Came here the other day with my boyfriend and ordered the double cut pork chop. It was sweet and spicy and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the 10 oz. Filet Mignon with au poivre sauce and a side of burnt broccoli. He loved it and they cooked that perfectly as well. We finished off with some bread pudding and we absolutely loved it. Our server was also on top of every request. Overall our dinner was was amazing and we will definitely be coming back. read more

When I asked the waiter what the specials were after looking at the menu he told me he said they were listed in the menu when he gave the menu to me which he did not Had an appetizer till 9 and when asked where the entree was he left for the kitchen and only because I went to the host / Maitre d to complain did the food come at 930 which we said we will take it to go. I tipped the normal amounts regardless and when I told the host it really was a crappy experience I felt he should have done more than say I Hooe you give us another try it was very busy tonight. What a great meal. This restaurant was so intimate and had a great menu. I had ravioli with burrata. It was delicious. I shared a cold antipasto for two. For dessert, my friends and I shared oatmeal creme pie. OMG!!!!!! It was so amazing. This place has great food, great service and a great time. I'll definitely be back to try more. read more

The waiters brought the bread& water out immediately. We order a bottle of wine. We placed our food order & within minutes our Caesar Salad & Crab cake came out at the same time. We explained to the waiter that they should have been brought out later. When we finished our salad & his response was that's how we serve it. They lose a star for absolutely awful service and zero attention to our table. They were quick to take our drink order but I guess when you don't order alcohol they decide to forget you for the night. My water wasn't refilled until after the meal was served and we waited an hour for the food. I wasn't even offered a refill on my iced tea! When the food finally arrived no one, I mean no one came to check on us or even ask how the meal was. Prior to the food finally arriving we had told them we had an event to get to. That did t matter. Then to add insult to injury it took them over 15 min to get check. We had to ask 3 times. We finally got up out of our chairs and walk to register and then pay. As for the food it was actually very good but honestly I'm never going back. First off I'd like to start this review by saying I never write reviews because I don't wanna hurt anyone's business. I am so upset and disgusted with the way the managers handle their business. Stephanie is extremely rude. She claims to be the manager but apparently can't handle anything. Jason is nice but unresponsive. I ordered catering here for my bridal shower and almost all the food was left over because my guests told me the food was not good and I was extremely embarrassed. When I called up the restaurant twice and very politely at first asking for a partial refund they told me they felt like it was my fault that the food was not good and won't refund me I should've called the day of and left a voicemail. By the time I realized all the food was left over which I provided pictures of they told me I should've called that night at 11 PM or the next day which I felt was not courteous because it was Father's Day and I knew how busy it would be. They said because I called three days later they're not going to refund it to me when I had all the food sitting there. They are just money hungry and don't care about customers clearly! Stephanie also told me she call me back and never did. So I called again 2 weeks later. The food was garbage and a horrible quality. The chicken was like rubber and tasted like it was shredded grocery store cheese on top. The penne à la vodka tasted like dirty water sauce no flavor at all. She blamed me saying it was my fault if the food is not quality. She told me it was how I prepared it. I cater events all the time and constantly bring in and never have this issue. Disgusted at this business apparently they told me the owner Dean is the one who came to the decision because I called three days later and when I asked to speak to him they said he's very busy and I can keep calling to get a hold of him. Stephanie also rushed me and told me that she hast to go and she's very busy meanwhile when I called the restaurant was closed so she was clearly lying. Stephanie provided no insight or solution and just kept repeating herself rudely. Would never do business with them again. I also gave her the opportunity to make it right and told her I was going to write a bad review and she said that it was fine that I could keep calling back. Horrible restaurant, food and staff. First time here as my wife and I gather and create a restaurant rotation for after the Northport Theater. Res was for 6:30 PM but "Grease" was over sooner then expected........so off we went. Of course early was no problem as we noticed at 6:30 PM there were ZERO seats and people traffic