    Pork chop

Cute French restaurant in Islip with very nice ambiance, comfortable seats and attentive staff. I've been here before but wanted to review it because it was a great experience again. I came with 2 girlfriends and we shared the Greek salad and scallops on special to start. Both were prepared nicely and it was the perfect amount for us to share. I got the pork chop served with sliced fingerling potato's and topped with the bacon. I enjoyed the dish but I felt the bacon took away from the juicy and tender pork chop I wish I was prepared a bit more simple. will def try something new next time. For dessert we shared a pumpkin something I can't recall but it was delish as well as the chocolate peanut butter soufflé: cocktails are also well made and delicious.

Another great experience. This time my husband tried the Dirty Gibson (don't recall the real name) but he said it was excellent, one of the best cocktails he's had. He never had a Gibson. He liked it so much, he ordered two. The Mixologist here at Bar Clementine definitely has a keen eye for detail and palate is spot on. I had the signature Bar Clementine cocktail. For me, it's the perfect drink. Not too boozy and just sweet enough for me. My husband loves it too. We ordered the Fritto Misto as an appetizer and it was perfectly seasoned. We can appreciate that. Very yummy with the capers and lemon aioli. Quite delicious and I would order again. We both ordered the steak which I ordered the last time. My steak was overcooked but they came back very quickly with a new steak. Our server was very apologetic and comp'd my cocktail, which I appreciated. I love that Bar Clementine is so crowded and popular and has such kickass food. Compliments to the chef, Mixologist and management.

Was looking for something different and definitely found it here! The food was outstanding from start to finish, the deviled eggs with fresh crab were packed with flavor, the crispy duck confit was perfectly cooked and generously portioned, and the grilled oysters were simple yet incredible. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance struck a nice balance between the modern bar area and the warm, authentic dining space. Every course, from appetizers to dessert, was a 10/10. This place is a true hidden gem, and I'll absolutely be back again and again!

    Mussels and tuna tartare

The tuna tartare is just like the lakehouse which i love and is why i came. The clementine drink was quite literally the best tasting "orange creamscicle" drink i have ever tried. The food was phenomenal!

Small, intimate, and beautifully decorated with a menu and staff that matches the aesthetic. Superbly made cocktails and impeccably crafted food with excellent service makes this spot one of my favorites!

Come before 6 p.m. on WTF! (Wed, Thurs, Fri) because it gets crowded fast. I dined here twice in two weeks. All portions are ample. For example, the Chicken Liver and Foie Gras Pate has enough Pate to feed two people. A hearty appetizer, it is velvety smooth and rightly paired with a pistachio topping. Perhaps my favorite appetizer is the Trio of Dips: Roasted Tomato White Bean, Truffled Honey Ricotta, Caramelized Onion. The latter two are so good that I am going to Google the recipe so I can make them for an upcoming BBQ. A shoutout goes to mixologists Tamra and Shannon for making the menu's amazingly creative cocktails. I recommend the Clementine Cocktail, which tastes like a boozy creamsicle. I promise to return to try some other items on the menu. I give Bar Clementine five stars way up!

Girlies come together! Bar Clementine has become my absolute favorite place when I want to lean into being a girl. The decor is warm and ultra-stylish, with irresistible pops of color. I am happy just from walking in. The bartenders are the most fun and friendly women ever, who make you feel like you are coming in to visit old friends. When you think things can't get better, the food and the drinks...wow! Small plates packing obscene amounts of salt and fat--the closest thing I can imagine hard drugs feeling like. But there are enough of these incredible small plates to choose from that you can share with your friends or eat them all yourself and still be so happy from being at Bar Clementine.

Nice, relatively new spot from the owners of the Lakehouse in Treme's old space on Main Street in Islip. The interior is well decorated, but with not a lot of seating, and the bar is beautiful. It's a little dark, which I like, but is not for everyone. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. No happy hour specials when we went, which was a bit disappointing, but the food we tried was pretty solid! The trio of dips was ok, and the arancini was savory and very good but could probably have used some sort of sauce. Drinks were ok, although the price for a non-alcoholic cocktail was more than a regular drink. Not sure I would've ordered it if the price had been displayed on the menu. Glad I checked this box, and has a nice array of French-inspired dishes I'd like to try, but not sure I'll be back any time soon.

