We were looking for a place to eat before going to a concert and decided on The Argyle. I think this was my second time here because I remembered the watermelon martini so I ordered that again. I loved it! I remember it being in a larger glass years ago but oh well, I ended up ordering 2! Our waiter was extremely nice and personable. The restaurant itself was nice as well but unbelievably loud! Loud music and loud talking because people couldn't hear each other over the music. I started with a mango jicama salad from the specials menu, it was delicious, I definitely recommend it and I hope they still have it if I ever get back that way. I also ordered another appetizer for my dinner, mediterranean flatbread. It was mid. The toppings were good but the bread didn't seem fresh. Not a deterrent for a future visit though. I'll hopefully be back, there are so many interesting things on the menu and i definitely have to try some of the other drinks. read more

First visit to The Argyle since new management . I noticed a difference immediately . The service was top notch. Managers were around making sure everyone was pleased without being obtrusive. The food quality was elevated as well. The burger is legit. No gristle in the beef, fresh buns, crisp bacon and the right amount of cheese, not too much , not to light. Truffle fries were very good , could have used a bit more truffle. The skirt steak was pretty good. Little chewy but had a good charred flavor. Would return , especially for the burger. read more

I had a delicious dinner, from appetizer to dessert. My server, Holly, assisted me with menu selections and was wonderful and friendly. She treated me like a VIP. The menu is eclectic: everything from Fried Goat Cheese to Spicy Stuffed Rigatoni to Parm Truffle Fries. I ordered the Au Poivre Skewers and Taste of Long Island Oysters as appetizers. For a cocktail, I had an Old Fashioned made with Woodford Reserve. For dessert, I had the Chocolate Dubai Martini. The Au Poivre Sauce was on par with any steakhouse in NYC, the oysters tasted fresh caught, the Old Fashioned was magnificent with Bourbon Cherries, and the Dubai Martini (a dessert, not a cocktail) was rich and chocolatey. The food and drink are a little pricey for what you get, but that is the story with most restaurants these days. The crowd was a little noisy. First time at this establishment. Very loud at the entrance and bar area. A lot of shouting. Could barely hear or have a conversation without yelling. But was seated in the back area. Much quieter and very nice space. The food selection was amazing and lots to choose from. The tuna tartare was excellent as the Thai calamari as well. Oysters delicious. My husband ordered the branzino very tasty. I had the surf and turf, shrimp pasta and skirt steak. Also a great choice. He portions are generous. Could not say anything about the drinks because Dry January for us. But will definitely will go back and try a few. read more

