We came here for a birthday party but had meaning to try it out for a while because we pass it every time we're in Merrick/Bellmore. Biscuits are one of my biggest guilty pleasures so any brunch spot that has them on the menu will naturally get my attention. And Bluebird Kitchen's honey/cheddar biscuits do not disappoint, including soaking up the very tasty short rib eggs Benedict. The fried zucchini was nice and crispy, and the salad was big enough to be an entree by itself. The service and ambience are nice too- would happily come back.

Sadly my first (updated) review for 2026 won't be a positive one. I really wanted to enjoy my New Years Eve dinner at Bluebird Kitchen, but the food and service were severely lacking. We ordered from the pricey "Special Menu." I don't mind paying up for good food (especially on a holiday), but this was a genuine ripoff. The $25 tuna tartare/Avocado appetizer was wet, mushy and tuna tasted old. I ordered the "Slow Roasted Prime Rib", nothing "prime" about the hard, gristly, burnt slab of beef I received. Truffle mashed potatoes, served cold, had large hard pieces of uncooked potatoes; inedible. Caesar salad ($16) was a small portion and tasteless. Our distracted server didn't listen to my order (necessitating a visit by the manager to avoid a $35 overcharge for something I didn't order), and we were rushed out in less than an hour. I believe in second/third chances, but any establishment capable of handing out such a poor experience will not see me again.

What an awesome addition to the Long Island food scene. This spot is literally everything. Super simple, yet super cute, the dining area held a lively crowd when we came in on a Saturday night during restaurant week. The best part was that every individual at the table had the option of ordering from either menu rather than collectively ordering just off of one menu. So much of a relief. The food was DELICIOUS! You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that there was thought and intention to the items on the menu. The S'mac and cheese was yummy, and ironically not too cheesy, but I wasn't mad about it. My short rib gnocchi was nothing short of outrageous. And I don't usually get gnocchi. I ended up ordering from the restaurant week menu and ended with the chocolate chip cookies. What solidified the five star review was when I dropped my fork. Literally moments later our server came up with a new set of utensils because "he heard the drop". Talk about impressed. Not only did he do that he was just an attentive and kind server. Coming back here and bringing people for sure!

Had a great, first time experience. The ambiance is bright and clean. Even the color of the walls was soothing. We ordered: - Steak & Eggs: 2 eggs any style, grilled denver steak, grilled house bread, everything seasoned home fries - Roasted Turkey Sandwich: slow roasted herb turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, bacon, spicy mayo and house chips The server was also the hostess. Food came out quickly. It was a quiet Tuesday. Check out was easy using a QR code on the receipt.

I came here on a Saturday at 1pm. We called ahead to make a reservation for a party of 8. (They ask you to call to reserve for bigger parties) The inside is very beautiful and they were definitely busy for weekend brunch so highly recommend getting a reservation. We were seated right away at 1, but we did not have a waitress come over to us until we flagged one down a half hour later. At that point, we ended up putting our drinks and food in at the same time. I had an espresso martini which was okay. I believe it is on tap, but I think I prefer them to be created individually each time. I also ordered the chicken and waffles. It was three chicken tenders between four waffles. The lemon herb butter was so AMAZING, but the hot honey was not hot/spicy. The chicken was tender/not dry and the lemon butter tied it all together so nicely. Our waitress never came in to check in on us at all, we even had to hunt her down to order a second round of drinks. She ended up forgetting one of the drinks and after sitting for some time, she just dropped off the check, not asking if we wanted anything else. She was initially friendly but by the end, was extremely short and had an attitude. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or what the issue was, but the service was not up to par. It was very disappointing because the food was good. Not sure if it makes it worth it to come back.

Finally got around to trying this spot although passing it multiple times over the years. We dined here for an early Mother's Day Brunch the day before the holiday. I booked our family's reservation through Open Table and they had a spot to fit the eight of us. The atmosphere was open airy and welcoming. The brunch menu has a good variety of options between sweet and savory items. It has something for everyone. Half our table went for the simple breakfast. My sister in law got waffles and my brother in law and I got the creme brulee pancakes. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. My father in law who is usually a hard sell ate everything on the plate. My mother in law was raving how much she loved her scrambled eggs and the house made sourdough bread that came with the meal. My husband also loved the bread and the bacon he ordered. The creme brûlée pancakes were nice and big in size. It was plenty to share with my 19 month old. The pancakes were fluffy and buttery. The custard bruleed topping was sweet enough that the syrup wasn't needed with the pancakes. I loved that it was served with fresh strawberries and blueberries. I ended up taking the rest to go and the pancakes were great the next day. We got good food and great service. We would consider coming back in the future. One note is that they do have a 3% credit card fee, so if you want to avoid that then pay cash.

This place is gorgeous aesthetically first of all. Everything we ordered was fantastic. From the mocktail to the honey biscuits to the spinach and butternut squash salad. Absolutely fresh and so scrumptious. I'm still thinking about it weeks later!

The menu from Bluebird Kitchen includes sections for starters, flatbreads, sandwiches, and main courses, with various options and prices.

