Overall a good experience. We had a reservation for four people on Sunday at 3pm. The restaurant is decorated nicely, and has an upscale look to it. We were a little early, so we went to the bar for a cocktail. The only negative part of our experience was the bartender ignored us for 10 minutes while telling a story to her only other customer. When we got our drinks, they were okay and not as elevated as I would hoped for. When we sat down at our table, our waiter was excellent and very friendly. He made fantastic recommendations off the menu and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I will come back as we really enjoyed the food and our waiter. A $1,400 Bill, Undisclosed Scotch Pricing, and Appalling Customer Service What began as a relaxing Friday evening with my girlfriend turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever encountered. It was a chilly evening, so I decided to enjoy a glass of Macallan Sherry Oak Scotch. The bartender was new, and we were enjoying what seemed to be a perfectly pleasant evening. That was until the bill arrived. Despite the food being mediocre at best, I was presented with an astonishing $1,400 bill. To my disbelief, the bartender had served me Scotch priced at $400 per ounce, without ever disclosing the price or even identifying the age of the Macallan she was pouring. For those unfamiliar with Macallan Sherry Oak, it is available in several age statements, with dramatically different prices. I ordered Macallan Sherry Oak. At no point did the bartender ask which age I preferred, identify the expression she intended to serve, or advise me that I was being charged $400 per ounce. Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, I find this completely unacceptable. When a customer orders a spirit available in multiple expressions, particularly one with such substantial price differences, a properly trained bartender should clarify the selection and disclose an extraordinary price before pouring. Unfortunately, the situation deteriorated further when I requested to speak with the manager, whose name I believe was Florence or Florian. Rather than addressing a legitimate concern with courtesy and professionalism, he responded with an astonishing level of rudeness, hostility, and arrogance. His confrontational attitude was entirely inappropriate, particularly toward a customer. In my 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, I have rarely encountered such an appalling display of customer service. The situation became so unpleasant that I finally handed him my credit card and told him, "You clearly need the money more than I do." Only then did he begrudgingly agree to remove the cost of one drink from the bill. While the adjustment was appreciated, it did little to excuse the lack of transparency or the disrespectful manner in which the entire situation was handled. Let me be perfectly clear: My objection was never that the restaurant serves expensive Scotch. My objection was that I ordered Macallan Sherry Oak without being told which age was being served, was never advised of the extraordinary price, and was then treated with hostility for questioning the charge. What should have been a simple opportunity for management to acknowledge a mistake and preserve a relationship with a local customer instead became an unnecessarily unpleasant confrontation. A reputable restaurant should understand that exceptional service is not merely about what is served, but how customers are treated, especially when something goes wrong. It also displays a lack of training. My recommendation is simple: Spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of establishments that understand the importance of honesty, transparency, and treating their customers with respect. No customer should be blindsided by a $400-per-ounce charge and then subjected to hostility for questioning it. Some people may not even be financially prepared to absorb such a cost. read more

The food, service and ambiance are exceptional at Manninos! The commack location is very modern, always decorated beautifully and has a huge bar on the main level with a second smaller bar upstairs. They are always packed so I recommend making a reservation. But the food is well worth the wait. I always love getting the spicy rigatoni vodka but recently, I tried the Pollo Mannino and it was incredible as expected. The dessert options are also incredible. My personal favorite is the blueberry cake and gelato but most recently when I went they had a special that was a peanut butter crunch cake, and that was to die for as well. One thing that I really love about this location is that the owner Joe is always around. I don't think I've ever been there when he wasn't walking around and he's very hands-on. read more

