We came for a baby shower, so I can't speak to the cost, but this seems like they specialize in hosting private parties. Everything was pretty streamlined. The tables were a little tightly packed together, but the server quickly brought out bread (the cheesy one was really good), let people choose an entree out of 3 options, then brought out a shareable pasta dish appetizer. I got the stuffed shrimp which came with vegetables. The sauce on it was pretty heavy, but overall a great dish. They ended with a plate of sweet treats and one with fruit, and they also cut up the brought in cake. Overall food was great, a lot of people were able to get together to celebrate, and the service was efficient for drinks/plate removal. There is a decent sized parking lot. It seemed everyone was happy with the food and the chance to get together, so it was a great venue to rent for an event. read more

The restaurant looked beautiful, the food was delicious, and our waitress, Ann, was exceptional! It must have been exhausting to serve our long table with 14 people , but she was lovely, so nice and pleasant! read more

NEVER AGAIN Recently I went to the restaurant with my wife and another couple. We had a nice time and we then paid the bill in cash and left a very nice tip, When we got home the waitress actually called my home and told my wife we didn't leave any tip. I most certainly did. Obviously one of the staffers saw cash and an opportunity and took it. How dare they call my home. never again!!! read more

Went there for lunch. Service was terrific. I ordered the broccoli rabe and sausage and it was really good. My friend ordered the eggplant hero and it was huge. Would definitely go back. read more

Definitely a hidden gem, so let's keep it that way. A known "neighborhood" restaurant. Great chicken Milanese and also shrimp (large) masala. Highly recommend read more

I paid cash for a meal and left a sizable tip. My wife gets a phone call an hour after we left the restaurant from the waitress saying we didn't leave a tip. In my entire life that has never happened getting a call from a waitress. I will make sure all of my neighbors in Bellmore and Merrick and the surrounding areas are aware of the incident. read more

The food is consistently delightful, the staff is warm and attentive, and the bartender crafts superb drinks. on Thursday night, live music fills the air, transforming the space with soulful voices and masterful piano accompaniment. Mens' Smoker on the 16th ........ Thoroughly sacramental experience. If the church filled folks with the same genuine fully human experience for life as Guys achieves they wouldn't be wondering why the pews are empty. It's more than food ... for that you can go to Howard Johnson's. For ego inflation, one can go to "The Ritz Carlton". You don't look at a face, you look into it. All about appreciation. ***** read more

Went on a slow Tuesday night (8/13) and literally only one other table was full. I got the Penne Rustica (penne, sausage, tomatoes in garlic sauce). The penne was way overcooked, it was slimy. My wife's chicken parm was watery. The tap water tasted like dirt and chlorine mixed, and was room temperature. So we ordered sprites which came with the entire glass full of ice and very little soda. I told the waitress the food was overcooked and while she did initially offer to replace the meal, I didn't feel like waiting so I said I'll deal with it. At the end, she took off the overpriced soda from the bill, not the meal lol. How can an Italian place mess up pasta dishes? I'll never ever go back. read more

Came in for dinner on a Friday night. Place is smaller than it looks which is fine except the tables are super close together. It was early so not super loud yet but you can hear every word of conversation from the tables next to you (especially since we were at a tiny table in the middle). Margarita was OK but flavor was a bit off. The fried mozzarella in scampi sauce was unique but very rich. The sauce was delicious but didn't seem to fit the dish for us. Clams Oreganata were good, no sand at all, but the clams stuck to the shell making them a bit difficult to eat. Veal piccata was OK not as tender as it could be and the knives at the table were not helping. The piccata sauce was tasty but the portion was a bit small for the price and no capers to be found. I didn't realize capers were something you need to ask for when it's a standard component of a dish at least usually. Veal marsala (same comment about portion size) was delicious. Sauce was darker in color than most so maybe less cream but delicious regardless. Service was friendly but felt a little rushed. read more

Never been disappointed. Had the sole cardinale with angel hair pasta , excellent, will be back soon!

We just had my daughter's bridal shower at guy Anthony's yesterday. Everything was perfect. AJ and Guy was so easy to work with and everything was perfect from the food to the atmosphere to the wait service. For the quality of food we got the price was extremely reasonable. I also enjoy eating dinner there. read more

Our first time to this establishment, the entire staff could not of been nicer, what a breath of fresh air to have a friendly, professional staff take care of us. The food was excellent, from baked clams to salmon and a pasta dish. Nice crowd of people on a Saturday night. Will definitely going back. Cheers to the staff. read more

Good food and service just a little small tables close to each other. Great bar service ok

Looks decent at curbside... and then you enter.. rude waitress, disgusting food. Pasta itself tasted burnt! Don't waste time, pass it.

