Every year my partner and I choose this restaurant as our anniversary dinner. The food is always amazing as well as the drinks. We love the clementine drink it is a must have if you go. The service is great and the mood of the place is always nice. It gets a little loud but I honestly don't mind it. I would definitely recommend coming here, I know I'll be back! read more

Had a great Father's Day dinner at Bar Clementine. We've always wanted to give this spot a try and we finally did. Service was a okay, it seems that they were a little bit short staffed, but they all pitched in to make things run smooth. This is a tiny spot but it has a nice classy touch to it. read more

Very charming decor inside, I really loved the colors and detail on the walls. The cocktails were so tasty, although pricey, the quality and flavors of the drink were excellent. If you like yuzu/lemon flavors, definitely get the Lovefool cocktail. I also enjoyed their steak here--both their frites and sandwich. Surprisingly flavorful and tasty! I would recommend bringing cash as there is an up charge using credit card here. The service here was very prompt and food came out at a decent rate. I would definitely recommend this spot for a date. read more

Enjoyed my first time here at this adorable and elegant restaurant. The decor is low key , simple yet lovely. When you walk in you see a large clementine inspired painting and a long bar which is the focal point of this compact restaurant . There is limited seating so you should definitely make a reservation . Our server was so friendly and polite .He continually checked in at our table to see if we needed anything .Thank you ! The menu is unique , offering a lot of creative dishes . We started with some cocktails, although the Clementine Cocktail is the signature drink I opted for the Quilty Pleasure , it was excellent made with tequila, coconut cream and strawberry .Yum! We then shared several appetizers starting with the mussel special served with warm soft bread for dipping .There was more than enough for the four of us to share . The mussels were delicious and perfectly cooked in the most delicate, flavorful light sauce . We also tried the mushroom arancini and mushroom strudel , both amazing and tasty. I ordered the Sliced Steak Sandwich which was served with fries and a small salad. It was quite a large portion , too much for one person to eat , definitely shareable ! The steak was seasoned perfectly and so tender. The red onion jam was the perfect complimented to this sandwich! The fries were very thin , tasty and crisp but on the salty side . Everyone enjoyed their dinners! Although I do feel the menu is a bit on the pricy side the food as well as the service was outstanding . I would definitely recommend stopping in and checking out this restaurant for yourself! read more

Cute French restaurant in Islip with very nice ambiance, comfortable seats and attentive staff. I've been here before but wanted to review it because it was a great experience again. I came with 2 girlfriends and we shared the Greek salad and scallops on special to start. Both were prepared nicely and it was the perfect amount for us to share. I got the pork chop served with sliced fingerling potato's and topped with the bacon. I enjoyed the dish but I felt the bacon took away from the juicy and tender pork chop I wish I was prepared a bit more simple. will def try something new next time. For dessert we shared a pumpkin something I can't recall but it was delish as well as the chocolate peanut butter soufflé: cocktails are also well made and delicious. read more

Another great experience. This time my husband tried the Dirty Gibson (don't recall the real name) but he said it was excellent, one of the best cocktails he's had. He never had a Gibson. He liked it so much, he ordered two. The Mixologist here at Bar Clementine definitely has a keen eye for detail and palate is spot on. I had the signature Bar Clementine cocktail. For me, it's the perfect drink. Not too boozy and just sweet enough for me. My husband loves it too. We ordered the Fritto Misto as an appetizer and it was perfectly seasoned. We can appreciate that. Very yummy with the capers and lemon aioli. Quite delicious and I would order again. We both ordered the steak which I ordered the last time. My steak was overcooked but they came back very quickly with a new steak. Our server was very apologetic and comp'd my cocktail, which I appreciated. I love that Bar Clementine is so crowded and popular and has such kickass food. Compliments to the chef, Mixologist and management. read more

Was looking for something different and definitely found it here! The food was outstanding from start to finish, the deviled eggs with fresh crab were packed with flavor, the crispy duck confit was perfectly cooked and generously portioned, and the grilled oysters were simple yet incredible. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance struck a nice balance between the modern bar area and the warm, authentic dining space. Every course, from appetizers to dessert, was a 10/10. This place is a true hidden gem, and I'll absolutely be back again and again! read more

Come before 6 p.m. on WTF! (Wed, Thurs, Fri) because it gets crowded fast. I dined here twice in two weeks. All portions are ample. For example, the Chicken Liver and Foie Gras Pate has enough Pate to feed two people. A hearty appetizer, it is velvety smooth and rightly paired with a pistachio topping. Perhaps my favorite appetizer is the Trio of Dips: Roasted Tomato White Bean, Truffled Honey Ricotta, Caramelized Onion. The latter two are so good that I am going to Google the recipe so I can make them for an upcoming BBQ. A shoutout goes to mixologists Tamra and Shannon for making the menu's amazingly creative cocktails. I recommend the Clementine Cocktail, which tastes like a boozy creamsicle. I promise to return to try some other items on the menu. I give Bar Clementine five stars way up! read more