approach was full by the door and bar. GET RESERVATIONS on a Saturday night for sure. The place was FULL until we left. Good for them, as you will see there is a reason why - great food and service. In our case, and then in watching others. We had THREE wait staff-folks constantly (waiter 1 who handled the menu presentation and constant checking, waiter 2 who took care of ordering and serving and constant monitoring, and basically a "beverage assassin" waiter who kept my non-alcoholic beer and my wife's cosmos at the ready and constantly filled!!!!! the maitre d' swung by 3 times through the meal and two "bus boys" on plate, water, and utensils. Not sure about the other reviewers, but I have not seen zone coverage and wait staff coordination like this at many restaurants at any level. Quick note: yes in a strip mail with a pizza joint right next store.......get in the door and you will see crown molding, leather panel appliques, a wonderful decor, nice seats and steady tables and a nice tiled bathroom. You are virtually transported to a free standing restaurant in an olde city neighborhood. The tables are absolutely matrix maximized and my wife and I had a private conversation easily but yes this is not booth or remote intimate table seating. They just do not have the space. OR first time diners like us (YOU) aren't getting in!!!! It was obvious this place was LOADED with regulars.!!!! (which is now gonna be us! ;-) Drinks a bit pricey for the cosmo (but not crazy by Long Island already overpriced standards) My wife had 3 Berry Cosmo. the first two were great.....the third was "odd tasting" per her and maybe a "gun button" misfire or mix error. we sent back, and the next was also unacceptable. she took two sips and never drank it. I don't press it at that point but note to the management if you see a 95% full SECOND attempt at a bad drink for $15 sitting on the table - you might ask. (this would be 5 star waitstaff coverage in my book, we woudl not have tried a second replacement and it should have been taken off the bill. okay the food (pictures here somewhere) first the daily specialized menu was professional and comprehensive. LOTS of things for veggie/vegan seeking me and my healthful girlfriend/spouse. apps were the eggplant meatballs (4/5 stars) and the zucchini flowers (5/5) this was VERY good and not too huge thankfully we would have eaten as many as they put out!!! For entree she had the halibut (5/5) (( we swap/taste since I do some pescetarian cheating sometimes in 90 meals of the month)) and this was GREAT product and fantastically cooked and seasoned. I had the spaghetti squash parmesan (3/5) that was good and while I very occasionally have cheese this thing was almost 50% cheese and was just way too heavy handed. the squash was nicely cooked and seasoned/spiced and the sauce was terrific so to almost wrap it in this much cheese was just too much. I slid it off but then the whole "pizza pie" came off as a blob and left me with a naked sauce and squash mound. In truth, maybe just broil the sauce and garlic squash and brown and cut the cheese by 80%??? we split a 3 flavor gelato and from the gelato connoisseur: the chocolate was icy, the pistachio was nut-less and bland, but the vanilla was flavorful, creamy and yummy. But not as good as our local to our home - Orto Restaurant in Miller Place. So, waitstaff and ALL staff and service - Excellent. Food was very good and varied for diet and allergy accommodations. decor was surprising and professional, the seating tight (almost packed) and efficient. (parking no problem at 5:30 and seemed okay when we left when the placed was jammed. We will be back "on rotation" when we check out a few more places in the Huntingdon area after the next show/date. Went there tonight with friends only to find a long line of people waiting to get in that were half hour past their reservation. When we asked the hostess what time we were going to be seated, she said she will call us and to wait outside in the freezing cold. So after waiting for over 20 min in the freezing cold we left. Lucky for them, because the attitude on the phone will not be forgotten . I called to ask if there are any precautions for seating ...due to the enormous rise in covid cases on LI. I was told very flippantly that the tables are close together .. there is "no mandate'... so I guess if you are planning to travel in a week and need to be covid-negative, you can't keep your reservation at Piccolo. Plenty of other wonderful restaurants in this area, and many much nicer to be clear. The food is not even that great. went here for date night. had a bottle of wine that was great ordered the rack of land and 12oz filet. Wine was great. Server was not great , barley came over to us had bussers asking how we were and giving us the check when we had a complain about the lamb. Lamb listed with a Demi glaze but tasted like it was dipped in mustard and served to us. When explaining the issue server didn't care and was condescending. will not ever come back here and do not recommend unless just having soley drinks. read more

