From famous wineries to Pizza even meaning chicken gallo has stood for many things over the years, in this case it represents a wonderful food establishment in the village of Patchogue. I went Sunday morning for brunch to gallo with nine people so we were sizable table and slightly needy and our waiter perform flawlessly. The drinks came out as ordered in a relatively short amount of time followed by some mouth-watering food we were there for brunch so obviously we ordered brunch food. Laugh out loud I ordered skirt steak and eggs the eggs were over easy and the skirt steak was medium rare they did a spectacular job enjoyed every bite actually had to take home the potatoes the portion was quite sizeable. At the table some of the other people ordered breakfast burritos two different styles and also a Reuben all the food came out also in a good time frame and was all correct and everybody enjoyed their meals thank you gallo for putting together a good combination of service and food quality. The decor was very cool the restaurant was clean and it was easy access right off Main Street. Parking in Patchogue is a little difficult sometimes depending on when you're there so please leave time so that parking your car doesn't ruin the experience that Gallo puts together for you once you get into their establishment. Thanks again for a great brunch will definitely be back

I honestly love gallo. I'm just not sure that I love myself very much.... You might think that sounds dark n deep, and maybe sure but... I always seem to punish myself. I always say I'm gnna get extra chicharrones to go home with, but I fail; let me tell you, from this point on, I'm getting the perfect order, combo fajitas supreme with the chicken steak and shrimp, and adding chicharones, not only for when I'm there, but an extra to thrown on top of my leftovers! Because believe me, letting that green sauce soak into the rice with the beans, the peppers and onions, letting all that meld together and still having that crunchy, fatty, melt in your mouth pork rinds.... Bruh next level no cap legit fire and all the other words I'm too old to be saying. phew. Why do I always punish myself!? Yelp therapist I need to know! I liked my salad too, I'm not just suckin on fried pork fat for the record. Wait... chicharrones on a side salad sounds amazing... You know I'm a mountain platter man because it's a great deal, but I gotta tell you, the splurge doing it this way is the ultimate, little bit of everything, indulgence we all deserve!! It even comes with fresh half fried queso on top which I didn't even realize until I got home and cracked open the container... I'm ecstatic and stuffed and remember why I keep coming back (besides trying to find a wife)

I have been going to Gallo for many years and have never been disappointed until I went on March 16, 2026. Most of the food was a disgrace. I had a visitor in from Oklahoma and thought he would enjoy the food. We were a party of 5. I was literally surprised by the quality of the food and really disappointed. We ordered Nachos as a appetizer and when it came it looked empty. No seasoning on the chicken barely any cheese or salsa on them. ( picture included) one person ordered a quesadilla with shrimp. It was very flat and she opened it and the shrimp was squashed into a ball, barely any cheese and she sent it back before I had a chance to take a picture. They took it off the bill. We ordered a medium skirt steak that was supposed to be marinated but it wasn't and looked so unappealing but he ate it anyway. I ordered the tropical plater which is a favorite of mine. The steak was disgusting( picture attached) The only dish that came out ok was the steak fajitas. We also had 4 cocktails. Our waitress was really nice and did her best. I truly hope this is a fluke but felt the owner of this business should be aware. I never minded the cost of the food because you knew the food would be delicious. This time we paid $178.35 for a horrible experience at Gallo's in Patchogue, NY

Came here with a large group for a Christmas celebration and had a wonderful time! The owner was so nice and came by to check on us. The menu was quite extensive and portion sizes were enormous! Everyone went home with leftovers. The drinks were also delicious! I would come back again!

Tropical platter.

Gallo gets an easy 5 from me these days. It's a family staple for us and consistent as they come - with excellent specials! The lunch specials with their early happy hour can't be beat. Service is always on point and friendly. This place has been around forever for a reason. We've also ordered their Pernil for a catered meal and it was 10/10. No doubt this is one of our local favorites.

Our server Carla was on point. Friendly, patient, attentive and service with a smile. An asset to this restaurant. Actually entire staff today were super friendly and worked in harmony. Our outside patio seating surrounded by beautiful flowers for privacy was perfect. Cocktails and lunch were delicious. The fajitas were exactly the way I remember from several years ago except the portion was a bit less. But, what restaurant/business hasn't been downsizing? We enjoyed this beautiful day in Patchoque! Thank you!

