I didn't know that Bluebird Kitchen offered brunch, so I was happy to come here when I was in the mood for some French Toast. The Challah French Toast was so delicious! The raspberry compote added a fantastic, bright fruitiness, and the whipped mascarpone was the perfect, light, and not-too-sweet finish. This was a dish that I'd happily order again. Hard to get waitress attention b/c she was seating people, taking orders , making drinks it was impossible for her to do all of those jobs at the same time and as a result, we receive something that wasn't Our, and she said to just enjoy it that it was her error. Biscuits are one of my biggest guilty pleasures so any brunch spot that has them on the menu will naturally get my attention. And Bluebird Kitchen's honey/cheddar biscuits do not disappoint, including soaking up the very tasty short rib eggs Benedict. What an awesome addition to the Long Island food scene. This spot is literally everything. Super simple, yet super cute, the dining area held a lively crowd when we came in on a Saturday night during restaurant week. The best part was that every individual at the table had the option of ordering from either menu rather than collectively ordering just off of one menu. So much of a relief. The food was DELICIOUS! You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that there was thought and intention to the items on the menu. The S'mac and cheese was yummy, and ironically not too cheesy, but I wasn't mad about it. My short rib gnocchi was nothing short of outrageous. And I don't usually get gnocchi. I ended up ordering from the restaurant week menu and ended with the chocolate chip cookies. What solidified the five star review was when I dropped my fork. Literally moments later our server came up with a new set of utensils because "he heard the drop". Talk about impressed. We've driven past here so many times on our way to other restaurants and I've been intrigued but when I looked at the menu and didn't see a single plant-based option, I figured it wasn't for me. My family has eaten here and enjoyed it so I figured I'd take a chance and see what they could veganize on the menu. Unfortunately there isn't much, literally two things, a salad where they'd leave off the cheese and a risotto where they'd leave off the shrimp. So it's disappointing as far as food goes, if you're vegan. What made my experience here way better than expected was our fantastic and attentive waitress, Juliet. Sometimes when I go to similar restaurants where they don't consider dietary restrictions, I feel unsure about communication with the kitchen, but I felt she went above and beyond with this. She also was super on top of anything and everything we needed at the table. Five stars for service! The risotto I ordered was fine. Despite leaving off shrimp, it's the same price and that's annoying. 28 dollars for a basic risotto won't have me wanting to return, unfortunately. With so many restaurants offering up plant-based options that are creative and amazing on Long Island (and I do mean in non vegan restaurants), I'd opt to go elsewhere. read more

Sadly my first (updated) review for 2026 won't be a positive one. I really wanted to enjoy my New Years Eve dinner at Bluebird Kitchen, but the food and service were severely lacking. We ordered from the pricey "Special Menu." I don't mind paying up for good food (especially on a holiday), but this was a genuine ripoff. The $25 tuna tartare/Avocado appetizer was wet, mushy and tuna tasted old. I ordered the "Slow Roasted Prime Rib", nothing "prime" about the hard, gristly, burnt slab of beef I received. Truffle mashed potatoes, served cold, had large hard pieces of uncooked potatoes; inedible. Caesar salad ($16) was a small portion and tasteless. Our distracted server didn't listen to my order (necessitating a visit by the manager to avoid a $35 overcharge for something I didn't order), and we were rushed out in less than an hour. I believe in second/third chances, but any establishment capable of handing out such a poor experience will not see me again. read more

I came here on a Saturday at 1pm. We called ahead to make a reservation for a party of 8. (They ask you to call to reserve for bigger parties) The inside is very beautiful and they were definitely busy for weekend brunch so highly recommend getting a reservation. We were seated right away at 1, but we did not have a waitress come over to us until we flagged one down a half hour later. At that point, we ended up putting our drinks and food in at the same time. I had an espresso martini which was okay. I believe it is on tap, but I think I prefer them to be created individually each time. I also ordered the chicken and waffles. It was three chicken tenders between four waffles. The lemon herb butter was so AMAZING, but the hot honey was not hot/spicy. The chicken was tender/not dry and the lemon butter tied it all together so nicely. Our waitress never came in to check in on us at all, we even had to hunt her down to order a second round of drinks. She ended up forgetting one of the drinks and after sitting for some time, she just dropped off the check, not asking if we wanted anything else. She was initially friendly but by the end, was extremely short and had an attitude. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or what the issue was, but the service was not up to par. Why does no one mention this used to be Red Robin? I think thats hilarious... this restaurant is a far cry from that vibe. A nice light and airy feeling restaurant with a Hamptons feel. Plenty of room for private parties or large groups. Fantastic cocktails and very good brunch. Service is attentive. Typically the service seems better during dinner, I feel like its drastically less staffed and customer occupied for brunch. My only critique is the right side booths can use a nice wipe down. Finally got around to trying this spot although passing it multiple times over the years. We dined here for an early Mother's Day Brunch the day before the holiday. I booked our family's reservation through Open Table and they had a spot to fit the eight of us. The atmosphere was open airy and welcoming. The brunch menu has a good variety of options between sweet and savory items. It has something for everyone. Half our table went for the simple breakfast. My sister in law got waffles and my brother in law and I got the creme brulee pancakes. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. My father in law who is usually a hard sell ate everything on the plate. My mother in law was raving how much she loved her scrambled eggs and the house made sourdough bread that came with the meal. My husband also loved the bread and the bacon he ordered. The creme brûlée pancakes were nice and big in size. It was plenty to share with my 19 month old. The pancakes were fluffy and buttery. The custard bruleed topping was sweet enough that the syrup wasn't needed with the pancakes. I loved that it was served with fresh strawberries and blueberries. I ended up taking the rest to go and the pancakes were great the next day. We got good food and great service. We would consider coming back in the future. One note is that they do have a 3% credit card fee, so if you want to avoid that then pay cash. read more

