Flexible with reservations +- 15 minutes, ample parking, area not too busy. Outside seating covered and protected from outside elements. The servers gives you plenty of time to socialize before taking the orders ( I don't know on the weekends). The entertainment, a pianist singer was superb, accepted requests, not too loud and sang oldies and newbies. We hope to return and hear him again. Food was also tasty, the eggplant rollatini appetizer was nothing we had before. There were a variety of choices, and enjoyed the different dishes we ordered. Ok, I've been back to Ruvo a few times since my first review. Food is fabulous, service is pretty good too considering it gets pretty crowded sometimes. My visit about 10 days ago was very good, everything was delicious including the cheesecake that I couldn't finish and took home. Only problem came was at the end, when our young waitress split the check in half, although she had been asked at the very beginning to please separate the checks of the two couples. We weren't happy, but paid it and the extra $50+ to cover the other couples extras and pricey drinks so as not to make a stink . Last night, again, we all requested separate checks from the start. Food was excellent, except the veal was a bit over done but still very tasty. We requested our check, and waited about 20 mins until the waiter came back and said to give him 5 more minutes to do the checks. That was fine. He went to the cash register, talked to Brian the manager, and came back with our check split evenly between the 3 of us. Did he not think we could have done that ourselves? We were annoyed, and got the original check and split it up ourselves like little old ladies out to lunch. My bill was $38 less when we broke it down. Sorry, I can't afford to pay that much more when I go out to eat. A couple of bucks here and there is one thing, but $88 extra for 2 meals adds up. Glad we decided to split it manually. I'm retired, and try to keep dining out in my budget but at this rate, I'll be having soup and sandwiches at home. Sorry Ruvo -you're off the list. I won't be back. read more

Been coming here since it first opened in 2001 and it immediately became my fave go-to restaurant. From the food, the service and even the ambiance it's so worth the price. The chef and the menu are incredible, and I've had custom dishes made up for me by the chef. I can't give it a higher rating and definitely think it should have a Michelin star or two. We love our server..young guy, sweet, always goes the extra mile. The atmosphere is nice and not too noisy, prices are fair and staff attentive. Bar makes a great cocktail..they always have everything. I usually order from a price fix menu, always enough to take home. This review is for Ruvo Market in Greenlawn. We are long time fans of Ruvo Greenlawn and Port Jefferson restaurants. However, I picked up a Caesar salad and dressing to go with our dinner. The salad was inedible. The ribs of the romaine were brown/rust colored. $11.00 for the salad and I purchased the medium size container of dressing for $5.75. We are so disappointed. We have had a few parties catered by Ruvo over the years and are very disappointed. Of course this is the one time I didn't get a receipt.....I trusted the food would be fresh. We had a reservation and had to wait a long time. Menu on line was different from menu at the restaurant. No vegetarian main course options so asked to have an appetizer with spaghetti added. They up charged to a crazy price and the tiny bowl of pasta I added was soaked mostly in water with a drop of tomato sauce. We could see the bread brought to other tables around us and we were given 2 tiny pieces. Except for the watery spaghetti the food was fresh and tasty but not worth the price we paid. My wife and I had dinner at Ruvo's last evening. We have been going there for many years and had never been disappointed until now. After a long wait for the dinner to be served, my wife's pasta dish arrived luke warm as well as my flounder and shrimp dinner. The shrimp were tough and the rice served with the fish was mushy. As I have many times before , have enjoyed a great dining experience , but tonight was the unusual . Nice bar crowd , nice ambience , , it's a meeting place for a few friends that we meet for dinner , the eggplant was great , pasta yummy , shrimp dish on target but getting to mine , salmon over risotto .. the risotto was undercooked as if par boiled and planted on my plate with a small portion of salmon( which was tasty but stretched open like a slice of bread , I asked the waitress to relay to the chef , the risotto was undercooked , it was brought out again in the same texture , I do have a culinary background and was not thrilled on how it was brought back , the waitress asked if I wanted to bring it home ( in all seriousness) but again I relayed the same , it was still undercooked , and no thank you ! , left a tip but not quite up to the regular standards , at least swap it out for pasta or potatoes ! Hope someone in the kitchen gets a taste of what they have served ! read more

