This is perhaps a preemptive review in some ways. You see Fire Island Vines is planning to play a big part in our lives in a few months, but more on that in a sec. I'll start off by saying that my wife and I came here on a Friday at the beginning of the summer to actually sit and have dinner, which turned out to be quite a tasty treat. The interior of FIV has a somewhat rustic/beachy vibe that works well for its Bay Shore location and feels at home on Long Island. It's got a nice bar and a decent seating area where we pulled up a table and were helped by the staff who were friendly and attentive. Besides the importance of good feels from the workers, the food and drink is where it might matter most and Fire Island Vines doesn't fall short of doing this. With a somewhat Mediterranean/Greek/Italian direction to their foods you'll find some delicious dips (spicy feta, hummus), savory chicken skewers, and crispy pizzettes which was just about everything we ordered. There's much more than that here and of course plenty of chances to wine while you dine. I instead ventured to the house sangria which was delightful while the wife had a concocted mocktail she really enjoyed. And, therein lies the biggest hint to why FIV will mean a lot more to us in just a few months as my wife and I are expecting our first child and the baby shower is planned for right here within these walls. So far all planning has been fantastic and owner Angelo has been very kind and accommodating. We're looking forward to our full festivities, but for now I'll wrap things up by saying this spot will be holding a special place in our hearts and so I wanted it to be my 1,000th review on Yelp to be even more memorable. With all that in mind (and trying not to get too sentimental on Yelp!), check out Fire Island Vines for some weekend dinner or an event and be ready for some greatness. read more

Fire island vines hosts our book club once a month! Inside is super spacious, the food is pretty good, I love the pizza but the charcuterie wasn't that great for the price. However service was nice and fast! read more

Don't host events here unless you want the manager breathing down your neck, rushing you and hearing his phone on max volume during a speech. The manager or whoever that middle age short guy with the glasses is but they need to get rid of you. He's absolutely a creep. Do NOT come here unless you're ready to have a middle aged man rush you like his life depended on it !!!! read more

What a ridiculous experience. We made a reservation at this place and arrived to find that a private event was taking place at the same time. That's not necessarily a problem--businesses can host private events while remaining open to other guests. The problem was that when I needed to use the restroom, I was told I had to wait until the private event was over because the restrooms were reserved for event guests. If that's the policy, then why are you accepting reservations for other patrons at the same time? Basic amenities like restroom access shouldn't be unavailable to paying customers. It's completely unreasonable to invite guests onto your property, take their reservation, and then tell them they can't use the restroom. The whole situation felt poorly planned and incredibly inconsiderate. If a private event prevents you from providing normal accommodations to other guests, then either don't accept additional reservations or make alternative arrangements. This was a frustrating experience and not one I would choose to repeat. read more

They offer small bites. If you love a good charcuterie board this is the place. I opted for the chefs choice and they will choose the cheese and meat I love a good surprise. Service is always on point they never disappoint. They allow you to taste the drinks before hand to ensure you are satisfied. Beautiful decor perfect for a private event, an outing with friends or a date night. They offer beer, wine, and cocktails. read more

What a fantastic place! Everything. The food, the wine, the ciders and beers, the live music and most especially the service. First, the food is legit Greek. We've been to Greece and FIV's food is the closest we've had since coming back home to Long Island. Their drink selection was varied and excellent. Our server was both sweet and knowledgeable. The owner was an absolute gentleman and sent us home with a sample of olive oil he imports from Greece (he uses it in the Village Salad - try it - it's like going to Greece for a fraction of the cost). Overall A++ experience! read more

Hosted my mom's birthday lunch here it was great! The owner, Angelo, is very friendly. The table was set up beautifully when we arrived. Food and drinks were excellent. Large portions. Fair prices. They even gifted my mom a wine bottle that we all got to sign! Would highly recommend this place for any event or just a fun time! read more

We went to Fire Island Vines for lunch withy daughter and son in law as we are planning a baby shower and thought we'd check it out. We LOVED the place. The food was delicious. We had the Margarita pizza and arugula prosciutto pizza. Both delicious! And we had chicken skewers which were also delicious. We inquired about the baby shower and Angelina sold us right away. She is so pleasant and down to earth with a beautiful smile. I highly recommend Fire Island Vines! read more

Highly recommend Our first experience here was extremely positive. We will return, highly recommended. The layout vibe is tastefully done. You get the sense of walking into a clean, farm-fresh, open, inviting vineyard tasting room, Without the hassle of traveling to the east end or Napa Valley. The space is large, open and professionally laid out. The place comfortably accommodate large groups and small gatherings at the same time. Service was exceptional and professional. The owner and his family were present. The owner took the time to come to our table and speak with us. We think thats a very good sign of owner buy in and usually the sign of an experienced and successful food service professional. They have an interesting wine menu and sample options. We had some local beer flight samples. They have a nice tapas style food menu with a noticeably Greek flair. We had a warm pita app with hummus, Greek style yogurt dip, and spicy feta. Delicious! We also had a delicious thin crust prosciutto and arugula pizza. Double delicious! We will return. This is a good choice for catering, large groups or a small gathering of two or even one person. read more

Came as the first stop of my bachelorette party. Angelo and Annie were there ready to greet and make this a special day. We had various eats and tastings. Angelo was kind enough to give me words of wisdom and a bottle for the girls to sign as a memory of our visit. Side bar, they are not a true restaurant but their food was good. The buffalo chicken pizzette... DELICIOUS! We all enjoyed. Thank y'all so much for an amazing time. read more