I came here for a close friend's 40th birthday brunch this past Sunday. We were placed in a semi-private room with a long table. The space was well-lit and pleasantly painted with modern colors and cute cartoons of blue birds. The restaurant felt fresh, modern and lively but oddly relaxing at the same time. The bathroom was also very cute with bluebird cartoons. The service was excellent - all cute young attractive men (it was hard to notice and also wondering if that was on purpose) who were attentive, accommodating, friendly but also efficient. Their brunch drinks such as Bellinis, were a very generous pour. Food was very good. I enjoyed the avocado dip with zucchini fries although pretty salty, mini hot dogs were well seasoned and didn't fall apart! Most of all- I highly enjoyed their pastry basket, especially the honey butter biscuits - savory, buttery and slightly addicting. While the ambiance was relaxed and the music in the background set a decent tone, it's hard to say you'll find good value in the meal. My family of five arrived right when the restaurant opened, and the place was completely empty. When we asked for a table for five, the hostess seemed completely confused and stared at the computer for about ten minutes before asking someone else for help. After waiting several more minutes with no explanation, my husband finally asked what the problem was. At that point, the waiter and hostess told us they couldn't accommodate us--even though the restaurant was still empty (I mean not a single customer in there at this point). They said the best they could do was give us a table for an hour and five minutes. This also isn't our first bad experience here, which made the situation worse. I was super excited to come here for their doggy brunch but unfortunately had a terrible experience. Food was terrible. Chicken sandwich had no flavor and the bun was dripping with oil. Fries were soggy. Lamb burger was ok but nothing amazing. Lobster Mac also was mediocre. There were three options for the dogs - lamb, chicken or beef. This was likely meat that was going bad and they wanted to get rid of because my dog got extremely sick the next day (see photo). At no point during our meal did our waitress come over to ask how our food was or if we needed water or more drinks. We constantly had to flag her down to request more water with ice. It was SO hot and there really wasn't much of a crowd so I was unsure why she was so inattentive. The sun was so strong so we asked the waiter if we could move an umbrella. He begrudgingly moved it about 2 feet and did not understand that the umbrella needed to be behind the table to block the sun. at the end of our meal another waiter came over and awkwardly asked if we wanted the check. They usually close at 2:30 but our reservation was for 2:30 and there were other people still dining outside so it was just uncomfortable because staff clearly did not want to be there. We ordered the pigs in a blanket, but they gave us a basket of pastries instead - I get that mistakes happen, but they didn't even apologize about the mix up. Dined in restaurant with my wife and 2.5 yr old twin toddlers so you know we didn't have a lot of time. Went early enough so there was literally no wait and we were seated promptly. Boys split an order of their kids chicken cutlet and fries (they're picky and don't eat a lot) and wife and I ordered drinks. Boys food came out quickly so they were occupied while we sipped on our cocktails. For our entree's, we ordered Chicken Milanese and the Brick Chicken (our go tos) and everything was fantastic. Having passed by Bluebird on several occasions and hearing positive feedback I was intrigued by the atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant, and it delivered in providing a vibrant interior and an even more enjoyable outdoor setup. The food also delivered as the pigs in the blanket were a variation of your standard while the chicken Milanese was nearly perfect. As chicken Milanese is one of my favorite dishes, the chicken was thin and cooked perfect while the arugula salad provided the balance of the taste with ample amount of shaved Parmesan. The smash Mac and cheese was amazing! Not sure why it's called smashed but it's super cheesy with a hint of lemon zest which blew us all away. We weren't sure it would go with cheese but it was so tasty! The zucchini and eggplant fries were lightly battered with avocado hummus was delish. The guys had the brick chicken which they enjoyed. It's a month later and im still thinking of the dinner I had! We were seated immediately, and the ambience was really cool and chic. Our waitress was very friendly and informative also gave great suggestions on things to try. I really appreciate that she didn't rush when looking at the menu and she understood we wanted to take our time choosing since it was our first time visiting. We chose a Caesar salad for our appetizer which was large enough to feed 3,the croutons were so tasty! Our dinner entrées were delicious and such a good presentation (as pictured).We usually don't do dessert, but the banana split sundae sounded so good. We couldn't pass up the chance! Ive been here two times in one week because it was THAT amazing. The restaurant itself is so open, airy, and bright. It has a modern minimalist touch to it which I love. I had the same thing both times. Lamb burger with no bun with a side of Caesar salad. The burger was juicy and the Caesar salad dressing was to die for. It was so good that I even asked what brand dressing they use. I was told it was home made! For apps we had the eggplant and zucchini fritters. They came with a yummy dipping sauce.
