Food was amazing really liked the ambience. The servers were really nice and overall restaurant was very welcoming. We decided to try the restaurant out during restaurant week. And for starters, we had the eggplant and also casino clams. My boyfriend had the chicken al vodka, which was amazing and I had the shrimp oreganata. The drinks were strong. Came on a Friday for sat right away, table felt like one too many on the row, didn't like that but once the person behind me left I was okay, Food was solid, service was friendly but a bit diff I think it's a place a lot of close locals go to so the regulars seem to be taken care off more but I didn't mind. My husband and friends came on a Thursday evening and they had a restaurant week menu which is a prefix menu with selected choices of appetizers, entrees and desserts for $46 PP, great deal which we did! We ordered clams, a pear salad and burrata to start. All great and the pear salad was refreshing! Then had shrimp pasta, and braised boneless beef short rib. The pasta was good but the short ribs were soft and flavor was spot on with potatoes and vegetables! If you eat meat, I recommend ordering this dish! We have been dining at Piccolo's since the restaurant was first opened. Our dining experiences have always been superior, and the service is first class. The restaurant has a traditional wood accented ambience with an open-door dining room when weather permitting. When you enter the restaurant, one will find a cozy bar area tucked to the left of the dining room. We have enjoyed many family dining celebrations at Piccolo's; anniversaries, birthdays, reunions, and presurgical dinners which are the most humorous event. Many of our favorite dishes include Shrimp wrapped in Bacon Special, Tuna Steak Special, and stuffed artichoke when available as an appetizer is ridiculously good. And it was available on our recent last visit. Other favorites we have enjoyed at Piccolo's include eggplant meat balls and the seafood specials which are always good. I had wanted to try Piccolo's for years. I had high expectations for the food and was slightly disappointed. Although the sausage and broccoli rabe Italian egg rolls were awesome. Linguine and clams were good . My short rib tasted more like a pot roast then a typical braised short rib on the bone. The clams oreganata were just ok - the sauce was think and the breadcrumbs were kind of bland. I prefer Sal D's across the street for Italian. read more

Do not go here!!! My family wanted to celebrate with me my, " five year cancer free Anniversary," with a nice dinner... however, that was far from what happened. It was lobster night. The first of many waiters took our drink and appetizer order. Another waiter took our dinner order. The appetizer came out quickly. Then it seems they forgot we were there! We had to ask busboys for water as we watched table after table of people who came in after us get their meals. In our lifetime of eating in restaurants we never had to wait so long for our entrees. Constantly we would ask after 30 min, 45 min, 60 min... where is our dinner? They would assure us it was coming. Finally, after 1 hour and 20 minutes our dinners arrived. My husband's veal was ice cold! My lobster wasn't cut up as promised and was cold and dried out! Our children's dinners were Luke warm as well! There was no apology .... only excuses on their behalf! Needless to say, we will never return! A happy occasion turned out to be a horrendous one...where we never even ate dinner! After several calls to the restaurant...they still opted to charge us $130 for four meals that were never eaten! This restaurant has poor customer service! read more

I used to dine out three times per week at various places in Nassau and Suffolk. But I rarely go out for dinner these days. It's become more expensive and often disappointing. However, Piccolo is easily my new favorite restaurant and among the best I've tried on Long Island. The ambiance, food and service are also at least equal to the best I've sampled in the city without the stuffiness. Portions are larger than expected too. A superlative experience! I have dined at Piccolo many times in the past and have always enjoyed the food and the service. On this occasion, after a gap of many years, I was apprehensive that standards may have deteriorated. Not at all. If anything, things may have even improved. This is an AMAZING restaurant. They recently renovated the interior which makes the restaurant a lot more intimate and trendy. The service here is incredible (shoutout to Jeremy, seriously the best server I've had at any restaurant). He makes you feel right at home, makes fantastic recommendations, and always has a smile on his face. I'd also like to highlight how friendly and attentive the bus boys are here. Ricardo is an absolute gem and always makes sure to say hello when we come in. Most importantly, the food is incredible. The highlights for me are: the fried oysters, the veal chop flaherty, and the pesto gnocchi. This is truly a fine dining Italian establishment with the best food and staff. I had my daughter's baby shower here on June 1, 2024, and I am so disappointed I was talked into this restaurant. From the minute I got there they were exceedingly unaccomodating, would not let us in to have our proper time to set up. The food was "ok" but the wait staff and manager Jason were so rude. The service was definitely not with a smile and as soon as 4:01pm came they started removing table cloths and vacuuming under peoples feet while still sitting. I will never recommend this place even though the food is ok, because there are way better places in Huntington for the high price. read more