This place is adorable! We felt comfortable the minute we walked in. The hostess's was so sweet and sat us for our reservation right away. We of course had to try their signature Clementine drink. It was a nice change up from a glass of wine. Sweet but not overwhelming. It was very good. Definitely worth a try. We had the fritto appetizer which was rock shrimp, artichoke, zucchini and it was great. The simple salad was not as simple as we expected but in a good way. It was the perfect amount of dressing, tomato and corn on top. I know most people love a good truffle fry but my friend and I do not. Our waiter was so accommodating to get us regular fries even though he disagreed with our choose. lol He was very helpful and friendly our entire time which was a plus. We finished with the peanut butter dessert which was amazinnnng ! The colors and decor they picked really make it so warm and inviting. The detail in their plates, cups and menu did not go unnoticed. They have a huge bar with TVs as seating as well. They also have weekend brunch during the day which looked really good. Overall this was a great girls night or date night spot.

This place was so cute for happy hour or just for dinner. They had a lot of options of wine and cocktails. appetizers were delicious. We went there kind of late so we just got appetizers this time but I definitely want to go back and try their dinner. We had garlic fries, with crab filled deviled eggs, and a calamari fried mix that came with vegetables fried as well. We also got a dessert. We got the crème brûlée that came with a sugar cookie.Everything was amazing, for a drink of choice, we got the Clementine, which is their signature cocktail.

First time visiting this establishment. The decor was on point and beautifully set. Ordered a few cocktails and all were very good. The yellowfin tuna tartare was excellent, a must to have. For our entree we decided on the grilled marinated skirt steak frites which was prepared to perfection. The pan roasted sea scallops with tomato confit & butterbeans , delicious! The selection of cocktails, apps and entrees are a nice selection. Looking forward to going back.

As mentioned they try to offer fresh, seasonal apps, handhelds, salads and entrees. The protein entree options only offer two to three chicken, pork, steak, seafood selections along with a couple of pasta infused dishes. They have a full bar, so if a beer or cocktail is wanted you do have options there as well. The Mr selected the Chilled Shrimp & Crab Stack, but eliminated the hard boiled egg aspect and thought it was light, tasty and refreshing. I opted for the Faroe Salmon with shrimp that came accompanied/on top of a risotto and peas. I thought cooked medium was perfect making it soft and fork flaky to mix along together. It was a very juicy sizable piece making it very filling. We didn't have time for a dessert, but noted they did have a few offerings there. Also noted they had very well kept mens/woman's and family restroom with baby changing table. Thanks! Would highly recommend this location to others.

As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostesses and brought to what felt like the best table in the house. Our server came over almost immediately and got us started with drinks. I ordered the Brooklyn Summer draft while my husband went with the Coconuts for You cocktail. He absolutely went coconuts for it (I had to!!). He said it reminded him of our honeymoon in Hawaii, and after a sip, I could definitely see why. For our appetizer, we debated between the fried pickles and the wings before deciding on the wings and we are so glad we did. They were perfectly cooked, but the real star was the homemade blue cheese. It absolutely lived up to the hype. For our entrées, we ordered the Ultimate Chicken Francese and the Seafood Fra Diavolo. The chicken had a really nice kick of spice that elevated the classic dish without overpowering it, while the Seafood Fra Diavolo was packed with fresh seafood and bold, flavorful sauce. Even though we were full, dessert was a must. We shared a tartufo along with a chocolate cherry espresso martini, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal (the martini may not have been shared.) Between the welcoming service, delicious food, creative cocktails, and the ambience, Jackson Hall knocked it out of the park. We can't wait to come back and try even more of the menu!

