Great experience for my Moms 80th surprise bday party. We were looking for a place that was accommodating, nice looking, had good food, parking and wouldn't break the bank. Matteo's checked all the boxes. And the only complaint is, it was too easy. Dennis was so easy to deal with and laid back that it appeared as if he didn't care. On the contrary, I guess he's done so many of these that none of our requests were out of the ordinary and he was very accommodating. We only saw pics of the place online so we were gambling and basing our choice on reviews. Well they were right. The party was a lunch that was to start at 1:00. We were coming from the Jersey shore to set up. Surprisingly there was no traffic and we got there an hour earlier than expected (11:30). We were worried about not gaining access to the room to set up. NOPE, no issues. I met Dennis in person, very nice guy. I apologized for arriving early, he said "no problem" and we were given access to the room that was already set up. We laid out the seating arrangements, some flowers, balloons et. Just before 1:00 our guests began to arrive. My Mom arrived 1:20 and was very surprised. The service was excellent (I forget our nice, pretty servers name who was our point person), the food was great and the place looked excellent. We got so many compliments on our restaurant selection and surprisingly, no complaints. Great experience overall.

The restaurant has almost a lodge or chalet vibe. Ample outdoor seating as well, weather permitting. We enjoyed the price fixed dinner menu. For $49.95 you get 3 courses and a glass of wine or beer. There were many choices for appetizer and entrées. I would have liked to see something chocolate added to the dessert menu (just saying). I had the salmon. It was prepared well and was a nice sized portion. For dessert I had the biscotti and cannoli cream. The cream was delicious. The biscotti was very hard. The chicken dishes was ok. Our server (maybe Steven?- I'm so sorry I can't remember his name for sure because he is worthy of a shout out) was superb. He was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

Delicious dining experience this past weekend at Matteo's. We came for a large birthday dinner and our waiter was excellent in providing quick service. My table ordered some appetizers including white cheese pizza and fried calamari. Both were excellent . I ordered penne a la vodka as my entree. It was good but it was a little too Al dente for me. My chocolate fudge cake for dessert was delicious.

Grilled Octopus Antipasti

I enjoyed the Al fresco dining but the food was solid 3.5 stars. Started out with some house red and whites. The bread was warm and good. The octopus was good but needs a bit of white beans. Also they didn't serve it for everyone. Mussels Bianca good but not memorable. The prix fixe portions were small. Calamari good, salmon portion is small. Matteo's chopped salad is good too, not memorable. The shrimp Luciano was a nice size. Aside from that we got the branzino which was big but not deboned and no grill char. I had to ask for salt and pepper. The broccolini was not memorable. The roasted potatoes on the side were pretty good I enjoyed them more than my entree lol! The pasta pescatore was good too apparently and it was all finished, no leftovers! For dessert there was tartufo and biscotti and cappuccinos. Made and presented well. Price was hefty $300 and with tip was $350. Overall I much more prefer the Roslyn location but liked that there was alfresco dining and a parking lot here.

Visited from California! Food was so amazing and so was the service. I went during Long Island Restaurant Week. I had the calamari for appetizer and it was so soft and crunchy, not chewy at all! Zucchini Fritti was so amazing and crunchy. My whole branzino with broccolini was the best I've ever had. I actually got everything that was recommended to me by our server Darwin! Darwin is very attentive making sure you a very well taken care of. The Tiramisu was to die for. I had to take a bite before taking a picture. Definitely recommending this place to friends and family.

I have wanted to visit Matteo's for years and finally got the opportunity last night for my sister's birthday. We made a 5:30 reservation and when walking in, I was so surprised by how beautiful the place was. This must have been a house at one point as you can see how there are different sections of the restaurant which were rooms. Beautifully done either way. Because this is on the nicer side, I was surprised to see people walking in both dressed well and for a baseball game. But I digress... For our appetizers we spilt a Caesar salad, warm mozzarella and fried zucchini. All were great aside from the zucchini which was drenched in oil. We hardly ate that at all. The menu boasts many different pasta dishes and we all enjoyed them immensely! You have the option of family size or smaller portions and we still had food to take home. The desserts were amazing too! And our server Eddie was warm, polite and helpful the entire time. Overall great dining experience. 2/23/2024

