What an amazing experience! We came here for a family birthday celebration and had SO much fun from beginning to end. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and perfect for celebrating with family. They had a live singer who was incredibly talented and really made the night! She interacted with everyone, got the patrons involved, had us singing and laughing, and was just genuinely so nice and fun. It turned dinner into an entire experience and made our birthday celebration that much more memorable. And the food was very, very good! Everything came out looking great, the portions were generous, and we enjoyed all of our dishes. The drinks were just as impressive--the bartender definitely knows what they're doing because our cocktails were DELICIOUS. Between the great food, amazing drinks, live music, singing, laughs, and overall energy, we had such a good time. This is the kind of place where you come for dinner and end up staying because you're having too much fun. We absolutely cannot wait to go back! read more

My group of 4 ppl went here to celebrate a birthday. Place looks great, unfortunately service was lacking. When the items we ordered were delivered I informed the server we were missing something, and he just stated back " well you only said 1" we reminded him exactly the way we asked for both items and he just shook his head, rolled his eyes and left....after that he decided to not come near the table anymore - the place was empty it was a Wednesday at 5 pm, we just asked any other server for utensils that were missing or napkins. Finally he decided to come serve us for dessert....and gave us wrong items. At that point we just decided to leave and forget about this place, which is such a shame because we had travelled about 30 mins to go there and had high expectations. Unfortunately service does matter even if a place serves good food and is decorated nicely. read more

BEWARE: After having the server in Levittown rob me for an extra tip on my credit card I give them another chance and visit the Suffolk location, so I go there and get a to-go order. When I drive all the way home and open the bag, I find the worst takeout I have ever had. My chicharron was so burnt I couldn't even eat it The manager of this place should be ashamed of themselves. I should have never gone back after the server at the Levittown location changed my tip and added $10 more dollars to a pretty good tip I left already.. These people should be reported to the authorities I just didn't have the time to do it. read more

Amazing food. Great drinks - try the Sex in Medellin so good. Courteous staff, nice vibes. Perfect date night spot

Colombian food is a tough business with so many established restaurants on the island already. Sabor was bold enough to put a location in such a densely latin community so they had to bring their A game. I usually get any variation of a "bandeja tipica" at a colombian restaurant so I tried theirs. This plate was close to perfect for me. Their rice is soft and garlicky, the steak was properly cooked medium rare and seasoned to perfection. The chicharron was very well seasoned to my surprise though a bit dry at some parts. Their arepa is tiny but mighty, very soft with a thin crisp exterior. I could do with or without the sausage, it's tasty but I find myself enjoying the other meats way more. The rest of the plate was standard to me. The beans, avocado, plantains, and egg did what they had to. This plate is certainly enough for 2 people or even 2 meals for 1 person and it's one of the more fairly priced bandejas I've come across. If you've never had Colombian food this is a great starting point. read more

First off entering the restaurant makes you feel like you are on vacation. Hostess was not so friendly but our server was a pure delight! Only issue was he kept speaking to my friend in Spanish, not knowing I speak Spanish as well. The food was absolutely amazing! The arepas con queso always fresh and piping hot, chicharrón is fried perfectly. My favorite dish here has to be the Pargo Rojo Frito, so delicious read more

Stopped by to check out this location instead of driving to the Levittown one. It was very lively Saturday evening. Lots of colors and caribbean style decor. We sat in the area near the bar on high stools. There was live singing and a lot of birthday shout outs which I didn't mind. Now for the service, our waitress was great. Always checking in while running most of the section. She had help from 2 others in case we needed something while she was busy. The drinks were good, strong. The whole red snapper was the star of the evening, lots of flavor. It came with white rice and tostones, definitely needed beans to complete the meal. The roasted chicken was okay, could have used a little more seasoning but I added some chimichurri and it was delicious. Yuca is a favorite of mine and it was tasty plus the sauces. Over all a nice vibe. read more

