I wanted to shout out this place Uncle Franks in Wantagh. Checked it out last night after a long time oj my todo list. If i lived closer i woudl be there all the time, they have a lot of my favorite things. The craft cocktails were really good, creative and tasty. The wine selection offered food options. The house salad was had a delicious dressing and the pizzas were terrific, we had meatball and supresstta (meatball was better). The home made vanilla gelato may be the best i ever had. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I would def return here, if you around the area check them out. They also offer a good happy hour and it has a pretty bar area. They knew it was my wife's bday and since she didn't order dessert they bought he a glass of wine after dinner.

Well the meatballs were devoured before I could take the picture. The artichokes were delicate and perfect. The broccolini has a southwest flavor to the sauce which was also a bit spicy. The broccolini was amazingly tender. Kylie our server was so knowledgeable about all the dishes. So polite and personable. A true keeper! The pasta carbonara was done perfectly. The cauliflower pasta was divine The pizzas were cheesy and flavorful We are already planning our next visit!

Great thin crust personal pizza choices. Pasta was good too. Loved the house salad. Definitely want to come back, but need to make reservations if you want to sit inside. There is a reason they are packed. Good food and good service.

Came here on a Friday night and sat at the bar. I was in the mood for something a little different, so I ordered the Cacio e Pepe pie. I didn't know what to expect. Would there be spaghetti on the pie? How can Cacio e Pepe possibly work on pizza? Well, I was so glad I decided to try it. The pizza was awesome and tasted just like the Cacio e Pepe sauce you would get in pasta (and there was no spaghetti on the pie). It actually worked really well and I'll love to go back and try the same dish again.

Another hit by the owners of Blackbird and Rustic Root. The bar size and set up is the same as Corey's (the bar that was previously at that location) with a more romantic feel. The drinks are on point, delish and presented well. The pizza was fantastic and separated on the menu by red sauce pizza and white pizza. We tried one of each: had the cacio de Pepe and Uncle Frank pies (Uncle Frank is the traditional cheese pie). Decent size pies. We went hungry and ate half of each. A nice meet for a drink or date night place. I wouldn't bring my toddler but I did see high chairs

The small glasses. Beware, lemonade at $5 does not include refills. Fix this Uncle Franks!!!

Here in lies the glaring problem... I was cheated of $500 by the owner Michael. The money agreed on for the party was counted twice by each mother. I gave my share to Michael and he counted it. Our business was finished. Or so I thought... A few minutes later Micheal comes out to the parking lot as we were about to leave and he tells me I shorted him $500!!! How could that be? The money was counted out many times by both of us!!! There was no written contract that showed my deposit; only a copy of the party plans. My plan was circled for the price per person. My deposit was not deducted from the total amount owed. If you read comments from the past about this owner; it's not the first time he has used this tactic. I'm praying for Michael!

Alibi is currently running a Harry Potter pop up, and if you know anything about me, you will know I am a HUGE fan. The Alibi was decorated beautifully and there were two really cute Photo Ops by "Platform 9 3/4" and the Wand Shop. Come here for the drinks! The Hufflepuff was bourbon forward and reminded me of an Old Fashioned which further confirmed that is truly my house. It also came with an edible golden snitch. The server pointed it out before I gave them what I thought to be decor. I popped the chocolate golden snitch in my mouth after being directed to take the wrapping off first. We then did butterbeer shots and I can't even begin to tell you how delish they were...dangerously delicious. Food was had and it wasn't anything to write about but I'll try. Queso dip is made in house, which I respect. Loaded potato wontons were a great idea and were probably the best things on the table. You can't go wrong with pretzel nuggets. Chocolate cake is never a bad idea. I ended my visit with a chocolate frog drink. Very similar to an espresso martini. You know how hot they are right now. It came with a an actual chocolate frog which was nice. Finally one of the staff members came over to help us play Bertie Botts and we all picked a jellybean. I got lemon. Some of us got soap and warwax. So fun! It was so good, we are going to try to snag another rez for trivia. Reservations are for 90 minute seatings. You pay $15 for a ticket but you get a souvenir cup with your ticket. Not mad about this because the cup is actually decent and will be used. Their next pop up will be "Slime Time". Slime is not my thing but maybe you'll see me at the other pop ups.

They were also kind about our last minute reservation change due to babysitting issues. They start you with free pickles but give bread too if you ask also for free. I got the petite marinated skirt steak which was about 7 oz and comes with peppers. Very good! Juicy and flavorful. My husband got the NY sirloin which was smoky and cooked a perfect medium rare. The steaks come with a choice of potato and we both got the mashed potatoes. They were good but not great. Not as garlicky or as flavorful as I was hoping. The steaks were amazing though so would just try a different potato next time. Would definitely come back! Recommend!

So far, so good. Then we were seated in the back corner by the kitchen. What followed was a parade of waitstaff bumping into me as they came and went, and an uncomfortable chair that made the meal harder to enjoy than it should have been. Location matters, and this one was a miss. The menu is focused -- if you're a steak purist, you'll appreciate the no-nonsense approach. If you're not, you may find yourself with limited options. The French onion soup to start was disappointing: overly salty and not the warm, rich opener a steakhouse should nail. Our table had mixed results with the mains too -- the ribs came out dry, and the skirt steak was so heavily marinated that the meat itself got lost entirely. That said, my ribeye was the bright spot of the evening -- cooked exactly as requested with a beautiful crust. When they get it right, they really get it right. Our server was attentive and genuinely great throughout, which kept the experience from falling further. A place with this much word of mouth should be more consistent. I wanted to love it. Maybe I just need a better table.

This place is described as tapas-style, so some dishes are on the smaller size, but the more expensive dishes are full portion: the burger, chicken, pasta w/crab, etc. Seems they also change their menu very regularly, as I saw some fantastic looking things in the pictures here, none of which were on the menu. On the more expensive side price wise, and there is a full bar and bourbon selection to punch it higher. Tried a few things, some I'd skip if I came back, but also a few things I'd like to try that I didn't get to. Skippables include the Gouda Gruyères: onion soubise and the cacio e pepe, both underwhelming and more expensive than it should have been. I also tried the gem salad, chicken wings, the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe, and the flan for dessert. Flavors were good, the wings were very heavy on the salt but had good flavor, and everything else was covered in tons of cheese, from the salad to the pasta, it was a lot. Service was quick, waitress friendly. People in the area seem to absolutely love this place and overhearing people talk, there's nothing bad on the menu, and the corn agnolotti was delicious (I was sad to have changed my order, this is what I was originally going to get). Interested in seeing a fall menu for this place!
