Delicious food with huge portions. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Every dish is fresh and made to order.

Came to Popei's on a Saturday night while visiting friends in Long Island. Thank God we had a reservation because the place was packed out. After eating I can see why! First off there is valet parking so no need to panic when you pull up to the small parking lot. Second, make a reservation, especially if it's the weekend. Third, come hungry... there are so many delicious options and the seafood is extremely fresh. We were a party of 8 so we ordered a bunch of different options, even the kids enjoyed everything. Prices are average and this establishment is definitely family friendly. From what I could see, you can tell this restaurant has regulars so be prepared to fall in love and keep coming back for more!

This is a must try place!! Food here was delicious especially the 2 lbs Steamed Lobster w Butter!! Their bread was crack!! New England Clam Chowder & calamari were both delicious & fries were crispy & yummy too!!! Soft Shell crab was good just too much breading!! Service was excellent!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was nice as well!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I could eat Popei's Pork Chop every single day. 3x a month is not enough! That's how Yum this is!

What can you say about a local place with amazing seafood and Joe behind the bar and kitchen. Shelby makes an amazing expresó martini and if you sit at the bar the ambience is "Cheers" like. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You make friends with the regulars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is quick and attentive but the reason you come here is the food. The food is perfectly on spot. The Long Island bisque is an amazing blend of white and red clam chowder. The mussels in lobster sauce are orgasmic (lol) and the steaks and chops are perfectly cooked. I have been coming here for years and realized that I had yet to post this review for fear of losing my seat at the bar.

Took the wife out for Mother's Day and we haven't been here in a bite and man did we have a great meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First the location is small but it does pack a HUGE punch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat across from the bar at a high top, the bartender was our server and he was super friendly and knowledgeable. We started with some garlic bread for the table (complement of the house) and then some calamari (delicious) and mozzarella sticks (average). For entrees my wife had the snow crab dinner which she absolutely loved with a side of Cajun waffle fries. My son and I had the strip steaks. I had side of angel hair with garlic and oil and he had the straight fries. The steaks came with vegetables and corn on cob. Everything we had was delicious and the flavors were on point. So a side note, this location is in a strip of stores and parking is tight BUT they provide valet service which is a bonus in my book and the crew outside is great. If you're looking for tasty fresh seafood or a delicious hot steak this is your place!

Popei's (pronounced like the Sailor Man) is in a strip mall. It has gotten so popular over the years that they now have valet parking. We just always park across Wantagh Avenue. It's easier. The ambiance is nothing to speak of with 2 rooms, the bar area, and the main dining room. Unfortunately, as soon as you walk in, there's a horrible smell that lingers that has been there for all the years we've gone. Is it mold? Is it the bathroom all the way in the back? Is it dirty rags they use to clean this place? We don't know. Luckily the service and food make up for it. As soon as we sat down, our waitress came with the most delectable garlic bread and asked us if we wanted drinks. She came back in what seemed like moments. We ordered appetizers: I had the biggest, chewiest, cherrystone clams on the half shell with lemon and a nice horseradishy cocktail sauce. I've been into oysters lately, so when I ordered these clams, I forgot how delectable they were. Fresh and briny perfection. Hubby got the Long Island Chowder which is a mix of both Manhattan and New England Chowder. Again, perfection. For the main meal, hubby got an everything seafood pasta and I got a seafood pasta covered in Ricotta and Mozzarella with broccoli (must have those greens!) mixed in. We each took home more than half. We'll each add more pasta to our dishes as there was so much seafood in our dishes. Leftovers for days! Our waitress even remembered to ask about the email giving me $15 off my meal as a birthday gift. Great freebie! I would say go. Definitely. Just be warned about those couple of things and you'll have the best time.

Warmly welcomed. Seated immediately Water and delicious garlic butter bread which was toasty and wonderful. Fish was cooked to temperature. Drinks were fresh and crisp and delightful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place gets SUPER busy... so ensure to come early.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar is a great place to have a cocktail and an appetizer while waiting for the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Valet is accommodating for everyone especially those needing a little assistance. A must try...

I've been coming to Popei's since I was a kid. It's always been good, but I think I'm bold enough to say that it's somehow gotten even better over time (or maybe I'm just old enough to appreciate it for what it is). There are few places you can go and eat this well at any price point, but the constantly evolving specials and weeknight all you can eat deals really allow you to get a true bang for your buck. Service is swift and friendly, ambiance is a very casual come as you are type of vibe. The garlic bread they have here is the best you'll ever have and should not be missed. This time around I tried the new "pick two" combo - I went with crab legs and a lobster, plus it came with a salad. My family also got the expectant lobster, a whole lobster stuffed with crabmeat and shrimp, which is outstanding. The steamers here are always fresh, sweet and delicious, and the jumbo shrimp cocktail truly lives up to its name. If you haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for?

