Better late than never with this backdated review--life has just been lifing! I finally made it to Artemis on July 22nd after fiending to go since January. There's actually a hilarious story behind why I went. I was originally supposed to have a date that night, but let's be real: you'd think a 61-year-old man would know better than to take a 47-year-old woman to Dave & Buster's. I canceled the night before, dolled myself up the day of, and decided to take myself out instead. Best decision ever. The joint is dimly lit. But your eyes wind up adjusting. It's got a great vibe. Definitely excellent for a date night. The bartenders here are absolute rockstars. I started with a Painkiller. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they whipped it up for me anyway--and hey, it definitely relieved my pain, lol! Next, I tried a Corpse Reviver just because it had absinthe in it. It was different, but I really enjoyed it. Naturally, I had to finish with my signature drink, a Cosmopolitan, because I am the Black Carrie Bradshaw of Long Island. And it did not disappoint. The eats: I got the charcuterie board--fancy and bougie, just like me--and wrapped up the night with the brownie à la mode for dessert. Drowning my troubles in sweets is a must when the Long Island dating pool is an absolute wasteland, lmao. Did I want to spend my night around teenagers, kids, and skee-ball? HELL NO! I know this is going to sound very pretentious, but I've been to my fair share of soeakeasies from fancy to hokey. I'm happy to say Suffolk County did me proud with a pretty chic spot. An industrial door by a brick wall is guarded by someone with a headset. We gave the name for our reservation and were given instructions for what to do upon entering (see video). We were seated in a back room, sharing a longer table with another party. Again, not mad about it. It's giving intimate. They also had a pretty great nonalcoholic menu. Our server steered me in the right direction with an elderberry drink and it was so yummy I downed them. Also, hats off to Station Yards for putting this place in. Artemis is such a cool spot! Walking in and finding the secret door is half the fun. I know a lot of people say it's hard to find, but honestly I thought it was pretty straightforward, just adds to the speakeasy vibe. We made a reservation (which I highly recommend because I've heard it gets packed on weekends), and I'm glad we did. They have a pretty big drinks menu. I ordered the alcohol-free Aperol spritz and it was SO good, super refreshing and not an afterthought like some mocktails can be. The girls in my group tried a few of the specialty cocktails and some of them even came with a little show, which made it extra fun. The owner came over and chatted with us for a bit, such a nice guy and very welcoming. You can tell they really care about the experience. They did let us know that when it's busy, there's a time limit even with reservations, so just plan accordingly if you're going on a packed night. The food was also really good! I wasn't personally a huge fan of the charcuterie board, but the whipped feta dip was AMAZING, definitely order that. This is a tough review to write. Why? Because I don't want to give away the secret of this absolutely fantastic speakeasy! Artemis is for real an amazing place from start to finish with extreme focus and attention to detail in everything they do. My wife and I learned this back in early July around her birthday. For starters, Artemis holds true to wanting to create a real Speakeasy experience to the point where if there wasn't a person standing outside to check off your reservation, you might not actually find it! Once you do enter, you haven't really...well, not until you follow some instructions to get into the speakeasy. If that's cryptic, good! Go see for yourself! When you do step into the main bar area, it does feel like you're taken back to a different place and time. The aesthetics are incredible with the vibe never feeling pretentious but rather classically warm, in a secretive speakeasy sort of way. Once seated, my wife and I were treated with some impeccable service from our waiter as well as a few other staff members. Making you feel welcome is definitely in the DNA of this place and that showed all the way to the end (more on that in a sec). First, we ordered up a couple of delicious drinks from Artemis's menu. I had the South Bay Sazerac which was perfectly mixed as it tasted flavorfully strong but with no alcohol bite. My wife got the Pychee which had a nice sweet zing and came with a couple of candies to top it off. You expect a Speakeasy to know how to mix a drink and that was definitely the case here. But what was great about Artemis was that it didn't stop at the drinks. Though not a place for a true dinner, Artemis has a nice selection of varying bites to eat which we decided to sample. Keeping things light at what was a slightly later hour we chose to have the popcorn and the olive salad. They sound simple (and they were), but both hit the spot, especially the variety