Went for lunch with my family a few weekends ago. The restaurant is very large and has a lot of great natural lighting. It kind of reminds me of an upscale diner. The menu is huge and they have a lot to offer for any and every diner. Food was fine, nothing really blew us away but tasted fine. I would return for a low key lunch or a quick easy dinner. I will say service was kind of slow considering it was a pretty quiet day.

I came here for a close friend's 40th birthday brunch this past Sunday. We were placed in a semi-private room with a long table. The space was well-lit and pleasantly painted with modern colors and cute cartoons of blue birds. The restaurant felt fresh, modern and lively but oddly relaxing at the same time. The bathroom was also very cute with bluebird cartoons. The service was excellent - all cute young attractive men (it was hard to notice and also wondering if that was on purpose) who were attentive, accommodating, friendly but also efficient. Their brunch drinks such as Bellinis, were a very generous pour. Food was very good. I enjoyed the avocado dip with zucchini fries although pretty salty, mini hot dogs were well seasoned and didn't fall apart! Most of all- I highly enjoyed their pastry basket, especially the honey butter biscuits - savory, buttery and slightly addicting. I was even more excited to see those same honey butter biscuits as part of my breakfast eggs.

The atmosphere here was laid-back and easygoing, with a bit of a Hampton vibe--but be ready for Merrick prices. While the ambiance was relaxed and the music in the background set a decent tone, it's hard to say you'll find good value in the meal. The service, though, was excellent--attentive and friendly, which is always a plus. As for the food, it was just okay. This is my opinion since others like the texture. The waffle portion was on the smaller side and softer than I'd like. The egg sandwich was "alright," but it could've done with a bit more time on the grill. The honey biscuit, which I was most excited about, unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. No one at our table finished their meal, but we took the leftovers home just in case. If you're after those laid-back Hampton vibes without quite the matching experience this spot might still be worth a try. Let's see in the future how lunch items taste.

This is my first time in this location, I was working in the neighborhood and decided to stop by and have lunch today. Had a really amazing menu a lot of variety. I would almost say it was kinda difficult for me to choose. But I went with the chicken sandwich, coleslaw hot honey, and french fries. It was delicious. I may go back for brunch with my husband on Sunday just to try out the brunch menu. The atmosphere was great the ambience, bright and cheerful. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate the service a 5. I always say that everybody has to try something at least once, but I'm willing to go back and check it out over the weekend and see how the brunch me

The food was amazing and delicious. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. Chopped. DOS and the chef knew exactly what was requested. I went during lunch so the Ambiance was perfect for the occasion.

I want to like the place but things like this drive me nuts. $18 for a waffle for a child with choc chips.

This place is described as tapas-style, so some dishes are on the smaller size, but the more expensive dishes are full portion: the burger, chicken, pasta w/crab, etc. Seems they also change their menu very regularly, as I saw some fantastic looking things in the pictures here, none of which were on the menu. On the more expensive side price wise, and there is a full bar and bourbon selection to punch it higher. Tried a few things, some I'd skip if I came back, but also a few things I'd like to try that I didn't get to. Skippables include the Gouda Gruyères: onion soubise and the cacio e pepe, both underwhelming and more expensive than it should have been. I also tried the gem salad, chicken wings, the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe, and the flan for dessert. Flavors were good, the wings were very heavy on the salt but had good flavor, and everything else was covered in tons of cheese, from the salad to the pasta, it was a lot. Service was quick, waitress friendly. People in the area seem to absolutely love this place and overhearing people talk, there's nothing bad on the menu, and the corn agnolotti was delicious (I was sad to have changed my order, this is what I was originally going to get). Interested in seeing a fall menu for this place!

It's not bad but it's not anything to write home about for the prices. I think the tzatziki sauce for the falafel burger could definitely have some more flavor and that would make the overall taste of it better. Our waitress was a young girl. She was nice, but not very attentive. Overall, I think a lot of people come here more for the atmosphere. If you don't live on the water or boat a lot, it's a nice place to come and enjoy a meal or drink because you can sit outside, enjoy the water view, and it has an area for kids to play, but I'm not sure that it would be on my top list of places to come back to and eat.

I knew it had to be good and I was right. Cute interior, casual, pretty small so I am sure they have a high volume operation going on. It was a cold day, so no outside seating, obviously, but I'd love to come back and sit outside on a nice day. There's something about warm weather, tacos and cold margs that's super appealing, isn't there? I'd heard their vegan tacos were excellent and I was happy to see a wide selection of them. I tried the vegan chorizo as well as the Impossi-taco. Listen, there's no contest here. If looking for a meaty type of taco, go with the vegan chorizo (I believe it's housemade). I'm a spice-loving gal and it didn't seem spicy at all to me but I do realize there are people out there that might think it's spicy so that's a caveat. It's top tier, however, and the impossible was just something I can make at home (with a lot more spice-- it's lacking that here). I also ordered the black beans and rice, but I wouldn't order it again, as it was a small ramekin and I was too full to eat it anyway. Next time, guac, I'm coming for you. The sampling on my impossi-taco had me full of regret that I didn't get more of it! If you like sweet sangria, they've got you here. I didn't love it, way too sweet for me. I'll definitely try their other cocktails next time. Now, for the service. Gina is a rockstar! I see her name mentioned in reviews and you know when you see a name in reviews, that person is exceptional. Loved her. Actually everyone in here is so nice. It's refreshing.