We had a family dinner here one Saturday evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Because they were busy, we sat in the tent out back which was quieter and still warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was great -- very friendly and checked on menu items to verify gluten wasn't in them. I only got a few photos of what we all ordered, but the food by in large seemed fresh and in large quantity. For dessert, we told them about a birthday and everyone sang! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It felt like a being in a comfy seafood home dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Update. Same as last time, [[HIGHLIGHT]]more crowded[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], different dishes, food was excellent (see photos below), very friendly staff (our waitress gave me a big hug before we left, even after I told her approaching open arms that I was already spoken for, which she dismissed as "cute," and smiling owner/chef shook my hand with a strong grip). It's a keeper.

Visited my favorite Clam bar and had the crab legs which were at a "Market Rate" of 60.dollars. i was not disappointed! Everything was delicious right down to the Baked Potato and Broccoli with a few steamed Carrots. My friend had the swordfish which she said was really good. We also enjoyed our server. I think her name was maybe Kayla? I know she was a kindergarten teacher. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was so lively and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We even had a great time with table buddies![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Took dessert to go. Chocolate cake, (not so good), and Red Velvet! Hey Joe, can a sis get a little key lime pie? This is where you want to go when you want to eat ....and feel the Love!

Ask the Community - Popei's Clam Bar

Do you have booths or just regular tables?

I have one corner booth, the Rest are regular tables.

Hi! Are you guys doing any all you can eat specials yet? Thank you!

Tuesday Wednesday all you can eat crab legs Tuesday and Thursday are all you can eat shrimp

Are there any AYCE deals going on currently?

    No I’m sorry, not yet!!

Are they still offering AYCE snow crab?

We are not offering the all you can eat specials at the moment due to the fact that we cannot get the abundance of the crab legs needed. Hopefully soon things will be getting back to normal and they will be coming back. We do have crab legs though…

What time does the lunch menu end and the dinner menu start? Thanks.

Lunch menu ends at 4:00 but, the dinner menu is served all day and night!!

Are they offering to-go drinks seeing as there is no sitdown eating allowed?

    Yes we do!!

What's the price on the AYCE CRAB LEG SPECIAL?

    Hi. They are $58.99.

Any recommendations for someone who does not eat seafood? FYI, I have no choice in the matter as it was my FIL's pick for his bday dinner. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I personally like the chicken parmigiana and the chicken marsala is good too

The fried calamari and jalapeño appetizer was delicious, except that I got more rings than tentacles. I would have preferred half tentacles/half rings, and there was a little too much breading for me. I also ordered the tortellini en brodo with some pancetta thrown in. I sprinkled some grated Parmesan cheese and fresh ground black pepper on top, and the flavors melded beautifully. I enjoyed a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon with my meal: Primitivo Di Manduria, Carlo Sani 'Oro' Riserva, Puglia. It is a full-bodied Italian red wine with a flavor profile of red jam, dark fruits, chocolate and spice--up my alley! I enjoyed it so much that I plan to buy a bottle at the first liquor store near me that has one for sale. Alex was very nice and accommodating, and the restaurant was clean. I will be back.

We were the only customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night, yet it took over 1 hour and 15 minutes to receive our food. Even then, at the 45-minute mark, only about 40% of our order arrived. For a party of six, our order was not particularly complicated: two burritos, two taco meals, a chicken sandwich, and guacamole with chips. The remainder of the order did not arrive until the 1.5-hour mark. To make matters worse, my son's meal was incorrect when it finally came out, adding even more delay and frustration to an already lengthy wait. Throughout the wait, there were no drink refills, no updates on our order, and little attention from the staff. We also received no napkins or serving utensils with our food and had to ask for basic items that should have been provided from the start. The dining experience itself lacked any atmosphere. There was no music playing and no television on, which only made the long wait feel even longer and more uncomfortable. As for the food, it was lackluster and underwhelming. Tortilla chips and fries were burned. Bun for chicken sandwich was not warmed. The dishes were very basic, with little presentation or attention to detail, and they certainly did not justify the extended wait. What made the experience especially confusing was that this all happened while we were the only customers in the restaurant on a Saturday night. A simple order, an empty dining room, no communication, no refills, an incorrect meal, and a 90-minute wait just didn't make sense. The only positive aspect was that the restaurant is dog-friendly. Otherwise, this was one of the most frustrating and puzzling dining experiences we've had in a long time.

