    Bronx chicken Parm

Five giant stars for the food! The back of the house, crushed it once again. Two stars to the front of the house. Our server got lost, which seems difficult because the place is so small. We were out for a very special celebration and never had a chance to get dessert since when we finally flagged our waiter down we were just happy to get the check. They have a lot of specials, but they don't tell you what they are and they don't give you a separate menu. To view the specials you have to leave your seat and shlep through the narrow, crowded spaces and traverse to the front of the restaurant where they are on chalkboard. This seems silly especially for elderly patrons. We will be back, of course, because the food is so good but I wish the service was better.

This was the second time hubby and I decided to go to Robke's for a lunch date. The first time we ordered way too much food so we restrained a little this time. We arrived about 12:30 and as expected the small parking lot was full but a car happened to be leaving just as we pulled in, what luck! Last time we had to park across the street..although parking is scarce, there is plenty of seating inside. Hubby loves his Expresso martini so we each ordered a cocktail. Have to say, the Expresso martini is pretty strong but pretty yummy. My Mia spritz was refreshing but lol the ice waters it down. Pasta e fagioli for hubby and breaded artichokes for me. The fagiole soup wasn't as thick as we're used to from other restaurants but flavor was just right. The artichokes were a little too lemony for hubby but I enjoyed it. The pork chop martini was the dish hubby missed out our first time and as he didn't leave anything on the plate, I'm guessing he enjoyed it. The flavor of the penne alla Mia was good, the pasta slightly over al dente for me but still enjoyable, just too much quantity so I ended up taking it home. Dinner for tomorrow! We opted for no dessert. lol odd point but we had dessert last time and noticed the waiters go to a building next door to get the desserts. Just curious what they do when it's rainy as the desserts literally are transported on the dishes they are served to patrons. Couldn't do 5 stars because it wasn't absolutely amazing but everything we had was pretty solid so I don't give 4 stars lightly.

Pork chop Martini the lunch special. This is my new favorite meal.

This is one of my favorite hidden spots. The food and lunch specials are all amazing. I always start with the baked clams. I always take a Bronx Chicken Parm order home. And last few times I have to have the Pork chops Martini. Service is great and I love that it feels like you're in someone's home. The place has a hide away charm. Just remember to bring cash and find good parking. You will not want to rush this me

IYKYK (If you know, you KNOW)!!!!!! Robke's has an impressive social media presence and a cast of characters as its employees. A few caveats: Parking can be a challenge. Leave plenty of time to drive around and find a spot. They do not have regular coffee, only espresso or cappuccino. They are cash only, so make sure you hit the ATM before you go. Other than that, here is my honest review, after going there multiple times, on different days of the week and at different times of the year. They have a few signature dishes, but my highest accolades go to two of them: pork chop martini (also available with chicken), and their linguini "chop chop". The former is a pounded pork chop served with a white wine sauce and topped with hot cherry peppers. This is served with roasted potatoes. I've never had anything like it, including the ones other places try to duplicate. No one can top theirs. The "chop chop" is actually a seafood sauce over pasta (chop chop=cioppino). Imagine fresh seafood, dominated by clams, with a memorable sauce over al dente pasta. WOW. Their service is unique. They run a fast-paced and efficient restaurant. You won't wait for water, bread, or your meal. Do not mistake their crisp pace for rudeness; they are all about keeping the flow of things moving. Each and every server is personable and will be happy to recommend dishes or educate you on some of their "must-try" items. From firsthand experience, I can tell you they care for their customers. On a busy night, before attending a show at the theater on Main Street (it is a short drive from there!), I brought my mom, who uses a wheelchair. The second we walked in, they helped usher us to seats and were extremely accommodating. Those who dine with small children or elderly people with mobility issues can appreciate when a restaurant actually cares about its customers as human beings, all worthy of the same treatment and dining experience. Robke's is also Dining Deal Foodie approved: try their weekday lunch. $20 gets you a lunch that will keep you full until the next morning. Highly recommend!

Met friends here who live it here. Packed at 1:00 on a Monday....parked across the street. Great attentive service from Mike. The food was amazing- everything we ordered--- delicious! Even the bread was excellent. No room for dessert, and lots of leftovers. The food: I ordered two appetizers-eggplant caponata and Roman artichokes oreganata--excellent! My husband's linguini chop chop was delicious as well. Actually, everything we had was exceptional, especially the red snapper which I had a small taste ( see the photos !) A must go to!!!

After seeing all the hype about this restaurant on social media, we decided to try it today, on our Anniversary. First, parking is so terrible, we almost just drove away. It's a small, crowded restaurant, and tables are fairly close. Not ideal. It's also very loud, especially in the bar area, but even in the restaurant area plus, the music. We were sat at a table quickly. We were served a bread basket that was ice cold, like it came out out of the refrigerator with the butter. Disappointing. Our server was nice and very funny. He looked like he should be a bouncer! For appetizer, we had the baked clams. They were exactly what a baked clam should be. A small, whole clam with breading on top. Perfect! My husband had the Pork Chop Martini. He said it was the best pork chop he ever had. Flavorful and tender. I ordered the special, Zuppe di Pesce. It was excellent. Clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and calamari - it was all tender. When the bill arrived, we were surprised to find this restaurant is cash only. So we had to use their ATM for cash, which was no big deal, as they would have charged to use a credit card anyway. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience. Side note - go after 5, closer to 6. We were there at 4:30 and we confirmed with our server, early hours are busy with families and many kids.