We had my daughter's Baby Shower here. The owner is very hands on and even helped us put up decorations. He is just awesome!!! Knowledgeable, kind and easy to work with. The venue is beautiful with a real Long Island Beach feel. We did a brunch with 64 people the food was great and plentiful, the drinks were great and everyone left happy and satisfied. I would do another party there in a heartbeat! However, now I'm just looking forward to going there to have some food, wine and just relax. I love this place! read more

The sole employee in this place on a weeknight was able to handle a few tables and bar patrons. Once it hit 20 people she was overwhelmed and the only other person there was my best the owner and he just kept his head buried in his laptop. She couldn't keep up with making cocktails which has been recently added as a new option and take orders and closeout checks. One group of 3 came in before 8pm which is when the kitchen closes and still had no service after 8pm. I hope they weren't hungry. Strawberry cider was good, initially had a good Strawberry flavor. Mojito drink was too sweet and not enough mint. Pizza was burnt on one whole half. Lamb/beef gyro meat was overcooked, dry and crunchy that it actually poked my gum line. When we mentioned it was not as expected all that we were asked was if we wanted it wrapped to go. WRONG response. Lemon soup was good. The pita bread was cold that came with the dips, it came straight out of the plastic bag and was cut into triangles. We had high hopes when we arrived, this is a one and done. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! My husband and I hosted our welcome party at FIV the night before our wedding. Our party was from 6pm-9pm and we had a medley of appetizers, open taps bar, and catered buffet style dinner for 60 people. The space was perfect for that amount of people. Angelo was our point of contact from the beginning and he was AMAZING to work with. He was so accommodating, responsive, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We were able to arrive an hour before the event to set up our decorations. Angelo and his staff helped us set up and couldn't have been nicer. The event ran smooth and on time. Angelo even helped us pull off a surprise to two of our guests who had birthdays that day. Every single person I talked to that attended my party couldn't say nicer things about FIV. The space was already decorated so nicely that it didn't need much from us which was super helpful. The food was delicious and we were able to take the leftovers home which was a nice plus. Overall, my welcome party at FIV was the best night ever. I can't wait to go back to visit next time I'm in Bay Shore. If I need to host another event again, you can guarantee it will be at FIV. I have also been telling all my friends that they need to go there - if you're reading this, you should too!!! HUGE thank you to Angelo and his staff for a wonderful evening! read more

I have been so excited to try this brand new bar/small plates restaurant. During this time in the world, I was happy to see that they offer safe curbside pick up. We ordered most of the offerings from the menu. The Greek Meze sampler is the way to go if you want to try all of their homemade dips. ALL were fresh and amazing. The salad was fresh as well, perfectly dressed and with high quality ingredients. Truly, everything was extremely fresh and delicious. I love how they offer local beverages and really great prices. The inside is huge and can accommodate people at tables and a bar. I look forward to when restaurants reopen and can dine in, in person. read more

We came here to celebrate my dad's birthday and had an amazing time! Amazing ambiance, decor is beautiful, very friendly owners/staff! My dad is a very picky eater so it's always hard finding places he would enjoy. We ordered a variety of things from their menu and enjoyed them all. Although they specialize in beer, cider, and wine, they had a decent food menu that goes beyond your average snack menu you would usually find at places like this. The owner is Greek so there are traditional Greek items on the menu. We had Greek fries, chicken and shrimp skewers, village salad, and beef/lamb/chicken gyros. Everything was tasty and we left full. I live in New Jersey so I won't be able to come often but my parents definitely enjoyed themselves and said they would be back! Definitely stop in if you have the chance. read more

I received a Groupon from my best friend for food and drinks. My husband and I went on a cute date night. We both loved it. The drinks were great as were the plates we shared. My husband got the wine flight and we loved the sangria and pineapple cider. We got a charcuterie board which was amazing. I loved that the charcuterie board included macarons which are my favorite. The pizza was delicious . My husband loved his gyro. Everything was delicious. We both agree we will be coming back. The service was a great as well. Can't wait to return. read more

Stopped in for the first time not knowing what to expect. The bartender was very nice. However when we asked for a wine that she was not sure if they served the person that was asked gave a very rude "Absolutely Not" reply which was loud enough for us to hear and almost made us walk out. That was uncalled for and could have been handled better. The response should have been, let them know that unfortunately we do not serve that here please take a look At the wine list , or here is something that we think you might like instead. Either way one of those replies would have been welcomed. We stayed for a glass of sangria and a glass of red the place was filling up for dinner and they had live music which is always a plus for me, but not sure yet if I will ever go back. read more

I visit this place once a month to hear my favorite band perform. They have a light Mediterranean menu that is relatively inexpensive and tasty. We usually order the shrimp skewers (2 skewers of shrimp for about 15 bucks) and a salad. The hummus is good. It's primarily a wine bar, and since I don't drink wine, I can't comment on that portion of the business. Service is good, and the place is clean, and spacious . The restrooms are clean and stocked with paper towels. read more

Always a great spot. Today we stopped in to just grab a drink. Lovely options of craft beers and local wines. However today we met up with friends that we weren't expecting and decided to get some pizzas. We ordered the margarita pie wow amazing. The sauce was perfect, crust Thin and crunchy. Our waitress was very helpful choosing the perfect wine to go with the our pie. A little annoyed at myself that I didn't get pictures. Next time for sure. read more

This is a fantastic place. I'm glad that they survived COVID. Please, go out and support them. I had a chance to talk the owner Tessi and she is so delightful.
