Holy Moly!! I'm sure glad I followed my yelp elite friend's reviews to help me with dining here. TBH everything from the customer service, food and drinks was great!! I made reservations thru opentable, but when arriving I saw some availability inside and outside. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waiter was Rich, he was friendly, funny and attentive to what we ordered. He apparently juggles apples too impressive lol but they are great at this restaurant. Food: I had the lobster mac and cheese and the not so old fashioned, both were delicious. My friends had shrimp and fries with the rum punch as well as the chicken and drink with prosecco and with a juice that made it turn purple pretty cool. I believe it came with a lemon drop shot. Appetizers we got the calamari and mozzarella Rangoon delish. We sat outside in front on the mile but I hear they have seating in the back area near the water. Definitely come here!! In my opinion, Off the Hook has one of the best happy hours around. I'm talking $1 oysters, $1 clams, $3 off apps/draft beer/cocktails, from 3pm - 7pm. They also got a meaaaan 3 course early bird prix fixe menu for only $29.95 from 3pm - 6pm. Sure you can always grab a table in their gorgeous dining room but I really enjoy chatting with their bartender at the bar and watching some sports highlights on the tele. Both were very fresh and tender. If I were to return I would try the cold lobster roll...perhaps that one wouldn't be so chewy or the whole fish again. Beautiful and cute little place. Husband and I stopped by on a Monday evening. The bar was empty and most people sat at the tables. We like sitting at the bar for happy hour. We had the oysters for oyster week. We weren't crazy about the local ones this year but can't beat $1/each to try. We also tried their raw clams. They were nicely cleaned but was a bit bland (none of that seafood sweetness one seek). What you really must try is their crabmeat guacamole! It's so fresh with homemade tortilla chips (I'm guessing since it taste way too good coming from a bag). I also had their island punch and it is one of the best fruity cocktail I had for awhile. Prices are on the higher end, but it's expected with the waterfront location. Food-wise, the 6-piece oysters were fresh, and the New England clam chowder really hit the spot, creamy, flavorful, and comforting. I came here for lunch today with my daughter. We each enjoyed a cocktail: my daughter had the tres amigos margarita and I ordered an espresso martini. The margarita was on point but the espresso martini tasted watered down. And it was a very light brown color. It was awful. Our waiter took it back and brought me a lechee martini, which was very good. I also want to mention their lemonade is refreshing and delicious. We shared a Caesar salad and a cheese burger. Grilled bread with olive oil served upon arrival. The oysters were Wellingtons from Massachusetts and I've never seen oysters shucked so perfectly that they were full of brine. Also super full sized! The ahi nacho app was quite exceptional. Full of flavor and, despite calling it a spicy remoulade, it was robust and not hot at all. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection and seasoned ideally. We went Saturday 3/29. Had reservations for 6pm. Got there early so we decided to sit at bar and get a drink. Those drinks took 25 minutes to come. Two bartenders working and neither one of them even acknowledged us until about 15 minutes in. The one bartender was making drinks I'm assuming for the tables but I've never saw a bartender move so slow making drinks. The other one was all over the place doing who knows what. We told the hostess that we had 6 pm reservations which she said she didn't have us down for. Thankfully I had the confirmation on my phone. When we finally sat down (tight squeeze between two tables) the waitress took are order. We ordered the baked clams and broiled oysters. The appetizers arrived just warm although we enjoyed both. Our main dishes came out hot. I had the salmon which I thought was very good and hubby had the red snapper. (He didn't particularly like the snapper because it was a whole snapper fried and had a lot of bones but the flavor was good) Overall I would say the food was very good. The service was just ok. The bartenders need more training!!! Should have a 3rd experienced bartender on with new bartenders. (I'm assuming they are new because they didn't really seem to know what they were doing) Should never have to wait 25 minutes for a drink!!
