I wish common manners and personality came with this place. It's sad. The inside is set up nicely, roomy and great tvs. The wait staff little under educated as they dont know what mixed drink is. Bloody Mary simple can be vodka and tomato juice. But thats not a mixed drink according to waiter. After spending over $200 in less that 90 minutes , waiter said. Smithfield Hall is conveniently right around the corner from me so I decided to check it out for the first Patriots game of the NFL Season, which happened to be on at the same time as the US Open Men's Finals that my friend wanted to watch. I was told at the door that there were two "sides" inside and if we wanted to be able to watch both things at once, our best bet would be outside. They have TVs facing out so that you can see them from the outdoor tables. The ambiance and vibe inside and outside were completely different. Outside it was pretty chill while inside it was rowdy, crowded and loud. I was happy to be seated outside, even though it was a bit less lively. The die hard people seemed to be indoors if not for the reason there was no way to hear sound for the TVs outside (I put the game on my phone and put one airpod in to hear the sound). Outside there are maybe 6 (covered) picnic tables in street and 4 high tops on the sidewalk. You conveniently order and pay for all food and drinks via a QR code. Initially I grabbed an open picnic table but the TVs are "owned" by the table in front of them and we could only call dibs on what would be shown on one TV. Kevin was awesome and directed us to a high top that had two TV's right in front of it so that we could call dibs on so that we could watch both the US Open and the Patriots Game. They have a lot of game day specials and prices are very reasonable. There's a big beer menu as well as cocktails, wine, etc. I opted for a topo chico with tequila (upgraded to patron) and had the chicken panini. The fries were excellent and I ate all of them despite my intent not to. The panini came on a pita like bread which was great because it wasn't too bready. When I arrived, the security insisted on checking my ID, even though I told him I was only there for food, not drinks. Strangely, he let three other people in without checking theirs. After I finished eating, they added a 20% gratuity to the bill without informing me. I didn't want to argue, so I put down $30 and asked for the bill. They also refused to change one of the televisions to the match we wanted to see even though 95% of the televisions had the same game on. I was craving a burger so I found the closest pub to me! It was total pub vibes with dark lighting, high tables, and TVs. We came by around 9pm on a Friday night and it wasn't busy at all! We easily sat at a table, ordered our drinks and food through the app, and was served pretty quickly. I ordered their classic burger which was pretty basic but fulfilled my craving. The place was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon in the summer, but it was cool and had a good sports bar vibe. The staff got the audio setup for the game for the whole bar, and it turns out there were actually several other people there to watch the game too (they were pretty decent people, despite being Flounders fans). This is a cool, Loud, atmospheric sports bar. Plenty of beer on tap including some very good German beers. Their home light beer was very good as was the German lagger. They use an app to place orders and pay for your food and drinks. It's a very nice concept as you just place the orders on the app, everything shows up (well not fast but it does eventually) and when done you just click a button add a tip and go home. The drinks always came fast but the food? We ordered when we sat and it took probably 40 minutes to get the food. So how do they still get a 4? We only ordered two things but man where they good. The shrimp tacos were not big but had plenty of shrimp and tasted amazing. The guacamole was also out of this world. It came with thick non greasy chip and was a legit version of this dish everyone has on the menu. I probably would have ordered one more thing as neither of these was a larger dish (the sweet potato fries looked pretty swell) but frankly did not want to wait another 40 minutes.
