Unfortunately I'm unable to honestly comment on our recent visit as we were unable to enjoy our meal other than the basket of bread and clam appetizers that were finally delivered. That day the restaurant was overwhelmed with a large party ( 100 customers) from a local community center which severely impacted overall service, not just to our party but other guests as well. Despite observing several tables leave we elected to stay but after a two and half hour wait we had to cancel our orders due to prior commitments. Although our food order was cancelled we were told to pay for the drinks ( which we did). We totally understand how overwhelmed the restaurant was that day but management should have been better prepared especially knowing about the large party event scheduled that day. Additionally it would have been nice to be warned in advance of what was told to my associate " there may be a slight delay in service" after we paid the drink bill. However a " slight delay " shouldn't be mean over 2 hours. Despite that experience we have rescheduled our lunch for July ( but will call in advance if there are any large parties scheduled ). read more

This restaurant was highly recommended, situated in a residential Neighbourhood ,the sign says waterfront, the back of the restaurant faces a canal. Not sure if that justifies the name. The service was good and friendly, but I think the waiter lied to me about the raviolis being homemade , the lobster ravioli had no lobster in it and there was one shrimp that was cut into three pieces, overwhelmed with a cream sauce, definitely feel very bamboozled. 1000% not homemade. The veal Oso Buco was served with no vegetables, had no flour and the sauce was missing, we asked for a side of pasta with marinara. The marinara was horrible. It had an overwhelming taste of oregano according to other reviews they're under new ownership not sure if they're going to last very long one of the worst meals I've ever had. read more

We made a reservation for a specific time and expected our table to be ready when we arrived. Unfortunately, when we got there, a private party was still taking place in the main dining area, and we were told we would have to wait for the event to end and for the staff to clean up before we could be seated. I understand that unexpected delays can happen, but if the restaurant knew the space would still be occupied, reservations should not have been accepted for that time slot. The whole point of making a reservation is to avoid waiting and to have some assurance that accommodations will be ready upon arrival. Was looking forward to dinner as remembered good Italian food, decent wine selection, and good service. The prices went up as with all the other places. Ceasar salad $15 and beet salads $18, tasted ok, bit sparse. Baked clams good. The bread was disappointing, as seemed like white bread and not the rustic good quality bread. The Farfalle Alla Roberto was mostly pasta, dry, little asparagus and shrimp. Linguine Frutti did Mare was tasty $37. Osco Bucco was on the specials and was very good. My tiramasu was small, too sweet, disapponting. The bus lady provided excellent service. In summary, at these higher prices and the misses mentioned,not sure will rtn. read more

Fantastic staff, so kind, so professional, they give excellent service, 110%. Midweek lunch specials are the way to go if you're on a budget. We were here for a family occasion and were treated like royalty. I can't wait to go back again for a girls lunch, especially when the weather is warm and we can sit outside. I had my baby shower at Villa d'Acqua with around 40 people. I was born and raised in Italy and the family that owns this place is from the same area where I'm from. Explains why the food was delicious. We had salad, three different types of pasta, various meats and desserts. Everything was excellent. The back room (where we were) has a wonderful ambience with the water view and a mural. They also added nice light decorations, printed customized menus, and ordered custom napkins to follow the Winnie the Pooh theme I had. They have very fair prices too. So here we are out on the Island, looking for a good place for late lunch. After a few tries, we come into this place in, I think Bellmore. I'm immediately struck by the waterfront seating, but it's a bit too cold today. So we opt for a table near the window. The place is bright and the crowd is animated. Mostly retired Baby Boomers. The lunch price fixed at $21.95 is perfect So I decide on the soup of the day. Lentils. My son asked for the lobster ravioli, not on the specials. Oh yes we first order a bottle of Cotes D'Rhone and bargain at $45 a bottle!! And of course San Pelagrino sparkling water. The food comes and it is all delicious. Rubin is our waiter and he's very engaged returning numerous times, asking if we need anything. All is perfect. We end with dessert. Ice cream and flourless chocolate cake and espresso. Last Sunday, 2/1/26, I had the privilege of celebrating a milestone birthday at Villa d'Aqua. I could not have been happier with the experience! We planned the party with help from Casey and Alessandra. They were both very pleasant, accommodating and easy to work with. They were extremely flexible and gave us lots of input into the menu, the table placements, the decor and decorations. Everything turned out great! The service was excellent, and the food , which was absolutely delicious and plentiful, was served hot and in a timely fashion. We had a total of 35 people and we received lots of compliments. As a devoted customer, I'm always praising the staff regarding the delicious food and impeccable service offered at Villa D' Aqua. I've never had a moment to write a review so today I decided to do so. As I began reading some of the other reviews I found one in particular to be very upsetting I myself received a gift card for my Birthday which I presented last week with proof of purchase at the end of a delicious meal and had no issue with them accepting it. I had dined at Villa once or twice before the new owners took over last July and the food was good. However, the ambience and the vibe created by the new owners has transformed me in to becoming a frequent flyer. I enjoy the food, the service, the entertainment, and have recommended this place to friends and colleagues in my networking group. Friends of mine have had Christmas parties and I rented out the entire restaurant for my mom's 103rd birthday celebration. People are still talking about how the staff made us feel like family .The feedback from my recommendations has always been positive. Every establishment has rules and people unfortunately become belligerent and want to see a place fail because they didn't get a free meal. I give this Bellmore hidden gem 5 stars!!!!!!! read more