We dined there on Saturday evening (5:30). The place was generally quiet and not very busy as we entered but within 30 minutes all tables were full and the bar was packed. Despite being full the service was excellent and the restaurant was not overly loud. We enjoyed 3 courses each - mushroom strudel / goat cheese tart were our appetizers, for our meal we both had the skirt steak and for dessert my wife enjoyed the peanut butter/chocolate and I had the pistachio mousse. All of the items were delicious. Much better than we had expected and served quickly. I would recommend this restaurant highly and we look forward to going back again many times in the future. read more

Nice, relatively new spot from the owners of the Lakehouse in Treme's old space on Main Street in Islip. The interior is well decorated, but with not a lot of seating, and the bar is beautiful. It's a little dark, which I like, but is not for everyone. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. No happy hour specials when we went, which was a bit disappointing, but the food we tried was pretty solid! The trio of dips was ok, and the arancini was savory and very good but could probably have used some sort of sauce. Drinks were ok, although the price for a non-alcoholic cocktail was more than a regular drink. Not sure I would've ordered it if the price had been displayed on the menu. Glad I checked this box, and has a nice array of French-inspired dishes I'd like to try, but not sure I'll be back any time soon. read more

Girlies come together! Bar Clementine has become my absolute favorite place when I want to lean into being a girl. The decor is warm and ultra-stylish, with irresistible pops of color. I am happy just from walking in. The bartenders are the most fun and friendly women ever, who make you feel like you are coming in to visit old friends. When you think things can't get better, the food and the drinks...wow! Small plates packing obscene amounts of salt and fat--the closest thing I can imagine hard drugs feeling like. But there are enough of these incredible small plates to choose from that you can share with your friends or eat them all yourself and still be so happy from being at Bar Clementine. read more

This place is adorable! We felt comfortable the minute we walked in. The hostess's was so sweet and sat us for our reservation right away. We of course had to try their signature Clementine drink. It was a nice change up from a glass of wine. Sweet but not overwhelming. It was very good. Definitely worth a try. We had the fritto appetizer which was rock shrimp, artichoke, zucchini and it was great. The simple salad was not as simple as we expected but in a good way. It was the perfect amount of dressing, tomato and corn on top. I know most people love a good truffle fry but my friend and I do not. Our waiter was so accommodating to get us regular fries even though he disagreed with our choose. lol He was very helpful and friendly our entire time which was a plus. We finished with the peanut butter dessert which was amazinnnng ! The colors and decor they picked really make it so warm and inviting. The detail in their plates, cups and menu did not go unnoticed. They have a huge bar with TVs as seating as well. They also have weekend brunch during the day which looked really good. Overall this was a great girls night or date night spot. read more

This place was so cute for happy hour or just for dinner. They had a lot of options of wine and cocktails. appetizers were delicious. We went there kind of late so we just got appetizers this time but I definitely want to go back and try their dinner. We had garlic fries, with crab filled deviled eggs, and a calamari fried mix that came with vegetables fried as well. We also got a dessert. We got the crème brûlée that came with a sugar cookie.Everything was amazing, for a drink of choice, we got the Clementine, which is their signature cocktail. read more

First time visiting this establishment. The decor was on point and beautifully set. Ordered a few cocktails and all were very good. The yellowfin tuna tartare was excellent, a must to have. For our entree we decided on the grilled marinated skirt steak frites which was prepared to perfection. The pan roasted sea scallops with tomato confit & butterbeans , delicious! The selection of cocktails, apps and entrees are a nice selection. Looking forward to going back. read more

We came here for a drink last weekend since we were in the area. While it had a cool vibe I was a little disappointed in the selection. I ordered a clementine martini which was recommended and was a good choice, however it was very overpriced. We got 3 drinks and it came to $60. We did not try the food so I can't speak to that. Maybe we will give it another shot during happy hour! read more

Came here a few weeks after they opened and was pleasantly surprised. The place is on the smaller side but cozy. I got their escargot to start which were perfectly cooked, buttery, with lots of garlic. For my main, I got the sliced steak sandwich which was AMAZING. Every component of this sandwich was so good: the onion jam, the truffle mayo, the peppery arugula, the wonderfully fluffy foccaccia, and the perfectly cooked steak. It came with fries and a wonderfully dressed salad. I am still thinking about this sandwich and salad--highly recommend! read more

Laid back and quiet cocktail bar. Great drinks and delicious food. Bartender friendly and knowledgeable. Will def be back.

