Great local pizza spot, with excellent service! They have more than just pizzas on the menu. Gets busy on the weekends!

La Porta is a gem in Northport, offering elevated Italian dishes in a cozy, modern setting. We loved the Mozzarella Gigante and Mini Risotto Balls to start--both crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. The Lucas branzino was perfectly seared and paired beautifully with risotto and spinach. The Antonio Amore rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe was hearty and comforting, and the Al Funghi pizza had incredible depth from the mushrooms and sweet onions. Cocktails were just as impressive--especially the Sicilian Mule and LaPorta Spritz. Overall, an outstanding dining + service experience. Can't wait to return!

Came here for dinner with my friend for the first time. First off I love the town it's in a block away from the water and boats. I love the outdoor seating area and open doors of the restaurant. We really felt like we were eating in Italy. The food was delicious. We got salads, mozzarella and tomato, and risotto balls. The meatballs were incredible. The mushroom pizza was sooo delicious. I loved the branzino dish as well. My friend got the pesto gnocchi and it was perfectly cooked and the pesto sauce was delicious. The servers were super helpful and the owner was in as well which I love to see. The drinks and dessert were also really good. I loved the Sicilian mule! The tartufo was very perfect I couldn't stop eating it.

Welcome to Northport LaPorta, and we are so happy to have you here because this pizza spot/ restaurant is absolutely delicious. Beautiful new interior, spacious, sturdy and clean tables and very friendly service. We split the "Carmine" pizza and it was so good, the cupped pepperonis, the hot honey, the char at the bottom. No flop. 8.2 for my rating. The big mozz sticks were also good, not crazy good but okay, and the serving of Vodka Sauce and Marinara is a flawessly welcomed touch. I also really like the Cesar. Very cheesy. Fresh. Crispy. And good to pregame before the pie. This spot is 5 stars. Ignore the haters. I will be back, and bring friends and family!

La Porta Northport, NY @laporta_northport This place is special! Newer to Northport and right in the heart of Main Street, La Porta is doing it right! The restaurant features authentic Neapolitan pizza made in their brick oven that they got imported straight from Italy. They also offer great appetizers, classic Italian dishes, and a full bar with handcrafted cocktails. Also, do not skip on their dessert including their pistachio ice cream, pistachio cheesecake, and classic tiramisu. We absolutely loved every bite and sip from this meal. The baked clams were fresh and flavorful. The pizza had a nice crisp with ingredients that paired excellent together. The entrees were delicious and the portions were pleasing, but not overwhelming, leaving you just enough room to indulge on one of their signature desserts. The service was excellent and very welcoming. Our server was nice to give her recommendations. We love it here and we know you will too! Went to La Porta on Friday night... new restaurant that opened in July on Main Street in Northport. It was a busy night but we were able to sit right down. Beautiful restaurant with a solid menu. We started off with a bottle of wine (they do not have their full liquor license yet but they're working on it. Only beer and wine available). We ordered the mozzarella sticks which was served with both vodka sauce and marinara. I was underwhelmed by these so I would choose a different appetizer to start. The entrees were incredible though! I had chicken parm and opted for rigatoni on the side. You can tell the pasta is fresh and the sauce is fabulous. My friend has the rigatoni with broccoli rabe and sausage. Also incredible. We ended the night with a tartufo dessert which was delicious. My only negative besides the mozzarella sticks being underwhelming was the fact that we wanted to order a pizza but opted out because the chef making them had a HUGE beard and no hair net on it and we were completely turned off by that. The pizza area is open so you can see them cooking the pizza and we were very surprised to see him cooking with such a long, bushy beard with no hair net. I would opt out of the pizza if he's cooking it. Other than that, I'd definitely come back!

Great local pizza place that has more than just pizza. Location in the heart of Northport town is so nice. Brick oven pizza is always a good choice!

Tried La Porta Pizza for the first time last week and had a mixed experience. We had 7:30 reservations for our friend's birthday, unfortunately we had to wait over an hour to be sat. They were very nice and offered us a complimentary beverage, but we still had to wait until 8:30 to get a table and half our party didn't drink. When we did get sat nobody gave us menus and the waitress didn't check on us for another 10 minutes. The food was good, the pizza was large enough for one person and to have a couple slices for leftovers or good to split if you were also getting an app. The food didn't come out that fast but its brick oven pizza so I understand the wait. We probably didn't eat until 9:15 which was okay, but had we been hungrier we wouldn't have been happy. They did do a nice cake with a candle for our friends birthday. The live music was also crazy good and we stuck around awhile after wrapping up our meal to listen. Overall will be back to hear the live music and give La porta another shot

When you walk in you feel the warmth of the atmosphere. Tried the Margarita Pizza with pepperoni. The crust was baked to perfection. I look forward to returning for the homemade pasta dishes . Great service !