Gallo is a fantastic spot to visit in Patchogue Village. To begin, the owners Carol and Dave are awesome. They are warm and welcoming and truly add to your dining experience. This translates to the staff. They are all positive, friendly and attentive. Tip of the hat to Herbert, Karla and Gi Gi. My wife and I tend to dine at the bar and they have always provided amazing service and a friendly smile. The food here is delicious. Always hot and fresh. We have dined here regularly and the food is consistently made. The menu here is extensive. You can't go wrong with anything here. Our favorite is the Gallo fajita Supreme. This is a sizzling plater loaded with steak, shrimp and chicken. The portion is very generous. The rice and beans that accompany it are tasty and authentic. This dish is cooked with the most delicious blend of spices and flavorings. We have dubbed this "The best dish In Patchogue " Also delicious is the Gallo Chicken. Lightly breaded and butterflied . A favorite of our kids is the Campers platter. This is a large portion of assorted meats that compliment each other beautifully. While you are there, make sure you have a cocktail, or two. I recommend the Cadillac Margarita. Another top notch cocktail is any of the flavored Mojitos. All made with fresh juices. Check this place out as soon as possible. The menu is so large you can go multiple times and always get something new and delicious.

Gallo, or should I say the Big Rooster, located in Patchogue, Main Street where everyone comes to have a great time having good food, and a greater time with friends and family. Gallo offers some delicious mouth watering authentic Colombian cuisine. For starters I would highly recommend the shrimp ceviche. 6 generous pieces of shrimp, served almost shrimp cocktail style with onions, lemons and a side of 2 green plantains. Your mouth will certainly start watering! Beautifully done. For my main entree I got their churrasco steak what came with a healthy amount of rice, beans, extra onions for a few bucks for and avocado! Mmm mmm mmm talk about delightful! The avocado slice was at an extra charge as well but you have to get the full Colombian experience am I right ? Tambien, moving on! My friend ordered the rotisserie style chicken wrap. The Smokiness of the chicken mixed together perfectly with a bed of yellow rice? You can't go wrong! I would like to give a little recognition to Karla our waitress. She was phenomenal! She told us about their signature white sauce they have table side and guys, all I have to say is YOU HAVEEE TO TRY IT WITH YOUR STEAKS! Or even the rotisserie chicken! It was so good I wanted to take the bottle home with me! Karla made our dinner experience so much better and meaningful. Ensuring our food was on time and that we didn't run out of beverages on our table. We arrived a little late before closing but Karla ensured us that we had enough time to have a wonderful time, at Gallo! This is why I'll be back again and again! Truly the definition of quality customer service!

Sweet chili wings and cerviche

We decided on Gallo after checking out a few menus while walking in Patchogue. The drinks were decent and there was a huge menu. I enjoyed the wings and my wife liked the potato cake with cerviche. I had the campers platter and my wife had the seared shrimp with rice and vegetables. While this had 4 stars; I was highly disappointed. I found the meat very dry or very tough. My wife found her meal to be bland. A lot of people like this place; I would not come again.

Our Spanish speaking friend who ate there often brought us here and we had a FEAST! We each ordered on our own (pick 2-3 things) on top of rice (white rice, rice with beans, or yellow Spanish rice) and we each paid at the counter before sitting. Our friend then ordered additional food to share... all sorts of dishes we've never tried before. It was a heavenly experience, we left SO FULL! The second time we came here for a quick lunch before hopping on the Sunday 2:30pm LIRR back to the city. There was a line since there was only one lady scooping up your choices. The lady isn't quite friendly, but she's not mean either... just efficient so don't expect warm smiles or anything when you ask her questions (my poor vegetarian friend got a icy stare/no response when she asked about the salad). She shrugged and said "no" when I asked if they had any vegetables (lol?). I ordered the chicken (in red/orange sauce) and the fantastic grilled steak (a good sized piece) on top of yellow rice ($12). The hot sauce with their steak is INCREDIBLE. I think the salad comes with your container... so ask for salad before you get to the register. The guy at the register was really nice when I asked about their in-house green hot sauce and he gave me two extra small containers. All in all, the food here speaks for itself! EAT HERE! The booths cleared out quickly so we were able to dine in both times. Relatively clean space. Note: my friend got charged more for the same meal when she went with her mom (not Spanish) than when she went with her Spanish speaking friend. So maybe non-locals like myself get charged more? *shrug* steak was worth it!

The steak tasted really good, like it was marinated, with rice and beans, delicious green home made hot sauce, and some sort of cabbage salad. The salsa had good flavor. To drink I had a blueberry margarita and my fiancé had a watermelon margarita. Both were great and not overly sweet. For an appetizer we shared the chori- fondue. The menu stated it was served with a side of tortillas, which we didn't get. Not a big deal..we dipped the chips into the fondue instead. For my entree I had the Baja shrimp tacos. They started off with good flavor but then in my first taco one shrimp still had the shell on it. I know that sometimes the shell is left on for flavor purposes, but not in tacos that one is bitting into. I then saw the shell was on another shrimp in my third taco. This was definitely a poor oversight and poor attention to detail as it wasn't on every shrimp. Eater beware. My fiancé had arroz con pollo which he enjoyed. The serving was quite large and he has atleast another two meals for later. Service was alright, but our server never came back to check on us. Overall, I'd say it was just okay and average.
