It was very unfortunate The experience I had today with my family. Besides the astronomical bill, they were out of the first four beverages we asked for they were out of the first two lunches we Asked for. We were at the Islip Beach on Friday August 16th ..... We paid in Cash a Total of $28.13 for 2-Sabrett Hot Dogs @$3.95 & 2-Frozen Strawberry (NON-Alcoholic) Drinks for our Grandchildren. They did not get their drinks when served the Hot Dogs and waited for a while & had to go the Counter to ask for the drinks ...they had to go back to the receipt with the name you give them. It appears these drinks cost about $10.00 EACH? Why Does Syrup & Crushed Ice cost this much? ..... Since they do not give Receipts... I did not think much of it until after we left ...also do not like the idea of no receipt and listing of what you ordered. read more

This place is okay for a quick bite to eat and drinks with a beach view. I wouldn't come here specifically for anything on the menu. I ordered a cranberry juice to sit and watch some waves & get some sun. Half way through my drink... I found what looked like a booger in my drink .. gross. But their waffle fries are not bad! Told hubby I felt like sitting by the ocean and listening to live music. Looked up this place on Yelp and they delivered. Ordered fries and onion rings to munch on while listening to the one man live band (he was really good and his variety of song choices was fantastic!). The fries and rings came out piping hot just like I like them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a playground area next to the restaurant so there were families out enjoying themselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The prices were a little high and the place could have been a little cleaner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't use the restrooms so can't report on that but it is right by the beach. It seemed to be the seating area and restrooms may have been more the town's responsibility than the restaurant's, not sure. The beach itself is quite rocky and could use some weed reoval but all in all, it was great for just sitting there listening to the waves and some mellow tunes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only one real complaint is there was a woman vaping right in front of the walk-up counter in clear view of the no smoking sign.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I asked the cashier did the sign include the seating area, the woman overheard me and got up to go down to the beach area. I appreciated her removing herself before anyone had to say something directly to her but I think the staff should be trained to politely ask them to follow the rules without any of the other customers having to say something first (the cashier told me it's common that people break that rule). read more

I felt like I was on vacation. The summer crisp early summer breeze combined with the playlist of incredible beach music made the atmosphere wonderful. For a while I forgot I was in NY. The restaurant is not hard to find . The space is limited . Unless you plan on picking up something and walking near by. I must say this is not the most scenic beach. So when you look out with the feeling of vacation and you don't see blue waves , it's kind of a let down. But that's no reflection on the restaurant. My husband and stumbled on this place and we really enjoyed ourselves. We loved the atmosphere . The service was quick and friendly . The food came out promptly. We didn't really order a large meal. Just a hotdog , coconut shrimp and drinks. Now about the taste of the food . Ok, that's why I have the place four stars. I would say the coconut shrimp was not the best. It lacked a certain jovial coconut taste . The fries were pretty standards . The Prosecco was just on the verge of alright . If the food was better , I think this place would have got the five stars. Although I may not order food but just a white claw. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Found this gem on a whim and random Sunday drive. The food isn't fancy but tasty and filling. We have been there for snacks and breakfast. Both kept me pleased. Boneless chicken wings were over crusted but that was the suppliers issue, and a tad dry but dipping sauce helped. Breakfasts are a pleasure, all fresh made. Try the blueberry pancake it's amazing, as is the ciabatta egg Sammie's. Coffe is good but the breakfast mix drinks are a pleasant surprise. These folks aim to please and the fact that you're sitting at the edge of the Great South Bay watching the world wake up it fantastic. Oh and they have live music most every night. read more