Bar clementine is not only aesthetically cute but the food is also tasty delight. I wish I remember our severs name, he was fantastic. He seamlessly put our plates down without making a fuss on table even with all the plates we ordered and was also very attentive. We ordered a bunch or bar bites and apps but the entrees and sandwiches looked so good as well (def going back to try). We got the frito misto, the crab deviled eggs, the Arancini, clams casino fritters, the goat cheese tart and French onion soup. I always order deviled eggs when they're on the menu. Bar Clementine is of the better ones I've had on LI. That was my fave. I also thought the French onion soup was so hearty and cheesy and it was in the cutest crock. The arancini were earthy and cheesy from the mushrooms. The only app I would say I could've passed on was sadly the clams casino fritters. A bit skimpy on the clams. The drinks also looked delicious. We got a Riesling a purple rain and flowers. The rest of the drinks are also enticing. I can't wait to go back. read more

Great Dining experience at Bat Clementine. The place is tiny and if you show up before your table is ready on a busy night you kind of have to stand awkwardly at the front but if there is a seat at the bar you're in luck. The bar was packed and that's a good sign for a week day! While I waited I got some drinks and the table was ready shortly after. Server was very attentive and great with recommendations. The drinks are not filled with shaved ice like Bayberry and actually have alcohol in them and not a spray bottles worth. They were both really delicious. The cinnamon girl is very similar to a margarita and was great. The options for the apps and small plates were so good! Highly recommend the tomato bisque and the Arranchini (they are great they don't even need a dipping sauce). The meal was surprisingly better than expected and good portion! For dessert I ordered a peanut butter chocolate cake thing and it was also amazing! Overall, cute little place for a date night with quality food. P.s the people next to me ordered the Escargo and although I don't eat that; it smelled amazing and they were raving about it, they didn't love the salmon pizza though. Try it out! read more

This place just didn't hit. First of all we tried to come two weeks ago but there was a glitch on their open table that sent the reservation to their sister restaurant-lake house-instead and they couldn't accommodate us so we tried again & honestly wasn't worth the wait. Decor was nothing special and service was mediocre alongside subpar food and outrageous drink prices. We started with the Fritto misto which was a random mix of fried stuff thrown in a bowl that looked like it had been dropped before it was brought over the way it was so messily thrown in there and it was not very good. The artichokes were too hard and the fish was too fishy. We also got the mushroom arancini which tasted frozen not fresh but they were ok. For the entree I got the steak sandwich with truffle fries and my friend got the chicken sandwich. Mine was very good-a nice flavor combo with the onion jam, however, I wish the bread had been toasted. The fries were far too skinny and tasted more like garlic parmesan than truffle and a little too greasy. My friend said the raspberry jam on her chicken sandwich was not good and tasted more like a strawberry jam than raspberry. They upcharge for credit card too but with a $17 drink they could easily foot the bill for those charges. read more

The clementine cocktail was to die for. But everything else fell flat. The lavender and the watermelon sugar cocktail were okay. But nothing compared to the clementine. We had the arancini, three dip trio, steak, and scallops. The arancini was good. The dips were okay. They were missing something. Wouldnt recommend. The steak was good, but not worth the price. And the scallops were good too. But also not good enough for the price. $200+ later and still feeling a bit unsatisfied. But i would go again just for the clementine cocktail. read more

Went to Bar Clementine for 1st time on a Wed, 5pm. Was immediately impressed by the ambience. We sat at the Bar - the service was attentive and the cocktails and food were very nice. We started with cocktails - mine was a Boulevardier and my date had a French Martini - both prepared nicely. For appetizers we had the Clam Fritters and Oysters. I had the Duck Confit appetizer for my main; and my date had the Scallops. We shared the Banana pudding for desert. Will definitely return for a second go. That said, given Bar Clementine's self described Paris Happy Hour and Bistro inspiration, we were somewhat surprised that a few Parisian Bistro staples were absent - The Bar was lacking Pernod, Ricard and Absenthe - much to my chagrin, I was not able to have either of my 2 Parisian bistro fav cocktails: a Pastis or a Sazerac Cocktail. Would also have welcomed Menu inclusions of a Croque Madame Entree and Crepes on the Dessert menu. [Note to Bar Clementine - we can only hope these absentees will be added to Bar Clementine's Bar and Menu soon.] read more

Honestly just what Islip needed. Although I will miss Treme. Perfect French bistro. Very good small menu. Excellent mussels always seem to be on special prepared different ways weekly. Nice wines by the glass..thank you for having a grenache available. Adult clientele. Good talented bartenders. Wish them years of success. read more

I have been wanting to check this place out. Stoped by for a drink and an appetizer at about 8:30. The place is beautiful. I was excited when I saw on the menu that it was managed by the lake house but I was a little confused by the menu having two different prices for everything. (It Had the up charge for using a card). I sat at the bar. The bartender (young guy, very nice) informed me that the kitchen closes at 9. I had the escargot and a whiskey. Both were fine. I also tried their tap beer it was good. For the prices, I was underwhelmed. $14 bucks for whiskey they buy for about $45. 800% mark up. $9 for a 12 oz tap beer. I will say that the staff cleaned the place constantly for the time I was there. Maybe the cleanest restaurant I have ever seen. The staff was very professional. Maybe a nice place to try and impress a date. not sure the value was there. read more

Overall great experience! Just what I expected from the owners of The Lakehouse. Great drinks and appetizers. The steak sandwich was amazing. My only suggestion is that the " Greek Salad" had very minimal amounts of feta. I honestly couldn't find any. When I order a Greek Salad I expect a generous slice or two.