Robin entered the building it's Memorial Day and there was just a three top there so when we walked in, Joe was attending to the people at his top but when he saw us, he expertly expedite himself from them to come and greet us and welcome us to your establishment top shelf automatically we sat down. We were waiting for another couple to join us. We had a nice conversation with him and he gave us drinks at the bar explained we're waiting for another couple to come. He said no problem when they get there we'll take it through table and that's what he did. The other couple of rides we sent the table. Wonderful service came up spoke to us very very attentive went over the menu with us gave the specials was absolutely incredible. Then I realize that he was all alone in the bar, not only was attending to us. He was only also attending to the other top plus, he was the bartender and the waiter and whoever was working in the back though your kitchen also wonderful then the place lit up there was a table of four came in another table of two and another top of two. This kid didn't even flinch. Continue to take care of every one of us very attentive and then the doors open up he had about 25 people altogether came in and came up to the bar. This kid did not flinch. He took care of them still attentive to us taking care of that baby at the bar, he put a high chair from this kid, amazingly took care of the whole bar and the dining room by himself. I am saying this to you because I am I am was previously a borrower in many many years I own two bus I have never seen one guy take care of a place of drinks, bar table tops food, greetings hospitality. You have a gem with this guy Joe I offered to help him as much as I could cause I saw that you know it was just overwhelming. He said I will take care of everything as his quote to me. I got you I said if you need me, I'm right here because I've seen it before this kid took care of a full bar too deep I might say also six tables of average three to table and just made your place run amazing so my advice is this when you find the guy like Joe you hold onto this kid like Grimm death and don't let go employees like a guy like Joe a few and far between you would do your company and yourself a service to make sure that you hold onto him and make him happy and keep him with you because there was never I've never seen a better ambassador for any place that I've gone to then watching this kid work today again I'm a bar owner. I've been a restaurant business. I'm a chef and I have never seen one kid run a place like that kudos to him. Kudos to you for hiring them and kudos to you if you hold onto it again unbelievable great experience. I will recommend your place. I will recommend to my friends as I had that my friends called to stay today. I will continue to do so as long as you continue to have people like Joe work for you. Great job all around. The tacos were only $1 off the regular price, and they were the smallest tacos I've ever seen. Even with the discount, they still felt overpriced for the portion size. We ordered three carne asada tacos, one chicken taco, one al pastor taco, and the cotija fries. The food was just okay, nothing that stood out or made me want to come back. The service was also just okay. Our waitress wasn't very personable. I ordered the Island Rum Punch, and it was terrible. When I mentioned that it didn't taste right, she explained they were out of one of the liquors that normally goes into the drink. She never offered to replace it or let me choose something else. Instead, I ended up asking for more simple syrup just to make it somewhat drinkable. The entire experience felt mediocre and lackluster. Between the disappointing food, underwhelming service, and poorly handled drink issue, it just wasn't money well spent. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning to this establishment.

Whether you're looking to grab a drink, share some appetizers, or sit down for dinner, it's a great setting. I visited last week with my family, and the appetizers were definitely the highlight of the meal. We ordered the Magnolia Flatbread, Burrata, and Baked Clams. The flatbread is an absolute must-order, it was outstanding and easily the favorite dish of the night. The burrata and baked clams were also very good. For our entrees, my dad and I both ordered burgers. While they were flavorful, they were unfortunately overcooked. I ordered mine medium and my dad ordered medium-rare, but neither burger had any pink in the center. My wife ordered the Tuna Sliders from the appetizer menu and they weren't what she expected; she said she wouldn't order them again. My mother enjoyed the French Dip and thought it was very good from what I tried. Magnolias serves "cottage fries" instead of traditional French fries. They're essentially thick-cut fried potato slices--more like a hearty potato chip. While it's an interesting twist, I'm a French fry person and personally prefer traditional fries. My wife and I both ordered the truffle cottage fries, and they came out quite soggy, likely from sitting in too much oil. We mentioned it to our waitress, who agreed after seeing them and kindly removed them from the bill. Overall, Magnolias has a great atmosphere, excellent appetizers, and a unique setting that makes it worth visiting. While there were a few issues with some of our entrees and sides, I'd definitely return, especially for drinks and appetizers in the courtyard.

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once.
