establishment OK, I can't even begin to tell you when an amazing experience we had when we came to your establishment today. The ditch in your Bayshore location as me and my bride. Robin entered the building it's Memorial Day and there was just a three top there so when we walked in, Joe was attending to the people at his top but when he saw us, he expertly expedite himself from them to come and greet us and welcome us to your establishment top shelf automatically we sat down. We were waiting for another couple to join us. We had a nice conversation with him and he gave us drinks at the bar explained we're waiting for another couple to come. He said no problem when they get there we'll take it through table and that's what he did. The other couple of rides we sent the table. Wonderful service came up spoke to us very very attentive went over the menu with us gave the specials was absolutely incredible. Then I realize that he was all alone in the bar, not only was attending to us. He was only also attending to the other top plus, he was the bartender and the waiter and whoever was working in the back though your kitchen also wonderful then the place lit up there was a table of four came in another table of two and another top of two. This kid didn't even flinch. Continue to take care of every one of us very attentive and then the doors open up he had about 25 people altogether came in and came up to the bar. This kid did not flinch. He took care of them still attentive to us taking care of that baby at the bar, he put a high chair from this kid, amazingly took care of the whole bar and the dining room by himself. I am saying this to you because I am I am was previously a borrower in many many years I own two bus I have never seen one guy take care of a place of drinks, bar table tops food, greetings hospitality. You have a gem with this guy Joe I offered to help him as much as I could cause I saw that you know it was just overwhelming. He said I will take care of everything as his quote to me. I got you I said if you need me, I'm right here because I've seen it before this kid took care of a full bar too deep I might say also six tables of average three to table and just made your place run amazing so my advice is this when you find the guy like Joe you hold onto this kid like Grimm death and don't let go employees like a guy like Joe a few and far between you would do your company and yourself a service to make sure that you hold onto him and make him happy and keep him with you because there was never I've never seen a better ambassador for any place that I've gone to then watching this kid work today again I'm a bar owner. I've been a restaurant business. I'm a chef and I have never seen one kid run a place like that kudos to him. Kudos to you for hiring them and kudos to you if you hold onto it again unbelievable great experience. I will recommend your place. Came with a few friends about a month ago on a weekday evening. When we first arrive, there was another table but for the majority of the evening we were the only ones. Our waitress was super nice and ordering was quick and efficient but it took forever to get our food (about an hour) and every single one of our orders were incorrect (either incorrect types of tacos or just missing tacos). My friend who is lactose-intolerant and post-partum ordered a salad and when all the food came out, there was no salad. We had to ask for the salad so it then took even more time for her to get her food. The food itself was fine, but really sullied by the logistical errors. At the end, the odd thing was that the bill had all the correct orders, I guess the kitchen just executed poorly? We then had to tell the waitress to adjust our bill because things were wrong and she tried her best, but I think we were still overbilled and at the end, we just wanted to leave. We had a lunch reservation at Eat At Ditch to celebrate our birthdays. I asked to sit at a shaded table on the back patio because I liked the beachy vibes. Once seated, I told Laura about my food allergies and restrictions. She offered great suggestions and provided excellent service. Drink Ancho Average Marg - The margarita had a strong, delicious flavor and was served in a pineapple with a Tajín rim. Food Yuca Poppers Wings (bbq sauce) - Mmm, finger-licking goodness! Me: Seared Tuna Taco (no cilantro) - I ordered the Seared Tuna for the first time, and it will be my last. I didn't like the texture. Love the beachy vibe here! This place is dog friendly with convenient parking nearby in a gravel lot (across from Burnett's Marina - Bait & Tackle). to say I was disappointed in my meal tonight is an understatement. I've been here when they first opened quite a few times. Haven't been here in about a