I love writing glowing reviews and providing honest feedback (feedback is a gift they say!) as the situation warrants. Even though La Porta seems to be able to illicit a reaction drawing people in with a charming aesthetic, they are the touch stone for the expression - beauty is only skin deep. Be good at what you put yourself out as ... an Italian restaurant. Be successful at the basics... take an order, make the order as taken, bring it out in time, make it well, and be attentive. These are challenges here. Particularly in the making what was ordered and making well.... So inconsistent in the execution. The bolognese sauce seldom tastes the same, and they under sauce without fail making the pasta so dry. See the picture of the Nonna's... it was a to go order. I asked for the sauce on the side, just to prove the point of how under sauced it will make the dish that little tiny cup is what they gave me for sauce on the side. Needless to say not enough sauce.. the Bolognese was off again tonight. Not bad just inconsistent.. order the New Yorker pizza. It was very good..That's what we ate instead of the pastas. Additionally, we put the order in over the phone but when we went to pick it up, the order had not been placed so we had to wait about 20 minutes. To apologize to us for our trouble they offered us 20% off, which was very nice. They rang the bill up and explained to what was supposed to be $69 but only charged us $65 with our 20% discount.... At this point, I'm not arguing about the math. I'm just not coming back. They just seem spread thin... a mile wide and an inch deep. Failed at the basics... As far as I'm concerned, La Porta can be added to the long list of meh eateries...Just MHOP....

This includes the olive oil cake, bbq pulled pork nachos, crispy Brussel sprouts, smash burger (although not consistent in size), and chicken picante. The restaurant is relatively new (just reached third year anniversary), so perhaps the kitchen needed more time to prepare dishes more consistently. For the most part the food now matches the social media hype. TIP: Others have recently noted slow service, incorrect orders. I have been visiting at the start of dinner service, and have not encountered this, so some of these issues may potentially be avoided by arriving before inexperienced service staff are overwhelmed. Most people will be seated on second floor which requires walking up a staircase. If special accommodation is needed I suggest informing restaurant in advance. There is some seating downstairs, but depending of time and day this area (bar) can get uncomfortably loud.

Perhaps with time and more "of a break-in period" they will emerge as a new jewel in the NorthPort food scene. But for me, at this time, they need a little work on the cuisine side. Here is my 2 star experience. The Much-hyped Branzino in Northport seemed like the perfect choice for a birthday dinner, and we were excited to finally try it. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The bar area is sleek and polished, and the overall décor is thoughtfully done. The ambiance really stands out--beautiful finishes throughout, and a large ficus tree with lights gives the space a dramatic, warm, upscale feel. It definitely sets the tone for what you expect to be a great evening. We were seated comfortably at a table for five, which was spacious and elegantly set. The staff was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure we had a great experience. It felt like we had a whole team taking care of us, and that level of service really stood out. Drinks and cocktails arrived quickly, and bread was brought to the table shortly after. The menu is diverse, though somewhat repetitive--featuring similar fish prepared in different ways, along with a mix of burgers, steaks, and pasta. The specials sounded appealing, and we were looking forward to our choices. Overall, the atmosphere and service were top-notch and created a lot of excitement for the meal ahead ... Then the food arrived. I and my fellow diners and I were so disappointed. The wagu meatballs were dry and overcooked, the fried calamari was tough and tasteless. The fish entrees we ordered were overcooked and also dry or otherwise drenched in a tasteless undefinable sauces that rendered the protein mushy and inedible. The steak (ordered medium to rare) lacked any flavor that a good quality marble of fat would have provide and sadly looked as if it was seared on too low of heat, causing a large brown ring of over cooked meat around a very small barley pink center. Sadly, the meal was left nearly uneaten and no one wanted to take their leftovers home. The price was on the high side, and the quality of the meal left all of us feeling a little sad. In the end... we finished dinner early and we ended up going to carvel and went home for coffee and desert. I'll try it again - but it may be waaay later this summer.

Instead, during the halftime show, the bartender deliberately muted Bad Bunny's performance and played completely different music over it. When bad bunny was playing we heard the bartender say, "What the F is this?" And when he muted it the customers in front of him said "Thank God." The owner or manager tried to make an excuse that there was a glitch with their system which was clearly BS, which was confirmed. This was not only unprofessional, it was blatantly disrespectful to customers who specifically came to watch one of the biggest televised events of the year. A business has no place forcing personal opinions, biases, or politics onto guests who are simply trying to enjoy a nationally broadcast program. The most upsetting part was watching my daughter become visibly upset after being excited all day to watch the performance, only to have it ruined by a staff member's personal decision. No customer -- especially children -- should have to miss part of a major event because an employee decided their preferences mattered more than the patrons'. Bad Bunny is a Grammy-winning global artist, and Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory. Regardless of anyone's personal views, deliberately censoring part of the Super Bowl broadcast is inappropriate, exclusionary, and completely unacceptable for a public establishment. We will absolutely not be returning, and I hope management seriously addresses this behavior so other families do not have their experience ruined the way ours was.
