Good for dine in and take out! I like the Platano relleno, ropa vieja and stuffed shrimp! The drinks were pretty hit or miss last time I went (maybe just the bartender) The service is usually very good, friendly and efficient.

Date Night brought my boyfriend and I here...so happy with our choice! From start to finish everything was delicious. The complimentary chips and salsa was delicious! The salsa wasn't spicy, but it had excellent flavor. I want to dip everything in it. For an appetizer we had Arepitas y Chorizo. It was chorizo with onions served with a cornmeal flat bread. Excellent flavor! I found out they had chicken tortilla soup as their soup of the day. I've been craving chicken tortilla soup for weeks..so I had to get it. I was served the wrong soup at first...shrimp bisque. Our server fixed it right away and apologized. The chicken tortilla soup was absolutely delicious! For my entree I had Camarones Relleno. This meal consisted of shrimp with a crab meat and shrimp stuffing in a creamy lobster bisque sauce. I was also able to pick two sides. I went with black beans and mixed veggies. Everything on my plate had amazing flavor. My boyfriend ordered Besito Salvadoreño. This meal consisted of top sirloin steak served with a fried egg, avocado, chorizo, sweet plantain, rice, and beans. It was delicious as well. For drinks I had a strawberry sangria and my boyfriend had a mojito. Service and food was excellent! We can't wait to go back.

Last night Bon G and I chose El Matador in Patchogue for our Friday Dinner. Easily found next to 112 Nissan, they have their own parking lot, a big plus. We had a google rezzy and were seated immediately. We had 2 wonderful servers who took care of our every need and also gave us explains on the menu items. To get in the mood we had a couple of shots of Patron each which really helped. We were hungry, so for appys we had Fried Calamari and Baked Clams...Clams were delish but Calamari was rather small portion. They had specials and we availed ourselves to 2 of them; I had Fried Porgie and Bon had Short Ribs..Both were prepared perfectly and were outstanding.... For dessert we had the Best Flan I can remember eating! So Goooood! We had a great time in a laid back, but loud venue and will certainily be returning to try the other great menu items!

Outstanding restaurant. Recommended by some great friends, we decided to have dinner at this location. I was amazed that this restaurant, tucked away in a small plaza, punched out great authentic flavors. The staff was super friendly with outstanding attitudes. Everyone had smiles and treated their customers with the highest quality of service. I highly recommend this establishment. The food is exceptional, the people are fantastic and the experience was worth five stars.

Went here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. Nice quiet place with excellent food. Super friendly service.Their salsa was DELICIOUS. I had gambas Al ajillo - they give you very big shrimp! Both their black beans and red beans were also good. I had a side of tostones- yummm. Margaritas were great- I had a classic one and a spicy mango. Definitely reccomend.

The Ropa Vieja was out of this world! Don't forget to save room for one of their amazing homemade desserts.

The food was amazing. Truly made with love and passion. Their homemade desserts were delicious! The service was great! Johanna was very attentive, kind and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. So glad I listened to her recommendation for dessert, the tres leche cake was so good! The restaurant was very clean, the ladies room was immaculate. Lovely decor. Simple tasteful tables, comfortable chairs and well placed wall art. My group and I had a lovely time. We can't wait to go back.

Ordered the $24.99 family meal via curbside pickup with my husband today. The young woman I spoke with on the phone when I called it in was very friendly and once again when we picked up the food. Process was super smooth considering it is so crazy with the COVID-19 pandemic. The food was delicious and this is by far the best bang for your buck! I can't believe how much food you get for the price. The chicken was juicy and in a delicious seasoned sauce. Maduros (sweet plantains) were perfect and the penne ala vodka was creamy and surprisingly tasted like it came from an Italian restaurant. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out. I'm planning on trying other menu items real soon.

    Family Meal Combo delicious !!!!!