If you want true Italian food, this place is a must. Homemade pasta and the burrata could not be more fresh and creamy. The service is absolutely outstanding with very experienced waiters accommodating anything you ask. Of course the best part of the night is their homemade cheesecake which was EPIC. There is a reason this place always hits high marks in Zagat- it is simply incredible. The place does have the tables packed in there a little too tightly for me, but it is cozy and romantic. Piccolo is the only restaurant worth going to in Huntington. We lived in Huntington for about 5 years, and have tried all of the restaurants. Most are pricey for average food. Piccolo, however, is a fabulous and romantic night-out that is well worth the bill. Pro tip: if you can score one of the few bar seats, you don't even need a table. Cocktails are top-notch, all of the bartenders are fabulous and really know how to make a mean martini. You can also order the full dinner menu at the bar and enjoy the live piano music on a Friday night. Such a lovely go-to for a dinner that will not disappoint. read more

Piccolo was a great choice for celebrating a birthday recently, everything was close to perfect. Made a reservation for 8:45 and while our table wasn't quite ready for us upon arrival we waited at the bar and had a drink, which is what we like to do anyways before sitting down. The bar area is fairly small and a tight squeeze when you're standing because you have the server station right at the end and feel like you're standing over peoples' tables while they're dining, but luckily we were able to find a seat within a few short minutes and that solved the problem. The bartender is a pro and was a really cool dude, friendly, outgoing and hooked us up with blue cheese stuffed olives! We were seated at a table in the middle of the dining room and menus brought to us shortly after. Their wine list is beyond impressive, I went with a glass of the super tuscan and my date got a martini. Their special menu for the evening was huge, it could have been their only menu offering and it would have been sufficient so it was difficult to choose. Tons of salads and delicious sounding starters. Picking an entree was nearly impossible, they offer gluten free pasta, which is good to know. We started with salads; tri colore and the caesar, both fresh, delicious and dressed appropriately. Next, raw oysters, probably the best I've ever had, super fresh and meaty and it came with horseradish, mignonette, cocktail sauce and lemon, so tasty. My entree was out of this world good. Any time I see sesame crusted tuna on a menu, I get it. It's a healthy option and I like walking out of a restaurant after eating a great meal that I don't feel guilty about. It was perfectly seared served over shaved brussels sprouts, seasoned perfectly, I mean perfectly. I have a huge aversion to salt and usually ask our sever not to add salt but at a place like this I didn't feel like I would have to mention that and I was right. Pickled ginger is one of my favorite parts of ordering tuna and on this dish it was warm, which I loved! The other entree we had was the Orecchiette Caroline, it came with sausage, broccoli rabe, tomato and garlic. The portion was enormous and it tasted fantastic. They had a big dessert menu in my opinion with many different gelato flavors to choose from. We went with the pistachio gelato and it was good, too good I went to town on that. I tried the, "I'll just have a bite" thing, yeah good luck with that. Their espresso was so good, everything was just delicious. We did have a napkin under our table that I picked up thinking it was mine, but it was left from the table before us and it was covered in sauce so that was a yuck moment for a second, but it's all good. The service was impeccable from start to finish. I wasn't sure what kind of red I wanted and a gentleman came over and let me taste two different options, they just went above and beyond for us and we were not regulars, we were not special, we were just two people coming in for a great meal and we were treated like the most special people around. The one star is solely for service. Food would be a two or three. Saturday night sadly will be my last night at Piccolo. My family has been going there since before I was born. There are dishes on the menu that were named after great family friends. Over the years, we have seen Deano and his son Dean grow their restaurants around the area because of great food and great service. However over the past ten years, we have seen the service and food deteriorate. We have had complaints now and then, but nothing overly egregious, until tonight. It felt like a circus where all they care about is making that last buck. Look at how close the chairs were placed - hello fire hazard. And no, this is not a diner or a Chucky Cheese where you would almost expect seats to be on top of each other so you couldn't get out. This is supposed to be fine dining. My mom and sister's seats were knocked easily 15 times throughout dinner by the staff because honestly they just had no other way to get to the tables around us. The manager is the epitome of everything that is wrong with this restaurant. When confronted with showing the seats how they were and mentioning how my family kept being knocked, there was no apologetic reply. I would have even been okay with him saying sorry about that but all he did was look annoyed at me and then simply the excuse was that it was Saturday night. Service should never suffer this much just because it's Saturday. We are paying the same prices as we would on a weekday. The food was okay. The ala vodka just isn't as good as it used to be. My mom and niece had to send their filet mignons back twice and finally it was correct the third time. I love the old Piccolo, and we are so sad to see the service suffer so much. read more

