My family has died at this establishment a number of times and I have to be very honest. We always have the best time no matter what is going on lol the ambience in itself is absolutely outstanding and whenever we can dine with live music on the water, how could you really have a bad experience? The staff has always been nothing short of polite and very attentive. I do wish there were a few more fish/shellfish, free entrées, and option options on the menu in general, as somebody who is severely allergic, but highly enjoys being on the water it would be nice to have some other options! People definitely come here for the view/to be on the water, but the food is pretty good albeit a little expensive. The service is friendly and attentive, we had a great waitress. They have a good amount of staff which is great since the restaurant is so large. They also have valet parking out front. We ordered the calamari and eggplant/zucchini chips as starters. Both were tasty and what you would expect when you envision each, but not memorable or unique. That being said we still enjoyed them and I think anyone who ordered them would like each dish. For my entree I got the crusted halibut which came with vegetables (asparagus, mushrooms, artichokes, tomatoes) and a lemon caper butter sauce. The fish was a good sized portion, nicely cooked and the flavors all went well together. I enjoyed the dish, but again, it is similar to dishes I've had elsewhere. The menu here is not very creative, but that isn't a bad thing as you know you can come here and have a nice meal. We enjoyed all of the dishes and left feeling full, but I would not say I would crave any of them or go out of my way to come back. Perfect summer outing to enjoy for a date or group get together. Started with the zucchini and eggplant fried chips . They were tasty, just a tad salty. The special dinner menu had Red Snapper , sweet plantain and coconut rice. I couldn't resist - it comes whole or filleted , I chose to have it off the bone and was not disappointed. Came to Salt to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Sunday afternoon. There's a nice size parking lot and there's indoor & outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside because the weather was nice and if it got a little cooler, the heat lamps would suffice. Everything was great from the service to the food. I ordered the white sangria and the surf & turf. I wasn't a big fan of the sangria, but it wasn't horrible. It was more wine than a mixture but eating the diced apples infused in the wine was a nice touch at the end. The surf and turf was amazing! I get my steaks well done (judge yourself!) and it was still juicy and tender and I always add sautéed onions to my steak. The lobster was cooked to perfection, and the mashed potatoes and green beans were on point. I enjoyed every bit of that meal. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and so was the manager on duty who brought us some rum punch shots on the house to help us celebrate.. So let me start by saying I have a review on here from a few years ago. I gave this place rave reviews because they deserved it. It was one of the reasons I returned yesterday with my daughter for her graduation lunch. The scenery is always so beautiful and relaxing. The host was accommodating because I had one extra to my party. My server was the sweetest ever. Here's where the problem came in, the food. We had the Thai Calamari...Good the Caesar Salad also good. Oysters Fresh and came with all the fixings. Time for the entrees. I had the filet mignon which came with mash and greens beans. I asked for the steak Medium well...it came WELL WELL green beans were over cooked and discolored. Mash potatoes lacked flavor and texture. They were clumpy. My mother had the Short Ribs and pasta. Beef no flavor and pasta not salted. I was so disappointed as I drove 40 minutes there and 40 minutes back for Bayside. Nice view and the food was pretty fresh very flavorful. i highly recommend it. our waiter provided wonderful service and helped us out selecting the dishes. we dined outside with a nice view of the water instead of indoors. the fish tacos and fries was top tier one of the best i had! the chipotle mayo on it was pretty spicy and had a delightful kick to it. the fries were made perfect i enjoyed it very much and would get it again. the seafood risotto was the star of the show and enough to feed 2-3 people! they didn't give us serving spoons and unfortunately there was a hair in the risotto which is why i took down a star. also when the clean bus boy came he just yanked the plate out from us and we had to stop him from leaving to give back the ketchup for the french fries. at any establishment its polite to ask the customer if they were done with their meal before proceeding to take the plates. the food is good, and could be better sanitary since there was hair in it but other then that, hats off to the amazing chefs. the waitress is phenomenal and on point but the bus boy needs training 7.5/10 B+ Absolutely coming back here for more! read more