Matteo's of Huntington: The Trifecta of Taste, Style & Heart! We Long Islanders are spoiled with excellent Italian cuisine--but Matteo's of Huntington doesn't just join the ranks, it leads them. Some restaurants dazzle with culinary artistry, others with ambiance or service--but very few shine in all three. Matteo's, however, hits this coveted trifecta with flying colors. A Flavorful Symphony for Your Senses Every bite is a love letter to your palate, exploding with flavor and finesse. The kitchen masterfully blends traditional and innovative recipes from both Northern & Southern Italy , elevating your meal into a full-on experience. The recently renovated space is a stylish, modern-chic dream--think rich wood accents, sleek marble finishes, glowing ambient lighting, and mesmerizing fireplaces that dance and flicker, setting a cozy yet energetic vibe throughout. With mellow background music and a lively buzz , the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and alive. Where Hospitality Becomes Magic From the moment we stepped through the door , we were welcomed like family. Dennis, the managing proprietor, greeted us with a genuine smile, and hostess Hanna radiated warmth with her smile. The whole staff exudes passion and joy--it's contagious! A special shoutout to our server Melvin, whose courteous, polished, and charismatic service turned dinner into something truly special. The Feast Begins... We kicked things off with the Shrimp Scampi Pizzetta and a Tricolor Salad . Let me just say--this pizzetta is next-level. Tender gulf shrimp , EVOO, capers, garlic , arugula, and a hint of citrus ‍, all atop a perfectly crisp crust oozing with melted mozzarella . It's a flavor bomb that you must try. The Tricolor Salad was no sidekick--it brought fresh burrata, roasted peppers , almonds, and greens together with a luscious balsamic glaze. Add those fluffy pizza bread points for scooping? Chef's kiss. ‍ The Showstoppers: Entrées That Wow Each entrée dazzled (yes, I sampled everyone's ).    *   Soft Shell Crabs Piccata : A dreamy combo of artichoke hearts , grape tomatoes , capers, and lemony angel hair pasta bathed in a delicate white wine sauce . Light, bright, and full of zing.    *   Grilled Shrimp "Wendy": Subtly powerful. Perfectly grilled shrimp paired with charred string beans and a zingy Dijon mustard dressing. Simple, yet bold.    *   Baby Rack of Lamb : Coated in a Dijon-panko crust, served with fingerling potatoes and broccoli rabe , and finished with fresh chimichurri . Every bite was a bold, savory dance .    *   The Pork Chop "Ultima" : Topped with spicy cherry peppers and melted mozzarella , this bone-in beauty was crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. A true "wow" dish. Sweet Finale: Dessert Dreams Though we were stuffed, we were surprised with the dessert they brought to the table. The warm Dulce de Leche crepe with fresh strawberries and whipped cream was pure velvet. Light, sweet, comforting--utter perfection. Everything was Spectacular Don't Miss This: Unbeatable Prix Fixe Deal Matteo's offers an exceptional 3-course Prix Fixe menu Tuesday-Thursday for just $44.95, including wine or beer . It's an outstanding value packed with flavor, variety, and elegance--perfect for a midweek treat. Final Thoughts: A Must-Try Gem Whether you're in the mood for a romantic date night, a lively group dinner, or just a great drink at the bar, Matteo's offers it all--with heart, style, and unforgettable flavors. The high-energy vibe is fueled by the passion of both the staff and the happy patrons. We'll absolutely be back--very soon!

Lobster Fresh Made Ravioli

First time here and great meal! We did not sit by the cozy fire but we sat in an area that was secluded and less crowded, which made it easy to have a conversation. For an appetizer my husband shared the lobster ravioli which was one of the pasta dishes. So good and lots of lobster filling! For dinner we got the big portion of red snapper to share. Another winner! Not a fish I normally get but was excellent. Light sauce, and the spinach with it was very nice. For dessert my husband had the chocolate cake and I had the chocolate molten lava cake. Both very rich desserts but again so delicious. I can definitely say I will be back, and maybe when it's warmer can sit outside even as they had tables there too!

This has turned into our go to place! Food is consistently fantastic and as is the service. I highly recommend this place to our family and friends and they have enjoyed it as well. Prices are great too! An overall wonderful dining experience.

I have no complaints. The food was amazing. The drinks were made deliciously. The service was wonderful. The ambiance was dim and romantic.

The most delicious shrimp dish! Order some pasta for the sauce.

Update- Went to the restaurant for dinner. The service, the drinks and the food were all wonderful. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating but seemed stretched pretty thin. The only picky critiques I have are that the side order of rigatoni I ordered was pretty over cooked and over sauced which made it into a bowl of mush, and there was no cannoli on the dessert menu. Would I come back? You betcha!