Each time we have dinner there, there is alway an altercation with the hosts. We had 6pm reservations and arrived 5:30. They had plenty of open tables. We asked to sit, have a drink and wait for our friends to arrive. They would not let us sit and asked us to wait at the bar. We finally sat at 6pm, plenty of empty tables throughout our dinner. I went to Piccolo last night with a group of friends and had an amazing experience. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They had a very talented piano player who played throughout the night. The wait staff were very knowledgeable on the menu and were willing to answer any questions and make suggestions based on our food restrictions and preferences. Every dish we had was spectacular! We actually were all still talking about our favorite dishes today! Some of our favorite dishes were the Ricotta gnocchi, crispy blue point oysters, and the duck. Worse experience. Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for my wife's birthday. I was brought outside to sit in a tent after a expectation of zagat fine dinning inside. This had nothing to do with covid or social distance as the inside was maxed out to capacity. The manager was confrontational and unapologetic telling me it was not outside dining and its first come first serve. Nothing was done to make it right. I will never go back to this establishment. They are not transparent and no one tells you that you will sit outside till your in a plastic bubble. They are clearly trying to recoup profits as the workers are overwhelmed dealing with a tent of tables and the inside restaurant to capacity. Being up front and honest with your customers when booking a reservation and upon entering the restaurant should be standard. Bake clams were not great, oysters were fresh, cold antipasto was ok , short rib was good and tender, drinks were good . read more

Came here to celebrate our Anniversary. When we arrived, we were the first table there. We got our drinks ok and placed our order. For an appetizer, ordered the risotto balls which were delicious, but it took the busboy forever to clear away our plates. My husband had the veal chop and I ordered the pasta dish with rock shrimp. Both were delicious. But again, we waited at least 20 minutes for them to clear the table. Seems like there was only one waiter taking orders and the rest were bus boys or runners. He took our order and we never saw him again. Busboys were clearing all the tables around us, but basically ignored our table. Finally my husband said something to the maitre d and he cleared the table and brought us a chocolate mousse as a complimentary dessert. We wanted coffee but he never asked. Service was terrible. First off i must say that their food is very good. I had ordered a pasta dish and asked for 4 pieces of shrimp on it. About an hour later i get the food and on the bill it says they charged me $32 for 4 pieces of shrimp. That is $8 a shrimp. These were by no means anything other than ordinary pieces of shrimp. They tasted fine and were rather small in size. But $32 for 4 pieces of shrimp being $8 each. GET OUTTA TOWN! read more

This doesn't even deserve a star and here is why. We made a reservation weeks in advance and arrived 10 minutes late due to local town traffic. As a punishment, we were told that we could no longer eat in the dining room but could eat at the bar. Really? There were empty tables in the dining room, but we were not 'allowed' to sit there. For a meal of this $, I'm not sitting at a bar. The two 'teenagers' at the front of the restaurant are rude and miserable. Go home and finish your homework, it's past your bedtime. read more

Like Franco said, this place is super-cozy and romantic. It's been a destination for my family for 8 Christmas Eve's and counting. They have a few different seating times in which to come here, and the food is (mostly) superb. We had a little hiccup in service last year, as we were seated in the booth next to the bar and the door. It was freezing cold there, and the food wasn't nearly as good as it normally was. I can't really recall what we had ordered, to be honest. This year more than made up for last year. The chef changed up some of the items on the menu, but kept some of the old favorites, like the calamari with basil aioli and red sauce fra diavolo. A new addition to their line up is the goat cheese stuffed figs, which come with 1/4 canteloupe and proscuitto di parma. The figs were beautifully ripe, and were slightly warm and the goat cheese was mild and creamy. Whatever they are doing now is working; the restaurant is evolving with the times and is keeping what has made them so popular in the first place. read more