I have been going to this place since it was the Printers Devil for nearly 30 years and i have to Ruvo also a dozen times. I sadly found that it is not the same not nearly as wonderful food as in the Past. We had a party of 8. First my Margarita was filled with an abundance of lime juice with little if any tequila and served in the wrong type of glass. My friend had to send back her cosmopolitan it to was made incomplete. The others got a chocolate martini that looked like pudding in the glass it was so thick not like a drink. I ordered the oriecetta with sausage cannoli beans broccoli rabe and supposed cherry peppers but there were NO cherry peppers in the dish which severely changed the taste and the pasta was like mush all the oricchetta stuck together. I have had this 4/5 other times there with no issues. A lot of people in our party ordered the scallops and shrimp dish with ricotta my friend was confused as to why there were carrots and yellow squash in big pieces in the dish Neely to say it did not have the look that a scallop and shrimp dish should have kind of thrown together. I also noticed that on a Saturday night the place was not filled which it always was. I think the Management better pay some attention to the bar and hire a person who knows how to make a simple margarita. I am sad to say that I cannot offer this restaurant more than a 3 and only because but the waitress was a sweety and had great service she cannot help it if drinks and food has a lot to be desired. read more

I wish I could give less stars. For an Italian place or any other place, the portion size was embarrassingly small. I had the shrimp scampi and it had no taste whatsoever. The veggies were raw, the shrimp tasted like they were old and the amount of rice/orzo was minuscule. I asked for a little more rice and they said that they were out of rice, and it they made more for me they would have to charge me. WTF?!?! The dish was overpriced as it was! The service was horrid as well. Our waitress was rude and disinterested. I'll never go back to this terrible establishment. So many better options in Greenlawn/Huntington. After the meal, we were still so hungry, we went across the street to get pizza. read more

We went here for lunch on Wednesday to celebrate my birthday. It looked fine. We were seated right away. We were given water and brought bread. Then our server came to take our order. She seemed rushed and didn't come across as very personable. We ordered off the lunch special menu. My friend ordered soup that was delivered in a cup with dripping soup on all sides. His spoon was splashed and sticking out of the cup. Disgusting. And it had no flavor. The entrees were so so. It came to $80 with tip. The experience wasn't worth it. Not by a long shot. Happy to see a waitress from a place we used to frequent. Dawn is top of the line. Nice place and I enjoyed the soup and salad I ordered. Ruvo. Port Jefferson Ruvo is one of my favorite restaurants. They have the best Salmon and risotto. Quint but always busy. Finally went to the Greenlawn location and enjoyed brunch on a first date. Unfortunately there was no heat so we had space heaters. But still, excellent food and a great atmosphere. Always recommend and will come back to both locations. read more

Normally we would gone to the restaurant bc of Covid and the rainy night we had decided to celebrate our anniversary at home. We ordered food to go and it did not disappoint! Well Ruvo never does, but I'm always concerned with food I get to go either being luke warm or soggy from being the containers. Well when I opened the bag, the food was steaming hot and not soggy. The calamari was crispy and tender, hard to stop eating them. I ordered the chicken gizmonda, with mashed potatoes which was absolutely amazing. Lots of mushrooms and spinach the Pinot Grigio sauce was light and refreshing. My husband had the chicken parm which comes witwhich he kept raving about. He never raves about food especially take out for the reasons above. This was literally the beat take experience I've had in a very long time. Not only was the food amazing it was enough food for 2 nights worth of dinner. Honestly I could've feed my kids with the amount food but they weren't invited for our romantic dinner lol! The best was it didn't break the bank which is great!! Looking forward to taking my daughter to lunch on a nice day soon. Bc she tasted all of it ( only bc she went in the rain to pick it up) and she was blown away by every bite. Definitely a great place and decorated so cute n romantically. Bonus they even. Food was outstanding, however the staff was frazzle and miscommunication was at an all time high. We asked about the happy hour and the hostess said we could sit at the bar or any high top. One waitress said one high top was reserved, but then the hostess said we could sit there. The waitress spoke very sternly at us and said, I don't care what the hostess said, I just told you, you can't sit there. I then asked about the HH specials and the waitress told us that beer and wine was $7 a glass and mixed drinks were $3 dollars off. Then the waitress said she made a mistake and all drinks were just $3 dollars off. While we were eating I saw people eating a yummy soup. I asked the waitress about it and she said it was a special. I told her we were never told about the specials. She just shrugged. Then I saw an over charge on my check and was told the brisket sliders were $16 not $10 because the high top tables we sat at were not included in the HH but the other 4 items we ordered from the HH menu were? All in a very condescending and crappy tone It's a one and done for me. read more