    Chicken Milanese

Went there for lunch today. You cant beat the lunch price of 15.99 and the portions are still big. I had the chicken Milanese which was very good. The service was good as always

    Sunday specials

I had come here before in the past and always raved about it. Today was a different experience. We walked in like 4:15pm on a Sunday with 2 kids. Got a table with a high chair right away! Win! It became very busy and LOUD where we were sitting, the music was right above us. We ordered a Mac and cheese for the kids and the spinach artichoke riceball special appetizer. It came out in about 5 minutes, awesome, except the rice balls were still cold inside, not room temp, but cold. Also the Mac and cheese the pasta was hard, more than al dente. Now we waited over an hour for our mains to come out. Luckily they were the star of the show. I really wanted the twin pork chop but they were sold out, so I got the short rib. Wife got the chicken Valentino special and we were both pleased. Def giving mixed feelings review. It's still good food and I'm chalking it up to a few blunders. Will def give another shot

    Ossobuco
    Matt M.

Robke's are known for their inexpensive and great portions for their lunch specials. I could have ordered anything from their extensive menu, it all sounded wonderfully. And they made it difficult for me when they provided a specials menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The ossobuco fell off the bone and the sauce was tasteful. Chicken parm was also very good. I didn't see a kids menu but if you have multiple, they can easily share a dish. Dessert options are limited but you don't need many with a rainbow cookie cheesecake. It was weird they had to go outside to get it, but it was sooo good. Parking is extremely limited so be prepared to walk.

We finally made it to Robke's! I have been hearing about the lunch specials here for years but for some reason, we never made it here. So was it worth the wait? Depends. If you are looking for good food at a great price, then yes! If you are looking for the best shrimp, or best pasta or best steak, c'mon man! I will say though, their espresso martini was really good. Lots of alcohol and strong espresso flavor. It is not cheap; one drink costs more than some of their entrees but worth it IMO. Highly recommend! Free bread is always appreciated, although we appreciated it too much because we were too full by the time the food came. Spicy shrimp - was ok. There is a slight kick; could have used more. I think the sauce is just cocktail sauce. Overall just ok. Artichokes - pretty good but very lemony. Blackened steak - was a little overcooked but the blackened seasoning was nice. Fries were a little soggy. Gnocchi - wife thought they were a little overcooked but sauce was pretty good. Was too full to have desserts but will be back to try their pork martini and paperdelle, which we overheard the waiter saying was their best dishes. We sat in the extension area, which was a little chilly but quieter than main area. Service was very good. Overall, we enjoyed it and understand the value proposition!

Base my reviews off what you pay: Food - 4/5 - food taste great, massive portions. Service - 2/5 - multiple servers, no interaction. Ambiance - 2/5 - jammed, no real vibe. Overall - 3/5 - you only come here for the food. Food taste solid and you get massive portions for what you pay. Service leaves a lot to be desired, had multiple servers and all over the place. No real ambiance, you feel on top of other people, goes for a mix of sports bar and Italian restaurant.

Here for lunch today and actually every Friday since my last review 2 years ago. So what's changed, well actually nothing except the restaurant has gotten even more popular if that's possible. Same great service from the same knowledgeable and attentive staff, same great food at I think the same great lunch price, $15.95. Here are some of my all time favorites and like I said I come here weekly, Red Snapper Alforno, Pork Chop Martini, Linguine ChopChop shrimp and clams, Pork OssoBucco, Eggplant Parmigiana and if you see the veal stew listed as a special treat yourself to that. BTW lunch specials are posted daily for $17.95 CASH ONLY

What time do they serve lunch?

    11:30 on.

Does this restaurant offer any gluten-free options? I don't see any on the menu.

They have gluten free pasta as a substitution

Should I try coming here on a Saturday night or will it be too crowded?

Especially this time of year like most good restaurants it's a mob scene. Even with a reservation you will wait an hour.

Do they have private dining room for private party?

It's a small back room that could be a little noisy. Overall a very fun place where everyone is treated extremely well. Food is over the top great!

The two different gentlemen behind the counter who assisted me with my order (when I called for information and then when I called back to place my order) were friendly and helpful. Ordering from Amore for Christmas Eve was the best decision I made the entire holiday season! The food arrived on time, hot, and beautifully and perfectly packed, delivered by a smiling delivery kid, and (of course, most important of all!) absolutely delicious! Every bit as good as homemade - - caesar and Greek salads, penne a la vodka (fantastic), stuffed shells (gobbled right up), perfect eggplant Parm, out-of-this-world chicken francese with plenty of yummy garlic knots/bread and it came with plenty of really scrumptious mini-cannoli. I honestly cannot say enough about this catering order from Amore Pizza in East Northport. My all-Italian family was super impressed, and they don't impress easily with Italian food. And the price was really reasonable. Can't recommend highly enough. Oh yeah, and I should also mention - their pizza is great. Plain-old pizza is always great. My family-favorite is the creamy spinach which is really something special. Honestly, Amore is a gem of a place with super-great food - - the folks there are a pleasure to deal with. Completely dried out with shattering, cracker consistency crust. Inedible. I ask nicely if they could just redo them or offer two regular cheese slices if they don't have the specialty slices available. I even awkwardly apologize and say sorry to be a bother, but can we get this right? The kid behind the counter barely acknowledges me- with a scowl so big it looks as if someone just deleted his Fortnite account- he begrudgingly gives me two of the worst tasting, old slices they could find. No sorry, no thank you, no offer to just give two additional slices and let me keep the two burnt to crisp ones they would have thrown out anyway. I really don't understand what's so hard about putting the slices in the oven for 30 seconds and then taking them out instead of leaving them in for four straight minutes after the customer says " not too hot, please". Congrats on losing a long term customer.