I'm Colombian myself so seeing they had a bakery I was thrilled since majority don't. I went inside and no one else was there so i assumed fast service. Unfortunately I was wrong. I made eye contact several times and they proceeded to what they were doing. I of course waited and the gentleman took my order. They did not have buñuelos so I got pan de bono and 2 chicken empanadas with a soda. I had to wait for the empanadas which was fine for freshness. The wait felt longer than needed and more so I was forgotten and they proceeded to do what they were doing. There was several people in the back and looked like they were doing renovations since a ladder was in the front. Just felt very disorganized and lack of recognition that the they were open. While my empanada's were hot but mediocre in taste, my pan de bono was cold and dry. For the wait it would've been nice if that was heated up. Total was $16 for my $3 soda. Overall it felt steep and a waste of money. I was left disappointed and now still looking for a good Colombian bakery with actual good customer service.

But the metered parking machine wasn't working. A local told us we didn't have to pay. We walked inside and was greeted by a friendly server. The table was already set for us, and she brought out menus for us. They gave us water in plastic cups. (I think this restaurant is mostly popular for its take out service more than its dine in service. While there was only 3 other tables seated besides us, their counter was overflowing with takeout orders. We ordered the Pollo a La Brasa, choritos a la chalaca, choclo con queso fresco, chicha morado, frijoles, and arroz amarillo. They took our order and gave us puffed corn, and some kind of cream salsa verde sauce for the table. The chicha morado was good, sweet and slightly spiced from the cinnamon it was refreshing, light and sweet. First came the mussels, they were topped with a salsa, lime juice and corn. They were overcooked and dry. I don't think people normally order the mussels, so I don't think the chef knew how to prepare it properly. Then came the rice and the roast chicken. The yellow rice was so flavorful, fluffy, and good. The roast chicken was amazing. Very flavorful, and the meat fell right off the bones. Then came the beans, and corn appetizer. The corn appetizer was kind of weird. It was just slightly warm corn with small logs of cheese on the side. I was expecting like a roasted corn with fresh cheese crumbled on top with spices. There was very enthusiastic Latino music playing from the TV the whole time. The whole place felt fun and inviting. It was pretty casual, and the waitresses were friendly and kind. They were decorated for Halloween with decorations, and orange lights lighting up the walls. I think next time we'll just stick to the chicken, beans, and rice. They were very nice in letting us being our own birthday cake as well. They gave us small plates, and forks and knives. They gave us plastic utensils. I guess they didn't have small dessert forks. Overall wonderful experience. Just don't order something atypical I guess.

I had a visitor in from Oklahoma and thought he would enjoy the food. We were a party of 5. I was literally surprised by the quality of the food and really disappointed. We ordered Nachos as a appetizer and when it came it looked empty. No seasoning on the chicken barely any cheese or salsa on them. ( picture included) one person ordered a quesadilla with shrimp. It was very flat and she opened it and the shrimp was squashed into a ball, barely any cheese and she sent it back before I had a chance to take a picture. They took it off the bill. We ordered a medium skirt steak that was supposed to be marinated but it wasn't and looked so unappealing but he ate it anyway. I ordered the tropical plater which is a favorite of mine. The steak was disgusting( picture attached) The only dish that came out ok was the steak fajitas. We also had 4 cocktails. Our waitress was really nice and did her best. I truly hope this is a fluke but felt the owner of this business should be aware. I never minded the cost of the food because you knew the food would be delicious. For drinks, I was thinking about ordering a margarita, but our server mentioned the mojito specials. I quickly switched up and ordered the coconut mojito. My husband tried the mango passion fruit mojito, but it was extremely sour and had to be sent back. Unfortunately, the second drink he ordered also wasn't to his liking. I ordered the coconut mojito, the drink itself was good, but between the narrow glass and all the ice, it disappeared pretty quickly, which felt different from past experiences. Now Let's talk Dominican Ribs ... OMG...the thing that hooked me here the first time... The flavor was spot on, clearly that recipe has not changed. They fall off the bone, tender with that sticky sweet lick your fingers kind of special but they too were a little different. A little dainty. I just found my picture from 2019 and did a side-by-side. We also ordered the chicken wings and they to me didn't have a special feel. They were reminiscing of the ones I grab at Costco for my family barbecue. Good but didn't have that Caribbean inspired taste and they were not so, fall off the bone.
