    Fried Whole Belly Clams
    Annabelle L.

Came here a few weeks ago on a weekday, easy to park, lots of amazing options. My favorite was the fried whole belly clams, so fresh, not greasy, light breading. My friend and I also got the crab quesadilla which was surprisingly quite good. The weather was perfect so it was nice to sit outside too!

From the food to the service, this is by far one of the best seafood restaurants in bay shore and by far the best of any by the ferry docks! As a big foodie I'm always looking for top notch seafood, and for such a small restaurant, they have always put out the best quality. Baked clams are to die for, calamari is always a banger, and the fresh oysters and clams are always delicious. They have great cocktails as well. Love the spicy watermelon margarita and joeys rum punch. Great start if you're going across to the island on the ferry.

Everything is fresh ! The Bloody Mary mix the chef makes his own, all the fish is fresh and all taste so good . I got the cob salad and it was delicious! It's right in the bay and it was wonderful

Super fresh seafood no matter what you order. Great little getaway spot for a bite and wine. Available both indoor and outdoor seating.

    Warm lobster roll with fries

I was a little bit confused when I parked. I wasn't sure where the "sit down" part was so I ended up ordering from the takeout/walkup window. I had to get a lobster roll before the end of the summer! I had heard a lot of things about Nicky's Clam Bar on Facebook, and I work right down the road...I knew I had to stop in. The lobster roll was delicious. It wasn't swimming in butter and the roll wasn't soggy. A very generous portion of lobster too! It was served with fries and there was a crisp pickle hiding under all of those fries. A very delicious lunch!

Would go again - I ordered the seafood bisque soup and lobster roll, which comes with fries. The soup has tons of seafood in it. The visual is quite alarming as it is very pink. However, that seems to be due to the heavy pieces of seafood in the soup so it is acceptable. Although the soup is too salty for me which is usually the case for a bisque, the many pieces of seafood swimming through the creamy soup is tasty for a bisque. It tastes more homemade than a chef serving it which is expected given the casual nature of Nicky's Clam Bar. The warm lobster roll was typical and nothing different than normal lobster rolls. The lobster itself was the perfect amount of salty and tender with the juiciness from the butter. However, I expect a good lobster roll to be different and unique than just good lobster on a roll. The bread was fluffy and good. Not just a wonderbread like how many serve lobster rolls. I recommend adding some interesting and unique toppings and sauce to differentiate from just a normal lobster roll.

Steamed Little Neck Clams weren't great - WAY too salty, and not much flavor other than salt

I had reached out online and Nikki, the co-owner, was prompt in responding with packages and options. I had shopped around with almost every restaurant in Bay Shore and their packages were the most reasonable. Communication with Nikki was seamless and easy. Booking required an upfront deposit, headcount was due 2 weeks before the event, and rest of the payment was due 1 week beforehand. We had the buffet style and got: -Choice of 3 cold platters: chopped iceberg salad, spinach salad, and orzo salad -Choice of one vegetable: grilled vegetables with balsamic glaze -Choice of starch: garlic mashed potatoes -Choice of pasta with an add-on pasta: penne ala vodka, orecchiette with sausage and broccoli -Choice of 2 hot entrees: bulgogi beef, seafood paella with an add-on salmon -Choice of 1 dessert: seasonal bread pudding The day of, I arrived about an hour early and set up was super easy as the upstairs is already gorgeously decorated for the holidays. The wait staff were already ready and very helpful in helping me bring in items. The sound system had Christmas music on already and they had set up part of the room with extra white linen tables for our white elephant activity and a DIY photobooth (which I brought). The entire event was wonderful and our group had a wonderful time. Every dish we got was INCREDIBLE and so tasty. There isn't a single dish that wasn't perfectly cooked and seasoned. My favorites were the the bulgogi beef, paella, salads, the orecchiette (but I'm a sucker for this dish), and bread pudding. The team was also very kind with dietary restrictions, putting meat/dairy salad toppings off to the side, and making vegetarian and vegan bibimbap bowls. Of note, their korean dishes are SPECTACULAR as Nikki's mom, Helen, is korean! Can't wait for next year's party and many of my team members are now interested in hosting their own parties here! Highly highly recommend!

Let's talk about that $25 Thursday girls' night deal a martini, fries, and a Caesar salad? Yes, please. I ordered a coconut mojito, but it tasted only like lime--there was no coconut flavor at all or any rum which would have been ok don't need it to be strong but tasted like you were sucking on a lime. Two of us ordered tortilla soup, which had no flavor! It didn't resemble tortilla soup at all.