Never in a million years would I have ventured here if not for my work wife. On Wall Street in Huntington and in a plaza with many other artsy fartsy shops. Parking in front can be tricky but there is plenty o' parking in the back and across the street. Bar was hopping- ended up getting a table while we waited for our 3rd to join us. Incredibly attentive host & servers; I actually didn't know who was our server because there was always someone coming round to check our drinks, bread, appetizers and entree's. My husband and I went here for Valentine's Day, and we were SO excited! We have only been out once for dinner since covid started and as a health care worker with a husband who hasn't worked in a year with two little kids, I was looking forward to a night out!!!! I was so disappointed. We were told with our reservation we only had 90 minutes at the table, which I understood due to limited seating. But once we got there I found you could only choose off the Valentine's Day menu-again I get it. They only offered one salad for the salad course and I hate beets (it was a beet salad), so I asked if could order another salad and pay the difference. The waiter sash would check and let me know-20 minutes later we received two beet salads with no explanation. So 20 minutes later a server came by (we had three different ones serving our table so I couldn't keep them straight) asking if we liked our salad. I explained that I had requested if another salad was an option and no one ever got back to me and brought me the beet salad-he took our salads and left without saying anything. Another 20 minutes went by and a new salad was dropped off-and the waiter said not to tell anyone. I would have just picked out the beets if someone had communicated with me what was happening-but I felt like we just kept sitting and waiting. I next ordered a medium well fillet minion, my favorite meal ever saved only for special occasions due to the cost. It came out literally bleeding. But the problem was-after it was dropped off-no waiter came back to check on us for another 20 minutes. Then they offered to cook it more-but at this point we had been here for two hours, my husband was done eating and our babysitter was done for the night and so was I. They took the steak off our Bill after I asked them to, but I thought maybe a manager would come out or they would offer a free dessert. I was so so so disappointed. After not going out after almost a year, I guess I was expecting more, both service and food wise-especially after our Bill came. So sad and won't be back, will explore other Huntington choices. read more

Great meal tonight at piccolo: we started with baked clams and escarole, white beans and pancetta. Both great! Wife had bone in veal chop valdestano and I had rack of lamb. Both superb with hearty portions (dinner tomorrow). Tomorrow is the town St Pattys day parade and the law enforcement guys in full regalia were in the bar with their bag pipes and community spirit. We arrived pretty early on a Sunday night (probably around 5:30) and service was extremely slow, despite being mostly empty. We got the wrong entree the first time around (despite specifically asking for the entree carbonara and not the special) but they swapped it out eventually. The stuffed artichoke (with creamy goat cheese and breadcrumbs) was delicious and very filling. The calamari was average. Service was horrific. Took over an hour to get our food. Had to keep asking the waiter and server and we were kept being told , " food will be out shortly." When the food finally came out half the order was wrong. The waiter confirmed the food orders to us numerous times as he appeared to have a brain lapse and couldn't remember who ordered what. We came here for a private event in the back and the staff catered to us with care. The food was out of this world. We had penne alla Vodka, fried branzino, mashed potato, chicken parm, eggplant meatball. The eggplant meatball and the mashed potato were the best bites I've had in my life, pretty dramatic but honestly that is the only way to describe them. Got there early and they wanted to sit us in the patio. We told them we would wait for our reservation and they told us it didnt matter we have to sit in the patio. They give preferential treatment to those they know as they sat people in the main room who came in after us after calling them by name. One of my absolute favorite restaurants on Long Island. My grandparents and I were the first ones to be seated when they first opened and they even had the article from Newsday with my grandparents one eh front cover! The food has always been amazing, consistent, very upscale and the service is impeccable! The duuuuckkkkkk is rrrrrrroasted twice and crispy as Georgie says and is the best on the island. Finally, a really nice restaurant in the neighborhood depending on what route you take. The way there was much longer than the way home, thanks Siri! Lol We arrived there at 6:06 PM and the sweet hostess gave us 3 options. We chose the table near the bar. We had 2 loud parties sitting on each side but it was all good. We have been together for a long time to do we really need to listen to each other? He's adorable and he splurged and has 2 whole glasses of some expensive Chardonnay. I only had one pear vodka drink that I altered, as usual. Lol. We had the soup duo which was delicious. Lentil and butternut squash. Yummy. I was debating between the swordfish and tuna. The waiter said to order the sesame crusted tuna so I went for it! I am extremely satisfied and I want to eat more! Thank goodness it was a hearty piece so I'm thinking about a late night supper. Bf had seafood pasta but it wasn't gluten free so none for me. We ordered take out tonight and it wasn't quite as good as dining in. The gluten free seafood pasta was just okay. Mussels were sandy and crunchy. I was afraid my teeth were going to chip. Aren't you supposed to wash the mussels as part of the prep? Not impressed with their marinara sauce either. First time diner this past Saturday. Gorgeous restaurant that really surprises after pulling up to its strip-mall entrance. Clear neighborhood favorite with a Cheers-like everyone knowing everyone's name. We were so excited, and then we weren't. We had a big group, 10 people, so they put us in the tent. No big deal, the space was comfortable and well decorated, so a fine option. After sitting at 8pm, we ordered apps and mains straight away thinking they were busy. Apps came after a reasonable wait. But at 10pm I had to go inside to complain to the host that we were still waiting on the entrees. The table next to us had same issue, said they'd driven nearly an hour to celebrate a birthday but waited forever for food. The food was really good I will not deny. In fact the pork chop toomey is spectacular. But even for a Saturday the wait was unreasonable and after bringing up my dissatisfaction we weren't even offered a cannoli. Maybe it was because they stuck us in the tent. Maybe because we were not regulars. Maybe the dog ate someone's homework. But whatever the reason 'Piccolo' for this reviewer lived up to its namesake - small, and not worth the trip. read more
