We weren't pressured to order food. I got the adventure consultants as a mezcal lover, and really enjoyed the milkiness of it when I normally don't like milky drinks. Went there again for the second time with the party of 14 for my wife's birthday the service the food atmosphere was all out outstanding!! unbeknownst to me or anyone at the table, including my wife they made a homemade birthday cake that was gluten-free and not free. I thought that was super special and that they went above and beyond and all I did was mention that it was my birthday when I called like a reservation. It's that kind of service in this day and age places like this apart. Food is fun and interesting and delicious and the drinks all the drinks. We love this place. Kudos to our waitress, just Jessica. She did an outstanding job waiting on 14 people without missing a beat. Love this place not sure why there's bad reviews. If you are not into the unique experience just don't go. Atmosphere: Saturday night ..music was over the top loud so patrons had to yell to hear each other...waitress was asked to lower the music which she obliged but it was still loud for this pretty small place Tables too crowded together. Service: waitress was excellent...she was the only one taking orders but she was not riled at all...and attentive. Limited food menu... Burger was good and so were the onion rings and French fries. Second time here and it just keeps getting better. The poutine was awesome--the fries were loaded with gravy and cheese but still had that perfect crunch. Seemed like a cool spot with cool drinks and food so we stopped into check it out. The space itself was amazing to look at, it even had a Photo Booth. I could see their vision immediately. Drink menu was as eclectic as the decor but not fairly balanced. 1/2 the menu was Old Fashions and the others were well curated but extremely tequila heavy. Im usually a vodka drinker when I go out but the more interesting drinks were the Old Fashions and the ones with tequila so I chose the most fabulous sounding drink on the menu which was called Reflections of Natural History (their version of a spicy strawberry margarita) I liked it, I didn't love it. I wasn't getting strawberry at all and was disappointed because the ingredient was supposed to be a fermented strawberry which I was looking forward to. Let's move on to the food. Again, on paper, eclectic and intriguing in theory but a little different in practice. We ordered the toast with peaches and ricotta, it had a nice smoky flavor but the peaches were not ripe so had no taste and the chili part was missing. It would have been perfect had the peaches and chili been right and where was the honey? We also ordered the empanadas which were ok, nothing special, and the zucchini. The zucchini, I don't know what they were thinking, it was just slightly grilled zucchini with a few tomatoes & onions with some whipped ricotta on the plate. The zucchini pissed me off a little bit because I could have thrown some zucchini in my air fryer and it would have been better than that. I can't believe we paid for that. This place has so much potential because it can be a whole vibe but the food needs work. They can keep the menu as is but they need to upgrade their ingredients in a major way. read more

I attended Hunter & Thief's Spooky Paint Night on the second evening they hosted it. I was able to get 4 of my friends to join me as we had seen this trend on the internet and were interested in checking out this new establishment for some Halloween fun. I RSVP'd on Instagram via messenger and they were quick to reply. We did not have to pay the $50 ahead of time. They also called me the day before to confirm our attendance. We were very excited. Upon arriving I spoke to the man at the hostess station (I think he's the owner I'm unsure) and I said we were here for the Spooky Paint Night for a party of 5. The man acted all confused as if there wasn't a spooky paint night happening that evening, when behind him I can see all the artwork and the paint. I laughed it off because I knew he was making a joke but he continued to tell me that there was indeed no spooky paint night that evening. At this point we almost turned around because we hadn't given them any money yet, and honestly, we should have left. He eventually dropped his charade and told us to pick a thrifted piece of art to use as our canvases and find a place to sit. We had arrived on time and at this point the entire establishment was almost full. We assumed that since we had booked as a party of 5 that they would have reserved a table for us, but no. When we asked the same man said "You guys can all sit at the bar if you want". I took it into my own hands to ask the other customers if they could adjust their seating to accommodate my party which they graciously did, with no help to the employee that kept giving us attitude. This was the SECOND time they were doing this paint event and it was so chaotic. The station where we got our paint was not lit and we were using our cell phone flashlights to see what colors we were picking. There was also a child (maybe around 6-8 years old, I think an employee's child) at the paint station refusing to move shouting "This is my table!". We worked around him. In addition the instructor spent almost an hour to CUT all of the thrifted artwork out of their frames. The instructor seemed surprised that a majority of us started painting without his direction. They also were playing what could be compared to elevator music. My friend asked the same employee if they could put on Monster Mash to which he replied "Only if you can name the artist". At this point my other friend had about had it with his attitude and told him to stop mansplaining and just to play the damn song. The mood of the whole place lifted with the fun themed music we suggested. Also the cocktails did not have much variety. Everything was an old fashioned or a tequila based drink. No good options for vodka or rum. And you would have thought they would have had a small Halloween themed menu for the evening. You would think for the $250 PLUS TIP we paid we would have had a better experience. We were overall so disappointed and we will not be back. read more

