First time dining at Trento Italian Steakhouse in East Farmingdale, and it was a great experience. The seating was excellent, our family of four loved the booth area. The best time to dine is around 5pm, otherwise, it fills up quickly and the wait can be a bit longer. The restaurant is romantic, clean, and spacious. Our server, Rich, was wonderful. We started with the octopus appetizer and the giant meatball! Both were delicious. We also ordered a bottle of wine (why not? The kids were keeping us on our toes). For our main dishes, I had the wild swordfish, my husband ordered the steak with mashed potatoes, and both our children got the mac and cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Overall, a great dining experience, and we'll definitely be back.

Visited on a Saturday night with another couple. Came in with a reservation, modern look inside, this may sound odd, but it seemed like a lot of light for the ambience. We skipped the apps and went straight to the mains. Starting with the highs - The porterhouse was bathed in butter and melt in your mouth. The rigatoni made us wonder if this is what all pasta is meant to taste like. Just delicious. And the drinks were strong and delicious. Lows - Skip the creamed spinach, the Mac and cheese was just ok too. I wasn't thrilled with the lamb chops, either cuts felt oddly thin and underseasoned.

Most of us enjoyed their price fixe dinner special - it was a good deal. The good: ambience, strong/delicious drinks, attentive service and rigatoni was to die for. The bad: chicken franchise was tasty but much too salty, pistachio ice cream quality was just ok. Recommended.

Insanely good!!!!! My family and I dined here last night using a gift card we received as a gift. My husband drives by this place a lot and always wanted to try it. I'm so glad we went! The bread that was brought out was warm and yummy! Loved the olive oil they served with it. For our appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari. The squid was huge and more than enough. A little crushed red pepper but not too much. Although not on the menu, I ordered penne Ala vodka. My husband ordered the rigatoni dish and my daughter ate rigatoni with pomodoro. Oh my goodness, every single meal was outstanding. My sauce was so flavorful and the rigatoni was huge! It was so filling for a dish I thought I'd need more of. My daughter's dish was cooked perfectly and my husband loved his. I had a scoop of the chocolate gelato which was so nice and creamy. Only improvement could have been our waiter. He wasn't attentive and took on way too many tables. We had to flag staff down for some things. We will absolutely be back!

We finally visited Trento on Valentine's Day. We had seen it on Instagram and had it been wanting to go for quite some time. We ordered the dishes that we had seen on Instagram, including the truffle pasta, the filet mignon, the brussels sprouts, and the chocolate cake. The food and wine were incredible. The servers were pretty amazing too. The ambience was perfect for a romantic date. This place is however, pretty pricey, so save it for a special occasion. We will be back.

Still love this place, especially the lunch special. You get so much food. They make, hands down, the best a la vodka sauce on LI.

Great happy hour spot with solid deals. Very nice inside, staff at the bar was super helpful. All of the happy hour food items we tried were delicious!

Salmon, broccoli, acorn squash and a nice piece of delicious bread.

My Goddaughter treated me and my husband to this restaurant as a 50th wedding anniversary gift. This restaurant is awesome!!! Although it's located on a busy thoroughfare, once inside you are transported to a cozy environment. Our server, Leo and his team were attentive anticipating when they should serve the next course. They have a "Prezzo Fisso Domenica" for $59.95 ( four course meal which includes dessert- Sunday only). And the food- absolutely delicious and lots of it. I am including a picture of my take home. My husband and I may make this a monthly meal for us.

From start to finish this place was phenomenal. We were treated by who I believe was the manager, who gave us a great place to sit where the kids can run around as well without bothering other customers so it was a little corner for us which was really nice. Our waiter Manny, was also incredibly wonderful. The food was delicious and the portions were great as we had plenty to bring home. The waiter was very attentive to our needs and checked in on us periodically. One thing we really liked was the fact that, we had all ordered coffees except for my mom. When he came back, she changed her mind and wanted a coffee and he made sure to serve her first before he served anybody else which we thought was amazing. This is something cultural and is not taught so this was great. He was very attentive to my three-year-old as well which was also great. I am giving this place five stars because I did notice that the facility did not have a diaper change station. However to accommodate for that, the waiter did clear a back table and sanitize that down so that we can change our son's diaper and gave us privacy to do so. And when we were leaving the facility they noticed that one of us had left our bags behind and brought it to our car which was also great. We will be going back here again.

Visited for a work dinner the food was delicious. I ordered a crab cake, the meatball which was cooked to perfection the ricotta on top is a perfect addition and the salmon for entree. Service was a little slow dinner took a while to come out. Ambiance is nice lots of seats at the bar. I would try it out again for the food. Hopefully the service is better.

