For the two of us, we definitely spoiled ourselves for dinner. We ordered focaccia, the Insalata Ghibellina aka lettuce salad with pumpkin seeds, as well as Negroni cocktails. And then we also shared the grilled artichoke (Carciofi allá Piastra) with our pasta dishes. I got the pasta special, which was pumpkin ravioli in a sage butter sauce, and that came with parmesan on the side without me even needing to ask for it. My husband got the pistachio ravioli (Cappellacci al Pistacchio). I loved my dish, and his was not bad either, but his was definitely heavier than mine. I'm sad that mine was only a seasonal special, because I would definitely go back to eat it many more times. For dessert, we ordered the Dolcetti e Vin Brulé Freddo) which was nice and not too heavy. They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Extremely Disappointed…read more I hosted my daughter's baby shower at The Piermont, and what should have been a wonderful morning started with us spending approximately 2 1/2 hours cleaning the venue ourselves. When we arrived, the room was already set, but the tablecloths throughout the room were stained and dirty, approximately 80 chairs were visibly dirty, and the bathrooms were not clean. We ended up finding cleaning supplies, scrubbing the chairs ourselves, changing linens and resetting tables before our guests arrived. I have numerous photos documenting the condition we found everything in. Victor, the maître d', arrived around 10:45, with the party starting at noon, and said the room was going to be cleaned when they arrived. Given the amount of cleaning required, I cannot imagine how that would have been accomplished in time had we not already spent hours doing it ourselves. I do want to recognize Jackie, who was lovely throughout the booking process, Josh, who tried his best to help us that morning, Jonathan, the GM, who came to address the situation, and our waitstaff, who were outstanding. Thanks to our decorating and everyone's efforts, my daughter's shower ultimately turned out beautiful. Unfortunately, my conversation afterward with the owner, Steve, made the situation even worse. He minimized my complaint as being about "dirty linens" and then accused me of "harassing his staff for two weeks," which I completely dispute. I expected concern and accountability--not accusations. This was my daughter's baby shower, a once-in-a-lifetime event. We paid for a professional venue; we should never have had to become the cleaning crew. A beautiful waterfront location does not make up for a lack of cleanliness, preparation and accountability.