Another win in the village with this one! So happy this place opened back up. Came with another couple so I didn't get any pix but this place is a must try! I had a few cosmos to drink and the waitress bought us a round because one of the rounds took awhile-that was super nice of her! She was great, very friendly and accommodating to our party that a nut allergy in it. We split the beef Wellington bites, lobster grilled cheese and the fried artichokes for apps and they were all very unique and delicious. The Wellington was more of a short rib style. For the entree I went with the surf and turf pasta which was a very generous portion size. The skirt steak was very tender and juicy & you could tell the pasta was fresh. I also sampled my boyfriend's black sea bass as I've never had that before and I thought it was very good. I got the Dubai affogato for dessert but that was a miss for me, I didn't love it. Started off at another restaurant but got to it and they said they weren't opening cause they didn't have enough staff so we came over to The Argyle and it was amazing! Not sure why this place is rated as low as it is. Came here for a ladies night with my aunt and cousin. We came on a Saturday night around 8:30pm and we were told it was a 20-25min wait. Hostess was extremely sweet and greeted us with a smile. The wait was not a problem for us, we grabbed a drink at the bar. Prices were very reasonable, and the wine was a generous pour. The bartender, Joe was outstanding! Personable, funny, and even gave my aunt napkins when she started sneezing out of nowhere... I would come back just to sit at the bar when he was there! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Music was on, but not too loud, and I am never bothered by noise created by people having a good night. They also had 2 TVs, each showing the NY hockey games (one had the Rangers, one had the islanders). The food all around was FANTASTIC. The clam chowder bowl was the appetizer! I thought it would have been a cup! The Portobello stack was AMAZING. Even my aunt who doesn't like portobello enjoyed her bite she took. My aunt and cousin both enjoyed their entrees as well - very generous portions. Our server, Annabella was superb. Attentive, made good suggestions, and very friendly. The place is such a classy looking restaurant. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Especially our waiter Vinny. He made the whole experience enjoyable. We hade the prix fix with the Thai chili calamari and the stuffed rigatoni, both delicious . The calamari was the lightest and tastiest I've ever had. For the main course we did the chicken and eggplant, which was also delicious and the short ribs. They were so tender and flavorful with amazing mashed potatoes Tiramisu for dessert completed the meal.So much food we had multiple dishes to bring home. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Ive been a patron of the argyle for years. It was a go to spot in the village But I returned yesterday. The scapps were. Removed from the menu ??? So we had some apps Calamari was chewy. Not good. Meatballs tasted like dog food. Ribs. Were tuff. And didnt smell right. There was another app with mozzarella but i didnt. Taste it. The drinks. Omg $18 for dewars on rocks at happy hour. They also removed the wings. Replaced with mickey D s boneless wings. Wth Sadly i wont be going back anymore The group has ruined the places it has taken over oh well. This was my first time here, all i can say is wow. Food was absolutely amazing and so was the staff as well! The food came out so hot and pretty quick, i was shocked since every table was filled. The staff was so attentive, not even just the waiters but the food runners as well. I believe it was the manager Joe who came to our table twice to make sure our experience was perfect and it was. Wow! This was my second visit and everything was so amazing both times. First a shout out to Jay at the bar, so quick and friendly. Must try the crab cake, this isn't a little fried cake, it's a pile of amazing crab meat. The lobster bisque is also incredible and I'm still thinking about the pile of butter poached lobster on top. Must try entrees are the halibut and lobster pasta. Both amazing! This exciting menu is exactly what Babylon Village needed!! Service is also second to none!! My wife and I have been back to the Argyle under new ownership and we absolutely loved our experience. We were so happy to hear the Argyle was staying as it is a classic in Babylon, and brings back great memories for us. We appreciated that there was little updates but overall still the same aesthetic we have always known and loved. Our food was delicious, we went back within a week for that French opinion soup and Lobster bisque! I got the burger, one of the best I've had. My wife got the salmon and loved it. I have now been to this establishment 3 times since their new ownership and have been nothing but impressed! Weather I've been there as a party of 2 or 8 the service is fantastic and the servers and bartenders are get accommodating! The drinks are absolutely scrumptious I got a dirty martini (with blue cheese olives nice touch) and an espresso martini that was picture worthy! As far as the food goes it simply keeps getting better the oyster supreme, crab cake, coconut shrimp, and bacon wrapped scallops are a must! Kept everyone at the table very happy. As for the entrees the short rib was out of this world! The skirt steak was cooked to perfection and don't forget to check out the weekly specials as well! Growing up in Babylon the Argyle's a staple. Always a great bar crowd with the best cocktails. Their food is also amazing. We went for lunch today and started with the king pow shrimp and calamari over soba noodles. Always delicious. We also got the goat cheese salads with skirt steak on top. Very yummy. Their watermelon martinis are a must try! Everything was good but the service was not it today. Our dude Matt must have went on a long break or just went home cause 35 minutes he never came back lol I got up looking for him and a female server came over to help us. This is not our first visit to Argyle. We stopped in on a Monday night and were promptly seated. We ordered the Monday $10 burger and a quesadilla. Our food was very tasty and came with a wonderful presentation. The food tasted very good and was of proper temperature Etc. The desert selection is very nice also. We chose the red velvet cake which was delicious. So all in all the food is a five star worthy visit. Where it all falls to SxxT is Margo the waitress. I might have to call the board of labor and have them investigate whether she is suffering forced labor. She was the most cold, impersonal waitress possible. No introduction, no interaction, just the facts. Maybe her entire family abandoned her recently and she is devastated but she is not my candidate for waitress of the year. In 2023 I guess some people do not value a personal touch and some friendly interaction. Hey, maybe even a smile? For this she was tipped appropriately. If we go back hopefully Margo will have found a career more fitting her personality, or lack thereof. read more
