We were told they had a great bingo night and fantastic food and drinks. That proved to be an excellent recommendation. The Wayward is located in the heart of the quaint village of Sayville. It is a spacious establishment with a large bar, plenty of tables as well as booth seating . We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender Brian. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food and drink choices. He took the time to note our preferences within the dishes offered. It was apparent to us that Brian and the 2nd bartender Meg were extremely hard working, friendly and efficient. We started with a few drinks. Nothing fancy. I had a rum & coke and my wife went with Prosecco. Both were good. For dinner I went with gnocchi with chicken sausage in a pink cream sauce Absolutely fantastic! The kicker was the large dollop of fresh mozzarella on top. My wife chose the Chicken Milanese with roasted potatoes . She noted that the chicken was pan seared, breaded , moist and delicious. She opted to get it without the tomatoes and onions that accompany it. The potatoes were amazing. (I snagged a few so I can confirm this!) Deliciously seasoned, crispy on the outside moist and creamy on the inside. The bingo was also great! Chris was a great host. The prizes were great , although we didn't win anything. It's cool to see how booze can help bring people together (and not just destroy). For example, an older gentleman came in and the bartender (believe his name was Jay) remembered his usual order of Heineken light and a whisky shot and had it ready quick while enjoying a shot with the patron. Perhaps we've found the fountain of youth after all.

I NEVER leave bad reviews unless they are absolutely deserved. I am well known in the Long Island Karaoke Community as I have been to a great many Karaoke bars on Long Island. The ONLY advantage that The Lizard Lounge (aka Long Island Karaoke) has over other bars is that it hosts Karaoke most nights of the week. The service is terrible, the food is non existent, the sound system has so much echo and reverb going on that it is overwhelming to listen to let alone sing with it.. Don't even get me started on the bar owner... He has poor manners, physically and verbally harassed more than just a few of my friends (one is more than enough). The drinks are WAY over priced, there are no drink specials worth mentioning and food is practically nonexistent. This bar has a lot of potential and some of the people who go there are great. Unfortunately, when you have someone like Jay (the bar owner) calling the shots and making some very big and very bad mistakes within the Karaoke Community things are bound to turn sour. It really is a shame since this bar has been around a long time and used to be a fantastic place. Things change though and I am definitely not the only one who is unhappy with what this place has become. Don't let them sell you over with 10+ year old awards, features on network T.V. from the early 2000's etc. This bar has fallen far from where it used to be and there are so many better places to sing Karaoke on Long Island than here. read more

How is this place still open!? I've given this Hell Hole it's fair chance by coming more than once just to make sure I didn't catch it on a bad night and each time was worse than the last! It's ONLY redeeming quality is the cosplay karaoke people that wander in every so often. The place is trying too desperately to look like a club and ends up looking more like a low class strip joint. I've met the owner a couple times when he jumped behind the bar and he was so brash and unfriendly I wanted to leave immediately. He sees you as a dollar sign, don't expect to be treated with respect by him no matter how much money you spend. He's also really stingey with buy backs. Buy an overpriced watered down drink or get out; conversation and enjoyment not allowed. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I've been coming here for only a few weeks but absolutely love love love it. Armondo, Fern, Jay and Kassandra are the absolute best. They have the best karaoke Wednesday thru Saturday and if you haven't been you need too. If you have been you absolutely must come back. Everyone here is amazing customers and employees alike. Everyone treats you great whether it's the first time or your millionth time. Absolutely recommend 1000% I wish I'd found this place sooner but now that I have this is where you will find me, living and loving life and music. read more

Best place for Karaoke? Maybe if you're in with the DJ or something, otherwise you'll watch the same people go up 3-4 times for every time you go up. No courtesy glass of water for designated drivers, you're still stuck blowing 3 bucks on a bottle of water like you're at a concert. Oh, and don't bother trying to get away with not drinking anything either, cuz they're rude about that too. Better off with a dive bar if you actually wanna sing at all, not be harassed, and actually be extended some courtesy. read more

I've been here for karaoke a couple of times over the years. The owner and bartenders are super friendly and engaging. The crowd is INTO the karaoke and the vibe is very warm, welcoming, and supportive. There were a good amount of people there for a Wed night in the middle of standard work week which was nice. They have console games at the bar. Being able to play Street Fighter and Mario Kart in-between karaoke songs was a lot of fun. I will definitely be returning! read more
