Pistachio crusted cod

Really an old-school dining experience you don't really see much anymore. Service from start to finish was top-notch. Came for my grandma's birthday and they ending the meal all coming out to sing for her, plus a complimentary tiramisu for her as well. The watermelon salad was fantastic, and we could not stop eating from their fresh bread basket! The shrimp cocktail was so fresh, large, and well-cleaned, the cocktail sauce amazing! Pistachio crusted cod was very good, substituted with mashed potatoes. They were very accommodating for dietary restrictions and preferences. At the end of the meal, they what offered an after-dinner drink on the house.

Where did this restaurant come from? We stopped in for dinner with two families - everything was very good. Step into the dining room and you will forget what the parking lot, entryway and bar looked like. Service was all very good, felt like we had our own personal water glass refill server. Steaks are expensive - but not as much as the steak for two or three at the high-end places - BUT those porterhouses are not cut as thick. Great menu variety. Very much enjoyed. We will come back.

Love coming here! It's so quaint and cozy. A real family establishment. Everyone is so wonderful here. The service is always top tier. We've never had a bad experience or bad steak. They are always consistent, whether it is super busy or not. The food is always delicious. I usually start off with the slab of bacon or if they have zucchini fries on the specials menu i got those. The burrata salad is excellent as well. For entree recommend the rib eye, it comes of a sizzling plate and the server will plate it for you. Literally one of the BEST STEAKS you'll get on the island. If they have brussel sprouts on the specials menu, I highly recommend getting those as a side, they are incredible!

What a hidden gem, went with 2 other couples to end out restaurant week and this restaurant is serving some of the best tasting food around. Everything is fresh and delicious and service is outstanding. Old style charm with a large wooden bar area when you walk in... bartender making top notch cocktails. Extensive wine menu as well. This is an Italian steakhouse serving sizzling steaks as we saw them being brought out to our neighboring tables. Highly recommend , definitely a new favorite for everyone at our table.

Food was very good. The staff was able to make the chicken dish (from the specials menu) gluten free. It was delicious. My niece and I split it and we were satiated- not too full. Husband loved the chicken piccata. It was pretty busy that night and we had to make a quick reservation. It wasn't loud, but a little tight. People passing behind us kept bumping into our chairs. We didn't mind since the food and service were so good! There is valet parking in the back. Highly recommend!

The service was excellent! Aneda (pardon the spelling) was our server. She was very sweet and attentive. The baked clams were delicious, the bacon had delicious flavor but the main star of the show was the steak. Cooked to perfection, mouthwatering and tender. The ambiance was nice and was dimly lit. Cannot wait to go back! The tiramisu was also one of the best I've ever had and the meal ended with cordials on the house!

When we walked in, it felt more like a busy pizzeria with a dining area than the trendy spot we were expecting. The place was packed, and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a table. Once seated, we noticed right away that the menu didn't match what we had seen online. In the videos, every pasta dish came with burrata, but here it was an extra charge. The bread bowl itself was also a $7 add-on, which pushed the $25 pasta dishes to nearly $40 each -- a price that simply doesn't make sense for what you get. Staff was friendly, but the busboys seemed completely untrained, and service overall was slow. We did receive our minestrone soup quickly, but it was just okay. The soup's kidney beans and chickpeas were noticeably undercooked. When the pasta arrived, the disappointment continued. The burrata, which we paid extra for, was cold and hard rather than creamy. Even the waitress seemed surprised when we pointed it out. We also noticed that the regular pasta dishes (served in normal bowls) were much larger portions than the bread-bowl pastas -- despite the bread bowls costing more. At the end of the meal, the reality became clear: the bread-bowl trend is more gimmick than substance. With two pasta dishes and one soup totaling around $100, the value just isn't there. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. Don't be fooled by what you see on social media -- the experience simply doesn't live up to the hype.

So this past Sunday we checked the website and the Sunday Family Day specials were still listed. Our family went to celebrate a birthday and planned on ordering off that menu. After being seated I noticed we were missing that menu so I asked our server and was told, they no longer offer that menu. We were all seated and had started ordering drinks by that time so we stayed. My disappointment and frustration is the menu was and still is today as I write this, listed on the website. I believe the menu should have been honored since the restaurant is still advertising it and the same entries are and were still be offered, just at a higher price.

We went early because we were seeing a show. 5:30 pm on a Friday. So restaurant wasn't busy at all yet. What was a little frustrating was that waiter came over three times to get main dinner order. I don't understand the rush. We were eating the appetizer and almost done. No indication that we were in a rush. Yet he felt the need to come over again and interrupt to get the dinner order. As opposed to letting us finish the appetizer, clear table. And then come back. I know it's ingrained to flip tables. But come on. Otherwise. Highly recommend

4.5 First time…read moredining at Baccaro, we arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday night and while there weren't many tables taken, they were reserved. We got a high top table in the bar area which was fine. Reservations seem to be a must. People started pouring in and the restaurant and bar filled up rather quickly. The wait staff is just lovely, especially our server Andrew. They start you off with some warm crusty bread and a trio of options for it; butter, olive oil and a cheese spread. We started off with the eggplant meatballs and they were delicious. Served with a lovely tomato sauce, ricotta and some cheese shavings, they were so so good. For the entrees we went for the Pork Osso Bucco and there was a daily special for a Lamb Osso Bucco. First of all the portions are huge, their "dinner plates" are really platters. So while prices are on the high side you get a ton of food; and I must say the food warrants the price. Back to the entrees, the pork Osso Bucco was sublime. The meat shank was super tender and the sauce was superb. Served with a fantastic squash risotto and garlicky zucchini zoodles, it was all perfect and I had a another full dinner to bring home. The lamb version was unctuous and delicious, topped with a demi glaze, served with risotto and asparagus it was another fabulous dish. Baccaro is a wonderful spot for a fantastic meal in a lively, comfortable setting.

Our waitress made us feel completely comfortable we were laughing, having side conversations, and genuinely enjoying ourselves all night. By the end of the evening, she even said, "Goodnight, love you!" and quickly laughed saying she didn't mean to say it. That pretty much summed up the vibe of the night friendly, relaxed, and memorable. The food was excellent from start to finish. I had the Caesar salad appetizer, which was very good, and my sister had the calamari, which she said was excellent. For our entrées, we both ordered the chicken parmesan with alavaca sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. To finish the night, we shared the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was the perfect treat. The portion is definitely big enough for two people, so I wouldn't recommend ordering one per person. The location is beautiful and right by the water true to the restaurant's name. The only small thing to note is the parking. There are two parking lots, and the first one is definitely the better option. The second lot leads closer to the waterfront entrance and can feel a little tight and snug when parking. Overall, we had an amazing time and would absolutely go back. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better service.

Compared to the farmingdale location the ambiance of this one is giving forgotten step sister aside from the back table(pictured on the website)they did up very nicely. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very sweet and managed a basically full bar attending to every guest with care. We ordered the Italian nachos which we loved and the Picasso. The nachos had a generous amount of crumbled sausage cheese and bruschetta as well as some spicy peppers. We really enjoyed the nachos. The Picasso was a nice size, but the sandwich lacked a little seasoning and needed a little more balsamic. It felt kind of dry. For cocktails we got the strawberry lemon drop, it tasted a little medicinal and the cucumber lime spritz type drink(I can't recall the exact name). This one was very good. An overall very mixed experience but I want to give it another shot even if only for the nachos