Come here for an awesome view and vibe! We got there at 530 and it was just getting busy by 630 the place was packed!! The food is good- great salad and po boy. The prices are high. They have seating down below as well on the beach which I wish Id had known. Also the sign to get in says residents only but no one was there checking. Came here after seeing a sign on Main Street in Islip. I've been looking for a good outdoor restaurant that serves good drinks. What better than on the Great South Bay? This place is right on Islip Beach. I was lucky enough to not have to show an Islip ID because I said I was here for the restaurant but I'm not sure what the normal policy is. I ordered the caprese salad and a piña colada. First off, I'm super picky about my piña coladas. This one was BANGIN. Super creamy. Super yummy. And NOT MADE FROM A PRE-MADE MIX!!!!! The caprese salad was HUGE, presented beautifully, smelled delicious and was AMAZING. Can't wait to come back Monday night for dinner with my mom to hear the live music!!!! read more

Great food and lovely ambience. This place is right on the water and is the perfect for a quick bite and/or a nice cold drink! Sal, the owner, is absolutely a gem. He greets each customer individually and makes sure everyone is okay. Thanks them for their patronage and makes sure to introduce himself to first time customers. He makes you feel like you're coming over to your family's place for dinner. It's absolutely wonderful. The prices are extremely affordable for any restaurant but especially since it's a beach front restaurant. There's enough beach to let the kids play, have fun, while you watch them and relax. It's a cute place for quick drinks but definitely not for food. We order the baked crab as well as the beef and chicken empanadas and I'm sorry to say but... they weren't very good. The empanadas were filled with some sort of mystery meat and very cold in the middle. The baked crab was also cold in the middle and piled high with melted cheese and imitation crabmeat. The woman who served us was very sweet but never asked why we barely touched our food. I guess she already knew the food was inedible and didn't want to mention it. This is a great casual place to go if you want a nice relaxed beach atmosphere. The food is good and so is the service. You can order your food at the outside hut or a waitress will come to your table. Our waitress was awesome...I just can't remember her name, but she was from Ireland and had the nicest personality. They have beer and wine, but if you want a drink with liquor we were told everything is wine based because they just have the license for beer and wine. I tasted my friends Tequila sunrise, it was okay, but I decided to stick with the wine, which was really good. We really liked this place because of the atmosphere and the service, and recommend it for a nice casual time when you want to just hang out at the beach and relax. read more

Nice little spot on the beach! I ordered a banana colada, very delicious! I could tell there were fresh bananas added to my drink! For my meal I had the mahi mahi sandwich platter. Very tasty and a huge portion! I mean, for the price I paid, I would say it's worth it. The fries were so crisp and fresh. Really enjoyed those. Being new to the South Shore, we had never been to Islip Beach, or Key West Beachfront Beer Garden. This seems like a really great place to meet up with friends to grab a couple drinks and some apps after a long day. We had a beautiful view of the Great South Bay and Fire Island Lighthouse from our table on the deck and it was a perfect late summer evening. Our waitress was very attentive and provided prompt service, but she seemed to be the exception. Unfortunately, our mixed drinks came out pretty weak and seemingly watered down. The food is good and there's decent variety too (but it didn't help our appetites that we had to watch the kitchen staff drinking and eating while prepping our food). Then surprise! If you pay with a card there's a 3.99% charge that's not posted anywhere visible to customers (so you better bring cash). We will definitely have to visit again....Maybe it was just an off night. read more

If I could I would give this place a 10 star review. My family and I frequent this place often, since we like going to the marina and this place offers great drinks at a reasonable price. One of the great surprises was finding they serve breakfast here. Makes for great Sunday brunch with the family. Everything thing just so freshly made and flavorful, from the pancakes, to the eggs and breakfast sandwich platters with home fries. Mimosas are top notch and the lemonade is great. The vibe is very much south Florida and key west. Sitting at the table looking out on the bay on a summer day you would think it was some beach bar in Key West. I think what makes this place over the top is the owner Sal. He comes to our table, introduces himself and gives our kids ice cream on the house. Have a great convo and we leave smiling and go for a swim in the beach. Great service, great hosts, great weather and great food. Fantastic. Literally called several friends after to recommend. Cannot say enough other than we look forward to coming back. Will definitely try the burger next time, since Sal says that's their signature dish. read more
