This is a cozy seating area on the way out to the patio

Beautiful ambience very inviting and warm and cozy. When you walk in the bar is gorgeous. The back patio is really very nice as well. Parking is very convenient by the way plenty of parking in front and around the restaurant..... no meters to concern yourself about which is also awesome. This is my first time here the barmaid was very accommodating and made us feel comfortable and welcomed.. It wasn't very crowded at the time which was perfect to be able to execute this visit with my thoughts on the experience. The bar made with Great made excellent drinks. She recommended a nice antipasto for us customized actually.... Everything was fresh the meat refreshed the cheese is refreshed. The bread was delicious. Everything was perfect and on point...... I highly recommend this place for a meeting, first date a light by just to get out. Definitely a place I will be coming to again in the near future.

    Dry and hard to eat.

Went for wine and appetizers with my husband. Wine and service were OK though for a wine bar I expected even more choices of wine by the glass. It was the food that gets them two stars. We got rice balls that were just 4 little gummy balls with some cheese inside. We also had the fig and prosciutto flatbread, the 4 tiny pieces of flathead tasted like a hard cracker with a tiny bit of dried out prosciutto and fig on it. For some reason they put a blue orchid flower on the plate to make it look better. They need to skip the flower and make better food. Too many better places in Patchogue to go back.

Food was subpar. Highly suggest staying away for anyone that's an actual foodie. The tuna tartare was over saturated with lime juice and giant chunks of tuna and every dish and drink is complimented with an inedible flower that has plagued food for far too long

I can only speak on the atmosphere, service and wine. I stopped in for a drink with friends. We did not order any food but I look forward to going back and ordering. Excellent wine list. Lots of choices. Large bar area. Cute side seats. I liked the atmosphere. Staff was friendly.

always a great night! He of my favorites with a great staff and my favorite food and drinks.

I'm obsessed with this place! Beautiful bar and lovely cocktail menu as well as charcuterie boards. I came here with a girlfriend the other week and lost my engagement ring in the restroom.. called here as a last resort and they had kept it for me! Not only did they save me from a painfully awkward conversation with my fiance, but the lovely bartender provided me with a glass of prosecco and a gratitude for finding the owner of the lost ring! Cheers Virgola!

My husband and I have been curious about Virgola Wine Bar since we moved to Patchogue, but never got a chance to stop in as we were unfamiliar with their hours. For my birthday this year, my husband suggested going to check it out (this was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving) and they had a Wednesday special going on which was half off wine bottles. We figured we would grab a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine and just relax. And that's exactly what we did! We tried a couple of samples of wine before landing on the Sangiovese red wine, which was absolutely delicious. We grabbed the bruschetta- Classico ($12) and three of our favorite cheeses (burrata, parmigiano reggiano, and raschera) which were reasonably priced ($8 each), and the portions that were given made that price totally worth it. Everything we ate was tasty and we couldn't even finish the cheeseboard between the two of us which we can normally do so we definitely left full and happy. We did run out of bread at one point but just we asked for more and they brought it right over. The vibe in there is very calm and relaxing. There were several people in there but everyone seemed to be unwinding and hanging out with friends so that was nice. It's dimly lit so it definitely gives those city wine bar vibes. I will definitely be bringing some of my friends to Virgola! Just need to find the right day since they have daily happy hours/promotions. Check it out for sure!

Still love this place. THE BEST SPOT IN PATCHOGUE. Relaxing and love the decor and food. Drinks are amazing and the menu keeps expanding. Ask for Luigi.

I'm giving 3 1/2 yelp stars to newcomer Virgola Wine Bar. My wife and I walk into a nice looking decorated space. Slate gray colors, nice looking bar and in the back are a few 4 tops to kick back. There are higher tables hugging the walls, all back tables were filled up so my wife & I sat at a high top. So far so good. I like to play possum and ask questions about the different wines. If I'm at a wine bar, I except to have the server knowledgeable on what's being served. I asked for a taste of their Barbera, it tasted weak? I switched it up to their Montepulciano. Maybe it's me but what I tasted and what came to me in a glass tasted different. Saturday afternoon, our waitress extended the happy hour menu to us. My wife doesn't eat oysters so I got 3 to start. I pulled something out of the oyster that wasn't oyster. I told the waitress, she was cool and gave the oysters to us gratis. We ordered a large meat & cheese plate. The cheese we choose were amazing!!! The Robiola was a soft spreadable cheese, we knocked it out. Gorgonzola was creamy and dreamy, it was soooo good! We ordered two meats, prosciutto and Nduja. The Nduja was like raw spicy sausage, meh. The ham was good so we're mixed on our meat choices. There were stuffed peppers, it tasted like they picked it out of the jar. Overall, nice looking wine bar. We had great cheeses and the oysters tasted fresh. First time here so 3 1/2 star visit, rounded up. Patchogue is a beer town, I'm glad there is now a Italian wine bar

To call themselves an oyster bar is a stretch of a pretty wild imagination, to say it's amazing is an even wider exaggeration but I will say I enjoyed the place. We were sort of an obnoxious group to deal with last night but the girl behind the bar handled us well and took good care of us. Half of what we got was great and half was good but needed something to really take it beyond itself. The mushrooms were great but got old quick, needed a touch of salt. The Gorgonzola was creamy and wonderful and could do no wrong. The harder cheese with the agave was incredible but we weren't served enough of that agave... to be honest, is there ever enough? The included grapes were a good and a much needed touch to break up the plate. The bread and meats were nice, the mortadella sounds good on the menu but falls a little short on the palette as well as the smoke characteristic listed on the speck... although it was all delicious. The oysters, shrimp cocktail, and ceviche dish was... it was good but sort of lackluster in my opinion, the cocktail sauce needed horseradish, the mignonette was sort of bland but complemented the oysters well and I'd prefer going to catch, but the oysters given (unsure of what kind they were exactly) were good. The ceviche was a let down in flavor other than the nice fruity salsa but all overall enjoyable enough; airy and pleasant, none the least. I doubt I'd do that trio again though. The wine, the service, all on point. The atmosphere... it's okay; a place like that in a concrete prison cell just seems.... not right. I'll be generous and give them the full four stars but I expected just a little more "wow."

Visited on opening day. Atmosphere: They have outdoor seating for the summer (win!). Inside it has a pretty classy/romantic vibe. Service: everyone who stopped by our table was incredible personable. Despite the prices and the classy vibe inside the servers made us feel at home. Our main waitress had some great recommendations. I wouldn't say the quickest service but nothing to complain about Food: only tried the caprese salad. It was pretty small but very fresh and good. Our waitress brought us some toasted bread with it and it was really tasty. Crisp outside, soft inside & drizzled with olive oil. Drinks: expensive. But good. I tried the V.L.P. (Tito's, lemoncello, & prosecco). I love lemon drop martinis. And adding prosecco to it? Genius! I also tried the sparkling rose. Also delicious. Overall it was good. I'd probably be more likely to go if there was a happy hour. But definitely a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. To wit, there was nothing here but an exceptional experience with a like-minded wine enthusiast. I felt welcomed and in the frith of old kin. Nasty, belligerent, dullard atmosphere- indeed not.