I have passed this place for years and decided to finally try it ...very disappointed....the inside is very nice . .warm atmosphere...service was very good ...HOWEVER if you are looking for a good meal keep driving . The fried zucchini looked and tasted like it was from applebees... has pasta Primavera for my entree ..it looked great but I literally used a whole bowl of grated cheese so there would be some flavor...and even that didn't help .. ....absolutely tasteless. Not good at all .. skipped desert . Was disappointed enough for one night .. m read more

Very friendly and welcoming establishment. Food was prepared hot and fresh. Very homemade tasting food. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food served. Waitresses and bartenders all friendly. This restaurant has a HomeTown feel. The bread served at the table was excellent especially the tomato bread. The Waitresses know the menu which is a plus as well as all the specials of the day. They make accurate suggestions to your liking and you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back for this homemade Italian food. read more

We all really enjoyed our meals last night. Food was well prepared and attractive on the plate. Also, all the ingredients were very fresh. Drinks were tasty. We will be going back. read more

The food is good but......... They had a male singer that first of all might have had the worse voice I have ever heard along with the fact that he was so loud you had to struggle to have a conversation. I love going out to a place with entertainment but the volume has to be reasonable and the talent has to be descent. I think Guy should reconsider having this person return. The 2 tables next to us had the same complaint. Might be best for me to go elsewhere and not get tortured. read more

Hosted a party here. Food was delicious, atmosphere was perfect. I will be hosting future events here.

If I can give this place 10 stars I would, just for the service alone deserves 10 stars,, Kristen she was the best, as the place got busier she still found time to come to a table, to check up to see if we needed anything, plus she makes a great whiskey sour, even the bus staff, refilling her water or drinks and ask him if you want more bread, , The atmosphere in this place is delightful, nice tablecloth, they have a full bar with televisions light music which is very nice, very friendly family type of atmosphere,, now let's go to the food, everything Kristen recommended was terrific,The grilled baby lamb chops were terrific, The fried eggplant over arugula was out of this world,The double cut pork chops tender, and delicious , I love the chicken Valentina would definitely get that again,, we have plenty of desserts, a cocktail menu, overall this place was great, very happy I stopped by, will definitely be by again, oh yes It was very nice of Kristen to bring out some toasted Italian bread with butter to go with my chicken soup a delightful combination read more

In the Merrick/Bellmore area restaurants open and close with alarming regularity. Very few become neighborhood fixtures, as that requires, a great chef, a professional, friendly staff and, of course, great food and drinks. It's no surprise that after many years Guy Anthony's has become one of those neighborhood fixtures. It's certainly our "go to" place for dinner. In addition to the regular menu Italian you can always a few surprises on the daily menu. The Italian selections are always superb. And the good news is no matter what you pick, you can be assured that your dish will be delicious. If you haven't been there before, try it. You will find yourself going back again and again. We came back after not having come in many years. We feel the quality went down and service not attentive and slow unless you are a regular. Used to be excellent. Sorry to say but the singer there was not good and annoying. Will not return. read more

We have been holding on to a gift certificate for Guy Anthony's Italian Bistro for several years and finally decided to go. We were so impressed and decided it would now be our "go-to" place. There were three chefs (with head coverings) in a wide open kitchen for everyone to watch (I like that!). Two waitresses and Guy Anthony stayed at the front of the house, and it all equated to a well-oiled machine! Guy seated us and went back to working the bar. The two waitresses seamlessly waited tables, bussed them, took orders, brought them out, and filled water glasses while smiling and talking with the customers. Our waitress, Jeannie, introduced herself and then asked for our names. For the rest of the evening, she would say things such as, "Bill, do you want another drink? Diana, how is your salad?" I felt as if we were in the "Cheers" bar ---- a place where everybody knows your name! Jeannie brought a basket to the table: cheesy bread and mini pizza bread, and set it down next to a small vase with a fresh rose. I browsed the menu: I usually get fried calamari for an appetizer, but I noticed that one of the menu items was calamari over pasta (you could have any sauce you wished). The calamari could be sauteed or fried. I opted for fried over linguine with garlic and oil. The calamari was so crisp on the outside yet incredibly tender. And, for the first time ever, there wasn't a puddle of oil at the bottom of the plate; it was perfect. My husband ordered Veal Piccata. Jeannie said, "It doesn't come with capers. Would you like some?" (Wow!) My husband never picked up his knife; the veal was so tender that he could cut it with his fork! Despite a large party of eight at the table next to us, Jeannie was extremely attentive to our needs. She didn't rush us. When taking our dessert order, I asked for raspberry sorbet. She returned and said they were out of raspberry; she asked if I would care for lemon or mango. When she brought the lemon sorbet, she told me she didn't charge me for it because it wasn't what I wanted. ---How delightful! And I must say, the sorbet was crisp, tart, and refreshing! As you can see from the photos I posted, it's a real cozy, comfy neighborhood spot. People were eating at the bar, chatting with each other, and speaking with Guy and the waitresses. The ambiance was palpable, the food was extraordinary, and the prices were very reasonable. We wouldn't change a thing! read more

We had a fine meal and experience at Guy Anthony's. I was in town visiting my sister, so we went for some nice Italian food. Everything was really good, from the Old Fashioned and wine at the start to the Sambuca at the end. I had a veal piccata that was delicious after starters of crispy Brussels sprouts and a fried eggplant/burrata plate. Katie, our server, was terrific. Friendly, helpful, and efficient, she kept a nice watch over us without being intrusive. (Good luck in Brazil, Katie). Overall, we left laughing and satisfied. Highly recommended. read more

Guy Anthony's is a local favorite with families. I've only eaten here once, but my parents love it. I had one of the pasta dishes and thought it was just fine. The wine was equally okay. Our waitress was friendly but maybe not the most attentive. We went on a Friday night and while the dining room was pretty empty, the bar area was full! I guess it's that kind of place. I didn't hate this place - the food was good and the portion sizes were okay but the prices were pretty crazy for an average pasta dish. There are definitely better Italian restaurants in the area. read more
