This was the black bass (I think)

Food was excellent. I got the sea bass. It was tender and buttery. Service was quick and efficient. Atmosphere was cozy. Server brought over a little appetizer on the house which was also excellent.

First time at this establishment. Very loud at the entrance and bar area. A lot of shouting. Could barely hear or have a conversation without yelling. But was seated in the back area. Much quieter and very nice space. The food selection was amazing and lots to choose from. The tuna tartare was excellent as the Thai calamari as well. Oysters delicious. My husband ordered the branzino very tasty. I had the surf and turf, shrimp pasta and skirt steak. Also a great choice. He portions are generous. Could not say anything about the drinks because Dry January for us. But will definitely will go back and try a few.

Enjoyed a birthday dinner for a friend. Nice atmosphere, helpful waiter, and fantastic drinks!! Everyone enjoyed the charcuterie and salads topped with additional grilled shrimp and steak. Steak made great left overs. A nice social environment for celebrations!

Started off at another restaurant but got to it and they said they weren't opening cause they didn't have enough staff so we came over to The Argyle and it was amazing! I only took a pick of my meal but we also had hamburgers, salmon and I had the Halibut which was one of the specials. Omg! It was amazing!!! I ate every last bite of everything on my plate!!! There was a lobster risotto and mushrooms with it!

Not sure why this place is rated as low as it is. Came here for a ladies night with my aunt and cousin. We came on a Saturday night around 8:30pm and we were told it was a 20-25min wait. Hostess was extremely sweet and greeted us with a smile. The wait was not a problem for us, we grabbed a drink at the bar. Prices were very reasonable, and the wine was a generous pour. The bartender, Joe was outstanding! Personable, funny, and even gave my aunt napkins when she started sneezing out of nowhere... I would come back just to sit at the bar when he was there! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Music was on, but not too loud, and I am never bothered by noise created by people having a good night. They also had 2 TVs, each showing the NY hockey games (one had the Rangers, one had the islanders). The food all around was FANTASTIC. The clam chowder bowl was the appetizer! I thought it would have been a cup! The Portobello stack was AMAZING. Even my aunt who doesn't like portobello enjoyed her bite she took. My aunt and cousin both enjoyed their entrees as well - very generous portions. Our server, Annabella was superb. Attentive, made good suggestions, and very friendly. I will definitely return the next time I come to visit my family! Edited: We went to go bar hopping and we weren't impressed, so we came back to see Joe, and he was so excited to see us back! We were served by both him and Arthur, who was equally amazing, personable, and because the crowd had settled a bit, was able to chat a bit. Absolutely a place I will return to!

This was my first time here, all i can say is wow. Food was absolutely amazing and so was the staff as well! The food came out so hot and pretty quick, i was shocked since every table was filled. The staff was so attentive, not even just the waiters but the food runners as well. I believe it was the manager Joe who came to our table twice to make sure our experience was perfect and it was. Not sure what was better the food or the staff. The restaurant was so clean and great for date night. We definitely will return again.

The Brixton - Hummus

Brixton - Babylon, NY…read more My friend and I visited Brixton on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful experience. The small plates were thoughtfully prepared, the cocktails were creative and well balanced, and the staff was attentive and clearly hardworking. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy good food and drinks. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend

It is easy to be enveloped by the plethora of great…read morerestaurants in the competitive nature that is NYC, but when you venture all the way out here to Babylon, NY, you have to change that mindset a bit. The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.

The Piermont - Seafood stand

"I see her on the freeway Long Island Expressway…read moreHey, give me a break, baby Help me get out of this rain" (Rolling Stones) I just attended a wedding here, and I honestly can't imagine any aspect of the experience that could have been improved. It was that good. The wedding ceremony took place outside, where rows of chairs were set up and we all had gorgeous waterfront views. After the ceremony, we walked into the building's first floor for the cocktail hour. Simply put, the food was amazing. The cocktail hour alone could have served as a meal. There was a big central charcuterie station of cold appetizers - think meats, cheeses, fruits, and crudities. The four corners of the room each housed a food station - a carving station, sushi/sashimi, pasta, and Asian stir fry. Oh, and there were tons of butler service passed hors oeuvres too. Next, we walked upstairs to the large ballroom for the main meal. Dinner service started with a "Burrata Caprese" salad with a big hunk of creamy mozzarella served in a dressed salad with grilled bread. As for the dinner entrees, would you believe a choice of SEVEN entrees?? I kid you not -- seven entrees - Branzino, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, Surf and Turf, and eggplant. My table had just about all of the choices, and everything disappeared. After the meal, there was an apple tart with ice cream and wedding cake. All of the people I interacted with, the hosts, the bartenders, the servers and the clearers were super polite and friendly. When I think about the decor, the scenery, the food, and the service, this was a top-notch experience, Well done, Piermont.

When we arrived we enjoyed specialists drinks, appetizers, and a solo musician on the main floor. There were so many different and fun small plates constantly passed around from mini fish tacos, crab crakes, bruschetta, to fried ravioli. They had hot carving stations and a pasta bar. We were then moved upstairs for the main reception event and dinner. It was a huge wedding party and all of the guests fit comfortably. The decorations were perfection and all of the servers and bartenders were attentive and nice. It was a blast and the staff at Piermont helped make it a success. If you are thinking of this location for your future wedding or reception, I 10/10 recommend the Piermont.

Chinese or Asian fusion? We just had that the other day. Diner? Nah. My daughter remembered Post Office Cafe and we went. It was very loud in the front and we almost walked out but figured we'd give it a try. They seated us way in the back (I had no idea this place was so huge!) where it was quieter. I ordered a chicken salad of some kind with avocado and salad. My son ordered the mac and cheese - it was the highlight of dinner! Absolutely delicious. His friend got the Thai calamari which was decent until he got to the bottom. It was soaked in seasoning and too sweet. My daughter got the buttered pasta - children's portion. I'll let the photo speak for itself. It was drenched in butter. On the bright side - service was great, most of the meals were excellent, waffle fries on point. I mentioned the pasta and showed our server the pool of butter. He took it off our bill without even asking. So ... 4 stars - 5 stars for local business service and just lost the one star for the less than stellar meal and app. Will probably be back!

Finally a date night with NO KIDS!!…read more As I've reviewed in the past, The Villager is a great place for parents who like good beer and good food but also have to bring their kids with them lol. However, if you can steal away for two hours, this is also a great date spot. The music was from my generation so I was confused why it was so loud? This was my first clue that I am officially old. But that is a me problem not them. We always order the wings (top 5 on the entire island) and the Gouda fries are unparalleled! My husband ordered the gyro. Bold move ordering a cultural dish from non Greeks. He said it was really good! I like that it came on a round instead of a pocket. It gave a quesadillas feel. His only suggestion was to put the siracha on the side since that's not a traditional gyro ingredient. On another bold move, I ordered the Ramen and added braised short ribs. Wow!! I don't know who they have cooking in the back making these authentic meals but this was some of the best Ramen I've ever had. The flavors were so good and the eggs was cooked to perfection (not too runny but not over cooked). Our waitress was very nice as well. It was busy but I never felt like we had to wait long for her attention. 10/10 as always! Reliable top quality with an ever changing beer menu.