We've been to the Roslyn location of Matteo's and we wanted to check out how the Huntington location was since it was LI Restaurant week. The ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy and classy. We were seated towards the front of house just to the right of the entrance. Our server was really great at making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I got the calamari to start which was fried to perfection and super tender. For the entree I got the chicken ultimo which was a chicken cutlet in a francese sauce with cherry peppers and topped with fresh mozzarella. It was perfectly balanced in flavor as the heat from the cherry peppers worked well with the melty cheese and the chicken in the citrusy sauce. For dessert I got the biscotti with the cannoli cream. I would say this biscotti is more on the soft baked side and went well dipping it in the creamy cannoli cream. Looking forward to returning again.

We came for after-dinner drinks and dessert, but none of us were in the mood for anything sweet, so we ordered the fried chicken instead. It was absolutely delicious, and the sauce that came with it? I could drink it by the glass. Three of us ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned, which is as much of a performance as a cocktail. Since it was the end of the evening, they only did the smoked enclosed glass presentation for two of the drinks, joking that we were probably over it for the third. That was a bit disappointing, but understandable given it was closing time. I'd love to come back and try their omakase.

So let's dive into the great and the questionable. The Great: Service, ambiance and food quality - they rotate the menu every month depending on the freshest ingredients and build a menu to honor and respect the Japanese cuisine. Truly a beautiful journey on each curated plate. Since they rotate out the menu what I tasted today will change so I won't go into each detail of the dish. The questionable: This is purely personal and from my perspective, please go and try this place out regardless. The booking is relatively easy on line through tock, the cost on the counter is $200 pp they will take on the 20% service fee so you can go and enjoy without having to think about the bill - which is nice ! But to me it's a bit non personal- I prefer to tip at the end depending on my experience as a whole. This is purely my preference as I do overtip. I ordered a drink as I didn't pre book the drink experience because I had a minor with me. Then I felt that I should overtip which I did when I paid for the drink. Let's talk about the menu- the food was truly amazing especially the ingredients but maybe it was this set of menu. It was composed of more soup/wet dishes than I would have liked. Perhaps August menu would be different. Overall I gave it 5 stars because I believed they uphold the traditional kaiseki tradition and respected each element presented. I will be coming back for the winter menu to see what they can create next!

The place itself is very nice and has a cool feel to it. It goes really far back and has two bars, with a little stage in the middle for local musicians and performers. In terms of the drinks they serve, they have a lot of good canned craft beer options (not sure what's on tap), that are served in a nice chilled glass. Their cocktails are very creative and taste delicious. My friends got an East meets West (Mezcal, mango puree, fresh lemon, basil simple syrup with tajin chili salt rim & basil leaf) and a Main Squeeze (Blood orange vodka, passion fruit nectar, aperol, elderflower liqueur, lime juice, thyme simple syrup topped with citrus foam & dried rose petals). The east meets west was really good, and the basil really complemented the mezcal in an unexpected way. The main squeeze was also really delicious and tasted like candy, except for a perplexing smokey aftertaste that we couldn't quite figure out. Overall though some very creative and potent cocktails that we definitely want to come back and try more of! My only issue was with how slow the service at the bar in the front was. I feel like those two cocktails shouldn't have taken 15 minutes to prepare (not an exaggeration). Maybe this is an issue with understaffing?

The bar area is separate from the main dining room and feels like its own space, with a large bar, a few small tables, and seating along the windows. It was fairly lively for a Thursday night. The bartenders were fun and engaging, clearly knew many of the regulars, and did a great job keeping the energy up. While there are no formal happy hour deals, they do serve complimentary chunks of parmesan, which were very good. The cocktail and wine menu is fairly extensive. We only ordered a small starter (fingerling potatoes for $13), but the dinner portions we saw looked generous. I enjoyed a glass of Malbec (~$15) and generous pour. Prices are closer to New York City pricing, though the portion sizes may be enough to share. When you enter the restaurant, you pass a large patio with tables, which would be especially nice during warmer months. Overall, Farm Italy feels like a great spot for catching up with friends over drinks, and I would definitely come back to try more of the food.

I remembered the restaurant so fondly and I've always wanted to go back since I moved out of LI. This weekend when I was visiting with my husband, I wanted to take him there because of how great it was the first time we went. We were able to grab a reservation for four people at 4 PM (which is pretty tough otherwise). Our server was nice and drinks were good but it didn't feel like that elevated experience that I once had here. The most disappointing part was that all of the food lacked so much flavor. We ordered the frito misto, the taglioni? (Pecorino cake style appetizer), salad, pappardelle, NY strip steak, roasted chicken. I felt like everything but the taglioni and salad lacked so much flavor and depth. I recall enjoying their food and having such an extraordinary experience the first time around, and this just felt like really basic food at a premium price point. I'm hoping it's a one off thing based off of circumstances outside their control, but I don't think I'd be going back anytime soon
