For an appetizer, we got the fried pickles, and they were out of this world, honestly, they might have been the best fried pickles we've ever had! They were super crisp and came with a creamy horseradish dipping sauce that was absolutely delicious. For lunch, I got the taco platter with the roasted cauliflower, carne asada, and Beachfire chicken tacos. The Beachfire chicken had the perfect amount of spice, and the Gallo pinto on the side was super fresh and flavorful. My husband got the Korean chicken sammie, which was a great portion and had a spicy, tasty sauce. He also tried the pork belly taco, which he really enjoyed. The service was great and even had a QR code on the table to pay and order more in case you were in a time crunch. We'll definitely be back! I had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately they fell flat. We stopped by for the Taco Tuesday special, but the deal wasn't much of a deal. The tacos were only $1 off the regular price, and they were the smallest tacos I've ever seen. Even with the discount, they still felt overpriced for the portion size. We ordered three carne asada tacos, one chicken taco, one al pastor taco, and the cotija fries. The food was just okay, nothing that stood out or made me want to come back. The service was also just okay. Our waitress wasn't very personable. I ordered the Island Rum Punch, and it was terrible. When I mentioned that it didn't taste right, she explained they were out of one of the liquors that normally goes into the drink. She never offered to replace it or let me choose something else. Instead, I ended up asking for more simple syrup just to make it somewhat drinkable. The entire experience felt mediocre and lackluster. I've had this place bookmarked for a bit. Today I was in the area and had some time to kill. Figured I'd stop in for lunch! I opted to sit at the bar. Evan was the bartender and he was awesome. To drink I had "cool as a cucumber" which was delish and refreshing. It belongs at a pool bar! For my meal I went with the taco lunch special which included two tacos and choice of a few different salads or clam chowder. I decided on the jerk shrimp taco and the ahi tuna taco. I did this not realizing you can't mix-and-match for the lunch special, my error. Because I'm indecisive, I asked Eric to surprise me with either of them. To my surprise I was given both! Came with a few friends about a month ago on a weekday evening. When we first arrive, there was another table but for the majority of the evening we were the only ones. Our waitress was super nice and ordering was quick and efficient but it took forever to get our food (about an hour) and every single one of our orders were incorrect (either incorrect types of tacos or just missing tacos). My friend who is lactose-intolerant and post-partum ordered a salad and when all the food came out, there was no salad. We had to ask for the salad so it then took even more time for her to get her food. The food itself was fine, but really sullied by the logistical errors. At the end, the odd thing was that the bill had all the correct orders, I guess the kitchen just executed poorly? We then had to tell the waitress to adjust our bill because things were wrong and she tried her best, but I think we were still overbilled and at the end, we just wanted to leave. Robin entered the building it's Memorial Day and there was just a three top there so when we walked in, Joe was attending to the people at his top but when he saw us, he expertly expedite himself from them to come and greet us and welcome us to your establishment top shelf automatically we sat down. We were waiting for another couple to join us. We had a nice conversation with him and he gave us drinks at the bar explained we're waiting for another couple to come. He said no problem when they get there we'll take it through table and that's what he did. The other couple of rides we sent the table. Wonderful service came up spoke to us very very attentive went over the menu with us gave the specials was absolutely incredible. Then I realize that he was all alone in the bar, not only was attending to us. He was only also attending to the other top plus, he was the bartender and the waiter and whoever was working in the back though your kitchen also wonderful then the place lit up there was a table of four came in another table of two and another top of two. This kid didn't even flinch. Continue to take care of every one of us very attentive and then the doors open up he had about 25 people altogether came in and came up to the bar. This kid did not flinch. He took care of them still attentive to us taking care of that baby at the bar, he put a high chair from this kid, amazingly took care of the whole bar and the dining room by himself. I am saying this to you because I am I am was previously a borrower in many many years I own two bus I have never seen one guy take care of a place of drinks, bar table tops food, greetings hospitality. You have a gem with this guy Joe I offered to help him as much as I could cause I saw that you know it was just overwhelming. He said I will take care of everything as his quote to me. I got you I said if you need me, I'm right here because I've seen it before this kid took care of a full bar too deep I might say also six tables of average three to table and just made your place run amazing so my advice is this when you find the guy like Joe you hold onto this