year. I ordered the coconut cod over rice and salad. The cod was too wet for me. I sent it back it came back still wet. The salad was completely drenched and lemon. It was disgusting. My waitress did ask if I want something else which I did not didn't discount or comp a glass of wine, taking our plates off the table. I've had this place bookmarked for a bit. Today I was in the area and had some time to kill. Figured I'd stop in for lunch! I opted to sit at the bar. Evan was the bartender and he was awesome. To drink I had "cool as a cucumber" which was delish and refreshing. It belongs at a pool bar! For my meal I went with the taco lunch special which included two tacos and choice of a few different salads or clam chowder. I decided on the jerk shrimp taco and the ahi tuna taco. I did this not realizing you can't mix-and-match for the lunch special, my error. Because I'm indecisive, I asked Eric to surprise me with either of them. To my surprise I was given both! We love this place! It was super busy but that's to be expected for a Saturday evening, especially with seafest going on nearby. The staff was super welcoming and we decided to sit at the bar so we could really enjoy the ambiance. The bartender was awesome! He greeted us right away and gave us some really great recommendations. We got some calamari to start and a couple sunburnt summer cocktails which were so refreshing after walking around all day. The bartender was super attentive and made great conversation with us about the area being that we were all relatively new to town. Overall 10/10 experience and we will definitely be back. This is an update to my original review. Shaving 1 star off. Food: 2/5 - I had 5 tacos. They were not cooked well. They had too much sauce on them and were just sloppy on the plate. Service: 4/5 - No issues. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Ambiance: 5/5 - Nice sized and has a good feel to it. Bright and cheery. Cleanliness: 2/5 - No issues in dining area. Bathrooms could use some repair. When you leave bathrooms you can see into the kitchen which were not clean. Chefs were not wearing hats. Parking: 3/5 - The big bumpy dirt lot they had looks closed. Now their is a flat lot on the right side which is better to park in. Value: 3/5 - Taco Tuesdays is a good deal if the food comes out right. My birthday treat from a friend brought us to Drift. I had made a reservation a few days prior. (On a side note, when I called, the man who picked up just said, "Hello." I had to ask if I had the right number and was calling Drift.) Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted. There was a band playing and it was quite crowded and for the next two hours, we proceeded to scream over each other to hear. Our waitress never said her name. Or maybe she did. Couldn't hear a thing. But what I do know is that the tables on either side of us were seated after us, had their drink and food orders taken before us, received their food and drinks before us, and were constantly communicated with throughout their meals. Not us. The waitress was frazzled and didn't really care about us. An extensive drink menu which made me want to order one of each, I settled on the Sunburnt Summer which as you can see wasn't exactly filled to the rim but it was tasty. The appetizer we chose was Esquites. Warm and bubbly and delicious with crispy-what-appeared-to-be homemade chips. I had the Korean Chicken Sammy. Just the right amount of heat. Food was amazing. Visited on a Sunday for brunch they provide happy hour options from 12-7pm. We ordered a bunch of appetizers. Mussels, a corn dip, it came with house made chips, yucca poppers, pork belly and steak tacos. Everything was delicious no complaints. My husband ordered a Paloma and I offered a Bellini. Our first time at Ditch and we already cannot wait to go back! We came in on a Friday night and sat at the bar. There was a one man band playing acoustic music, he asked if we had any recommendations and played our song right away! He played soft rock and a ton of country. His voice was amazing and it definitely set the mood. The restaurant is pristine inside. Started with margs and apps. The margs were strong and delicious, you could tell they were made with fresh ingredients! The sesame duck wings were tender and delish. Not pictured were the yucca poppers, we devoured them before snapping a pic. Mouthwatering!! Can't wait to come back and indulge in dinner next time. Ended with espresso martinis. For apps we had fried cauliflower with a Tai type sauce, was very nice and tasty served on a bed of field greens, we would order this again. We had a bowl of clam chowder which seemed house made and was quite good. We also had a Cesar Salad which was good enough to come back just for a