, when we were told we were the next table. I actually was ready to walk out the door when the waitstaff finally brought plates to our table nearly after 50 mins of being seated. My kids were just sitting there filling up on bread and salad at a rodizio. My oldest son opted to order tilapia instead because he was no longer hungry. The server Orlando took our order about the 30 minute mark after being seated and never came back to check on us. We also waited another 20 mins after we asked for the check though they cleared our tables immediately. For $250, you are better off spending it elsewhere to avoid the frustration. Service was ok, the waiter that took our order never came around to see if everything was ok, after food was served the table was handle by the busboys. ambience was fine. Adorning the entrance to Churrasqueira Carvalhos Rodizio are several statues of chickens. This made me wonder if I had walked into the Latino version of KFC. Fortunately, upon opening the doors, I was greeted with the all too familiar scent of BBQ'd meat :) Unfortunately, my experience went downhill from there. After waiting 40 minutes to get seated, which is understandable on a Sunday afternoon, we were immediately given bread and menus. It was a very crowded dining room. It took about 15 minutes for the waiter to come take our order. You are given the option of ordering an AYCE Rodizio or ordering entrees a la carte. We went with the Rodizio for everyone. You would think that the meats would now start making their way to the table, but you would be wrong. The meats were going to all the other tables, with no clear indication of which tables ordered Rodizio and which ones ordered entrees. After 20 minutes of just sitting there, we were about to get up and leave when the Meat waiters realized we ordered Rodizio. Out came the complementary sides: salad, broccoli, French fries, rice, potato chips, followed by the meats. WOW. The meat is good. It was well seasoned and had a spicy kick to it. The house hot sauce was the highlight of the meal. Notice that I only took pictures of the salads, broccoli and sides...no pictures of the meats. They came so infrequently that I had to put down my phone to make sure I could get some. There were only 2 waiters walking around carving meat for the entire room! Ambience / Décor: This is a relatively non descript table clothed dining room. It gets noisy when crowded. Food: The meat was very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Visit Date: November 11, 2017 We came here for dinner with our son, two of my friends and my friend's boyfriend. I'm a vegetarian so I don't think I could have appreciated this place as much as I could have if I ate meat and also if I was still eating unhealthy. I wouldn't recommend bringing a toddler here. Sometimes we luck out with our son other times we don't. It was really crowded and he doesn't sit in a high chair and inevitably he wants to start walking around the restaurant wherever we go. It was a little scary because waiters were walking around with sharp sticks of hot meat to bring to the tables of people who ordered the Rodizio unlimited meat meal. Luckily the staff didn't really give us a problem while our son was walking around the place. Everyone else at our table who ate meat seemed to enjoy the meal a lot. For me getting a decent healthy meal from them was like pulling teeth. I needed protein. They did offer to bring me out grilled vegetables but when I asked about having cheese served on it they told me they had no cheese in the kitchen. I asked them about giving me eggs and after telling me they had no eggs in the kitchen they relented and agreed to bring out three eggs for me with my veggies. For the Rodizio they bought out tons of side dishes, veggies with butter, chips, french fries, bread, collard greens. The alcohol was good, I had a pinot grigio, medela negro beer, and a portugese coffee at dessert. I really wanted another portugese coffee they were so good. So in my opinion if you're a healthy vegetarian this might not be the first place you want to come to. If you want to gorge on tons of meat and fatty food this place might be for you. read more

Ok so I've been dying to try this place because I basically pass it on a weekly basis and smell the deliciousness from my car sitting in traffic on Sunrise Highway. The place has a nice feel to it. The menu has lots of different options. I ordered the skirt steak and my husband had the pork loin. My skirt steak came rare the way I ordered it with plenty of juice. We ordered takeout for the first time tonight and the food was great! It's almost identical to Bairrada in Mineola, but a little less salty and the chicken was juicer. I really liked the sautéed kale - but on the menu it's listed as collard greens. Didn't care it was kale instead, it was delicious! The broccoli and carrots were pretty bland and I think over cooked a little. We sadly got fries instead of the chips I ordered, so hopefully they get our next order correct. The last time I was here was about two years ago, but every time I went there the food was amazing. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. It's usually busy over the weekend, but the wait is worth it. I've always wanted to try the dish that has the waiters walking around with the different meats. I now live a little farther out and wish there was one in Suffolk, but I would totally drive to this location. It's great for a casual date, or a group of people. The waiting area is really small, which is a big downfall but where you eat makes it up. If I remember, the bar is at the back to the right, so you don't have to eat a table. read more
