Great Colombian food! Just a hole in the wall take out spot, but I was surprised how good the food is.

Good food, great service, in a relaxed ambiance is how I can describe Gallo. Located in downtown…read morePatchogue, the music grabs you as soon as you enter. We sat down and ordered drinks first. I had a passion fruit margarita which was good. We also ordered mango habanero wings which were also good. For the entree I had to try their steak Caesar wrap with fried sweet plantains. The steak was soft and juicy, and the Caesar salad was flavorful. The sweet plantains on the side just connected all the dots for me. Our server Kelly was friendly and genuine, and came to check on us to make sure everything was good. Considering this is where my brother met his wife, it was great to celebrate the moment where they first fell in love. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something new on the menu!

Food: 3/5 - food is pretty lackluster taste-wise but makes up for in portion size. The food has that typical restaurant-like taste where if it were frozen, I would not be surprised. However the portions are massive, spent around $20-$25 on nachos and entree and both were huge. Drinks were very good, Guava Mojito was top notch. Service: 2/5 - was debating giving a 1 here but held off. Didn't get our servers name, forgot waters after asking twice, food came out right on top of one another. Overall lame. Probably the worst part. Ambiance: 2/5 - inside itself was fine but the vibe was low and there were a number of flys around our table. The place also felt pretty lifeless. Felt like my girlfriend and I were the only people having a conversation in the whole place. Just felt cold inside. Overall: 2/5 - possibly would return for takeout only and looking to grub on a lot of food. But not dine-in. Would rather other spots in Patchogue. Best Dish - Guava mojito Would Return - Probably not

I've been to La Confianza twice and really enjoyed the food both times. The first time was a few…read moreyears ago. Our Spanish speaking friend who ate there often brought us here and we had a FEAST! We each ordered on our own (pick 2-3 things) on top of rice (white rice, rice with beans, or yellow Spanish rice) and we each paid at the counter before sitting. Our friend then ordered additional food to share... all sorts of dishes we've never tried before. It was a heavenly experience, we left SO FULL! The second time we came here for a quick lunch before hopping on the Sunday 2:30pm LIRR back to the city. There was a line since there was only one lady scooping up your choices. The lady isn't quite friendly, but she's not mean either... just efficient so don't expect warm smiles or anything when you ask her questions (my poor vegetarian friend got a icy stare/no response when she asked about the salad). She shrugged and said "no" when I asked if they had any vegetables (lol?). I ordered the chicken (in red/orange sauce) and the fantastic grilled steak (a good sized piece) on top of yellow rice ($12). The hot sauce with their steak is INCREDIBLE. I think the salad comes with your container... so ask for salad before you get to the register. The guy at the register was really nice when I asked about their in-house green hot sauce and he gave me two extra small containers. All in all, the food here speaks for itself! EAT HERE! The booths cleared out quickly so we were able to dine in both times. Relatively clean space. Note: my friend got charged more for the same meal when she went with her mom (not Spanish) than when she went with her Spanish speaking friend. So maybe non-locals like myself get charged more? *shrug* steak was worth it!

I've been here many times over the years, but this is probably one of the best plates I've had…read morehere. The steak tasted really good, like it was marinated, with rice and beans, delicious green home made hot sauce, and some sort of cabbage salad. Everything was fresh, delicious, and I'll definitely be back. Even all the way from west Islip

The room was set up upon arrival. All we needed to do is decorate and enjoy. Lots of my guests told to me today how friendly and personable the waitstaff were to our little guests. They were very attentive and consistently were on top of things. If you haven't tried their sangria, you need to. It was great. Everyone loved the food and made it a point to tell me. For reference: Appetizers were empanadas, chicharrones, and quesadillas. Entrees were Carne Asada with pico de gallo, chicken and chorizo, chicken franchise, white rice, vegetables, stuffed plantain and salad. The beef and potato empanadas were very good, and the paella was tasty and loaded with clams, mussels, chicken, and chorizo. My only disappointment was that there wasn't a single shrimp or any calamari in the paella, which I was expecting. Overall, the food was flavorful and we enjoyed our meal.

Every employee who helps from the people who fill your water glass to the bus boys clearing plates are exceptional. Our server Francis was absolutely outstanding. He was attentive, always checking on us, making sure our drinks were full, apps were plentiful, and food came out perfect and delicious. We had mentioned it was my birthday in passing and were surprised with a delicious dessert and tequila shots to top off our already full bellies. Between the mouthwatering dessert, fresh table-side guacamole, flavorful enchiladas, and delicious margaritas - we left bursting at the seems and blown away by the service. Thank you to Francis and the team here at Don Quijote for the best dinner experience we've had in quite some time.

The salsa had good flavor. To drink I had a blueberry margarita and my fiancé had a watermelon margarita. Both were great and not overly sweet. For an appetizer we shared the chori- fondue. The menu stated it was served with a side of tortillas, which we didn't get. Not a big deal..we dipped the chips into the fondue instead. For my entree I had the Baja shrimp tacos. They started off with good flavor but then in my first taco one shrimp still had the shell on it. I know that sometimes the shell is left on for flavor purposes, but not in tacos that one is bitting into. I then saw the shell was on another shrimp in my third taco. This was definitely a poor oversight and poor attention to detail as it wasn't on every shrimp. Eater beware. My fiancé had arroz con pollo which he enjoyed. The serving was quite large and he has atleast another two meals for later. Service was alright, but our server never came back to check on us. Overall, I'd say it was just okay and average.