My favorite is the salmon I'm not basic just classic okay.. you can never go wrong with the salmon.. the veggies make it tastier and the lobster roll warm, creamy and with lots of meat is a must try if you like lobster rolls. The mojitos are great just play it safe haha they will for sure do the job. The service and waitresses are great and good vibes by the water you will love it! My second time at Salt. Love the place, I wanted to sit outdoors but settled for indoor because the available tables didn't have umbrellas. The indoor area is surrounded by glass windows, you still get the outdoor vibe. Let's start with the atmosphere. My party of 8 was at this waterfront location on a beautiful Sunday afternoon celebrating my wife's 65th birthday. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! The steel drum was player was doing his thing and it was a wonderfully cool vibe. The service, although polite, seemed so laid back that I was frustrated by the attention that we were receiving. Everything seemed to take so long except for the food, once we got our order placed, came out very quickly - kudos to the kitchen. Whether it was getting drinks or water or even the bill, everything needed to be asked for more than once. The food was mediocre at best. Poke bowl, fish tacos and the short rib eggs Benedict were the highlights. The burgers and chicken/waffles left much to be desired. I'll leave the prices be. It certainly wasn't a bargain, but when is eating out these days? I do, however, look for value for the money that I spent. One can arrive at this restaurant by boat or car and choose between indoor or outdoor dining. Indoor can be very noisy if outdoor dining is not an option. We always visited this restaurant for lunch closer to noon. We will attempt to arrive early enough before the boats may show up since they do provide a wonderful oder. The restaurant personnel are friendly and accommodating. The price to dine reflects the cost of waterfront real estate. However, they have a delicious lobster roll worth the price. Beautiful restaurant! My friend and I sat outside, they have heaters to keep you warm if it's cold out, beautiful view, attentive and kind staff. The food was delicious and well prepared. We got bluepoint oysters, hot lobster rolls and the special dessert that night which was the pineapple upside down cake. The pineapple coconut frozen margarita was also delicious. They have valet parking, as well as street parking. I definitely suggest visiting this restaurant and making a reservation, as they are busy. read more

Very attentive- we came in for a friends birthday and we were getting shots brought to us frequently all night! The restaurant is nice but there are so many gnats that were biting us all night. I guess that's what you get for a restaurant on the water! The worst part about my visit was the food. I love to eat seafood and I've had some really good seafood before. This place was just god awful. We got an order of the lobster mussels and we all kept picking up mussels that... did not taste right. Have you ever smelt a sewer? Well that smell is what the mussels tasted like. Which is an indicator that we had a bad batch. Four of us ordered lobster rolls which were very stacked BUT... unfortunately no one finished because the lobster tasted really funky and fishy. And I eat lobster a lot when I get sushi and Salt's lobster was funky. It sucks because I had high expectations for this place. Really nice place and great service. We said no, she gave a little attitude then when I mentioned that the drink was weak, she gave more of an attitude explaining that it was 2 1/2 ounces that's how it is and the glass is just bigger than most glasses at bars. Then she proceeded to go behind the bar and gossip to her coworkers about how I'm inquiring of how weak my drink was and how small it was. She came back with a little half shot in a plastic shot glass to placate me, Too little too late. She then asked us two more times with a hurry up, attitude, to order our appetizers like we were inconveniencing her. How ridiculous you're rushing a Customer because we weren't ordering the second we sat down. No matter how busy or not busy a restaurant is the staff should never rush a customer. I ordered the sliders appetizer the other guest ordered a salad. Probably the most expensive and underwhelming salad and slider appetizer we have ever had. It wasn't that crowded yet as we went around 4 when it opened. Our waitress was so nice. I had the salmon and it was DElish! Hubbs had the lobster roll. (43 dollars) I had shrimp cocktail to start ( 26 dollars). Everything was great. It seems the prices have gone up so just a heads up. The drinks are pretty pricey too , more than a drink would be in Manhattan ( a 24 dollar martini for example) so just know that going in. Our first time there. And while not our last time, we likely won't be rushing back at breakneck speed. The place is great-looking, with great views on the water. Lovely setting. And the staff were all attentive and charming. BUT, the meals we ate, and the price they charged, did not quite synch up. My wife had some steak meal that she said was "good, not great". I had their fish tacos which were extremely average. I hate to bash, but I've had better fish tacos from a chain restaurant. We also had a calamari appetizer, which was the best plate we ordered. And we had one cocktail and one non-alc iced tea. With a normal 18-20% tip, the lunch came to around $125. At that price most are not coming here a few times a week. But if the food warranted that price, I'd be back. If the meal was in the $80 range, I'd be back. Or if they had a talented chef, I'd be back. But while the setting and view were worth that ticket price, the food was not. We will likely try it again before the summer ends. Maybe the food will improve. read more

Mac was super runny and had imitation crab and corn in it, Thai calamari was fine but not great either, burger was a frozen patty over cooked even though I ordered medium, and the lobster roll was terrible, no flavor and super dry and over cooked no butter in sight and came out an orange color which was super strange.