Beware of new scam Villa D'Aqua is commencing. They are claiming to be under new ownership and no longer accepting gift cards that do not have an expiration date. Under NYS General Business Law 396-I businesses are required to honor no expiration gift cards. Villa D'Aqua operates under the same name and location and falsely claim they are under new ownership when the records indicate otherwise. We tried to resolve this issue civilly and they refuse to accept the law. Here is the call: The hostess that answered the phone, Alexandra claimed to be the new owner. She was very rude and refused to accept a gift card. Additionally, she was nasty and continued to make incorrect and misleading statements about everything. Starting with when they supposedly went under new ownership, which is clearly false because records indicate they operate under Kulla Corp., Alexandra who is clearly clueless on loyal costumer can not possibly be the owner because she said she needed to speak with her manager inorder to get back to me, putting me on a 5 minute hold. Who ever is running this place, needs to get it together before they are investigated. This gift card has no expiration date on it and should be honored. They are cashing in on previously bought gift cards. They are rude, greedy, and lack proper restaurant management skills. Maybe that's the reason the restaurant, is slowly dying and their food went way down hill. They will have future issues and if you fall in the same situation file a complaint with NYS Division of Consumer Protection. Don't let these small businesses rob you! read more

My friend and I stopped by for dinner ~5pm after a day at the beach and they had plenty of seating for us to choose from. Okay, This was a pleasant surprise. It was a perfect night for Outdoor dining. It was our first visit to Villa D'Aqua & happy we didn't listen to previous reviews. The waiter was wonderful. I asked him for his recommendation & he was spot on with everything. He does everything so be patient they are a little slow but it's enjoyable being outdoors. We order the appetizer special which was octopus & calamari. This was disappointing. It was basically calamari appetizer with very little octopus. I would of preferred more octopus which was perfectly grilled & tender. The Calamari gets a little tough when grilled. The Dinners we ordered were Grilled Salmon, Linguine with clams & Bronzino trio which were all delicious. For dessert we had a carrot cake & cream puffs that were absolutely delicious plus iced Cappuccino & hot Expresso which was the perfect ending. I would definitely recommend this place. My family have celebrated many an occasion at Villa D'Aqua over the years. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance and the owner used to come around and congratulate us for whatever milestone we were celebrating. This past weekend my 80 yearr old parents went on their own, planning on using a gift certificate we had gotten for them at Christmas. When it came time to pay their bill, they were told their $100 gift card was no longer valid as the restaurant had changed ownership and that there was a small sign posted in the entryway stating that. A restaurant where we have spent thousands over the years, turned down an elderly couple with a gift card for VILLA D'AQUA because they changed ownership (and not restaurant name). They refused them flat out and told them to address it with the old management (actually giving them the name of the restaurant they now owned). One thing that will destroy a nice meal is that level of pettiness. We will not be coming back. read more

Extremely loud we were so relieved to leave and be able to hear each other. Ladies room was pretty awful. Smelly with too much air freshener. When Italian food is so abundant and a dime and dozen, don't make this your first choice. I hate being negative but this was just basic Italian. We ordered an appetizer, calamari. It was very chewey, not good. The sauce was the best part of that. We ordered two entrees, rigatoni de terre and an order of penne ala vodka. The sauce tasted exactly the same, which is fine. The sauce was ok, definitely not the best I ever had but not the worst. I'm more bothered by the fact that the rigatoni de terre was supposed to have chicken and chopped shrimp. I may have been able to reconstruct one shrimp and I maybe had 3-5 small pieces of chicken in the entire dish. Picture included. The bread was also super stale, definitely not made that day. The meal was fine for $65~ but I definitely would not run back here. Anthony's kitchen across the street on Merrick Road is much better. I see people complaining about the view sitting outside of the boat yard, you should realize the restaurant is on the water but about 12 minutes to the bay, you're deep in the canal where that restaurant is so relax. This was just an incredible dining night out for our family. About a dozen of us were out for dinner and all of the dishes were excellent and exceeded expectations. The real highlight was the staff. They were so attentive yet gave us so much space. That's a really high level of service when you never have to look for them and you have that space. Our visit to this restaurant was chosen for the purpose of outdoor dining reservations and specifically their location. We had not seen our close friends for a few months and wanted to find a restaurant that was patient with their customers dining visits which worked out perfect. The staff was friendly, courteous and the setting was outdoors in the partial full moon light. I ordered the Branzino over spinach in a lemon butter sauce along with shrimp & bay scallops which was delightful. Very nice old school Italian restaurant on the water in bellmore. Have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. We usually always start with the fried calamari and a bottle of wine. The wine list is very nice and the calamari is always cooked perfect and is served in a napkin so it's never soggy. For dinner I have a few favorites including the veal parm and the chicken sorrentino. For Dessert they have multiple delicious options however the cheesecake and chocolate cake are the best in my opinion. The staff is always super friendly and they usually offer you an after dinner cordial on the house which is very nice. Overall a very good spot to try if your looking for a nice traditional Italian spot. He created hot and cold appetizer platters for the table, accommodated dietary restrictions, everyone's food came out at the same time! He was lots of fun.. great sense of humor and no one hoovered over us or rushed us!!! 2 thumbs up to Tom and his entire team!!
