It's all working stiffs and a bartender named Dani who I come to find out is the owner. She knows them all and is friendly with everyone including me. The place has been around since forever. The men's pisser has a urinal that was taken out of Grand Central in the 50's. You have a pool table, multiple dart boards, a juke box, and a weathered bar that has had many people drink from it over the years. It's simple. Clean. And drink prices that aren't gonna rob ya. Every person I've chatted up in the place are % legit, solid, straight up good people. Plus live music is starting to happen. I was originally supposed to have a date that night, but let's be real: you'd think a 61-year-old man would know better than to take a 47-year-old woman to Dave & Buster's. Definitely excellent for a date night. The bartenders here are absolute rockstars. I started with a Painkiller. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they whipped it up for me anyway--and hey, it definitely relieved my pain, lol! Next, I tried a Corpse Reviver just because it had absinthe in it. It was different, but I really enjoyed it. Naturally, I had to finish with my signature drink, a Cosmopolitan, because I am the Black Carrie Bradshaw of Long Island. And it did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the overall experience was mixed. The two-hour table limit felt unnecessarily restrictive, especially for a group of eight. We were split into two separate areas of the restaurant, and there didn't seem to be much willingness to accommodate us so we could sit together. The person checking us in was not particularly welcoming, which didn't make the best first impression. What really left a bad taste, though, was the manager's explanation that the two-hour limit is necessary because "turning tables" is how the restaurant makes money. While I understand the business reasoning, hearing it explained that way made the experience feel more transactional than hospitable. The biggest issue is that the time limit actually worked against the restaurant. Rather than staying for another drink and continuing our evening there, we ended up going somewhere else. For me, that defeats the purpose of creating a nice atmosphere if guests are being encouraged to leave before they're ready. Beautiful restaurant, good service from our waitress, but the rigid seating policy and the way it was handled would make me think twice about returning.

The area in front of the stage is somewhat big for your viewing pleasure and the side stage is small. It depends on what type of music you're there for. Last night it was a heavy metal show. One guy was moshing intensely...ended up punching my friend in the face and then kicked a girl in the stomach. There was enough space in front of the stage for this not to happen. We later found out this person was part of a gang. Drinks were okay. For the first round my boyfriend got a vodka soda and I ordered a whiskey ginger. I was given a whisky sour. Didn't realize it until we left the bar that I was given the wrong drink. Bathrooms were clean. Woman's room had necessities such as lotion, some hair ties and tampons. My boyfriend said men's room wasn't as nice. I would return here...but they need better crowd control.