of olives (and feta/cucumber) thrown into it. Top this off with a complimentary brownie/ice cream (which was warm and delicious) for my wife's birthday and you really get those feels from start to finish. Overall, I'd gladly return to Artemis over and over again. Now that I can locate where the space is and I understand its entry process, I know that this won't take away from the fun way of getting in because once you time travel back to this interior, you'll be in a world of fine drinks, great bites, and service that works hard and wants you to understand what this place is all about. Our plan was to stop by and have a drink before heading off to dinner, but as soon as we sat down and got our first drinks, that plan changed. The new Station Yards has lots of cool options, and a parking garage that is free for up to three hours to make a visit easy. In true speakeasy fashion, Artemis has minimal signage and is off the beaten path. Half the fun is finding it and getting in, so I won't spoil that for you. If you get spun around, theirs security easy to find who can help direct you. Once you get in, theirs decor is gorgeous and chic - comfy leather seats, fancy ceiling and walls. It's dimly lit, so you may need your cell phone flashlight to read the menu. The staff and GM are amazing, made our visit (with members) such a delight. Food options are great, with more coming! Definitely cool vibes here. The decor is beautiful and eclectic. I'd say it's good for a date night or a special occasion. I came with a party of 6 on a Saturday night so our reservations were for 2 hours and 15 minutes and they certainly don't let you forget that. The amount of times they kept telling us when our time would be up was a little annoying. Everybody was very friendly but tell us to gtfo without telling us. Anyway, I started with the beet the blues drink-it had blackberry whiskey and beet root juice-it was unique and quite tasty. My second drink was pretty generic-it was the aviation which had gin but nothing special. The table split the Caesar salad flatbread, empanadas and the burrata for dinner and the s'mores tart for dessert. The flatbread was annoying to eat-it was a mound of lettuce on top of a flatbread and very difficult to eat on the low tables, just messy and honestly tasted like bagged Caesar salad from the supermarket so I would skip that. The empanadas were also nothing special but the burrata was very good. It was creamy and garlicky served with some crostini. The s'mores tart had a lot of flavor as well. One of the others got this 'famous' $42 espresso martini that was supposed to come in a dome with smoke or some kind of spectacle-well their smoker was not working so it was a basic drink-still for $42. I tried it-it was good but don't get crazy now, it's a generic martini. I guess the price is more for the spectacle which we didn't get so I agree with others that this specific drink is wildly overpriced. Def some pros and cons here but I'll just say again-cool vibe and friendly staff for sure-hit or miss on the drinks and food though! read more

Went here for date night on Friday and it really exceeded our expectations. It's a very cute, cozy and intimate speakeasy vibe. I recommend reservations but it never felt cramped or overcrowded. Everyone from the front door to the waitress and bar staff were so friendly and accommodating. Even though we'd were deep in convo we were checked in on a healthy amount of times and never had to look or wait for our server at any point. The drinks were really good! All fresh ingredients and very strong but tasty. I thought the prices were fair and similar to any other lounge/bar anywhere in LI or the city. The food is more tapas style but there is lots of choices so there's probably some there for everyone. I had the Empanadas and they were tasty. I came here last night for the first time, to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday with 2 very close friends. Everything exceeded ALL EXPECTATIONS, the food was a perfect 10 , incredible burrata platter, rice balls so crispy and flavorful my only wish was i had ordered two , BETTER than any Italian restaurant. The steak sandwich was so tender i barely needed to chew it melted in my mouth like a filet from Peter Lugar, and the short rib , WOW !! The drinks were spectacular and last but not least, our waitress, attentive, friendly and offered suggestions that were all spot on , they even remembered my wife's special occasion and brought out a beautiful dessert with a candle to mark the celebration, and NO CHARGE, , something that has become rate in most restaurants but this effort alone will keep us coming back and sharing our experience with friends and family. This is not so much a review but a response to the owner who responded to my review. I complained about the pour i received at Artemis. His response is the average pour is 5 ounces i believe. That is correct. However i didn't get five. I think it was borderline 3-1/2 at best. Thats me being generous. I don't care about the price. But fair is fair.
