Went to happy hour today and goodness!! I had an amazing time at the bar. Happy hour starts at 3pm so you can order drinks and oysters until the kitchen opens at 4pm. Place is very spacious and the music is not too loud. Great atmosphere to have conversations with your party. The servers at the bar were very attentive and checked up on us often to see if we wanted any refills. The oysters were amazing and so fresh. The lobster roll was the star of the show and priced at $38 for their monday special so this was a great value.
Cane here with the boys for prime rib night, and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and the smoked old-fashioned was well worth the price. The wait staff were great and really enjoyed the vibe here. Will be back again for sure.
Love their happy hour! Baked clams and spinach dip were delicious. They also make a great espresso martini!
This place is a gem! They have such a great Happy Hour special where the oysters start at $1. We ended up getting a total of 100 between 4 of us and it was so fresh, well shucked and really good. Paired so well with their delicious, creative cocktails. We also started with the Burrata. It was really delicious with the marinated vegetables on the side (and this is coming from someone that doesn't love burrata). I also got the Lobster Roll and subbed the chips for fries and removed the celery (I'm a lobster roll purist lol). Although the roll was a tad on the smaller size, the lobster was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all. Jay was our waiter and he was such a vibe! What a great celebration we had. Definitely recommend!
Was in the area working and decided to eat here for lunch and it did not disappoint. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service from Mike and amazing tasting food. Will definitely eat here again.
I tried Salt & Barrel ages ago, and I was happy to give it a try again during the week of the Puerto Rican Parade. I wanted to love it, but a lot of things went wrong and I just can't get over it. There was a long wait if we wanted to sit inside, so we opted to sit outside since we'd be seated immediately. Maybe that's where I went wrong. At first, the service was great, but then through the middle of it, the waitress just disappeared. I ordered the sparkling water, and I didn't know it was a tiny bottle for each person. $5 each... (4 of us). She poured the sparkling water onto our cups, but by the third cup, I realized my cup was dirty. She stopped to get me a new glass, but she didn't replenish my sparkling water. That really aggravated me, I really tried not to let it get to me, but honestly, I'm still annoyed. The mofongo special was not customizable, so I couldn't have it due to my shrimp allergy. Our friend had it and he devoured it. I couldn't decide on what to eat so I just did the poke bowl. I had asked for my second drink to arrive with my dinner, but it arrived after I ate my dinner. For dessert, I was looking forward to the pastelito con guayaba y queso, but I found a hair in it... just my luck, the manager was nice enough to compensate it. My husband tried the tembleque but it wasn't sweet, the pistachio did not pair well with it. I won't be returning.
Came here for a long-overdue catch-up with one of my closest friends. The place was buzzing (always a good sign), we were seated without too much of a wait and immediately got into the good stuff. Let's talk about that $25 Thursday girls' night deal a martini, fries, and a Caesar salad? Yes, please. I upgraded to the parmesan fries for an extra $3 and have zero regrets, they were crispy, cheesy. and salty perfection. Of course, I couldn't ignore the oyster specials. $1 oysters + discounted varieties ($1 discount on every type of oyster) Dangerous. I ordered a dozen and shamelessly took them all down myself Fresh, briny, and absolutely worth it. My friend went the "balance" route with the grain bowl and added shrimp, which looked just as good as it tasted. Everything we had was on point. Service deserves a shoutout. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing smoothly without hovering. My martini was perfectly made (strong but smooth), and the overall vibe was lively, energetic, but still perfect for catching up. The vibe really made the night. Great food, great deal, great company. Honestly, it's the kind of spot that turns a casual night into a whole experience. I'll definitely be back.
Food and cocktails were insanely good! I came for happy hour after hearing great things, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The oysters were amazing, and they offer a great selection to choose from. I tried them all, and my favorites were the Pink Moon and Kumamoto. Everything about the meal was enjoyable. The ambiance was great, and the service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back!
Came on Thursday night for $1 oysters all night!! There was also the 25$ girls dinner which includes a martini, Cesar salad and fries LOL. Oysters were yummm. Girls dinner deal was not much of a deal but still yummy ofc. Clams and bone marrow was ok! Would come again :))
Came on Thursday around 3:15pm for their happy hour special. We ordered 18 oysters for $18. We also got some drinks, fries, and baked oysters. The food was great. The oysters that were $1 were from Point Grom, they were ok, but I think I like the oysters from Maine better. I think the ones from Maine were $4 a piece. Our bartender was really attentive and made amazing drinks. I had some coconut pineapple mocktail and it was so refreshing and tasty! I prefer the oysters with just a bit of lemon & cocktail sauce. Not a big fan of the oil based sauce that it comes with. Their kitchen openes at 4pm. So they gave us food menus at 4pm, in addition to the fries and baked clams, we also got creme Brulee for dessert. I was a bit disappointed, because the dessert menu said creme brulee with berries. And we got a single strawberry on ours. I think the description is kind of misleading. Probably would go somewhere else for happy hour. The $1 oysters weren't that good, and everything else was just out of our price range
Have always loved S&B as our go to oyster spot. I just had a baby and haven't been able to enjoy oysters for quite a while so we made a point to go for oyster week to try their oyster menu. We got there at 3:30 and by my own fault didn't realize they don't fully open until 4pm so we ended up at the bar with our stroller. We are lucky to have a great baby and he just slept for most of our time there. Where the staff at some places may have been rude about it, the bartender was so sweet and didn't make us feel badly at all! This was our first time really taking him out to a restaurant so we were very nervous about it. The oysters (as always) were fresh and delicious and they have the most delicious mignonette! We tried the fried oysters and the oyster flight off of the special oyster menu and everything was amazing. Off of the regular menu, the oysters Rockefeller and the le Tigre are both not to be missed. Overall, if you can't tell, I highly recommend you check this place out for oysters (and any of their other food)!!

