My fiancé and I came here for lunch after our original choice was closed for a private event. We were the only ones there and it did take some time for our appetizer to come out. We had fried cheese which was described as "Crispy, Halloumi-Style Queso Freir, Topped with Tomato, Jalapeños, & Hot Agave." It was good, but not "blow me away" good. It came with 4 pieces, so not really enough to share with a large group. For my tacos I had the crispy pumpkin, sesame chicken and spicy pork. Out of the 3, the crispy pumpkin was my favorite. The sesame chicken and spicy pork were "basic" speciality tacos and nothing about them really set them apart from other establishments offering the same. The crispy pumpkin though...so unique and had great flavor. My fiancé had Ruby's signature bowl and added chorizo. He enjoyed it and it was a very generous portion. Service was decent. read more

I don't say this too often, but Ruby Soho's is perfection! From the staff being awesome, Chris and Caitlin ((hope that's the way she spells it)) were beyond nice and professional. Always checking to see if our glasses needed to be filled or just seeing if we were still vibing. The music played is my type of tunes. Punk, Rock, and Emo... How could you go wrong?? Also the deco is raw, edgy and yet still welcoming. Surly a place you could chill for hours. They have a wide selection of beers on tap, and specialty drinks. And the food.. The food is of 5star quality. The shredded beef taco was seriously one of the best tacos I have ever had the pleasure of eating and the fried pickled jalapeños were surprisingly amazing. I agree with the other five-star reviews. Ruby Soho's is perfection! Where else can you feed a party of 4 with appetizers, drinks, and full meals for under $75? The staff was awesome. The decor is eclectic but not over the top. I loved the woodwork, especially the beautifully crafted tables. The food is the reason for the five stars. OMG. I've never had such delish guac. The tacos are creative and fun. We ordered a ton of them- from the ground beef to the cauliflower, even the green machine (my fave). Overall, a fun and yum time was had by all. There was 1 server for the entire place and Nick was amazing - he kept checking in to make sure we were good. We were planning on going to the Irish pub next door but we just happened to park on the street out front....lucky day, nice place very cool atmosphere, cool tunes a la lost in translation, ample seating at the bar. Love that HH starts at lunch time haha for all you work from home peeps- def the place to pass by for an extended lunch lol Service is great. It's a really chill, calm vibe here. I've been here a few times at this point and music is hit or miss. I believe someone plugs in their phone for music so vibes really depend on who's behind the bar and also quality of drinks. I would say that the reason for my 3.5 borderline 4 experience is the inconsistency in how well the drinks are made and my preferred music choices lol other than that DEF come for the food! Heard about it so I decided to go with the wife on a Friday night. Not bad at all. Reminded me of a "hip" spot in Astoria...just a slightly older crowd. Place is small but nice and the waitress was awesome. The wife and I tried some of their margaritas which were good (roughly around 13 each). We also tried the tacos and guac. Both were good but the guac is a tad pricey (14). It's a nice little addition to the ever growing wellwood avenue. This review is going to be a big Thank You note to Ruby's, its staff, and its patrons. I moved to the area from the West Coast last year, and stumbled into Ruby's one Taco Tuesday because I was staying nearby. It was pretty quiet so I mostly chatted with the bartender trying to learn about the area. She couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming, so I started coming in more often. Fast forward a few weeks, and I came in on a slammed Saturday night. I was sitting by myself having an awesome spicy marg when a couple regulars started talking to me. Since that night Ruby's quickly became a home away from home. It's now been about a year since I first wandered in, and almost every friend I've made here either works there or is a regular. It's always good when your Birthday falls on the weekend, like mine did this year. My wife and I we're going out to celebrate and the place we started was Ruby Soho's, a new place in our revitalized downtown neighborhood here in Lindenhurst. It was great. It was a Saturday night so the place was buzzing, but not a mosh pit. Good selection of tequilas, prompt service and the food is reasonably priced and a good selection for our vegetarian tastes. It was our starting point for a great night out in Lindy. My only hope would be for better brand of house tequila, It's nice when basic drink is still tasty and doesn't require an upgrade. I ordered the fried shrimp and the simmered pork. Both delicious. Chicken Taco was so good, only complaint was the bacon definitely wasn't fresh, it was really really crunch, but because it was a little stale. We were sat quickly and our drink orders taken quickly but then we waited a loooong time before our drinks came. It wasn't busy when we were there so there really wasn't a reason for it. Our food took forever to get as well. We got chips and salsa as an app and were given a tiny single serve sized cup of salsa. We asked for more salsa and found out when the bill came we were charged a dollar for it. Lol Tacos were 6.50 each but we went during happy hour so they were 5.00 each. That was cool. Visited Ruby SoHo's on a whim on Saturday evening and was not disappointed. You can never go wrong with Margaritas & tacos and as a vegetarian I was happy to see they had a good amount of options. I ordered the Ruby Burrito with Beyond Meat and my husband ordered 3 veggie tacos; Vegan green machine, braised jackfruit fruit & crispy pumpkin. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend the burrito and the braised jackfruit. The service was good and everything was brought within a reasonable time too for a Saturday evening. The most we waited was 10 mins for food We both ordered margaritas and found them to be on the stronger side which we didn't mind. The stars are for the food. I really liked the shrimp taco, my friend loved the jackfruit. I like that they have multiple plant based options. The tacos are served on flour tortillas and small in size but the flavor was definitely there, good guacamole. My spicy margarita was SPICY, I liked it a lot. The vibe is cute, I went over the weekend and it wasn't too busy, loud music, soft lighting. I just wish our server was more attentive, we had to ask for napkins and waters and got a chilly response when we did. Also we were given the wrong check (like double what our check would have been) and got a weird vibe when we pointed it out. I'd go back for the food but probably on a weekday. read more

WARNING: To any patrons here paying with a credit card, I suggest you save your receipt and check it against your credit card bill to make sure you weren't robbed like we were. My first visit their was for a Bday party in Feb '23. As the attached reflects, the receipt was for $146.13 and clearly stated that a 20% tip was included. However, my March statement reflected a $169.40 charge! I took the copies you see below to the restaurant, left my contact info, and was told it would be taken care of.