Came here for a last minute date night. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas and in general the decor was very nice. I went with two papasitos to drink (which were just ok) while my boyfriend had a modelo and we started with a chicken and a beef empanada each. You can tell they were fresh. They came with 3 different sauces-all pretty tasty. I had the churrasco for entree which was a generous size portion that came with a side of rice and beans. The steak was sizzling hot when they brought it to the table and very good. It came with the same 3 sauces as the empanadas. I think one was a chimichurri, one some kind of avocado crema and the other I'm not sure about but it had a tiny hint of spice. The meal was very good overall. Our server was super friendly but not very attentive. I would definitely come again though. read more

Here's the Scoop! Decided to come for lunch at this new restaurant that use to be Carrabas in Central Islip. The restaurant has been redesigned and is so beautiful. Wall size TV, full bar and multiple seating choices. There's outdoor seating as well. Friday I believe there's live music and a DJ in the evening. The service was quick and welcoming. The seating is comfortable and spacious. The menu has many choices. The food is so flavorful and portions are nice. Prices very reasonable. Taty (Tatiana) our waitress was quick and attentive to our needs. Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I left full relaxed and happy. I Can't wait to see what the live music and DJ bring to the dining experience. Excited to return! Yelp family come and check it out and ask for Taty. read more

I visited this new spot in town with high hopes--it's close by, and I was excited at the thought of finding a new go-to for lunch breaks or dinners with coworkers. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. Starting with the food: the ceviche was underwhelming, and the chicken soup, while okay, didn't come with the salad and rice that was listed on the menu. My mother's pork chops were just fine--nothing memorable. I also ordered a mule, which was decent. Where things really fell apart was the service. Our water glasses were never refilled, and we weren't asked if we wanted additional drinks. When it came time to leave, it took nearly an hour to receive the check and a to-go container. I asked to speak with the manager and was initially told she was "too busy," but when she finally did come over, all she offered was a quick "sorry." Earlier in the evening, when the place was slower, I saw her walking around wiping tables--it would've been nice if she acknowledged customers during that time. The lack of communication and teamwork among the staff made the experience disappointing. I typically over-tip, but for the first time ever, I left nothing--simply because the service made me feel like an afterthought. There are better options just down the road--Mi Tierrita, for example, consistently delivers both great food and service. Unfortunately, this place seems to rely solely on its ambiance. I won't be returning. read more

Excellent Colombian dishes at reasonable price. Loved the carne asada and the liver, and the cocktails were delicious too.

Hello my fellow Yelpers. Once again, good evening. Earlier, I went with my parents to share a couple of appetizers and drinks. We heard good things about this new place. Years prior, this place was a eatery, called Carrabba's. As soon as we went on, we were greeted by the host. The warmth and the music, gave us the right good vibes. Me and my mom ordered a passion fruit juice. It came on a tall, refreshing glass. The first appetizer was amazing! It had chicharrón, fried pork belly with guacamole and fried patacones; perfectly fried plantain discs that accompanied the dish. The dipping sauces were delicious too. The second appetizer we ordered was a shrimp ceviche with tostones. The place was lively with lots of patrons. There's a young woman that sings and provides entertainment. Overall, the food and the service are to great. We'll make sure we come again to eat dinner. I recommend this restaurant. read more

Beware: Server Changed My Tip Without Permission I came here for the first time around noon. The food was fine, but the service was very slow. Our server dropped off the food and never checked back on us the entire time. Because of that, we decided to leave a smaller tip. Later, I discovered that the waitress had changed the tip amount on her own -- completely disregarding what I left and adding a 20% tip herself. This is not only unprofessional but dishonest, since it resulted in me being charged more than I authorized. I contacted management about the situation, and to their credit, they responded quickly. They apologized, acknowledged it was unacceptable, and refunded me the difference. They also assured me they would address it with the waitress directly. I appreciate that they took responsibility, but the situation should never have happened in the first place. Warning: If you pay with a card here, always double-check your receipts and charges. Altering a tip without customer approval is not okay. read more

The food is excellent as is the service. I highly recommend it. Their breakfast is fantastic.