They had no orange juice, they had no cranberry juice so there went my standards of cranberry juice and seltzer, or orange juice and seltzer. Eventually I asked for red bull, no energy drinks either. We were able…read moreto walk in towards the end of dinner service on a Saturday and get a table for two without a reservation. Nothing but great things to say. Walk in, the open kitchen to your left (seems like a brilliant use of the space layout they had to work with). Meet the smiling host, then straight into the dining room. The dining room is elevated for North Bellmore, white tablecloths, lighting, fixtures, plates, silverware - they spent a few bucks making it nice. We ordered too much, which happens when eating late after skipping lunch.... Apps: 1. The grilled halloumi was great - sometimes it can get rubbery - not here. They were served over thick sliced roasted tomatoes which held up just enough to get some grill marks as well. I could have done without the glaze, but it was still ok. 2. Tuna tartare - deep red tuna, diced, over avocado - well plated, good dish. 3. Couldn't decide on a grilled fish app, so went with the grilled seafood sampler - amazing flavor on it all - calamari, shrimp and octopus all tender and kissed just enough on that open flame. Knife work on the garnishes and plating was done by someone who cares. Diced peppers under the calamari must've been quickly pickled - they had great flavor and kept just enough crunch to make a great dish even better. For entrees - went with the grilled salmon and ribeye steak... couldn't believe it was as good as it was for the price. Salmon was delicious, juicy, and even the skin on (plated skin down) was perfect - which I can never do, especially on a grill. The ribeye was delicious - lots of rib-cap, perfectly medium-rare, even on a hot plate, and I could swear the chef might have predicted cook time to put the more rare side plate down to make it become a medium steak by the time it hit the table. And the fries..... ohhhhhh the fries..... I'm a sucker for french fries when done right, and I ordered these fries and apps alone, it would have been a perfect meal.... perfectly hot, crispy, and plentiful. Stuffed, packed up some of the entrees for leftovers, and skipped desert and coffee - it was late. But will deffff be back and can't wait to try some of the offerings on that menu. Oh and here's a tip... if you park facing the restaurant at night, turn off your headlights as you're pulling into the spot. Was it a particularly flawless night, or is this the norm? I will preface this by saying I consider K-city a 5/5 for Long Island - probably a 4/5 if K-city was in Queens tbh. If i was in the Nassau area I default to K-city vs. Kpot! I mainly go to K-city for the hotpot vs. the kbbq/hot food selection. The bbq is okay but the grill itself is pretty small. The prepared food selection is also okay, includes both hot food & sushi but I mainly consider it as food to eat while my hotpot is getting ready (lol). The broths are very legit with the variety offered being spicy (mala with the Szechuan peppercorns), mushroom, pork bone, herbal ( I believe is a mix of pork & chicken + herbs), tomato and mushroom. My favorite thus far have been the spicy & herbal! I appreciate that the meats are also included in the buffet section as well so I can control the quantity as opposed to some other hotpot/bbq places where the meats come pre-portioned. I think the main drawback of K-City as opposed to Spring Shabu (my personal 2nd favorite choice in nassau) is definitely the veggie selection & quality. Because the money items, the salmon sashimi and oysters took forever to be refilled. I had to ask the staff when they bothered to look my direction. Other buffets constantly stock their food, this one didn't. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We have loved Ginza since the Massapequa days and try to visit every 6 months or so!…read more Today my husband and I visited for lunch and, as always, it was exceptional. The service is always very warm and attentive with the perfect balance of checking in without being overwhelming. My husband ordered the chirashi lunch and I ordered the Bento C but substituted shumai for the spicy tuna gyoza, we also split a 3 roll combo, and added a piece of ikura for my husband and shitake mushroom roll. The bento c is my absolute favorite. I always order it especially because the kani salad is the best. The thing about Ginza is that it is truly amazing quality and you really get what you pay for, especially at lunch. We have leftovers for tonight as we clearly overdid it but I'm certainly not complaining. Can't wait for our next visit!

This was definitely a five star experience…read more The vibe in this place is very cool and as advertised: "Swanky New York City"-ish. Food did not disappoint. Ordered chicken skewers to start followed by the sushi/sashimi dinner entrée. The skewers were delicious and perfectly cooked. The fish was extremely fresh and the pieces were generously portioned. Solid service....attentive and balanced. Thankfully, we beat the rush because the place was full by the time we got ready to leave. The parking lot is a little crazy, so just be careful of drivers and pedestrians not paying attention. But the food!!! So good. I would absolutely visit Ginza again.