Chicken Cesar power lunch. We also had the sushi quality seared tuna over couscous. Delicious and fresh! They have a nice bar and out door area. The main inside dining room is a bit on the small side but they have done well with utilizing available space without making the room crowded. We started off with the fried calamari and the fried yuca. Both were nice. Calamari was pretty standard and the fried yuca was a nice mix of salty and sweet. I had the watermelon salad and a carne asado taco as my entree. I liked the watermelon salad alot. It was refreshing. The taco was alright. They serve them cali style, super fresh on housemade corn tortillas, but on the smaller side. Here's the thing. In cali the tacos are like $2 or $3 bucks not $5 or $6 and all the tacos at our table were super cold. Everything came out at once some Im assuming they prepared them in the wrong order and some dishes ended up getting cold. Perhaps the brightest spot was the cocktails. Recently tried Ditch and omg I've already been back two more times. Taco Tuesday is amazing the tacos are delicious, both times I went for lunch it was super quiet fantastic service. Also went back for a craft night, they're always holding events and my friend and I decided to check one out. Got the lobster roll which was good, but the yucca poppers are a MUST. We stopped in after a day at Robert Moses . We were surprised to see this was at the site of a prior restaurant Lalas which we also enjoyed some time ago. Interior was light bright and casual. It is off season so crowd was light but this will likely change with the weather. There were a few hiccups because of a bridal shower earlier in the day. They were out of red wine! It did make us wonder aren't there any nearby liquor stores to buy a few bottles to tide over your Sunday crowd? Aside from that we enjoyed a meal of a calamari appetizer and some tacos. The calamari was very fresh and more than enough for two to four people. We also tried four of the tacos (carnita, carne, fresh Baja fish and tuna.) All were $6 each. Came here on a gorgeous mid week day for lunch. Tip: If you check in, you get a free Yucca popper appetizer. This is a shareable size. The poco and sour cream were good. The tortilla is corn and homemade. It was good, just tiny. The pork belly taco had more meat.. about the size of a generous bao bun... good sauce... tasted like a bao bun, but in a tortilla instead... The salad, part of the combo, came also in a small bowl but packed. I opted for the spinach chick pea feta salad. There were 4 chickpeas, and it was drenched in oil... that overwhelmed the salad. Actually terrible. We came here for dinner and from the very start it was bad. When we walked in the overwhelming sent of fabuloso was horrendous. We sat outside and did not get plates, napkins or silverware. We had to ask a girl who was setting the table next to us. Me and my friend ordered a painkiller and what we got was mostly jailhouse orange juice and a half of shot of rum lmaoooo. Our server was extremely helpful in making sure that what I ordered was gluten free and even took out her own phone to show me a graphic of the menu ingredients and allergens. My daughter and I shared the chips and guac - authentic tasting and nice, dense and crunchy chips, though a little pricey for the portion. She had a side of the Cheesy Mac for her meal. It was nicely sized and we took home half of it for later. I ordered the tacos and salad lunch special. The Summer Salad mix of arugula, watermelon, feta salad was tasty, though there was a bit too much dressing and it really didn't need much at all. The two tacos I chose were the Seared Tuna and the Grilled Fish which was hake. Both tacos were solid in terms of taste. My biggest issue was that these were so tiny and not substantive in terms of the ingredients. I expect $5/$6+ tacos to be larger sized and portioned. The idea of smaller tacos with intention of ordering many if doing à la carte works if they are priced appropriately. If the location was actually direct waterfront, it might be easier to justify the price of the teeny, tiny tacos! Didn't try any of the drinks, though they looked interesting and refreshing. The beachy Mexicali concept is great and spot-on for the area, though there are other places on the island that offer similar options and provide more value. read more

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Flambe catch of the day, it was Fluke. I also had Tuna Tartare and a Crab cake. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish was very fresh. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside. The reasons I am not giving 5 stars is because the menu was so hard to read. The name of the dish is a 10 font and the ingredients are a 4 font.