Happy 65th birthday

Everything was perfect food service ambiance. Top notch as always. Celebrating my 65th Medicare birthday. Baked clams are my favorite on the island. Crab cakes meaty with full on crab. The pasta delicious

Troffolini

So good! We had an early reservation and we're seated immediately. Our server was very knowledgeable about the many specials available. He recommended the most popular dishes (the troffolini) and answered all our questions. Food came out quickly and it was plentiful. They do have a great happy hour as well (the bar was packed) but you must sit in the bar area for the specials. The lunch menu is much, much larger than the dinner menu and also cheaper. Dinner prices are a little high for the steaks but I still recommend trying this place!

Ask the Community - Trento

When do they have live music?

Do they have a private party room?

Yes they do... they facilitate many events that range from christenings to wakes to bridal luncheons and all things in-between.

Is this a loud place to have dinner on Saturday nite ?? Yes or no?

I believe the restaurant is at average noise when crowded.

The place has a good amount of seating area including high tops, low booths, bar table, and a private room. There is also two unisex restrooms. I came with my boyfriend before an event at Farmingdale State College and we were on a time crunch. I made a reservation on OpenTable but it was not busy at all. We got greeted and seated immediately upon walking in. Then, a server came with ice water for the both of us before our actual waiter came to introduce herself and ask if we were ready to order. Shortly after ordering, the waitress brought us a plate of complimentary bread that comes with garlic on top and olive oil dip on bottom. We got the fried calamari which was perfectly battered (not too little nor too thick) and fried perfectly (not too burnt nor too pale). The taste was great and went well with the marinara sauce. The Clams Oreganata were delicious too - very meaty and flavorful with a nice sauce and lemon to squeeze on top. The Clams Vespa is very unique and creamy. It reminds me of a white Alfredo sauce with baked clams. They had a huge variety of drinks and it was hard for me to choose, but the lady recommended me the Sicilian Kiss which is a strawberry flavored cocktail. It is supposed to be on the sweeter side but the alcohol was strong too. As for our main entree, we got the Papperdelle Bolognese which was a veal, pork, beef ragu on ribbon pasta. Very well cooked and the taste and texture went perfectly together. We were so full, but never skip on dessert! I'm personally not a fan of cheesecake, but they have creme brulee cheesecake and rainbow cookie cheesecake which I would have loved to try if it wasn't for the cheesecake. But I was happy to find out I could order the rainbow cookie gelato that usually comes with the cheesecake. That was yummy! The texture reminded me of the cake mix Ice-Cream from Carvel and the flavor is not too strong. Overall, great vibes and service. Will definitely be back to the the pizza and other pastas.

Food was delicious and the drinks were fabulous. Thanksgiving Eve met up with my date at Nunzi's It was giving "Hot Stuff" -- literally. I walk in with my date, and before my coat even unbuttons, Donna Summer herself is serenading me like I'm about to strut down a disco runway. Perfect timing. We were the first ones in the restaurant, which honestly made me feel like they opened the whole establishment just for my convenience. The host said, "Pick any table." Baby, don't threaten me with a good time. I saw that corner booth--cute, cozy, and prime real estate for flirting like I'm auditioning for a romantic comedy--and I claimed it like the last good parking spot at Target. The vibe? Oh, this restaurant is so my ministry. Trendy, modern, dimly lit like they're doing me a personal favor. If you're a social media fanatic like me. The entire décor is basically screaming, "Make a reel, post a story, take a selfie sis." The soundtrack? Disco, 70s and 80s R&B, a sprinkle of house. My favorite genres. The stuff that makes you want to shimmy your shoulders while pretending you're not checking out your date's jawline. The drinks? Oh honey... I ordered a blueberry lavender margarita because lavender is my personality at this point. My date got a banana Jameson old fashioned. I asked for a sip, took a sip, then instantly contemplated snatching his whole glass and telling him to order something else. It was that good. I asked the waiter about the pineapple infused vodka. "Can you taste the alcohol?" He said, "No, and that's the problem." I said, "Say less." Sold. LMAO. Had it in a martini fashion. Now for the food. We started with the Oh My Garlic Bread. Except... Oh My, what happened? The cheese was barely melted and the bread wasn't toasted enough. I wanted feral, unhinged, cheese-pull, toasted bread madness. I got "this could've been great but someone clocked out early." Sadness. It did come with a side of their delicious sauce and spicy vodka sauce. But THEN... that fried burrata came out like Beyoncé at the Superbowl. Melty, gooey, fried perfection. Cheese is my favorite food group and that burrata had me emotionally compromised. We also got Grandma's Meatballs. Delicious and they held their own and in chunky tomato sauce, with a dollop of ricotta? Mama mia, yes. For pasta, the server suggested the spicy rigatoni or the linguine bolognese. We went bolognese, and baby... that plate was giving comfort, warmth, cozy blanket energy. Delicious. Finished the night with the chocolate chip cookie sundae. Great ending, but listen--at an Italian restaurant, my middle-aged spirit WANTED tiramisu or a cannoli. I'm traditional like that. Overall? Five glittery stars. I will absolutely be back--probably dragging my work bestie for a happy hour where we judge men and eat fried cheese.