We are in Lindy and Hunter and thief has NEVER let us down. They are Easily the best cocktails on the south shore and I mean it if you're into mixology, THE BEST. They know what they're doing and appreciate the art of cocktails; it's not a front or fad. The owner has a well known reputation in competitions and is familiar with spots like death and co. etc. not to mention serves drinks by well known bartending gods such as the Jeffrey Morgenthaler. Anyways I drank a few old fashioned variations, especially the milk and honey WOW. The their amazing BUTTERBEER, as a die hard potter fan, it truly is an amazing version of universals. My husband had their classic natural history, and it always tastes like an upper class margarita. Not to mention he switched to their mystery beers which were so fun and different! Lastly the food has been upgraded.They have their own version of what feels like a classic Italian carbonara with guancaile in egg yolk. It's truly amazing and one of my husband's favorite plates since we visited Italy in 2022. I couldn't be happier we stuck with being local for our 3 year wedding anniversary, almost went to the green door... But MAN IM HAPPY WE DIDNT. In comparison Hunter and thief are far superior. Came back for another round on a Wednesday night for dinner, and somehow managed to be even more impressed than I was the first time! I had made reservations, but they weren't needed plenty of tables to choose from, although we were only a party of two. Decided to go for the fried chicken sandwich this time after seeing my friends get the delicious looking meal last time. It tastes just as good as it looks and is as fresh as can be, and they do not skimp on your chicken! Also got the extra fancy old fashioned this time to go with it and was pleased with the choice. Music choice the whole time was exactly my vibe, emo and pop punk, even from some LI native bands had me hankering for a karaoke night. But the volume was perfect for it, didn't have to yell or strain to hear to talk to my date, which plenty of places could certainly learn from H&T! Wow the place has such a hipster vibe to it from the moment you walk right thru the wooden front doors to the fire place in the back which by the way is such an elegant touch imo. So we were seated right away despite it being pretty busy and we started off with drinks i had the milk and honey old fashion which i was told was one of their most popular old fashion they have even tho they had so many different versions of it, The Wife had a passion fruit Negroni and it was remarkable. We enjoyed those drinks until it was time to put in our order the menu was small but had great options, let's remember this is not a restaurant but a cocktail bar so most of the food is a little on the lighter side. The wife ordered a Cesar kale salad and i took a stab at their chopped cheese with their homemade potato chips with a side of sour cream and onion dipped all made fresh and in house, everything we ate was great i couldn't help but want to get another chopped cheese lol but i controlled my urges. I highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a relaxed/ lounge feel to come give it a try you wont be disappointed. We sure weren't!! Also the prices are very reasonable so enjoy!!! This poor place took forever to open, and I hope for the sake of the owner that they are very successful, and last a very long time in our town. I love the eclectic Decour, and the set up of the entire place. They have tables, bar, seating, and window seating. We chose to sit at the bar on a Friday night because we like the experience of interacting with the bartender. Unfortunately, we did not find the mixologist to be all that friendly in this establishment, and the hostess wasn't willing to ask someone to move over so that we can sit The owner, thankfully did come over and take care of that for us and we were able to fit in just fine. The drinks are excellent. Well crafted. They do have a local brewery on top. Actually, I think it's cans not on top because they drop fresh cans off while we were sitting there, their food menu is minimal but definitely constructed with thought. We didn't plan on eating, but decided to try the regard to toast and it had fresh peaches on top. It was absolutely delicious. There are a few items on the menu that I would like to go back and try perhaps this time I'll sit at a table and see the difference. Overall a good experience. read more

I really enjoy this place and think it's a fantastic addition to Lindenhurst! I've been twice for drinks and apps. First time with my girlfriend for wine and we had the ricotta peach toast. It was fantastic. The second time I went with my boy friend and tried a cocktail similar to a margarita. It was the waitresses recommendation as I was undecided. On the menu it is called Holy something (I forget the full name) but so good! We also got the homemade potato chips with a homemade sour cream and onion dip. Delicious! The vibe is chill. This is one of the best bars in this location. It has an awesome vibe, a bit of 00's indie rock band nostalgia. The drinks are superb. I am a picky person and I love this place and the owner is there and greets everyone and is very attentive. The food is equally amazing. If you want to vibe out, listen to good music, be able to have a conversation with the person you came to bar with or just come solo and hang and drink and listen good music, this place is for you.