kid like Grimm death and don't let go employees like a guy like Joe a few and far between you would do your company and yourself a service to make sure that you hold onto him and make him happy and keep him with you because there was never I've never seen a better ambassador for any place that I've gone to then watching this kid work today again I'm a bar owner. I ordered the coconut cod over rice and salad. The cod was too wet for me. I sent it back it came back still wet. The salad was completely drenched and lemon. It was disgusting. My waitress did ask if I want something else which I did not didn't discount or comp a glass of wine, taking our plates off the table. I called restaurant to make reservation for my daughters birthday for 8 people. The reservation was taken over the phone, then I received a text from Toast, the payment platform that the restaurant uses that I needed to make a $25.00 deposit to hold this reservation, which I did. I forgot to check bill when we were at restaurant and noticed later I was not credited the reservation deposit. I reached out to restaurant on their contact form on their website, no reply, I went to restaurant and spoke to waitress and she said she had never heard of a deposit on a reservation and she would speak to management. I left my name, phone number and email and no one replied. I reached out a third time on the website contact with my phone number and email and no one has replied. I tried contacting Toast, but they only deal with the restaurant and said I needed to contact Ditch. I don't know if other people have had this experience, but I will not return to that restaurant for not showing any concern for the customer at all. I spent over $300 that day and no one even reached out. The food was ok, they were out of a lot of things we wanted to order. The dinner was on June 21 and it is now August 8 and crickets. The worst part is, when we got to the restaurant, there were only 2 other tables occupied, so I didn't even need a reservation, but that was where my daughter wanted to go for her birthday, so I made the reservation to guarantee we would get a table, I will not be going back there. read more

My birthday treat from a friend brought us to Drift. I had made a reservation a few days prior. (On a side note, when I called, the man who picked up just said, "Hello." I had to ask if I had the right number and was calling Drift.) Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted. An extensive drink menu which made me want to order one of each, I settled on the Sunburnt Summer which as you can see wasn't exactly filled to the rim but it was tasty. The appetizer we chose was Esquites. Warm and bubbly and delicious with crispy-what-appeared-to-be homemade chips. I had the Korean Chicken Sammy. Just the right amount of heat. We love this place! It was super busy but that's to be expected for a Saturday evening, especially with seafest going on nearby. There was a one man band playing acoustic music, he asked if we had any recommendations and played our song right away! He played soft rock and a ton of country. His voice was amazing and it definitely set the mood. The restaurant is pristine inside. Started with margs and apps. For apps we had fried cauliflower with a Tai type sauce, was very nice and tasty served on a bed of field greens, we would order this again. We had a bowl of clam chowder which seemed house made and was quite good. We also had a Cesar Salad which was good enough to come back just for a Chicken Cesar power lunch. We also had the sushi quality seared tuna over couscous. Delicious and fresh! They have a nice bar and out door area. The main inside dining room is a bit on the small side but they have done well with utilizing available space without making the room crowded. Theyve got a pretty extensive menu, salads tacos sandwiches poke and some other bowls. It might be a little too many options tbh but what I had was pretty good. We started off with the fried calamari and the fried yuca. Both were nice. Calamari was pretty standard and the fried yuca was a nice mix of salty and sweet. I had the watermelon salad and a carne asado taco as my entree. I liked the watermelon salad alot. It was refreshing. The taco was alright. They serve them cali style, super fresh on housemade corn tortillas, but on the smaller side. Here's the thing. In cali the tacos are like $2 or $3 bucks not $5 or $6 and all the tacos at our table were super cold. Everything came out at once some Im assuming they prepared them in the wrong order and some dishes ended up getting cold. Perhaps the brightest spot was the cocktails. We stopped in after a day at Robert Moses . We were surprised to see this was at the site of a prior restaurant Lalas which we also enjoyed some time ago. Interior was light bright and casual. It is off season so crowd was light but this will likely change with the weather. There were a few hiccups because of a bridal shower earlier in the day. They were out of red wine! It did make us wonder aren't there any nearby liquor stores to buy a few bottles to tide over your Sunday crowd? Aside from that we enjoyed a meal of a calamari appetizer and some tacos. Actually terrible. We came here for dinner and from the very start it was bad. When we walked in the overwhelming sent of fabuloso was horrendous. We sat outside and did not get plates, napkins or silverware. We had to ask a girl who was setting the table next to us.