I always opt for the $1 oysters. You can also add topping for an additional cost. Service was a little slow today I visit often and they are usually pretty fast when it comes to service. The service was attentive and ensured we were ok. Ambiance is modern one of the more classy looking restaurants on Main Street.
I've been here a couple of times for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The restaurant usually has some great specials and an impressive, rotating selection of east and west coast oysters. The servers are all well versed in the menu items, including the oyster selection, which is always a plus for me. Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. My only real critique is that the restaurant gets a bit loud, making it a tad difficult to hear but it's also a sign that the place is doing consistently well. read more
This place gets crowded. So be warned. I don't know if they have reservations so call and ask. They have seating outside. However, the seating in my opinion is on a tight spaced sidewalk where people and cars pass you by. It was crowded and our waiter was fine. The food took way too long to come out. It was like they forgot our order. It was happy hour for clams so that could have played a part. However, others had received their food before us. When the food finally came, the oysters were sad. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return. read more
Overall a 10/10 experience. I went at 5:30pm when oysters were a dollar a piece. The oysters were perfect, clean and flavorful. Mike was our server, he was attentive and friendly. It can get a little loud near the bar so if you are looking for a quiet area ask for the dining room. Will definitely be going again soon! read more

I went to Salt & Barrel in Bay Shore for happy hour. Their happy hour $1 oysters are incredibly fresh and flavorful. Easily some of the best around. Whether you're an oyster connoisseur or just looking to indulge, this is the place to be. Beyond the oysters, the ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to hang. The staff were fast and attentive making it more enjoyable. Whether you're stopping in for happy hour or a full meal, the experience here is top-notch. Highly recommend! read more
This is my new favorite restaurant in Bayshore! The Leche Tigre oysters are out of this world! My partner and I have raving about them ever since we tried them. Baked clams are also a must-- they are huge, well stuffed, and have great crab flavor. We also really liked the burger! Tuna tartare was "just okay" but the other food was so good that we didn't care! The cocktails are also delicious-- I got the prickly pear margarita with smoked salt. The service was also EXCELLENT! Let me tell you about this place. This place is all about its aesthetic! The vibes were there. The food was 10 out of 10!! We had oysters from all different states. It was amazing very fresh really liked the hot sauce, vinaigrette and the jalapeño chopped with onion vinaigrette. we also had linguine with clams for dinner,on the side we had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. I did not like the service we sat at the bar and the bartenders weren't very friendly. We did tip because that's who we are, but the service wasn't amazing. Appetizers were great! Definitely have to get the oysters there. I recommend west coast. But our entrees were very salty. I got the swordfish with the sausage rice. My bf got the seafood gnocchi. It tasted like clam chowder but with gnocchi and seafood. First few bites were good but then it got extremely salty. The service and ambiance were fantastic though. Friendly waitstaff and front of house. Bat area was bumpin! I'd go back for drinks and oysters. read more

Got off to a rough start but Manny our waiter & the manager more than made up for it. So on that we won't dwell. Drinks were perfectly prepared & the meal timing was impeccable. My Baked Clams were perfect. But the Fritto Misto was outstanding! Lightly battered, crispy yet tender Calamari and perfectly salted. I needed to add nothing. The hook for us was a hankering for some fresh oysters and seeing that they had many varieties brought us right in. We sat outside under the heat lamps on a nice evening and enjoyed the fresh air. A chicken fingers platter for the little one and then the oysters came! Perfectly shucked and chilled we started with some great selections from Massachusetts and Maine- and went back for another round. We also had a half dozen little neck clams. Also perfectly chilled and well presented. Afterwards my soup and octopus appetizer came out and truly one of the best tasting and presented appetizers we could remember. Definitely a top-3 octopus ever. Our server, Effie, was polite and friendly. He checked on us frequently as did many of the other staff working outside. Filled glasses and cleared plates regularly was a feature of our meal. Outstanding meal which could only be better if we were sitting on a beach. read more

i've been here twice and everytime i leave i start craving more oysters. they're so delicious here. i also loved my fig and burrata flatbread. they also do a girl dinner special which i think is so cute! always good service and ambiance. read more

The food was okay not my favorite for the season. The cowboy carter drink was everything. The service was great. Everyone's so sweet from the moment you arrive. I would come again to try other things. read more

Does happy hour oyster only for bar or even within seating reservations?

What is in the Creamy Lobster Broth in the Maine Pot? Is it made with any cream or cheese?
Hello Terry, the broth is a base of lobster stock and marinara. We used to give it a hit of cream to finish the sauce but we currently don't do that anymore.
What time is their happy hour? Any good specials?
Hello, happy hour is from 5 to 7 (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday), 4 to 7 (Friday) and 4 to 6 Saturday and Sunday. The oysters are all on special, as well as select wine, beer and spirits. See you soon.