I came to this place twice with my friend; he has been to one of their establishments before. Therefore, coming to this particular location in Central Islip was a first time for both of us. We couldn't have been any happier, or, I should speak for myself, I couldn't have been any happier with this fantastic establishment. The experience was very relaxing, with excellent service, and the food was mad tasty. I would highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you're looking for very flavorful Latino cuisine and a fun and delightful time. What's more, prices were fantastic as well and the portions... I had to be wheeled out of there both times. Anyway, I'll be coming here again with some of my friends--can't wait for next time! read more

Great portions for the price. You get your money's worth if food. The seasoning is delectible.

The food was great. I loved their steak with rice and beans. It was perfect. I love the fun atmosphere that is inside. Fun and family oriented when I went. But later I'm sure it's a great dance spot. The service was fast and they were very friendly. read more

This Colombian restaurant packs vibes and flavor - but let me get past the bad first. The hostess team : they all need a crash course on greeting - very cold / stone faced front end staff : immediately screams - you're lucky if we even talk to you. Almost walked away. Ok: that part is done- now to the ambiance: upbeat Latin music at a perfect volume , TVs at the bar showing sports and a stage with full wall screen taking up the far right wall of the Restaraunt. They have bands on weekends, karaoke during the week as I read. Now- the food: great selection of Colombian cousine - I chose the steak as it was delivered to a table near by and looked incredible : aaaaand IT SURE WAS. The ENTRANA PARILLA was Perfectly seasoned with a nice side if grilled potato rice and beans, I also ordered the Parallida a Colombia - which was a mix cuts of sirloin , chicken , pork , sausage , shrimp and blood sausage- also served with rice, beans potato and salad : Eveything was cooked perfectly with its own yummmmmy seasoning. plenty of food left for lunch in the next day. Great place to go and eat. read more

The food here is really good. The ambiance is fun and festive. The only issue I had was when the servers would clean the tables with a strong-smelling solution which permeated into all your senses destroying any enjoyment of what you were eating. They need to change that as it is intrusive to the palate and experience. read more

Melissa was great. I will definitely come back, sangria is excellent. Thank you Mellisa.

The food is excellent! The drinks are excellent! The service is a little slow but I understand it's busy so that's not a problem for me. The ambiance is very estheticy. Food was fresh and delicious. Place is always packed ! Everyone was very polite but they were not too attentive. We needed a second round of cocktails and waited almost a half hour just for the waitress to return to the table what are the drinks; another 10 minutes to return with the drinks. By then we were done with dinner. The place is new. The decor is tacky, but the food is fantastic; the drinks are good, the apps are delicious as well. Definitely worth the money and worth the trip for good comfort food. read more

The atmosphere is great, however the food will not bring me back. The tostones are definitely frozen and then fried. The arepas didn't taste anything like an arepa. I make tostones at home and I know fresh tostones by their taste. I have tasted authentic arepas and these aren't fresh. Additionally, since when are you served rice but not given beans???? The gentleman said, "I will bring some." He said the dish doesn't include beans. I understand mass production, but food should be made fresh. The appetizers definitely were substandard. I love to cook and it was disappointing. My final comment, the waitress was overworked, we had to ask the servers for assistance several times. You definitely need more waitresses. My 3 stars is for the entertainment, unfortunately, for me, food is more important. read more

New franchise i get it so food is great ambiance is food a little over the top but fine now service another story our server was so stressed out only came over to the table twice at most so the whole time we had to chase whoever was walking by and still didn't get our new drinks and sauces we wanted. Very busy on a Saturday very early afternoon so i wouldn't even try to go for dinner. Bartenders specially suck! I asked for a frozen marg so i sent it back and they said it would make it to watery? Like what? Who says that? Also empanadas were a day old! Come on!!! read more
