Here's what I have to say and this should sum it all up for how much I do love this place. You have an Irish girl coming to Revo tonight on Saint Patty's Day for an Italian meal. Keep it short and simple. The food is incredible. The cook cook each dish. It seems to make sure that everyone enjoys the authenticity and every flavor, the weight staff and everyone there is very nice very accommodating and want you to have a great experience and the ambience is ideal with the right lighting. It's not too loud, but even if it is a little loud that just means you're enjoying other people's companies you didn't expect that night but thank you to Roo. I've been back several times for Sunday Brunch since my last review and each time everything has been consistently the same, which is a great thing. The servers have been warm and friendly providing exceptional service. The pre fix lunch menu is an amazing value at $24.95. Today I started with mussels in red sauce and had as my main course the flounder oreganata which was served with sautéed vegetables and wild rice all delicious. I came here for a baby shower today, we had the whole back room which was a nice size, and decorated comfortably and very well lit. Our waitress was great, she had a pleasant demeanor. The restaurant was accommodating even despite the fixed menu. We started with family style apps - fried calamari and mozzarella with roasted red peppers doused in balsamic vinaigrette. It was a little heavy. We also received a salad with shaved parmesan which was pretty good. For the main course, I had the salmon with vegetables over mashed potatoes. It was good. We went to Ruvo last night during restaurant week because we wanted to try something new. We had a very pleasant experience dining here and didn't expect the portions to be so huge. Afterall, it was Restaurant Week pricing. (Dinners $39 or $46, not including drinks.) We loved the appetizers (mini rice balls and fresh mozzarella salad). My husband had the parmagiana trio and I had the Chicken Maderia. Both were to our liking. The caramel apple bread pudding was absolutely delicious! I would come back just for that! The restaurant is cute, but a bit worn looking. We were seated towards the back, at a table that had both chair and bench seating. The bench next to me was all torn up. A little Duct Tape would do the trick! The waitstaff was very good but no one came around to refill our water glasses until we were waiting to pay for the check. (I just ate the leftovers tonight for dinner.) It was difficult to find a parking spot, but that was because of the extra snow. The waiter was attentive and the service was fairly quick. If I want to go out and be sure to get great food, Ruvo West is my go to. Lunch is great. Dinner is great. I have gone to many restaurants and left feeling disappointed and that I wasted my money on food I could have made much better at home. I have never felt that way about Ruvo. Always excellent. We always choose Ruvo for our Anniersary and Christmas Eve because those are 2 days we want to be sure to have a great meal and nice atmosphere. The best! read more

Have been driving past this place for awhile and finally went inside to have dinner. Came on a Sat and it was pretty packed, outside and in. It was cozy inside and wait staff were very friendly. Dishes were a little pricey but it was delicious! We had calamari to start, salmon and steak. All really tasty but I have to say the steak was my absolute favorite, the way it was cooked, flavorful with sauce is reason enough to come back for more! Went for the lunch with friends that I hadn't seen in a while. Dawn was our waitress and she was great! Right away for our drinks and told us to take our time catching up. We eventually ordered the $23. price fix with appetizers of mussels, soup and a Caesar salad and they were all delicious! For main course we got Flounder, Chicken Parmigian and the Turkey BLT. Ruvo is a very busy and noisy pub restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and good staff. We had accidentally gotten the day of our reservation wrong, but after a wait of half an hour, we were seated. The Prix Fixe menu was a great deal and the food did not disappoint. The salmon, the roast duck, the veal sorrentino and the flounder/shrimp oreganata were all dishes that were thoroughly enjoyed. Got a chicken cutlet parm dinner (for lunch) and the chicken cutlet could not have been any thicker and the sauce tasted like Prego jarred sauce. We had a pitcher of red sangria which we both enjoyed. For an appetizer I got the spinach and artichoke flat bread, my hubby got the calamari. Both good- the spinach artichoke flat bread could have used a little heat like red pepper flakes or something but it was decent. For my entree I had the half duck, good but a little well done to my liking, my hubby had the chicken sorrentino. I liked it, he did not. They use red sauce instead of the traditional brownish sauce for the dish and the sauce at Ruvo is VERYYY sweet. It needs something to break it up like basil or some acid. What an absolutely wonderful time at Ruvo last night! My girlfriends and I went to see a friend play live music there and grab some dinner as well. We made reservations and the place was pretty busy! Beautiful bar area as well here. We started off with the rice balls and spinach artichoke flatbread for appetizer. The rice balls had a slight spice to them, fabulous! The flatbread was so fresh and covered in cheese! We devoured them both. I had the handmade Gnocchi in their signature bolognese sauce and I was blown away. I was skeptical after reading some reviews on here but I'm so happy I went with my gut. I'm not sure why Ruvo fell short on those other nights but I was seriously impressed. One of my friends had the Chicken Gismonda with a side of spaghetti and said it was great! Wine choices range from local to napa valley and we couldn't forget about dessert! We opted for the flourless peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream. A perfect way to end a perfect night. I cannot wait to go back and have another great meal! read more

I went to Long Island Restaurant Week at Ruvo. The food was very good. Grandma's meatballs were delicious. I couldn't stop eating them. Then I had the chicken and it was good. My only complaint was I wanted a little more seasoning on it. The flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake was delicious!!! It was sooo good. All I kept saying was hmmmm while I was eating it. The I love Lucy drink was really good. As a fellow bartender, it was made well and you could actually tell you was drinking an adult drink. I appreciate that. I would definitely return there to eat. Ok, I've been back to Ruvo a few times since my first review. Food is fabulous, service is pretty good too considering it gets pretty crowded sometimes. My visit about 10 days ago was very good, everything was delicious including the cheesecake that I couldn't finish and took home. Only problem came was at the end, when our young waitress split the check in half, although she had been asked at the very beginning to please separate the checks of the two couples. We weren't happy, but paid it and the extra $50+ to cover the other couples extras and pricey drinks so as not to make a stink . Last night, again, we all requested separate checks from the start. Food was excellent, except the veal was a bit over done but still very tasty. We requested our check, and waited about 20 mins until the waiter came back and said to give him 5 more minutes to do the checks. That was fine. He went to the cash register, talked to Brian the manager, and came back with our check split evenly between the 3 of us. Did he not think we could have done that ourselves? We were annoyed, and got the original check and split it up ourselves like little old ladies out to lunch. My bill was $38 less when we broke it down. Sorry, I can't afford to pay that much more when I go out to eat. A couple of bucks here and there is one thing, but $88 extra for 2 meals adds up. Glad we decided to split it manually. I'm retired, and try to keep dining out in my budget but at this rate, I'll be having soup and sandwiches at home. Sorry Ruvo -you're off the list. I won't be back. read more