Well the interior restaurant is beautiful, while I was waiting for my wife to arrive, the nice looking front bar area was cool. The menu seemed to be jumping all over the place. The prices are a little over the top, $85 for a stuffed veal chop? $30 for calamari?? I have tickets for a jazz show so I want to eat and bolt. I ordered a cocktail under the $16 cocktail menu, the Old Fashioned Mannino's. Nice starter cocktail for dinner. Here's where it went a little loopy. I ordered the Monkfish special. I love Monkfish but it was served in an egg coating. Really? It's like dipping a porterhouse in chocolate. The fish was good I wouldn't order it again. Would I come back? I would. We started off with delicious grilled pulpo salad,baby artichokes,fried calamari to name a few.The birthday boy had lobster risotto..pure deliciousness & all portions were huge.I had veal dore which was melt in your mouth veal accompanied by 2 francais pieces of shrimp.Another diner had Tuna Orientale perfectly cooked & quite a few had the Frutte de Mar. The service at the bar is always top notch and the eloquent manner in which specials are told, it's apparent that quality service is a priority. I have come here a few times. It's not great but it's not bad either. Last time I came here I got the seafood tower which was super fresh and tasty. Rigatoni Ala vodka with grilled chicken. They put meat sauce in my Ala vodka. If you make a mistake at least correct it don't just serve it anyways. I thought it tasted funny but I had a little to eat there and took the rest home. Next day heating it up I noticed all the bolognese they put in it. Grossed me out. Paid over 30 bucks for that too. Won't be going back there for at least a long while. Very impressed and enjoyed my dinner here last evening very much, and I'm happy I decided to come here to experience it because before coming here, I heard mixed reviews. The place is very elegant, nice decor, friendly staff, very upscale. Clientele all dressed in suits and business attire, so dress for the Occassion of dining here. Valet parking was efficient and took care of us immeditately. Our table was ready promptly at the time of our reservation as well. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu, and she was able to take care of us with whatever we needed even if she had a full section of tables. Great job, The food also was delicious. The Cesar Salad was fresh and got rave reviews. The Salmon also was well cooked with a perfect amount of sauce. The pepperoni pizza was also delicious. I got the Ahi Tuna and it was a very generous portion and also really enjoyable. The best hit of the night was the Key Lime pie Ice cream, that was incredible. If they have it definetly get it. The Cannoli was average, that you can skip. The drinks also, well made. Dirty martini made perfectly, all enjoyed their beverages. Very pricey but very elegant. Dinner was 250 for 3 before tip. Mislead us that another order was on the way only to find out 1/2 hour later nothing had been done. A $12.00 charge just for changing sauce colors. I went with my staple the chicken mannino BUT sunday sauce is back through March! The chocolate cake, forget about it, it's a sin! So decadent with multilayers and a crunch. Between Mary and Gianna my favorite bartenders, the absolutely delicious food, and the ambiance... I don't think they could get rid of me if they tried! Valentine's Day 2025 was such a great experience here! Valet for the car, then we were seated promptly, waiting only to be checked in. Fresh Cesar salad - yumm, app of clams oreganata was delish. Dinner- the fiet tips with pasta was good (skip adding the parmesan cheese), and I had the stuffed veal cutlet which was amazing. Only disappointment was the mashed potatoes that came with my veal- flavorless and cold, but the meat was piping hot and huge. We took home half our portions. Asparagus was cooked well but plain. I have dining outdoors, on both floors, and at the oval circular bar on the first floor. My favorite place to dine when with friends is the bar, mostly because it is very cozy, and intimate. Mannino's has a traditional Italian menu with a wonderful selection of Italian pasta classics, fresh seafood dishes, veal chops, and aged steaks which I had the pleasure to enjoy most of these popular dishes on my many dining experiences at Mannino's. Mannino's also has a wine menu that should meet the standards of most customers, and the wine consumers. Their staff equipped to assist in any wine meal wine pairing as well. You start off with warm bread and olive oil. It was delicious and we could have easily dipped the bread into everything we ate. We then started with fried calamari, which the batter was so light and the seafood so fresh. We had the gnocchi, it was perfectly made and the cream was so creamy! We could not finish and we had to take it home. The shrimp oreganta was also soo delicious. The breading and spinach was delicious to eat. The table does have come with a side of potatoes, we did not try them but they were delicious. We ended things off with a light crème brûlée. We loved the presentation, make sure you have your phone ready. They do make mocktail options in case you need one. We ordered a pizza to go and our baby sitter said it was delicious! Went to Mannino's for our 10 year anniversary dinner and we were blown away by the food! Everything was so good! There was live music with a saxophone player close by that added to the good vibes around us . I was torn between the spicy rigatoni and the chicken parm, and asked our server if I can substitute the spicy sauce and rigatoni instead of spaghetti. We were a party of 7 for a birthday dinner. Our waiter was super attentive and my water glass was consistently refilled, although our waitress kept reaching over me and my plate to do so. The waitress assured us they were leaving. We ordered appetizers, and within a short period, we were surrounded by three more tables, each with young children. Out came a large laptop propped up on one table with cartoons playing. Keep in mind there is a very nice quiet room downstairs with very few tables occupied. So, without ordering dessert, we decided to leave. On my way out, I had a conversation with the manager. A small man with a thick accent. He was useless.
